hiii happy simblr anniversary to me! 3 years in this community, can you believe it?! this year was such a weird year for me as there was so many things i wanted to do and i either never did them, didn’t finished them, or they just got drafted and pushed for next year. i always wish that i could’ve done more in regards of edits and hairs but i seriously cant overwork and stress myself over a hobby! i think i will just focus on being creative and helping other black and/or fat simmers the best way i can and that’s it.

honestly, i cant be too mad or upset at myself because i did a lot different and cool things this year that im actually proud of like doing two cc collab with two amazing black free cc creators, finally making and releasing some of the hairs of my dreams, debuting my s-pop girl group (the fates) that been in the basement for like 2 years, successfully downloading ts2, and posting a bit of my nsb 2 legacy gameplay (even tho i stopped posting it 😭). i still hope to post more of my personal gameplay and my sim artists from my “record label” because i spent alot of time this year playing with my nsb2 family and working on my 70s singer, my 60s girl group, my 90s/2000s girl group, and of course i need to work on the comeback for the fates! there’s still a couple more hairs i have drafted that i would love to share with y’all eventually!

As a result of my outstanding grades in my study and the excellent performance in my job, I have been a holder of different scholarship and I am active participant in many research visits and scientific missions. 💪The last scholarship as at McGill University in Canada three months ago before the starting of the genocide in Gaza.😫

However,😥

My life changed dramatically when Israeli military launched a sweeping war against Gaza. My home and our neighborhood in the North have been destroyed along with our belongings and precious memories early in this crisis.😢💔

My job and my husband's job are gone. Israeli military forced us to evacuate from the north Gaza to the south where they claimed it would be the safe zone but it is not at all. Our sweet home and neighborhood have been destroyed 😥😭💔

Forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on our backs, today, we find ourselves sheltering in a displacement camp lacking access to sanitation, medical supplies, food and drinkable water. I will not talk a lot about the dire and unbearable life we have to go through, as no word can express it fairly 🥺😣

The good news in the midst of this tragedy, that I am one of the 22 women from the developing world who have been awarded OWSD- PhD fellowship to pursue my PhD study in Malaysia🍉💪. But now I am stuck in Gaza unable to achieve my dream because Israeli army has occupied and closed all the border crossings 😭💔

‏I am manal from Gaza. I am 30 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to support my family of 3 members, me, my husband, and my young daughter. We are living in very difficult circumstances after the occupation launched the war on Gaza. We were displaced from our home and live in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer. We live in extreme poverty due to the circumstances and there is no income. We are no longer able to provide the necessary supplies of food, drink and others due to the insane rise in prices. Thus, my source of livelihood was destroyed and we live in very difficult conditions in tents. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in the tents without food, medicine, or drinking clean water, along with the oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, and daily traumas that everything causes. Around us and unable to care for our families, the fear of danger, disease and death never leaves us

Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my little girl, by getting us out of Gaza to Egypt and building a new life outside Gaza or helping us get money to buy the necessities we might be able to afford. Asking for help is not easy, but we had no choice because we want to survive and strive to rebuild our shattered lives. is anyone else on the fence about going to grad school or not? i never really wanted to go when i was in undergrad until i got interested in archiving during my senior year and the very thought of going to grad school has tormented me ever since especially since it’s kinda required to have masters degree to be an archivist or similar glam professional 😩 but the archive job market is really bad, pay is low, it’s just really oversaturated, and not very diverse in terms of the amount of black archivists…but i love history and archiving and i have a lot of experience 😪

We lost our home and our source of livelihood, and I lost a lot of my family in this fierce war. I suffered from the beginning of the war when I wake up. Every morning to wash the clothes on my hands and cook on the wood. My chest was damaged by the smoke of wood.
