i've said it before but i'll say it again. what the new dune movies did with chani & the changes they made were fucking beautiful & a good example of how to better round out & update female characters without coming off as hollow fanservice. they completely rehauled her character and motivations but in a believable way that has consequences for the Entire story which i think is brilliant. and i also really hope we see the same w irulan

I lied. Put ur clothes back on I’m going to talk about how women were solely made for oppression. The historical zeitgeist shows that men have always been in charge, no matter it being political, religious or cultural. Males have always held authority and power over women, while women were relegated to subordinate roles. This societal structure positioned women as dependent on males, often stripping them of the right to own property, vote or participate in decision making. Women’s reproductive roles are mostly used to control their bodies and choices. Historically women were seen primarily as childbearers, which led to policies and cultural norms that restricted their reproductive rights such as forced marriages, bans on birth control and criminalization of abortion. Women have been denied access to education, employment & financial independence in many societies. They were often excluded from formal schooling and barred from certain professions, keeping them economically dependent on males. Women were often defined by rigid gender roles, expected to be caretakers, homemakers and submissive wives. These roles were reinforced by laws, religion and social customs which restricted their ability to pursue careers, education or positions of power. This system is set up by males. Laws have historically discriminated against women in areas such as property rights, inheritance n legal standing. For exmpl, in many countries women couldn’t sign contracts, own property or initiate legal actions without a male guardian. Cultural and religious narratives often portrayed women as inferior or secondary to males. In some religious interpretations, women were seen as inherently sinful or responsible for the downfall of males, justifying their subjugation and control. Violence against women, including domestic abuse, rape, and honor killings, has been used as a tool of control and subjugation. In some societies, women were seen as property of their fathers or husbands, making it socially acceptable to exert control through violence (especially with all the incest, rape, pedophilia and forced *child* marriage in the monotheistic religions). Marriage laws have historically been used to control women’s sexuality and ensure male lineage. Practices like dowries, bride prices and laws requiring women to take their husband’s name are remnants of systems that viewed women as property or commodities.

Everyone in Chainsaw Man is trans. Except for Angel Devil, who got a character/gender customization screen before he started life on earth as a fiend and is therefore cis in the least binary way possible.

But no one transes kids. And on a more serious note have the TQ+ so internalized their emotional blackmail of "accept my gender identity or I might kill myself" that when they hear of a minor trying to commit suicide they refuse to consider other issues therefor sabotaging recovery?
By Reduxx Team July 19, 2024
A family from Maryland has accused the Children’s National Hospital of encouraging their autistic teenage son to identify as a “girl.” The biologically male child was then taken from his family’s care due to their refusal to “validate” his transition, and has now been placed in the home of the Hospital’s non-binary “chaplain,” who has connections to Assistant Secretary of Health, Rachel Levine.
The lawsuit, which was filed in March by Maryland couple John Doe II and his wife, states that their 16-year-old autistic son was admitted to the hospital after a suicide attempt in November 2021. Shortly after his admission, the parents allege that hospital staff began to insist their son was transgender, despite the boy never questioning his gender identity before his hospital stay.
According to a press release issued by Partners for Ethical Care, the suit claims that the hospital “intentionally set out on a … program to identify, critique and then rebuke the family’s professed religion… [and] to expressly require the parents to convert to the ‘new Christianity’ by engaging in faith-conversion sessions with the hand-selected [hospital] chaplain not of any of the Doe family’s faith, Lavender Kelley.”
Kelley, a biological female who identifies as non-binary transgender, has repeatedly posted in support of the medical transitioning of children against the wishes of their families.
“I’m so drained from watching children die because their families don’t understand the science of gender or the psychology of coercion or the damage of weaponized religion. And to see government be not just merely unhelpful but outright violating means only more suicides and profound mental anguish to come,” she wrote on Facebook in March 2022, only two months after the family were told in CPS court proceedings that their son would only be allowed home if they affirmed his new trans identity and stopped reading “particular passages” of the Bible at home.
Tumblr media
“Even if you don’t agree with gender affirming therapies, please, please, please know that they stave off suicides and give children space to grow up and grow into authentic identity,” she continued in the post. “There’s nothing that’s done in gender affirming therapies for children and adolescents that isn’t 100% reversable [sic] if they change their mind. We’re buying them time to understand the complexities of gender but in a way that promotes psychological growth along the way,” Kelley continued.
Despite her insistence otherwise, “gender-affirming” therapies such as hormone treatment lead to permanent effects.
Prior to being placed directly with Kelley, the boy had been released into the home of a foster carer, one who is alleged to have been a close personal friend of Kelley.
The suit claims that the “foster mother” had a previous assault charge in Maryland, and began “exploiting” the teenage boy by posing him as a female in Instagram photos, despite allegedly writing that he “did not want to be a woman.”
Disturbingly, after being tested for sexually transmitted diseases in the summer of 2022, the boy was once again hospitalized for a suicide attempt.
The suit further adds that the “foster mother” suddenly died, and as a result, the teen was rehoused into the care of hospital Chaplain Kelly herself, where the parents claim he still resides to this day to the best of their knowledge, despite having turned 18 in March of last year.
In another Facebook post from June 2023, during the time period that the suit alleges the boy was living with Kelly, the chaplain and her partner are pictured at an event at the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, with transgender Assistant Health Secretary Admiral Rachel Levine.
Levine has been one of the most vocal proponents of the medical transitioning of children. “Gender-affirming care is life-saving, medically necessary, age-appropriate, and a critical tool for healthcare providers,” Levine said in June 2022. “As a pediatrician, when it comes to making sure kids are healthy and happy, I know how important care that affirms someone’s true identity can be.”
Even though a judge found in August of 2023 that abuse charges brought against the parents by the hospital were unsubstantiated, the parents have not had their son returned to them.
“This is the craziest case I’ve ever had,” said the family’s lawyer, Mr. Amos Jones in March. “I don’t know why there are people who think this makes sense. But I guess lots of people agree with this in Washington D.C. now… There is a sensitive way to welcome and serve families caring for a child struggling with identity concerns. Instead, this hospital decided to disregard the parents’ rights, and the oppression has operated over a period that now spans four years.”

Apparently I have watched The Birdcage, with my family no less! I'd seen it referred to here but never connected the dots that it was the same movie I'd watched many years ago on tv, probably when I was a teenager.
I don't remember my parents' reaction to it but since I'd seen some of it and no one changed the channel, they were at least engrossed enough to watch? They can be cool about stuff sometimes, they are just very unpredictable about it.
#Rant#Personal#My parents are weird#My dad is sexist as in he believes in gender roles and frowns upon any type of effeminate behaviour in men#but he also believes that all women should be hashtag girlbosses#My mom reads/watches things with queer people all the time (she doesn't actively seek it but she doesn't get scandalised or whatever by it)#And she and my sister once had a conversation in which she said people should accept their queer kids and when my sister raised the#'hypothetical' whether she would do the same....she said yes?#Which.....um. That lady gets antsy when women don't wax their leg hair. Even complete strangers.#She and dad get weird about bra straps showing. You're telling me they are a-okay with their kids being bi??#Also what about the gender stuff#They are cool about muslims and yesterday my dad even tried to rationalise with his colleague about how they face so many disadvantages#and mom keeps bragging about her multi-religious college friend group#But then they also say things like 'I once went to a muslim colleague's house and it was /clean/. You couldn't even /tell/'#They obviously also are against casteism but then they turn around and spew some brahmin-manufactured religious bullshit#While being kind of meh about religion in general#Like I don't understand this on-the-fence behaviour. They clearly understand oppression. Why still cling to the status quo then?#They understand that women deserve financial freedom. queer people (sexuality based at least) deserve basic rights.#muslims deserve not to be harassed.#Why not take the next step and examine your own biases about these communities then?#I know the answer ofc. It's because they think they are 'progressive' and so they don't have any biases ever#It's frustrating. I want to come out. I'm tired.#But I can't. I can't speak about politics.#I can't even say 'hey. you know my male friend from college who wore a saree to our graduation? I thought he looked rad#and every day I wish I had his bravery'#Ughhhh sorry for this

yandere prison..
runs normally, but the warden hired very specific people
and you just got falsely accused of a heinous crime
Yandere!Prison x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few years back I actually wanted to make a dating sim with a similar premise! So I might just redraw my old cover and recycle the characters, haha. content: gender neutral reader, violence
You've been accused of a crime you didn't commit. Even worse, you were speedily shipped to a maximum-security prison, despite your horror and your desperate protests. Your lawyers are scrambling to get you out as soon as possible, but it's not a guarantee.
You thought you'd be killed within the first moments after arriving. The three men you're sharing a cell with, however, turned out to be reasonable enough. Unexpectedly so.
The blonde one greeted you with a wide, merry smile. He's the friendliest of the bunch, despite his heavily scarred features. One of them seems to wear a mask at all times, and he doesn't speak much. The last one is polite, though he keeps his distance. His answers are curt and to the point.
You quickly noticed that all other inmates avoid you religiously. The tables empty when you put down your lunch tray, and during breaktime the yard fluctuates with people migrating to whatever corner is farthest away from you.
Today, you finally found out why: one of the prisoners happened to bump into you, and he promptly fell to his knees, begging you to not mention it to your cellmates. You are apparently sleeping next to the leaders of the biggest gang around. Even the guards are terrified to approach them the wrong way; the last one to do so was placed on permanent medical leave.
And yet, they are nice to you. In fact, you'd go as far as to say they're strangely protective of you, always looking out for your safety and hovering in your vicinity like trained dogs.
On your way back, you find the inmate who pleaded for your silence; his head nearly cracked open, held against the bathroom sink by your beloved blonde bunkie.
"Oops! You weren't supposed to see this," he laughs awkwardly. "Why don't you return to our room? I'll join you in a moment."
He flashes you his usual smile, innocent and somewhat silly. This time it appears particularly eerie, given it's stained by fresh splatters of blood.

In general, twitter cares more about looking good than being right, and because they value the AESTHETIC more than the reality, there is absolutely no amount of times that a creator can turn directly to the camera and say "I don't care about shipping and fanfiction is fine" and have it get through to them. Because saying they're uncomfortable with it and then harassing people who ship gives the AESTHETIC of a "pure" fandom fighting to "protect" their creators. And selling that look and feeling to yourself can honestly feel really good.
phannie twitter: stop shipping dan and phil it makes them uncomfortable stop saying they kiss on the mouth :(

'We Can Bury Anyone': Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine (Megan Twohey and Mike McIntire and Julie Tate, The New York Times, Dec 21 2024)
"Last summer, as the release of “It Ends With Us” approached, Justin Baldoni, the director and a star of the film, and Jamey Heath, the lead producer, hired a crisis public relations expert.
During shooting, Blake Lively, the co-star, had complained that the men had repeatedly violated physical boundaries and made sexual and other inappropriate comments to her.
Their studio, Wayfarer, agreed to provide a full-time intimacy coordinator, bring in an outside producer and put other safeguards on set.
In a side letter to Ms. Lively’s contract, signed by Mr. Heath, the studio also agreed not to retaliate against the actress.
But by August, the two men, who had positioned themselves as feminist allies in the #MeToo era, expressed fears that her allegations would become public and taint them, according to a legal complaint that she filed Friday.
It claims that their P.R. effort had an explicit goal: to harm Ms. Lively’s reputation instead.
Her filing includes excerpts from thousands of pages of text messages and emails that she obtained through a subpoena.
These and other documents were reviewed by The New York Times. (…)
Mr. Baldoni was best known for the CW satirical romantic dramedy “Jane the Virgin.”
Wayfarer provided the resources for bigger ambitions. It was bankrolled by the billionaire Steve Sarowitz, who is co-chair of the studio with Mr. Baldoni.
They and Mr. Heath, the chief executive, are all deeply involved with the Baha’i religious organization, which promotes unity, peace and gender equality.
Mr. Baldoni has presented himself as an ally to women, writing books, co-hosting a podcast with Mr. Heath and giving talks on toxic masculinity. (…)
She claimed Mr. Baldoni had improvised unwanted kissing and discussed his sex life, including encounters in which he said he may not have received consent.
Mr. Heath had shown her a video of his wife naked, she said, and he had watched Ms. Lively in her trailer when she was topless and having body makeup removed, despite her asking him to look away.
She said that both men repeatedly entered her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed, including when she was breastfeeding. (…)
As the film release neared, Ms. Lively and other cast members informed Sony and Wayfarer that they would not do any appearances alongside Mr. Baldoni.
So did Ms. Hoover, the author, who had her own dissatisfactions with him and had become more upset after he told her about Ms. Lively’s allegations, according to text messages from Mr. Baldoni and Mr. Heath.
By the first week of August, Wayfarer and Mr. Baldoni had retained Ms. Nathan, who had worked with high-profile clients including Mr. Depp, whose ex-wife, Amber Heard, accused him of physical abuse. (…)
Three days later, Mr. Baldoni texted Ms. Abel, flagging a social media thread that accused another celebrity of bullying behavior and had generated 19 million views. “This is what we would need,” he wrote.
Ms. Nathan soon floated proposals to hire contractors to dominate social media through “full social account take downs,” by starting “threads of theories” and generally working to “change narrative.”
“All of this will be most importantly untraceable,” she wrote. (…)
When Ms. Abel wrote to her Aug. 4 that “I’m having reckless thoughts of wanting to plant pieces this week of how horrible Blake is to work with. Just to get ahead of it,” Ms. Nathan replied that she had spoken off the record to an editor at The Daily Mail.
“She’s ready when we are,” Ms. Nathan wrote.
A flurry of articles followed the Hollywood Reporter piece. Many made it seem as if the only rift was over creative control.
Some journalists had gotten wind of complaints about Mr. Baldoni’s behavior, but none of the most serious ones were published.
“He doesn’t realise how lucky he is right now,” Ms. Nathan texted Ms. Abel. (…)
It is unclear exactly how Mr. Wallace operated.
There are references in emails to “social manipulation” and “proactive fan posting,” and text messages cite efforts to “boost” and “amplify” online content that was favorable to Mr. Baldoni or critical of Ms. Lively.
“We are crushing it on Reddit,” Mr. Wallace told Ms. Nathan, according to a text she sent Ms. Abel on Aug. 9.
The next day, one of Ms. Nathan’s employees texted, “We’ve started to see shift on social, due largely to Jed and his team’s efforts to shift the narrative.”
Ms. Nathan wrote to Ms. Abel: “And socials are really really ramping up. In his favour, she must be furious. It’s actually sad because it just shows you have people really want to hate on women.” (…)
On Aug. 16, Ms. Nathan shared the Daily Mail article headlined “Is Blake Lively set to be CANCELLED?” with references to ‘hard to watch’ videos and a ‘tone deaf’ promotional Q. and A.
“Wow. You really outdid yourself with this piece,” Ms. Abel responded.
“That’s why you hired me right?” Ms. Nathan replied. “I’m the best.”"

" 𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐎𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 "
Tumblr media
𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐄!𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋 𝐗 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 — pristine and perfect, filled with grace and elegance, yet tainted with greed . . greed for you . .
gender neutral reader / yandere oc x reader / slight religious themes?, I suppose it's a fictional religion, I'm still world-building / pathetic and submissive yandere / suggestive content? / he paints the reader as a source of comfort / stalking, which is conveniently described as 'adorable' and 'innocent' behavior /
masterlist | requesting rules | character info . . . a/n: ok so the person mentioned is supposed to be the God of this world, their introduction will also be out soon enough . . currently dropping hints here because world-building fun!!
Tumblr media
Takamoto was an Arch-angel, one of the highest ranked angels in heaven—he was pure and truly the definition of elegance, he was never greedy, and he was almost always seen smiling or happy. For he, was truly contempt with his life, and position.
Takamoto was always someone who had truly been satisfied with all that he was given, he never craved more—he always thought and frankly believed, that he had received all that he deserved and that he should be contempt with what he has. He never really had any passion or desire for anything more—he was grateful with everything—he believed all his hardships had reasoning behind it, and that it will all eventually be solved. In fact a part of him believed he deserved any hardship he came by.
Many would believe he was naive for that sort of mindset, and many angels did truly believe him to be just that, yet against all odds he rose up the ranks fairly quickly for this sort of mindset, and of course his loyalty to his beliefs. Takamoto was sweet, he'd help everyone out, and would introduce new souls, and angels throughout the lands of heaven on his free time, he'd help guide souls and his fellow angels everywhere he could . . yet things slowly changed when he first met you . .
Takamoto was visiting, what could only be described as the countryside of heaven, with vast green fields, cozy homes, acres of farmland, etc . . He was checking in for this years harvest, as per high courts orders . . when he saw you, you were so graceful, your wings sparkled in the light, you were radiant, you're eyes glimmered as both of your eyes met for a brief moment . . he felt his heart skip a beat. . his face was heating up slightly, his face dusted with shades of bright pink.
His mouth hung slightly open, as his gaze lingered on you figure, taking in the sight—your wings were lovely, much smaller than his . . were you a new soul? Perhaps you were a lower ranked angel and hence why you both never quite met . . He wanted to know more about you—he need to know more about you—where were you going? . . . and before he knew it, he found himself following you, trailing behind you silently.
He found himself frequenting areas he last saw you, it was all so innocent at first, many of his fellow coworkers described him as a young schoolboy in love, teasing him for his oh so adorable behavior . .
Takamoto didn't notice how much you were invading his life, he hadn't even been able to hold a proper sentence with you yet . . . but even then his thoughts consumed of you, whenever he did paperwork, he'd doodle your face, his room was filled with various portraits of you . .
He found himself overtime growing desperate, impure thoughts flooding his mind, greed sinking its claws into his sensitive and naive hurt—he was the utter picture of perfection, just look at him, he was everything an angel . . a human, anyone should be!?!? Why aren't you looking his way!— . . he took deep breaths, his own fingers digging into his skin, as he tried calming himself.
Gold drips from his arm, the bruise left from his fingers still fresh—golden blood stained his pretty pale fingers—pupils dilating as he took deep breaths, a ruined portrait of your face on the aisle, paint splatters surrounded him, tainting his legs, as a mirror lay broken on the floor.
"Fuck", he cussed softly, tears threatening to spill, his usually well-kept hair was a mess . . "why can't I draw them . . ?", he asked, his voice hoarse, as he tried his best to contain the anger he felt at that moment, "why can't I fucking draw them??", his nails dig into the floor, as the door creaked open.
You need to love him, you need to see him. He had never craved someone's validation, he deserved this, he deserved you! He could offer you everything, he was perfect! Everyone he knows, envied that about him . . surely you'd notice, you have too . .
He turned to face the person at the door, tears now dripping down his cheek, he mumbled something under his breath, before he started begging, "Please, please, help me . . my lord"

They also frequently threw queer cis women & trans mascs in psychiatric hospitals. Queer cis men & trans femmes would get sent to jail (or fined or placed under house arrest) and often chemically castrated for "deviant behavior", queer cis women & trans mascs would (usually) get locked in psych wards for their "delusions" instead. When ya know, they weren't just straight up murdering queer people for being queer. Because as pointed out above that was also very much happening.
I feel like some queer ppl & feminist allies who used to think wlw were (unlike mlm) never really oppressed (because they didn't receive the same level of vitriol, the erasure of their identities meant that anti-sodomy laws historically disproportionately affected men, ppl are less disgusted with female homosexuality etc.) only gained a surface-understanding of oppression (lesbians = oppressed because patriarchy) without learning anything at all about erasure and what it does to a community, and now that they struggle to understand transmasculine history & oppression it definitely shows.
#also i would like to point out that the 'sending someone to the psych ward for being queer thing' is very much still happening#and i don't just mean in countries where homosexuality is explicitly against the law either#i mean in the US (and I'm certain other countries as well) some families & communities are still doing this to their children#and yes i am certain it's still happening even to people from places where conversion therapy is technically illegal#children in the US have so few actual protections & rights#it is incredibly easy for parents to just send their gay kids off to a private facility in another state or country where it is legal#not to mention that religious schools & similar programs are incredibly poorly regulated in most of the US#like i've been listening to a podcast of stories of ex-anabaptists#and it's full of stories of people who were sent away or whose friends were sent away or who were coerciavlly medicated#for any sort of behavior that didn't align with the strict gender norms/roles of those communities#or for any sort of questioning of the church or independent thought#like this is very much a Problem in the US (and Canada) still today#it's just not the entirety of society#fundamentalist & evangelical christian communities are doing the same things#and i'm certain there are fundamentalist types in other religions as well engaging in the same sort of shit#i just happen to be more versed in christian fundamentalism bc of my own upbringing & current podcast interests
