ooh i love this question!! basically, there are lots of pokemon au thoughts on my mind but that’s beside the point rn ^^;

i generally love ghost/ psychic/ dark / dragon types and speedy special attackers of any types really but if i had to choose one type, i think i’d want to be a ghost-type trainer ^^ not only do i love a lot of ghosts but i also love the vibes heheh

i think i’d want to be an elite four member, not only bc i’d be higher in the hierarchy -for lack of a better word-, but i’d also get to isolate in my little room and fight trainers occasionally /j; i’d also get to use final evolutions and more mons overall (and we know i already don’t do well with choosing hshsh)

(i wouldn’t mind having my own badge though)

i would, however, be one of those assholes who uses mons not of their respective type (i’m looking at you lance) since i want to have a zoroark heheh

- aegislash is just plain cool. period.

- gengar is just plain cool— (and a potential mega evolution)

- froslass with snow cloak would be an absolute nightmare if i could set up hail but idk if i’d waste a turn on it (unfortunately sableye only learns rain dance and sunny day)

- the last slot is still open; trevenant is very very cool but another mon that’s weak to fire ㅠㅠ (though a chandelure with flash fire could be switched into any fire attack i guess) prankster sableye could set up some annoying things like will-o-wisp or stall with recover but otherwise doesn’t bring a lot of offence (mega sableye would also be an option but i reckon an elite four member doesn’t usually need to reflect toxic spikes etc)

- mimikyu is a little gimmicky i guess but would also be another ground weakness; banette is just here bc it is interesting and another mega option; i would also be open to using a more practical choice but i’m obviously biased (also i guess most elite fours have 5 mons only but i want to use all my options hshsh)

- ceruledge, spectrier and dragapult also look cool and dragapult would bring a new type into play but i haven’t used any of them yet since i didn’t want to give gamefreak money for the new games (+ ceruledge would match chandelure’s typing)

Three soft knocks at your door beckon your attention.

Getting up and opening the door seems too daunting of a task at the moment, so the best response you can conjure up is a grunt of affirmation. Or dismissal. Honestly, it could be taken either way. Your opinion is neutral on that subject.

You are certain if your vision wasn’t obscured by your arm you would be able to pair the soft click of the door opening with the image of Jisung, clad with a tense mouth and furrowed brows, peeking tentatively into the room. You make no effort to move your arm.

No words are spoken, but the soft padding of socked feet across the carpet speak volumes. He walks quickly but quietly, taking care not to step on the pile of clothes in front of your bed, or the broken alarm clock that rests under a suspicious dent in the wall.

His presence settles over you as he sets himself down on the bed. Close enough that you can feel the dip of the mattress but far enough so that you can’t feel his warmth.

You’re not sure how long you lie there, listening to Jisung’s steady whistles of breath. You know you could roll over right now and bury your worries in his embrace. The thought of his fingers carding through your hair whilst murmuring a gentle tune makes you briefly consider throwing yourself on him like some small child.

Before you can make up your mind, you feel a tap on your arm. A question.

Upon peering over the edge of your arm with eyes you’re quite sure are bloodshot, you are met with Jisung’s troubled eyes. A pang of guilt rockets through your stomach. You’re worrying him. Gaze mingling between your own, he searches for something, any sign of what you might need from him. You close your eyes, unable to face his concern.

Once again free from the prying eyes of the world, you relax your arm, and it falls from your face to the bed with a quiet thump.

A touch. So slight you might have mistaken it for a shift in the air. Fingers ghost up your arm and across your cheek, settling under your chin. Jisung presses his mouth to your temple, lingering for several moments before pulling back.

His touch is comforting and his kiss is warm, but all too quickly the sparks fade to the back of your mind, leaving the fog to settle once again.

Gathering up your willpower, you pull yourself onto your knees, looking up at him. You wonder if he realizes that he crinkles up the edges of his nose when he’s worried. Jisung’s arms spread open, offering you his embrace to which you retreat so often. Nothing can hurt you there.

You all but hurl yourself onto him, small, shaky breaths finally releasing from your lungs as he captures you between his arms. He folds himself over you, tracing circles across your trembling back, keeping your troubles at bay until you still beneath his fingertips.

Maybe it’s best to try again tomorrow.

Exploring some concepts for a slightly older Ghost!! I imagine them as about 8-9ish during the game.

I’ve been neglecting them in most of my AUs lmao, I think it’s time for some Ghost centric stuff shxhxjxj (also they’re VERY fun to draw)

After killing the Radiance, the siblings take some time to rest and recuperate, and at some point decide to try and rebuild Hallownest. Hornet takes over Deepnest, taking her rightful place as Queen, while Hollow becomes king of Hallownest. While Ghost is technically the crown prince, it’s more in name than anything, as they would rather run the Path of Pain handcuffed in the dark than have that kinda responsibility (also they’re like. 13 by this point)

Some tidbits about their design and this AU for those interested:

- They resemble their mother more than PK, and as a result their horns are more like branches and grow to resemble antlers!!

- They also have a faint wood grain pattern all over their body

- Vessels typically have small glowing white dots on their bodies, and darker spots on their face and horns (I’ve been referring to them as soul spots and void freckles shbxxn), and you can generally tell whether they’re more proficient in soul magic or void magic depending on how many of either they have!!

(E.g. Hollow has a few void freckles, but they are COVERED in soul spots, meanwhile Ghost has a few soul spots but they have a TON of void freckles).

When they come into their power as Shade Lord, Ghost’s soul spots are swallowed by their void, and as they get older more void freckles appear until their horns are entirely black.

- I like the idea of Ghost’s power as SL showing in their physical form more as they get older, like their mortal body can’t contain their entire being, so it leaks out in the form of wispy void hair, void freckles, etc etc

- When they started rebuilding, there became a sudden need for formal clothing once again, so Hornet raids every closet in the White Palace to cannibalise the different dresses and robes into something presentable (luckily Ghost fits into most of Hornet’s old stuff)

(Assume the White Palace appears again at some point (finding PK’s corpse is a VERY fun time for Holly ahahaha))

- With the discovery of kingdoms beyond the Wastelands (via Silksong), the siblings start reaching out in the hopes of establishing some trade routes, and getting some help with the rebuilding effort

This opens some opportunities for visits from neighbouring royals (and pooossibly some new friends for Ghost, they need to meet people their age lmaooo)

Red Dwarf hologram lore is so good. (Honestly maybe I'm so impressed just because I've never seen holograms used quite in this way before, I should expand my horizons)

The whole "you're an ai ghost owned by a corporation" is already a great concept,

I also love how a lot of the other great stuff came about simply because of convenience, like the lightbee (Which I just think is such a cool thing) because they wanted to use Rimmer in the off-ship stories (I think they must have given him an antenna on the hat in sIII for that reason, but then realized that the antenna would also be a hologram & so kind of useless & had to come up with something else). While on the Dwarf, Rimmer's intangibility could be accommodated by Holly or the scutters, but as the show moved on to space exploration/adventure it's probably gotten harder to write around it. (In sV half the episodes introduce some kind of condition that makes him appear relatively tangible)

Also apparently RD came up with the term "Hard Light". I had no idea. (Obviously they didn't come up with the idea of solid light, just specifically calling it "Hard Light" vs "Soft Light") And I feel like I see it being used basically everywhere these days. (Don't have a solid source on that but if it's true, that's so cool!)

made some vessel designs for the au! well, it's a bit complicated since most of them are dead, but i wanted to see what they could look like if they were able to grow up like holly did. also included my oc, moss, cause i wanted to give them a refreshed design

now, that doesn't mean those vessels are alive in the au (as for moss, i'm still debating whether i want them to be part of it or not). but i think those make for a fun "what if" scenario

While most vessels generally keep a similar body plan (two legs, two to four arms, and a slender body), some of them bear closer resemblance to either of their parents. This also applies to their height - those that share more traits with their father, Wyrm, tend to be shorter, although there are exceptions

Pure Vessel / Holly - their body resembles that of Wyrm, although they lack a tail. They're tall and possess white markings on their body and mask inherited from The White Lady

The Knight / Little Ghost - the shortest of the vessels pictured, similarly to their sealed sibling, they bear close resemblance to their father, although they're noticeably more slender once grown up

Broken Vessel / Lost Kin - they share the most traits with Wyrm, including an additional pair of arms, plantigrade feet and a more stocky build. Their tail looks very similar to The White Lady's roots, possessing additional nubs. Although they seemingly share Wyrm's eyebrows, they are immobile and serve only as facial markings

Greenpath Vessel - a vessel which bears striking resemblance to their mother, with tentacle-like limbs instead of legs, and hands lacking distinct fingers. Just like Pure Vessel, their mask is covered in white markings

Moss - they closely resemble Little Ghost, both in appearance and in height. Their horns are asymmetrical and one of them is noticeably shorter than the other. They share Broken Vessel's root-like tail, although it's much shorter

CHAT PAUSE, I MIGHT BE ONTO SOMETHING (or once again might be clowning)

THE DEATH CURSE IS NOT REAL!!

‼️S4 SPOILERS AHEAD‼️

I’ve spent the last 24 hours stressing over that fact that JJ is part of a family with a death curse on them… BUT THE CURSE PROBABLY DOESN’T EVEN EXIST!!

I apologize in advance ‘cause this is gonna be long, like looooong but follow me.

Wes Genrette (basically JJ’s grandpa) is the one who seemed the most convinced about the curse on his family probably because he never recovered from the sudden and tragic death of his daughter and that’s when he started believing in it, remember how Hollis told Rafe that the land on Goat Island remained untouched for a long time for generations and ALL OF A SUDDEN they now think it’s hunted and wand to get rid of it? There you go! It started with Larissa Genrette’s death.

HOWEVER is it really hunted? Ok Wes Genrette died like he knew he would, BUT he didn’t just drop dead in an unexplainable manner after supposedly seeing the ghost…HE WAS CONFIRMED TO BE MURDERED, STRANGLED BY A REAL PERSON!!

But who did it?

One thing that the forensic doctor also said to Shoupe is that the body found on the beach died in the same way by the same hands, so it means it’s a recurring method used by the killer…and do you remember how Cleo was about to get killed when taken hostage and Pope almost didn’t arrive on time? EXACTLY! PINNED DOWN TO THE FLOOR GETTING STRANGLED!!!

The man that went to the shop to ask “you’re those treasure hunting kids” and tried to kill JJ and Kie underwater and then also took Cleo is the one behind the killings, is he the main villain? Absolutely not! As we’ve seen he’s clearly being used to do the “dirty work” and taking orders, working for the main villain.

And who is the main villain? ALL OF THEM!!

Let me explain better, I think that Dalia (the British lady who’s the killer boss), Chadler Groff (JJ’s biological father) and Hollis Robinson (the real estate developer) are all working together orchestrated by Chandler.

Let’s take it step by step because there’s so much I unpacked (or think I did lol) and I hope I can make it understandable.

One of the major plot twists at the end of part 1 that we are not putting enough attention on is the fact that we see Chandler Groff and Hollis Robinson working together AND ACTUALLY IT IS A BIG REVEAL!!!

It’s big because it explains the whole motive behind the villains goal for this season’s plot.

You remember what business deal Hollis was making with Rafe? What her estate development plan is about? YEAH, GOAT ISLAND!

Chandler Groff and Hollis Robinson (who are also most likely together in a romantic relationship) are after Goat Island and becoming the owners of that land that’s worth a fortune.

The only thing in the way with that? The Genrette’s family!

Goat Island is property of the Genrette’s family and has been for generations and they are the only rightful heir to the mansion and land, Chandler however is only a son in law and a acquired family member by marriage, he is not a descendant of the family and therefore he doesn’t have any claim over the property as long as a member of the Genrette’s family is alive to inherit the island!

This brings us to the fact that Chandler is the one behind both Larissa’s (and also attempted JJ/Jackson) and Wes deaths, why? Because they were all direct heir to Goat Island before him. Now they’re all gone and he’s the only surviving member of the family who can legally claim the land in the eyes of the law. A tale as old as time, family killing family for the inheritance.

This also brings us to why and how JJ ended up with Luke.

I think at this point it’s pretty safe to say that Chandler killed his own wife Larissa and planned to kill their son (JJ) along with her, masking the whole thing as an accidental drowning but of course we know that the kid survived, JJ is right there.

My theory is that Luke Maybank either used to work for the Genrette’s family doing whatever maintenance job on the property (remember how in the first episode Chandler said to the Pogues that many people worked there over the years and never seemed to stick around for long?) or simply he had some sort of rapport with Larissa and therefore Luke is the one who found newborn JJ alive on Goat Island, which clearly wasn’t in Chandler’s plan who wanted him dead along with Larissa.

To get rid of him quickly before Wes Genrette found out that his nephew survived, Chandler probably offered Luke some money and a house on the Cut (or whatever he found convenient) to just take the kid with him and tell everyone it was his, a Maybank.

And the question everyone has been asking themselves since the reveal: why did Luke take this kid if he clearly didn’t want him and abused him for his whole life? My personal theory over this is that 1. As I said he was probably offered something convenient for him and as we know he is an opportunistic asshole 2. Luke actually said something important while revealing the truth to JJ, he said “I did it to help Larissa” which makes me think that perhaps Luke and Larissa actually did have an affair and Luke truly loved her (or at least he felt some sort of affection for her) so when Chandler Groff tried to get rid of his own son, Luke must have clocked that he was the one behind Larissa’s death and tried to do the same with their kid and therefore Luke realized that Chandler would’ve probably still killed JJ if he didn’t take him away, so he did and took Larissa’s son just for her sake and because he loved her…which also explains why in S1 Luke says to JJ something along the lines of “sorry that sometimes I’m like this, it’s just that you remind me of your mother” and gets triggered ‘cause he loved her and she’s dead.

Another important thing that Luke says to JJ in the reveal is “I guess the old man figured it out eventually” referring to Wes and the letter he wrote to JJ before dying, which explains that Wes never had any idea that his nephew was alive up until recently.

This brings us to where we left things off, the Pogues have completely abandoned the necklace part of the treasure ‘cause they are just left at “ok Wes is dead, our deal is done and we got the 5k byeee” and moved on to the blue crown for personal reasons ‘cause it’s worth a fortune…however once they find out about JJ’s affiliation to the Genrette’s family and to the curse, they’re gonna get focused on retrieving the necklace again to break the curse and save JJ.

Chandler is gonna take advantage of that making JJ believe he’s next for the curse and hopefully killing him with this excuse like he did for the other family members, and while the Pogues are distracted with the necklace he will go after the blue crown which technically also is part of JJ’s family fortune since they are related to the captain who killed Blackbeard and took over his ships.

He’ll do that with the help of the mercenaries led by Dalia with whom he probably made a deal and promised part of the treasure, if not the necklace itself which is why the Pogues will struggle to get it back and focus more on fighting with those mercenaries to retrieve it.

Now Chandler still doesn’t know that JJ has discovered that truth and he’s playing nice with the Pogues, he still thinks that JJ will live the rest of his life convinced of being a Maybank, but once JJ confronts him about it the truth then his true colors are gonna show and the Pogues will probably figure it out that this curse doesn’t even exist and it was Chandler all along who played into it and took advantage of this old legend to get away with all his murders of the Genrette’s family.

This also would explain why in the end we see Rafe and the Pogues working together in Morocco, they’re gonna find out that Chandler and Hollis fucked over the both of them together (Hollis is definitely scamming Rafe so they can use the Cameron’s money for the investments) and Rafe is gonna propose to Pogues “hey let’s join forces and go after them”.

I hope I explained what my thoughts are clearly enough, sorry if some part weren’t easy to follow but English isn’t my first language and I try my best, and although I gotta admit I am patting myself on the back a little ‘cause it does make sense, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THOSE ARE JUST MY THEORIES AND SPECULATIONS, IT’S STILL NOTHING CERTAIN SO TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!!

Finally finished reading The Prisoner’s Throne (after owning the book for months, adulting sucks) and my thoughts are:

This book was infinitely better than The Stolen Heir. 🤲🏻

Oak had a lot more character depth than Wren IMO, I could understand why he did what he did (not completely, but definitely easier to connect with than her). He also had a good arc and development.

The Elfhame and High Court parts gave me life

HK:EP Fun Fact #8

Mystery is really good at cooking. It has multiple recipes it’s made on its own. Because it doesn’t have any taste buds though, it has Promise, Deliverance, Ette, or whoever else volunteers to taste test its food before it finishes the recipe. It lived on its own for a few years when it was travelling back to Hallownest, so it has a lot of experience with cooking! That and Ette taught it a lot, since she also lived alone for a while, and had adopted three kids (that being Mystery, Promise and Deliverance).

Holly, on the other hand, fucking sucks at cooking. Mystery has tried more than once to teach them how to cook, but it’s always ended up in something going wrong. Most frequently she just completely flubs the recipe, but sometimes she does almost burn down her house.

Amy does the cooking for them. With either Hornet’s or Mystery’s help, of course; he’s not the best at cooking either. He tries though.
