Hello friends. This blog is a total and utter mess filled with TV shows, cartoons, comics, rock and roll and many, many bad puns. If any of that takes your fancy, stop on by for a spell. I'd love to have you.

"missed all of your vital organs" is such a scathing injury report if that happened to me i would never let the person who maimed me live it down. you had a 1 in 7 chance and more than 50% of my body's surface area to target and you fucking blew it. cope and seethe over my unperforated heart, lungs, brain, liver, kidneys, pancreas, small intestine and large intestine you fucking idiot. you incompetent fool.

"I need a fic about this!"
but have you commented on an existing fic today? have you left guest kudos today on that fic you've already kudos-ed before but can't stop coming back to? have you shared a writer's post today?
have you supported your writers today such that they feel encouraged enough to write the fic you are asking for tomorrow?

being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

The Odyssey isn’t the last Greek myth, but it is the sort of. Last great story of the Greek heroic age. There’s a rough chronology to the stories of Greek myth, and while you can broadly shuffle things around in it, it ends with the Trojan War and the Odyssey. We used to have a few stories about the generation after Odysseus, the Telegony and the Oresteia, but most of them are lost now. The stories that survive are history and known things that were true.
The Odyssey marks a sea change (ha) in the fabric of storytelling. The epic age of Heracles, Perseus, and Theseus, the monster-slayers and the moral myths, are done. Those all belong to an old world, a distant time. The Odyssey is the last story of that world, and marks the beginning of a new one.
And there’s something poignant — I think — that the new age begins with a story about a man coming home.

go on more walks. walk for no reason. walk to solve a problem. walk to blow off steam. walk to get outside. walk to listen, read, and learn. walk to escape distractions. walk to improve your health. walk to think. a simple walking habit can change absolutely everything.

sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and put "text your friend whom you love and genuinely want to talk to" on your to-do list because otherwise it is not getting done
