It's crazy to me how my core political belief is "don't kill people" and this really pisses people off from every corner of the political spectrum.

Isaiah 9:6 (NLT) - For a Child is born to us, a Son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 (AMP). “For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
John 16:33 (NIV). “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
“Our Prince of Peace” By In Touch Ministries:
“Jesus came to provide a way for us to have a relationship with our heavenly Father.”
“The Christmas rush is here. There are plans to make, gifts to buy, and parties to attend. These activities can leave us exhausted—instead of experiencing peace and joy, we may feel overwhelmed because there’s too much to do. What’s more, this time of year can bring sad memories and loneliness. And maybe unrealistic expectations or conflicts with loved ones leave us discouraged.
How can Jesus be our Prince of Peace when we feel everything but peace? To understand why the Lord was given this title, we must first understand what it means. Jesus did not come to do away with all conflicts—not yet, anyway. One day He will return to earth and rule as King in an environment of external harmony. But He said that in this present life, we’d have trouble (John 16:33).
When Christ came to earth, His goal was to bring us peace by reconciling us to the Father. His death on the cross paid our sin debt in full, and our relationship with God is restored. Now Jesus offers us divine peace—an inner serenity that fills our heart and mind no matter what is going on in our circumstances.
Is your life characterized by a quiet assurance that guards your thinking and emotions all day long? Try setting aside time each day to fix your eyes upon Jesus. Then let Him heal your heart and calm your spirit.”

Sometimes I wonder what Heaven is like:
Maybe there's a room for all the gamers and Jesus is really good at Mario kart
Or a garden full of beautiful flowers and trees where all the book lovers and artists go. And Jesus talks with them about the book or art they're working on.
And the children play games with Jesus all the time.
Just a thought....

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?
8. THE PRINCE OF PEACE
In Hebrews 7, the Bible refers to Jesus as “a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” Melchizedek was the King of Salem, and Salem means peace. This is one of the reasons Jesus is called the Prince of Peace.
The devil has been at war with God’s people for a considerable time.
Revelation 12:7-9 (ESV) Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back,  but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.  And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
God created man in His image and likeness. In the Garden of Eden, man fell when the devil, as a serpent, tempted him to sin, and he yielded to temptation. Sin caused a separation between God and man because they obeyed God’s opponent – the devil.
However, Jesus, the son of God, came to restore peace. The peace that Jesus brings is between God and man.
Ephesians 2:14 (NLT) "For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us."
You can partake in this peace by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?
Say this prayer to invite Jesus into your life:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You into my heart and life.”
Now, join a sound, Bible-believing and practising church. Continue to study Jesus’s words and live as He wants His followers to live.

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭(NLT‬‬). “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Week One:
“In this Scripture we find the message and meaning of Christmas. Isaiah the prophet gave five awe-inspiring names of our Lord that encourage us, thrill us, and fill us with hope at this Christmas season.
Wonderful. When He did His many miracles, the Scripture says, “The people wondered” (Luke 11:14, KJV).
Counselor. The people said, “No one ever spoke the way this man does” (John 7:46, NIV).
The Mighty God. He is the God-Man. He said that He and the Father are one (John 10:30).
The Everlasting Father. It was by Him, the living Word, that all things were created. He is the designer of the whole universe (John 1:3; Hebrews 11:3).
The Prince of Peace. There will never be lasting peace on earth until He comes again to reign in righteousness. But He is also the Prince of Peace in other ways. None can have peace with God apart from Him and the peace that He made through the blood of His cross (Colossians 1:20).
The full meaning of these words from Isaiah should give us enough strength, hope, and joy to face any crisis, endure any sorrow, and meet any temptation.
How has Jesus shown you recently that He is “Wonderful, Counselor... the Prince of Peace”?
