Your post about misogynistic/patriarchal women really resonated with me and I empathize SO much girl I would be rich if I had a dollar for every single time i’ve seen a woman say some variant or another of “women are WAY worse than men!!!!” and wholeheartedly mean it. It ESPECIALLY makes me feel like the Joker when I see women who by all means carry themselves as feminist/progressive say shit like “misogynistic women are way worse than misogynistic men!!!” or some other misogynistic gaslighty bullshit that came straight from the ancient misogyny playbook.
I wish there was more of us having the space and drive to criticize our own sex class’ actions in a fair and just way without carrying the guilt of how our sex class is treated & without also following the subconscious path of least resistance (woman bad, man good). I wish there were more outlets for us to just be so fucking for real with each other, but in the way of respect, maturity, empathy, dignity, and accountability. I wish we all had more self awareness about the patterns we perpetuate.
It sucks when you not only have to cope with 50% of the population automatically hating you because of the morally neutral biological sex you happened to develop as in the womb, but you also have to deal with the members of your OWN sex perpetuating the cycles of subjugation and working against their own interests on top of that because of how deeply the knife of misogyny is plunged into our stomachs. As an individual girl/woman in the world, you have to incessantly deal with and mentally prepare for the indiscriminate bombardment of misogyny that is almost guaranteed to sneak up on you from every single direction possible. Feeling like you have close to no true allies, or only very few of them on a global scale. It’s a brutal, harrowing feeling.
It definitely gave me more insight into how the human mind copes with pain and injustice in bizarre and miserable ways, I guess. Newlyy I am ripping off the skin of my face thinking about this, it truly is suffocating. The patterns, the cycles, the history repeating itself!!!! I see you and I get it
exactly. you're completely right. no notes.
#one note i was on tiktok this morning#and saw a tiktok of a guy who was like idk fucking 40 or something and hes like showing his house which is still like#decorated like a college guy apartment like he ued a hockey stick as a curtain rod for example#and he was being self deprecating but clearly thought it was more charming than embarrassing#but anyway his voiceover is like 'guys if youre in your twenties and have a girlfriend lock that down and marry her or you'll end up like m#and it was so annoying cause like first of all male no one is forcing you to live like this. you could choose to live like an adult even#though you thankfully dont have a mommy--sorry a wife#second its so annoying that hes like telling other guys hey be sure to marry a girl so she can do all these adult things that you dont want#to do#but finally#the reason im sharing this here#is because there were soooooo many comments from women being like 'dont worry! youre some womans cup of tea! just keep looking'#or like 'wheres the green flag guy?' referncing a guy i guess on tiktok who like takes note of green flag male behavior#to be fai there were other women in the comments saying like thank god you aren't married. no woman should have to deal with this#i just hate when women baby men

There was a anon asking for a sweet moment on my Chisaki Family au... how could I refuse something like that? Also btw I really dont know if out there is still snow but this scenario just begged for it so Im sorry have a bit of fluffy my fellas
He groaned internally when he heard two pairs of feet running down the halls.... even despite his daughter only having almost one year, the kid was a fast learner just like her older brother and himself.
It was early still... those brats... curse him for having a light sleep... he just wanted to forget his responsibilities for one day... is that too much to ask?
He burried his nose on your hair, sighing in bliss at receiving the warm of your body, his nose was almost frozen if it wasn't for his angel.
The best part is that he knew you had taken a shower before bed, a proper one since he was in the same as well...
You groaned at the sudden contact with his cold hands directly on your skin and his nose on the back of your neck.
"Asshole... you're cold..." you mumbled from your sleep receiving a slap on your bum while you yelped gigglingon your pillow.
"Shut it. Is not my fault that you're a human heater."
"There are people who has fire quirks though-"
"Dont ruin my morning angel." He growled in irritation but still didn't got even a inch apart from you.
"When did it get so cold?" You mumbled before feeling the sleep come back to you again.
"I will buy better sheets... these one are clearly shit." He smirked in your hair at the surprised gasp that left your lips.
You squirmed on his embrace to look up at him with a disbelieved face but smilling no less.
"Who are you? My husband don't just swear out of no where."
"Is still morning I have the rights on being at least more... flexible."
"Is still Kai Chisaki swearing though."
He went to answer back with a small smartass coment of his if it wasn't for the quiet hushes of his son and his dad quiet baby giggles.
You both sighed, you loved those deviants bjt quality time between you both was always appreciated.
"Maybe if we pretend that we are asleep they will give us some more time?" You suggested before Chisaki glared at you and closed his eyes again, pinching a bit on your side for you to do the same thing.
He heard the door creaking open and conttolled his urge to scoff and tsk at his children actions, still pretending to be deep asleep with his wife.
Which he really wanted actually...
He felt the bed shift for a momeng before the sheets seemed to tremble for a bit as a tiny body crawled towards the middle of both of you.
"No Kin, you won't wake up them in this way!" Kaito's whispered at his sister before wiggling a bit to maintain his balance "Watch me! This will make both literally jump out of there!"
"No it won't, and I will suggest for you to not even dare to jump on this bed brat." He zaid in irritation bearing his son yelp and feeling that he had falled to his back but thankfully still on the bed.
He scoffed while you giggled, getting up and crawling your younger baby that was already making grabby hands at you.
"Good morning Kin and Kaito..." you said still sleepy, geunting at the forcw that your son used to give you a hug.
"Didn't you brats have anything better to do?" Chisaki growled while picking his gloves and mask from his nightstand "Like brush your teeth or other things that I teached you both?"
"Already done daddy. You and Mommy that just spend too much in bed." Kaito said monoustly staring up at his father whose glared down at him.
"Is five in the morning Kaito..." he linched the bridge of his covered nose when his son merely shrugged.
What a way to start the day...
"But I woke up first because its snowing outside!"
"Snowing?" You and your husband said in union, clearly confused before Kin made a happy noise while squiming out of your embrace to follow her big brother, whose was telling you and Chisaki by hand gestures to follow him.
"Well..." you got up and flinched the slightest at feeling the cold ground on your bare feet "You're coming?"
Chisaki arched a eyebrow at you before getting up to both of you follow your energetic son and daughter.
"You brat don't even got outside, you just pretended is snowing... so what is so important?"
The kid look up at him before picking Kin carefully in his arms.
"Is Kin's first snow! And I'm sure there is outside, because tonight it was really cold!"
"He kinda has a point there." You giggled while your husband scoffed.
"Is just snow for God's sake."
"Aw, is her first snow Kai! Kaito was the same thing, didn't you remember the joy on those serious baby's eyes that still are way too similiar with yours?"
"He has your eye color. Stop talking nonsense. Kids are fascinated by anything, even if is not something that impressing or simply ridiculous." You pouted at him playfully and he rolled his eyes at your actions.
"Open open!" Kaito gleamed at the japanese door for both of you open to the yard.
Kai sighed in irritation before pushing one side while you pushed the other, getting surprised at seing the yard completely white with snow.
"Ha! Told you!" Kaito pointed a fi ger towards his father, dodging when his gloved hand went to slap away.
"Pointing is rude brat."
"Whatever. Come on Kin!" Kaito beamed while pushing his sister onto the snow, Kai's muscled tensing while his golden eyes darkened.
"Kaito Chisaki both of you will get a cold, get back inside right now and put something at least!"
You giggled at seing both of your children smiles, Kin golden eyes widening at her brother when he picked a small amouth of snow fo show her closerly, poking the point of her nose with it, emmiting the most cute yelps and giggles from the girl while her brother laighed along.
"That's it. Kaito you-" he widened his eyes in disbelief at seing you stepling in on the snow as well, actually throwing yourself at your children and hugging them closely while laughing aling with them.
Kai's eye twitched in anger and disbelief at the scene before he sighed in pjre annoyance and turned his back to get inside to at least pick the coats.
Well... that was the plan before he frooze at the sudden cold and rather hard hit on his back.
He knew exactly what was that, and slowly tuned his head a bit to send a one side eye death glare at the three angels faces.
"Who?" He said in a dark tone of voice. Deadpanning internationally at seing that Kaito pointed at his sister, while Kin had pointed to Kaito... you just stayed still with that infuriatingand adorable smile, looking up at him.
He slowly turned to be at least glaring with both eyes at the three of them. You gulped before getting up, already knowing that you might will have tto calm down your husband.
"Kai... hon calm down" you said gently before you dodged a snowball that you swore tbat you didn't even saw Chisaki making it!
Although that snowball hitted Kaito straight on the face.
"Strike." Your husband said monoustly while you gasped his name out loud in disbelief.
"NOT FAIR!" the kid yelled while his sister errupted in giggles.
You runned towards the inside of your home with everyone coats, smilling devilish at seing your husband still debating with Kaito, the back of his neck in full view to you.
"How many times will I have to say it that if you did the first move than I get the rights o- (Y/N)!" He shouted your name in anger while flinching away from your colds hands at his neck.
You handed the coaches to your children before showing your husband the timer on your cellphone.
"A little bet than my devil? 10 minutes of a small war?" He grabbed his coat and zipped up before placimg your phone near the exit of the door.
"I won't say anything besides that-" You tikted your head in confusion before you saw your husband crounching down again and throing a snowball at his son... poor thing didn't dodged.
"That brat is going down."
"Alright then." You threw a snowball at him, running away while laughing at his disbelieved face.
"(Y/N) Chisaki you will pay for this." He growled before crounching down on the ground and placing both of his now bare hands, smirking devilish at seing the wave of snow coming in your direction.
He got distracted though when his son and daughter threw weakly two snowballs at him.
"Alright then. The three of you will pay for this." He said monoustly but still hated that fact that he couldn't stop smilling underneath his mask.
Bonus:
"I can't believe what my eyes are seing." Pops chuckled lowly at seing Chisaki catching you by the waist while turning you around in the snow, cleary chuckling along with your laughter as his grandson carried his grand daughter by a pig bag ride.
He smiled genuinely at seing the look of pure adoration and happiness on his sucessor face when he looked down at you, scrunching up your nose and pouting at the huge amount of snow he had just throw it on your head and face.
It was still a miracle to see that Chisaki was... like he is today. He was always worried about Kai's behaviour, sure, the feeling of paying him back for taking him in and the violence was still there... but the worst he owned to you for simply had drifted away.
He closed the door with a chuckle before making his way to the kitchen, hearing the whines of the kids when a cellphone ring went off.
"Maybe a bit of tea for the four of them would be nice on this cold."

Ok so i know i shouldnt be doing this cause i dont want to die but im a masochist apparently so here it goes: so when aria was born everybody was happy at first but doctors made some kind of mistake and pidge died(oops). And now keith has to raise the kids alone and tell everybody and y'know let your mind develop the possibilities and suffering. Also how the holts will accept that(sorry not sorry)
WELP THIS IS SHORT BECAUSE IT HURT BUT I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY!!!
TW: Character Death, TW: Pregnancy Complications
It wasn’t supposed to end up like this.
Keith winced as he watched Colleen collapse to her knees, wailing in horror. Sam stared for a long moment, eyes wide in disbelief, beforetears of his own started up. He dropped down to wrap his arms around his wife, pulling her in close and beginning to speak in soft, choked words. Matt, meanwhile, instead channeled his grief into anger and seized him up by hiscollar. “I told you this was a badidea! I told both of you!” He growledquietly, eyes starting to water and his hands trembling. Keith didn’t say anything,as he didn’t know what to say. What do you say, he thought, in this situation? “Thatchild shouldn’t have been born!”
“That’s enough,” He said, a small bit of his usual firekindling. He felt so tired, so emotionally drained, but he still had some senseof himself. In only a few short hours, one of the most important people in hisworld was gone. Pidge was gone, lost after the complications from the labor.Their second daughter had survived and was doing well, but that said nothingabout what would happen with the older three.
Even still, he knew Pidge loved Aria, and never would havetolerated Matt saying such a thing.
Matt stared at him for a moment before closing his eyestightly, tears starting to leak out. “It just isn’t fair,” He choked out.
He carefully pried Matt’s hands off of him. A part of himstill wanted to comfort him, but he had other priorities. “I need to go. I needto sit with the kids,” He said quietly. He turned and headed around the cornerto where everyone else was waiting.
Amber and Kaden were clamoring all over Kolivan, Amberpoised over his shoulders like a boa or scarf, while Kaden was latched onto oneof his legs. Both children were squealing and giggling, while Kolivan himselfwas chuckling as he continued to walk around the waiting room with the twochildren draped over him. Krolia was settled in a seat with Oliver, watchingthe spectacle with an amused grin, gently bouncing the baby boy. Oliver wasdozing a bit, eyes slowly drooping shut but then fluttering back open at anyloud, excited squeal from the older two. The rest of their friends would bestarting to trickle by later, though Shiro sat beside Krolia, watching thedisplay before them with amusement of his own. Keith hadn’t been ready to telleveryone right away. He had to tell the Holt’s first, though.
His mother perked up, still smiling, but the look falteredat his haunted expression. She carefully stood up and walked over, gentlyreadjusting her grip on Oliver so that he could doze off against her shoulder. “Keith?”She asked softly.
He looked at her then looked away. “I… I need to talk toAmber and Kaden,” He mumbled.
She looked at him, taking in the red-rimmed eyes and teartracks still left on his cheeks. She then glanced down and saw his knuckleswere scrapped and red, implying he’d been hitting something. Her stomach lurkedand her heart twisted at the realization of what was happening. “Are Pidge andthe baby…?” She trailed.
“Aria’s okay but Pidge,” He said, choking off as he spokeher name. He clenched his hands into fists, wanting nothing more than to gopunch another wall. He’d been rather surprised that the hospital staff had beenfine with him losing his cool like he had, none of them commenting on thesizeable dent he’d left in the wall beside the room where he lost her.
“Keith, I’m so sorry,” Krolia whispered, tears misting upher own eyes, reaching out to set one hand on his shoulder. He nodded a bit, wanting to say more, but he could see movement out of the corner of his eye.
“Daddy!” Amber squealed as she darted over, Kaden just a fewsteps behind her. She paused, however, as she took in his expression. Did sheremember almost two years ago, when Oliver had been born? Kaden picked up onthe unease in his sister and dad, looking between them worriedly.
“Where are Mommy and baby sister?” He asked, wringing his fingersin front of himself.
“Baby sister is resting right now, but Mommy,” He said, taking a shuddering breath as he carefully knelt down. He gently ushered thetwo towards him. Kaden fell in to him without a fight, but Amber took an unsurestep back, eyes widening in a panic and fear. “Amber, sweetie.” He breathed outsoftly.
She shook her head. “W-Why aren’t we going up to see her?”She asked, voice growing a bit louder as spoke. This alerted Kolivan and Shiro, the two men standing up and looking over. Thankfully enough, Krolia swept overto the two of them, speaking in soft, hitched whispers.
“Amber,” He repeated, reaching out and barely managing toloop his arm around her. She tried to twist away and make a mad dash for theelevators he’d come from.
“Let me go! I’mgonna go see Mommy!” She protested as he pulled her in closer. Kaden wastrembling, pressing himself closer into Keith and letting out small hiccupping breathes. He loved his kids so much, but sometimes he lamented that they had inherited Pidge’skeen intellect. In a moment like this, he wished they weren’t clever enough intheir young age to surmise what was happening.
“I’m so sorry, baby girl,” He choked out as he curled herinto him.
She stared up at him for a moment, defiance blazing in herlike a fire, before her lower lip trembled and it all washed away. She threwherself into him, wailing out a cry for her other parent. Kaden followed afterher a second later, and he curled them both into him as tight and close as hecould get, dipping his head and letting himself cry more.
He cried for the loss of the love of his life, the onlyperson he’d ever truly connected with in such a natural way.
He cried for Amber and Kaden, who would forevermore bear thepains of missing her every day going forward, of feeling a pain he himself wasfar too familiar with.
And even still, he cried for Oliver and Aria, who were stillso incredibly young and would have to rely on nothing but the shared stories ofothers to know who their mother was.

Interesting flight
And here it is, the end of Klance AU Month. I actually did it, I did a story for every day, well except day 10 but I've done a whole series on YouTuber, I think I was allowed to skip an AU I knew I wasn't good at. A big thanks to @monthlyklance for moding this event of sorts and being very nice as I sent them link after link of my fics because tumblr wouldn't show my stories in the tag search. Don't know if I'll do this again, maybe when I know time won't be taken up by classes. Wasn't my best fic I think but it's been a long day. Free Day (Single Parent AU)
“Are we going to see granny?” Sylvio asked, watching his uncle feed his little sister.
“Yeah, are you excited?” Lance asked, pulling the empty bottle away from Nadia’s mouth and then handing it to the young boy.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to spend my birthday with them. Uncle Lance?”
“Hmm, what’s wrong?”
“Can we go see mommy and papi?”
Lance’s smile faded a little. Sylvio’s parents, his own older brother and sister-in-law, died in a car crash. Lance had been babysitting his niece and nephew, being the only family member living in L.A like Marco, while everyone was in Florida. He’d just put the kids to sleep, wondering where his brother even was when he got a call. Everything had changed in that night. Being the only one of age that was in the area, Lance had gone from an uncle who was going to start working at the local kindergarten to being a stand in parent. It was hard, having to readjust, having to explain to his nephew that his parents weren’t coming back, to try and calm his niece who’d cry for her parents’ way of calming her. Sylvio had finally understood that his uncle was going to take care of him and his sister from then on, he seemed to grow up. He was only 4, Lance hated that he felt like he should be the one help take care of Nadia when all he should be concerned with was living as a 4 year old. Lance had sent the ashes of Marco and his wife Lisa to Florida to live with his parents after he’d find Sylvio staring at the urn for hours.
“Sure buddy. You need to tell them about all you’ve been up to.”
“We’re about to start boarding for Flight 239 from Los Angles to Florida. Please look at your ticket for your boarding group number. We’d like to invite our first class flyers and membership flyers to start boarding.”
“Grab our tickets buddy.” Lance instructed as he fitted Nadia into the front carrier, feeling her little breaths against his chest. “What number we got?”
“1!” Sylvio called, showing off the tickets to his uncle.
“That’s right. You hold on tight to that ok? I’ll hold our bag alright?”
“We now invite group 1 to board.”
“That’s us! Let’s go Uncle Lance.” Sylvio said, jumping from his seat and running to the line. Lance smiled apologetically to the people who’d been cut off by Sylvio. The flight attendants smiled down at Sylvio as they took the tickets and scanned them before pointing then in the right direction.
“Whoa, buddy, not so fast.” Lance said as Sylvio ran down the corridor to the plane.
“Hello little one.” The flight attendant at the entrance said, helping Sylvio onto the plane. “What’s your name?”
“Sylvio. That’s my sister Nadia and my Uncle Lance.”
“Is it your first time on a plane?”
“Yeah! I’m going to see my granny.”
“Oh, well when you go see her, you’ll have to show her this.” The flight attendant pulled out a pin of wings and attached it to Sylvio’s shirt.
“Uncle Lance, look!”
“Looking good buddy. Can you ask her where our seat is?”
“Oh, where are we sitting?” Sylvio asked, letting the flight attendant look at the ticket.
“You’re number 12 B which means you’re on the left. Do you know where your left hand is?”
“Yes!” he relied holding up his left hand.
“Let’s go buddy. Thank you.”
Using his left hand, Sylvio counted the chairs they passed slowly, Lance reminding him which numbers came next. They reached their seats and Lance had Sylvio climb into the seat by the window when he realised he had a problem. Nadia was still on his chest and he had to lift the carry on suitcase into the overhead bin. He could take her off and lay her down in the seats, but he could feel her start to squirm and he didn’t trust Sylvio to keep her still.
“Do you need help?” Lance looked to see the person standing behind him. he only had a backpack on, his sweatshirt drowning him.
“Um, if you could? I don’t want to risk hitting her.”
“Of course, back up a bit.” Like the suitcase weighed nothing, he picked it up and slid it into the overhead bin. Once it was set, he gestured for Lance to sit down. He waited for Lance the sit in his seat next to Sylvio before pulling his bag off and sitting next to him.
Their seat was the one right after the last first class seat so in no time, Sylvio climbed off his seat and sat on the floor. Lance didn’t say anything as it would still be some time until he had to sit his nephew down again and focused on making sure Nadia’s baby bag, that also held his laptop and tablet he’d given to Sylvio for the trip was under his seat. He didn’t want to have to shove it in the overhead bin. He saw that their aisle mate was the same, shoving his bookbag under his seat.
“Excuse me,” one of the flight attendants asked, “we have basinets if you want one for your daughter?”
“Niece and thank you.” Lance said, patting Nadia as she started to whine a little.
“You probably have time to feed her before we take off.” Their aisle mate said.
Lance looked over at him. he’d stripped his sweatshirt, not bothering to fix his shirt, which even its mess showed his fit figure. He also noticed how long his hair was. It was past his shoulders and looked really soft. He hoped Nadia didn’t spot it. Lisa had long hair so Nadia was used to long hair being near her when she was being held.
“She already ate. Thankfully she got hungry before we had to board.”
The guy looked down at Sylvio who was looking under the seats. “You having fun down there?”
“Uh huh!”
He let out a small laugh, smiling at Sylvio. Thank god, he seemed to like kids. “Cute kid.”
“It’s in his genes. We McClains are adorable.”
“I’m sure.”
Everyone was seated and Lance had coaxed Sylvio up to his seat for take-off. Their aisle mate offered him gum to help with the pressure build-up, letting Sylvio take an extra one. Nadia had dozed off and Lance hoped she’d stay like that for a while. Sylvio’s eyes were glued to the open window as the plane went down the runway and started to pick up speed.
“We’re going fast!”
“Keep chewing buddy, it’ll help your ears.” Lance said.
Soon the plane tipped up and they took off. Sylvio’s chewing slowed as he watched the world below the plane grow smaller. Lance glanced down as Nadia’s face scrunched up. He gently shushed her, hoping she stayed asleep. As they got higher though, she moved around more and woke up crying. Lance groaned in his head. Crying baby and they weren’t allowed to move around yet, just his luck.
Sylvio, thank god, turned away from the window and started asking his sister what was wrong. Usually it would calm her down slightly but Lance guessed the pressure was hurting her too much for her to pay attention to her brother.
“Is it the pressure bothering her?” His aisle mate asked.
“Yeah, I’m really sorry.”
“It’s fine, really. I know people get annoyed by it but babies can’t really control these things.”
Lance was extremely grateful of the understanding man. Finally the seatbelt sign turned off and Lance blocked out what the head flight attendant was saying as he undid his seatbelt and was let out by the still slightly ruffled man. “Sylvio, stay here ok?”
“Ok.”
Lance tried to ignore the looks he got as Nadia continued to cry. He hadn’t gotten the chance to grab her pacifier though he doubted she’d keep it in her mouth. He gently shushed her, bouncing as he tried to calm her down. Thankfully her cries lessened but she still whined loudly.
“Shh, shh, you’re ok.” He whispered when he saw the same man coming towards him. he moved away from the bathroom thinking he was heading there.
“Your, um, nephew, asked me check on you?”
“Sylvio yeah. He knows he can’t do it himself. You don’t have to.”
“I don’t mind. What’s her name?”
“Nadia.”
“Nadia.” He called, standing next to Lance. “Nadia.”
Hearing a new voice, Nadia tired looking for it, her whining quieting some.
“Do you want to try holding her?”
“If it’s ok.”
“Sure. Help me?” he asked, pointing to the buckle on his back.
It was unclipped and Lance slipped the handles off, keeping Nadia close to him. he let the other man take her, easily taking her into his arms.
“You’re pretty good.”
“My brother has a kid, I volunteered at their day-care.”
Nadia’s whining stopped as she stared up at the new face. She blinked and reached out her hand.
“Wait, Nadia, no!” Lance said as she gripped his hair, holding it firm in her grip. Her gaze was completely fixed on the long black strands in her fist. “I am so sorry. She has a thing with hair, she doesn’t let – no don’t put it in your mouth! Oh god, Nadia.”
“It’s ok. I mean there are worse ways to spend a flight. I never did introduce myself, I’m Keith.” He said, his hand pulling Nadia’s fist away from her mouth.
“Lance, hi. Um, she’s not going to let go.”
“It’s ok, I don’t mind holding her. Besides, you still have your nephew to worry about.”
“Um, right. Thanks.” Lance pulled off the carrier entirely and lead them back to there seats where Sylvio stared at his sister in Keith’s arms.
“She liked his hair?”
“You know your sister. Do you want your tablet?”
“Yes please.”
“How old is he?” Keith asked letting Nadia stand on his lap so he wouldn’t risk her pulling out his hair.
“4.”
“He talks a lot for a 4 year old.”
“Another gene of McClains, we don’t have an off switch.” Lance said, opening the armrest to pull out the try for Sylvio, letting him navigate the tablet on his own. “So you volunteer at your um?”
“Nephew. I picked him up one day and was asked to stick around to help with something and the next thing I knew, I kept going back. I work in security so kids except my nephew I never thought were my forte. Turns out I’m not bad with them.”
“I can tell. I work at a kindergarten and I don’t think I’ve managed to calm a fussy kid down the quickly.”
“I guess you’d be good with kids. You got Sylvio very worried about you.”
Lance gained a pain smile on his face, “it for a different reason. Their parents died a while back. I went from babysitting uncle to new dad in a night.” Looking over at Sylvio who focused on the tablet. “Sylvio had to understand that so young. When I dropped him off to school on the first day back, he wouldn’t stop crying for hours and of course seeing her brother cry made Nadia sad.”
“That must have been a lot.”
Lance nodded. “It was. Parenting is terrifying enough. It’s hard but a smile from either of these two makes it feel worth it.”
“I know they must apr-Ow!” Keith was cut off when Nadia pulled on his hair.
“No Nadia.” Lance said, pulling her fist open, even though she whined. Keith sat her on his lap and gave her his hand to play with. “Again, really sorry.” He said, pushing Keith’s hair off his shoulders.
“Here’s that bassinet.” The flight attendant came and attached the carrier onto the wall in front of them, pressing down on it to make sure it was stable. “Let’s give your boyfriend’s lap a break.
“Oh, uh, he’s not my boyfriend.” Lance corrected, feeling his cheeks getting hot.
“What’s a boyfriend?” Sylvio asked, Lance frowning at him.
“Now you pull your attention from the tablet. Don’t worry about that silly.”
“Sorry, it’s just she seems so comfortable on his lap and he seemed so nice to you as you were boarding. My apologies. We’ll start the drink service soon.”
“Thank you.” Once the flight attendant left, Lance turned to Keith. “I honestly feel like all I’m doing is apologizing.”
Keith lifted Nadia off his lap and placed her in the basinet, watching her look around. “It’s ok. I can certainly say this is one of the most interesting flights I’ve been on.”
