It has been 17 years since we got to see

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles (and Amy) of Team heroes race against

Jet the Hawk,

Storm the Albatross

and Wave the Swallow of the Babylon Rogues again, and this time learning about of the Arks of the Cosmos, meteorites sent to the Earth, and that they were engine parts for Babylon Garden, the "divine wings", and that the Babylonians were descendants of aliens.

Eggman tried to steal and use them for his supercomputer when he owned the MeteoTech Company to gain control of his robots,

but then SCR-HD take all 5 of the Arks of the Cosmos, and went to Babylon Garden, creating a black hole, the "lightless black" that attacked the divine wings, until Sonic and company stopped it from consuming everything.
