Mm I finally got over that slump in the mudslide fic that was giving me a headache and I was hoping to get to 45k today but I was busy editing pictures all day and didn't really get a chance to write.

Anyway, this part is from yesterday and it's still pretty raw, but if you couldn't tell they are disgustingly domestic and just totally gone on each other... losers. 🫶

After dinner, Eddie put Christopher to bed, taking him twice the time as it usually would, the kid asking for another and another story until he couldn’t even keep his eyes open. Buck listened to the tales from the living room, his head resting on the back of the couch and his eyes closed, letting Eddie’s hushed words wash over him; he never really got the voices quite right, only changing the pitch of his own voice enough to make it clear that he was trying, but never really allowing himself to get fully lost in the silliness of it all, unlike Buck, as Chris would remind him every now and again.

Still, despite continuously raising complaints about it, the kid loved to listen to him read — and Buck couldn’t blame him one bit. Eddie’s voice was deep and mellow, like syrupy resin running down the side of a splintery bark of a tree and Buck could’ve listened to it forever, if given the chance.

“Hey.” The voice came from much closer this time and Buck opened his eyes — only to realize that he had closed them in the first place.

“Oh uh, sorry, did- nm did you say something?” He blinked up at Eddie, grunting quietly as he slowly took in the blinking lights of the TV washing over Eddie’s body, drenching half of it in light and the other half into darkness.

“No.” Eddie smirked down at him with obvious amusement. “Long day, huh?” He asked as he walked around the couch, letting his knee brush against Buck’s before dropping down beside him.

“Something like that.” Buck hummed and without lifting his head away from the couch, he turned to look at Eddie. His face was illuminated by the ever-shifting lights of the screen, painting the entire living room into a cavalcade of colors, only leaving the corners to sulk in mysterious darkness. “Hey.”

Eddie looked back at him, shifting a little to mirror his position. “Hey.”

“Are you okay?”

#I did go over 44k though and with the scenes written but not included that's like 47k now...#I can't wait to get to the meaty parts and start editing the whole thing and split it into chapters #but that's still a few weeks away probably #this isn't even the mushiest bit from this part btw #they are both down SO BAD it's embarrassing truly #also this is literally my 20.000th post on tumblr dot com 🎉#buddie #911 #wip #the mudslide fic

i need to remake my cup bros ref… both cup and human designs… it’s been almost a year(?) and i’ve developed the headcanons and i would like to share with the class!!! (i wrote thirty tags. Please help me)

#my little hc i kinda showed in the refs but didn’t point out: cuphead’s handle appears broken/in human form his ear is halved #cause he has microtia (that also affects the eustachiantube/middle ear). basically i am a HoH cuphead truther #also to add onto that i think he has poor auditory processing issues cause i also see him as AuDHD #double also. while he would use ASL on a bad hearing day i think regularly he also uses home signs to express words/concepts #autism-related btw. it’s actually a bit visible in insert cuphead media (to me at least LOL) that cuphead expresses a lot of body language #so not liking conversation oral or signed as well as replacing oral words w home signs is in character. at least to my headcanon whatever #floats your boat!#OH! plus his split upper lip that i draw him with isn’t related to the microtia. he just roughhouses and chipped/tore his lip open when he #was younger #cuphead is also a trans boy. it feels right to me LOL #even back in 2017 when i barely knew the game or also much about trans people i saw cuphead and was like hm. hm!#tbh he just pawned his clothes onto mugman. who i’ve also changed my hc for i see him more as bigender than a cis boy now #LOL. i cast bi on mugman. sorry buddy #OH HIM TOO. im so sorry mugsy i have like two headcanons for you 😭😭😭#she uses he/she 2 me. i like casting personal parts of myself onto mugman even if i gravitate more towards cuphead/chalice #i see him as a bi ace as well. and a hopeless romantic. i don’t ship uhh i don’t remember what it’s called #i don’t ship cala maria X mugman (respect though) cause i see the cups as kids and i’m also a hilda X maria shipper LOL #but in the show. i will be real that she is a hopeless romantic. there's a lot of things people blame for why fandoms feel like ghost towns these days, but no one's really talked about the way discord's contributing to it

#its like #people are trying to force fit discord's chatrooms into forum boards #except discord is just. really really *really* poorly setup for that #and theres no way to archive or share it so everything said in it is easily lost despite personal export or community pins or search option #and like #vaguely hearing about the way some people are unsatisfied with them/feeling unfufilled in the response to them #a lot of people would be better off posting those things to places like tumblr #where there isnt a time limit on when people see or respond to them #part of what's scary/frustrating on tumblr rn is some fandoms arent good about reblogging to posts or tag rambling #like with bad buddy a large part of the fun was the enthusiastic and in depth tag rambles and the way responses built on each other #vs something like kinnporsche which feels much more like-oriented #like? its not like theres any one way to fandom #and there's nothing actually wrong with likes or quiet reblogs #but vaguely hearing about the way some people were/are really upset with some servers im just kinda like #idk #feels a bit like people trying to force a square thru a circle or that they're looking in the wrong spaces for what they want #.......this is not a complaint for my space ajkds i think i've carved out a pretty happy space for myself!#im just checking the reblog graphs of some old vs new stuff and thinking about a convo other cookie and i were having over the weekend #i have a lot of friends around and i love everyone who's happy to ramble with me #but i do feel a slight case of DM burnout rn where mostly people reach out to me via DMs instead of reblogs #which is a very different dynamic #its like. hmmm words #i love DMs but the pressure of responding to a lot of individual messages #vs something like reblogs which is more open forum for everyone and feels more communal #if that makes sense?#the difference between visiting one person at home vs casually hanging out with a group at a cafe #and the lovely thing about tumblr specifically is that i can set down a reblog chain for several days if i need #before returning to it later when i have more time/energy #its got Longevity that discord lacks u know #........okay enough tag musings from me ajkfhjdgfhj BYE

Hello to the Buddyfight fandom it's been a hot minute but god do i miss this show and have been making fanart for it in the background so i thought i'd post to tumblr too ^^

I swear every year I end up coming back to this show and wishing that it kept going, that it got rebooted, that i could just erase my memories of this show and just watch it all over again from the beginning to enjoy everything once again from Tasuku's own sense of justice twisting against him to Gao's suffering of PTSD and how heartfelt it was handled.

There's something very special about this show that I haven't been able to find replicated elsewhere. It has the most perfect world to exist (so much so that i'd love to be isekai'd into it if i could!!!) and while i have my own gripes with it (hi S3+) i honestly sometimes wish i could go back to my high school years of watching this show just to relive it all again :'D

Anyways!!! I hope there's still people out there who enjoy this show even ten years later who'll like seeing new funny artwork for it!

I wanna add too that i'm hoping to create a rewrite of FCBF (ft. seasons 1-3 + Ace) or at least create more artwork for my interpretation of it and its world!

Because, sincerely, this show is one of the few that, for all its flaws, hasn't disappointed me in the years that've followed unlike many other things i've seen and i wanna try to keep the spirit of it alive while I can thanks to that. And if there are any fans still in existence who love it, i wanna provide some food while its once again in my orbit because damn do i adore this show <3 <3 <#

lmao, I'm reading previous academic works on the book I'm writing my MA thesis on an one of them is an ecofeminist reading (which is... not my personal cup of tea but fair enough, you do you). I have no quibble with most of her analysis but one of her sections are about how animals in literature are almost always metaphors for humans, and how she wants to read this particular ape as an animal-animal instead and. I am so sorry but this ape is 120% a fucking metaphor. it's. like. the point.

#buddy if you want to analyse a book having a very open intertextual connection to another book #and is very explicitly commenting on that book #maybe don't use 'but what if it didn't' as an analytical base #because it will not in fact strengthen your argument #(the whole thing isn't bad and her general conclusions are reasonable if not particularly groundbreaking)#(it's just that specific part that baffles me a bit)#i've read too many takes of varying quality on this book by now #and to me so many of them miss the point lol #i'm sure others in the future will think the same about my theses on it lmao #cosmic fairness #nammi's ramblings
