OBSERVATION:

A lot of folks think the great commission - go to all the ends of the world - means the distant and exotic... 

...but here it's clear... the highways - 

like other drivers on the commute...

like those at the end of the exit ramps...

like those under the overpasses...

...and back alleys...

hidden from the usual walk...

hidden from the daily stream of life...

...and urge - try earnestly and persistently to persuade - people...

I can't force folks to "come in... so that [his] house will be filled..."

It's their decision after all...

...but I can - and should - be continuous, earnest, persistent in my words and actions...

...both to and for and with them directly...

...and to and for them in prayer...

APPLICATION:

Go...

...and urge.

PRAYER:

Inviting Father God - I ask forgiveness for not going and urging - for not following the Spirit's urging - for assuming the whole world is elsewhere when it's also immediately around me... May I remember to pray instead of look away, trusting in Your healing and helping for what I may see as helplessness and hopelessness, both in others and in my inability to do by forgetting Your infinite power and love and willingness to bless... Show me ways to urge, to lead to the door where Jesus stands ready to open and welcome... In His Name, and for Your praise and glory...
