Sometimes a Justice League meeting will go on long and some of the more humanoid members will get hungry, so, some of them like to group up and head out for lunch or some late night munchies together. Where to, exactly? That's the thing, since they have zeta teleporting in the watch tower, they can go anywhere, so it would be very cute to see a group of superhero friends eat a meal together.

Especially in another superheroes' city without telling them :3

For example, Flash, Superman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman, all heading to Gotham after a long meeting one day. Batman sees them heading to Gotham but doesn't know why....until he figures out they're going to batburger despite his dislike of it and actively trying to get the new batman toy that comes with the meal.

And he only figures this out because Robin is with them (he also wanted the new batman toy).

Your post about misogynistic/patriarchal women really resonated with me and I empathize SO much girl I would be rich if I had a dollar for every single time i’ve seen a woman say some variant or another of “women are WAY worse than men!!!!” and wholeheartedly mean it. I wish there was more of us having the space and drive to criticize our own sex class’ actions in a fair and just way without carrying the guilt of how our sex class is treated & without also following the subconscious path of least resistance (woman bad, man good). I wish there were more outlets for us to just be so fucking for real with each other, but in the way of respect, maturity, empathy, dignity, and accountability. I wish we all had more self awareness about the patterns we perpetuate.

It sucks when you not only have to cope with 50% of the population automatically hating you because of the morally neutral biological sex you happened to develop as in the womb, but you also have to deal with the members of your OWN sex perpetuating the cycles of subjugation and working against their own interests on top of that because of how deeply the knife of misogyny is plunged into our stomachs. As an individual girl/woman in the world, you have to incessantly deal with and mentally prepare for the indiscriminate bombardment of misogyny that is almost guaranteed to sneak up on you from every single direction possible. Feeling like you have close to no true allies, or only very few of them on a global scale. It’s a brutal, harrowing feeling.

It definitely gave me more insight into how the human mind copes with pain and injustice in bizarre and miserable ways, I guess. Why do you think Larys gravitated towards Alicent and not say Rhaenyra? Did he think Alicent was easier to manipulate and more vulnerable or did he just think the greens were a safer bet?

it's half and half. i don't think larys is doing all that because he particularly believes in the traditional male inheritance and is ideologically aligned with the greens, nor that he thinks they are the safest bet (if he believed in this he would not have murdered his family lol). we don't actually know what are his grand plans in the books or in the show but while i don't believe it has to do exactly with personal power, it has to do with getting him into a position of considerable influence over the realm's affairs.

after saying this we can say that targeting alicent makes more sense than rhaenyra. why? for the same reason otto decides it's better to make alicent visit viserys to eventually trap him into marrying her rather than try to guide rhaenyra from zero. alicent is more pliable, more naive, and more willing to follow than to lead, even if she doesn't realize it that moment as the mother of the possible future king she has a lot of influence in court and council; larys has been watching her since she became queen (notice how he inserted himself in the women's circle during the hunt) and found her to be in the right position AND disposition. it was no accident that he finds her just after saying goodbye to otto in the godswood: she's finally free from her biggest influence, has no support system, and in such a vulnerable state that when larys does his tricks she falls really easily and believes all his words (the-green-dress-ramin-djawadi.mp3) because he empathizes with her ("when one is not invited to speak..."), speaks her fears out loud (rhaenyra, her lack of allies) and offers her his support when all she had was through otto.

as for larys, i like to think that he saw some parts of himself in her (outsiders, under strict parents, intelligent and overlooked), esp during those ten years of dinners where the friendly facade (or was it?!?!) was firmly in place (rip alicent you are never getting away) and that's why he doubles down in his punishments when she denies him. in any case, this would not had happened with rhaenyra at all. larys needs an entry and the only moment rhaenyra is vulnerable is when daemon leaves her pants down in the brothel, she's much more guarded and knows how to wield her privileges. poor larys would've been kicked out immediately plus after rhaenyra started seeing harwin there was NO WAY larys was going for the same route, that his brother liked her was already a mark against.

i think at this point when aegon was a baby many people were just waiting for viserys to change his mind, he doesn't really do much for rhaenyra so for them it was a matter of time. i think this is true for larys and because he's practically put all his eggs in alicent's basket he's throwing himself to be the best pet spy in the realm and not lose the foothold he has in the queen until the moment she or the cause is not useful to his goals anymore (let's remember he installed one of the puppet kings, did nothing when daemon took harrenhal, when alys did the same, and well, he did poison aegon lol).

I just think it's so neat that when Sayuri is older, she starts to pin her hair up in homage to her Auntie Hatsuko, who never is seen without plated locks && or a nice swept up style. All the admiration that is purely innocent since Sayuri viewed her as a mother figure despite being co-raised with the rest of the Kobayashi children. After all, she was hand selected by Hatsuko && trained under her in the art of Geiko. Their bond is deep as it is full of turmoil, this is the woman who cursed Sayuri to be Tsukuyomi's vessel solely for political power && to also hope her niece could escape the bondage they all suffered. Hatsuko never dreamed that in doing so, she awoke a demigod in the making, something the Kobayashi Clan admits they were never prepared to house. They are ill fit, unequipped, while desperately seeking to connect to one of their loved daughters - yet, failing. After her ascension during the Perfect Prepartion Arc, it shows Sayuri is not just a no face woman or a treasured child, she like Gojo, is the anchor of their family. Great as the wisteria tree that has lived for centuries in their sanctum && greater than they could ever fathom.

I've heard that marvel did better in the 60s because Stan lee made his characters more relatable. They had personality flaws and character traits that made them relatable to your average reader. The fantastic four alone had a unique dynamic, and every character feels like their own seperate thing. And then there's characters like Namor or The Hulk, who always had these many facets that make them compelling. And i think DC sometimes had the problem of not making their characters distinct from each other.

Not always, though. Like: Superman and Wonder Woman were always distinct. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster had a pretty well fleshed out character from the beginning, and future writers only built on what they established. And Wonder Woman had William Moulton Marston's brilliant guiding hand. Sure, Robert Kanigher toned some stuff down when he took over, but he had a good enough base that he couldn't anything. Silver Age Superman and Wonder Woman works pretty well.

No, my contention might be with Gardner Fox and John Broome. Those two did most of the characters outside of Superman and Wonder Woman. They did The Flash, The Atom, etc. And those characters are bland in the 60s. No offense to those two men, of course. They did do some good work, but i just think characterization may not have been their strong suit. Because Barry Allen and Iris West feel almost identical to Ray Palmer and Jean Loring, honestly. At least Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris feel a little more distinct. But the flash and the atom are the most boring characters of that era, to me. I don't like Hawkman much either, but he gets a slight pass because i do like his golden age version. I just don't love the silver age one as much.

also, following dany's return to meereen, she's done being tamed. she is done being tamed by the forces around her, done being tamed by the expectations around her, done being tamed by herself. quaithe told her that the dragons know who she is, but questions if she knows. daario expresses the same sentiment. following the second rebirth, she finally understands. it is time for her to drive herself and trust her own intuition more, of course while taking counsel ( that will NEVER change ), but she will not allow herself to become a bleating lamb ready for the slaughter again ; she will be as the targaryens are destined to be . . . a dragon. not just the mother of dragons, but the dragon who stops at nothing to protect her people. the dragon who leads her children. and like her dragons, she will answer to neither gods nor men.
