if tumblr existed in 1984 (the year not the universe of the novel by the same name) you guys would genuinely be telling people not to vote bc walter mondale would be Just As Bad as ronald reagan. you guys would be saying that being anti ronald reagan instead of anti the whole system is liberal nonsense

if kamala harris wins and she continues to send money to israel, will liberals soothe and satisfy themselves with the belief that trump would’ve sent more, and therefore it’s okay that they did not push for better?

The ‘vote blue no matter who!’ crowd is starting to get on my nerves. Like, I’m trying not to give away the game, but do they even know that we’re playing?
The point of loudly denouncing Biden and the Democrats NOW is to threaten them into stopping a fucking genocide that’s happening NOW. It is the only (legal) way we can threaten them as their constituents. It’s a game of fucking chicken! If the Dems were legitimately concerned about ceding office to Trump, they would take action NOW to try and recapture voters. But they don’t because they think they can get away with literal genocide and still win the Oval Office because voters like you are too chicken or too paralyzed to make a simple threat.
I don’t give a fuck what you do in the ballot box come November but jfc this is about collective bargaining and you cowards can’t even pretend to give enough of a fuck about a genocide to threaten your reps like??? Grow a fucking spine and do the bare fucking minimum of voicing your solidarity.

The thing is, you could’ve made Rogue entering to “I’m The Bad Guy, Duh.” easily make sense if you’d wanted to. You’d have just written that he thinks he’s a bad guy all cool and nefarious - Rogue neither refers to himself negatively, and the Doctor says he’s cool not him (admittedly you’d still have to explain him pre-approaching the string quartet to play it, or it be magic but whatever).
You have Rogue think he’s A Bad Boy, but the Doctor be all ‘no you’re not there’s a heart of gold there’. He wouldn’t have freed himself with an I Am A Time Lord speech giving himself authority over Rogue, it would be appealing to Rogue’s good side that he doesn’t actually want to incinerate him etc. Rogue would choose to do the ‘good guy’ decisions himself, not have them imposed. He’d convince Rogue killing the birds is wrong, not just take his stuff and modify it - he’d get Rogue to reveal his better nature. The Doctor would convince him to leave his gun on the ship.
This is what would bite them later, where they’d both know, maybe with just a look, that if Rogue could have just shot the birds stuck to the glue trap, they wouldn’t have been in this mess. With Rogue then acting correctly ‘sometimes you need someone to be the bad guy’ by taking the controller when the Doctor was busy snogging him and dispatching Ruby himself.
Leading into a finale where Ruby is in a different dimension and relying on her battle-earpiece skills to fend off 5 murderous birds as long as possible, giving us an opportunity to engage with whatever her reality warping powers are but it ‘could’ just be dimensional weirdness, and if the TARDIS was still the one who programmed the teleport she knows where Ruby is, and luckily for her if unluckily for the universe, the dimensions are now all bleeding at the edges and seeping out and Doctor Who is a TV show, yada yada yada.

You know what, fuck it. I shouldn’t have to leave because y’all decided to turn into antisemites. Here’s a tiny fraction of the shit that I’ve had to see every day:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y’all fucking used us and pretended to give a fuck about us to make yourselves look better and then turned on us and abandoned as soon as it was no longer earning you cool leftist points. I’ve had to listen to so many goyim leftist claim all Jews are making up antisemitism while I have to live through it. I’ve had to listen to you people say that me and everyone like me should be killed. I tried to give you all the benefit of the doubt when I spoke out about antisemitism and you ignored me. I did the same thing when I saw people trying to argue against other Jews when they pointed out antisemitic stereotypes that where being perpetrated by the left. This was before the I/P conflict was even well known about in a lot of leftist spaces. I should’ve never given you that benefit, you didn’t deserve it. Leftist goyim are now saying the same genocidal Nazi shit I’m used to hearing from the alt right. Now I know that you fucks where just waiting for the opportunity to turn on us, and I won’t forget this. And I know so many of you are doing the same thing to the Palestinians that you did to us. You’re pretending to care about them and using them to look good. If you actually cared about them, you wouldn’t be turning this into a chance to be antisemitic because that just distracts from their movement. I’m gonna unfollow every fucker who’s complicit in this or perpetrating it. I don’t know who to trust anymore, but I know I will never trust any of you again.

honestly I’m fucking tired of calling my reps and begging them to care
I’ve been calling them over and over and over for the past four months begging and pleading them to speak out about what is obviously genocide
I don’t think they listen, most likely their underpaid interns got instructed to throw notes or voicemails out, but even if they do they don’t fucking care. It’s exhausting.
The White House comment line is only open for 4 hours 4 days of the week during hours most people work. If you’re able to call and wait for 20 minutes to finally speak to an intern they take a brief note and you can only hope they don’t immediately throw it out.
I’ve been doing this since I was a child. begging my reps to care about children being shot in school. begging them to care about my own schools getting bomb and gun threats every year. begging them to care about the fact that people don’t feel safe around cops. begging them to care about the growing number of people in my city becoming jobless and homeless and dying of covid. begging them like a dog to care at all about people’s lives and happiness.
I don’t know. I’m just fuckin’ tired
I won’t give up though. It’s not the only form of activism I do or the main one I give my energy to. I hope the same thing for anyone reading this. You shouldn’t just be boycotting and calling your reps, you should be attending vigils and protests and speaking about the issue of genocide to your friends and family
I’m just tired of people pretending like our representatives actually give a fuck what we think over their lobbyists and investors cause it is and has always been clear to me that they don’t. America has never been a democracy and if you think that you are deluded.

Kinda crazy that young people are asking for laws and policies that ensure that we won’t die in a horrific or violent way and the response of the Republican party is to essentially give us the middle finger and say we shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

If you have a representative in your state that voted against funding the government last night, look up why they voted nay. Look up what they think is more important than keeping the government funded
I looked up Mike Quigley’s reasoning. He said nay in protest to funding for Ukraine being dropped. He has a point that in a month when this comes up again republicans will try to cut it because they could the first time. He didn’t want to see funds for them dry up despite the fact that there’s still bipartisan support
All the “freedom caucus” that voted against it had the chance to come up with a compromise bill more in their favor. If they hadn’t been so extreme then the senate probably would have passed a bill with a few cuts to ensure there wasn’t a shut down. They have no one but themselves to blame

it could also just be that a lot of simblrs are side blogs or not main blogs. I have been posting nothing but education about the genocide happening in Palestine on all my main accounts but my simblr is really just for sims. Maybe that's the issue you're running into?
yeah i get that but can’t you reblog stuff on sideblogs too? mine is not a side blog so i don’t know the specifics but why not use both accounts to spread awareness? why just have a specifically sims account? maybe this is why simblr sometimes feel like a bubble because i don’t know if people just wanna separate their sims content from non sims stuff just cause or is it because you don’t like mixing geopolitical issues and current events bc you don’t care? or is it a privilege to be able to create that bubble or safe space? i think there’s difference between creating safe spaces and choosing to create a space where you want to be ignorant of the world around you without criticism 🤷🏾‍♀️

what didn't you like about it, out of curiousity?
Hmm I’m gonna have to think on it it some more and come back to you when I’ve managed to articulate something
#I will try to get back to you later anon#I didn’t hate it. there were scenes that made me laugh and smile#but I think the prevailing feeling it’s left me with is… confusion/frustration/dissatisfaction? about the message insofar as it had one?#hmm and I think also because it made me remember how much I disliked and felt alienated by barbies growing up#not bc of the body image issues which the film makes some effort to engage with#not beauty standards but FEMININITY standards#and the movie doesn’t acknowledge that aspect of barbie as a cultural influence/reflection at all#except for maybe Allen if you squint??#the assumption is that you want to be barbie at least to some extent. you want to be pretty.#but you’re too stressed to accomplish it or you’re too angsty to embrace your desire to be pretty#the angsty teen goes from wearing all black (and pants) to a purple skirt by the end. the girly makeover subtly signifies healing.#(I know that could just be me reading into it… but is it?)#it’s the way it holds up a specific kind of person as Woman and universalizes her struggles and calls them All Women’s Struggles#while conflating them and largely ignoring actual economic/legal/political issues faced by women as a class#and the whole ken storyline… ehh idk I need it to be more internally consistent or something. to have a coherent message and not just#‘it was like I was in a trance where I thought I cared about the Zack Snyder cut of the Justice League’ as a joke about… what?#male-dominant interests being somehow inherently toxic? cool women not being into nerdy boy stuff?#it’s the old men are from mars women are from venus thing#sigh. girl power. lol I don’t know!#sorry this rambling is all I have for you right now#I thought the critique in youtube by verilybitchie touched on a lot of good points tho so maybe that’s somewhere to start#on* youtube#but it’s ok if you liked or loved it. I saw it with my sister who was super psyched for it (which is why I wanted to like it too)#and she’s great so

*shaking milquetoast liberals by the shoulders* you need to make choices. you need to make decisions about how you interact with a larger political movement. you cannot look to the people around you to tell you what your opinion ‘should be.’ you cannot get caught up in the tide of a movement without being victim to its worst actors. you are the only person responsible for educating yourself, consulting conflicting sources, understanding their context, and coming to a conclusion aligned with your ethics. ‘let’s all be real niceys :]’ isn’t an actionable ethical or political stance.

- cherry wine is about domestic abuse. it’s now called a cute proposal song.
- too sweet is about seizing the day and ignoring healthy habits in favor of having more fun with unhealthy ones. he’s actively critical of himself in the song. it’s now called a song about thinking you’re superior for drinking black coffee.
- take me to church is about worship as a metaphor for sex. it’s called a religious song.
- eat your young is a song about war and political greed. it’s called a song about sex.
- now, the strongly political message of nobody’s soldier is being ignored in favor of calling it a metaphor for hozier’s relationship with his fans.
when are we going to stop simplifying hozier’s music down to cute little cottagecore bogman forest music? maybe you dont want to hear this but i don’t care. quit listening to hozier for the aesthetic. there’s a reason why empire now, foreigner’s god, butchered tongue, etc. songs with unignorable political messages are among his least popular songs.
