Oof. Can't believe it's been 4 years 🤦‍♀️

Unfortunately, Eloise (and all my writing) stalled out and has not been finished. There were various reasons why (that I won't get into), then I went back to school, got my education degree, and started working as a teacher. Now, I'm slowly starting to return to my writing, but I don't have any idea when things will be finished. Sorry.

I have a lot of respect for the guy who did the study about wolves, the one that came up with "alpha wolves". Because normally when you fuck up science, it just causes some delays and occasional pop-sci nonsense.

Dude fucked up science so badly he invented an entire new genre of pornography. I can only dream of being so influential.

A girl, trained to be soft from birth. Fur white and pristine, eyes wide, actions so delicate and modest.

He looks down and sees an opportunity.

So he appears to her as a sheep, ulterior motives hidden until his new boy falls for it.

And of course he does. He goes home, not to a pretty burrow, but to the basement of that wolves house.

He is tied to filth. Filth he has no clue how to take. But of course will learn.

Now he is flithy. Unshaven, scarred, and so very separated from the girl that was there.

And God, teeth and needles look so natural in his skin.

His love language is definitely gift giving, but he wouldn’t usually say the gift is from him. It would just appear at the person’s place. Like randomly, his friends get random tiny things, and they have no fucking clue where they come from??? And things they thought they lost appear again?? They must just think they are lucky at first.

Ok so I read TJ Klune's Wolf Song on the plane for my work trip and I have THOUGHTS I would like to discuss. (spoilers ahead)

So to start, I quite enjoyed it. There were portions that were just so lovely and lyrical and I fell in love with the found family dynamics and the fleshed out, 3-dimensional characters. The thing I'd heard from others as a negative, the age gap between Joe and Ox, didn't really bother me because I cut my teeth on fic and nothing sexual happened until they were in their 20's.

But.

Joe's character/decisions/the way he treated Ox drove me crazy. Did anyone else just want to throw the book across the room when you found out that three fucking years pass while Joe and half the fractured pack are cavorting around accomplishing nothing and not so much as texting updates to the rest of their grieving family?? Why? There was literally no reason given for it that made sense. And the supposed impetus for their return didn't seem all that pressing considering that the home-pack had been in danger multiple times during the prior THREE YEARS they'd been gone?? Did I MISS something??

Anyway.

I've already ordered the next book because I'm bought in, but can someone tell me if I should prepare for similar frustrations re Gordo and Mark because judging by the already established dynamic between them I fear I am going to be in another book-throwing mood at some point during this story too.

I liked the option from the old back, where Alpharius and Omegon were the last to be found. And they were quickly introduced to the realities of the Imperium. (According to the new back, as I understand it, only Omegon was found last, and Alpharius did not even leave Terra)
