I am like an owl in the desert, like a little owl in a far-off wilderness. —Psalm 102:6

I'm so genuinely heartened to see Pope Francis make this statement for the dignity and sanctity of Palestinian life.
The "Nativity of Bethlehem 2024" unveiled by Pope Francis, crafted by Palestinian artisans from Bethlehem, shows the infant Jesus laying on a Keffiyeh.
Around the star of Bethlehem above are the words "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men" (Luke 2:14) in both Latin and Arabic.
The Pope also made this statement:
It's so important this Advent to remember that Jesus was a Palestinian Jew, and that there is an ongoing genocide against the very people through which He came to us. We cannot contemplate Biblical Bethlehem without remembering the horrors that plague modern day Bethlehem.
On a personal note, as a trans Catholic-in-training, I've been pretty disappointed with Pope public statements recently on issues such as trans rights, so I'm glad to see him make a stance on the right side of history.

Our Lady of the Snows, carrying the warmth of the Christ Child close to your heart, pray for us!
This is a redo of a piece I made last year which I've wanted to update for a while!
The title "Our Lady of the Snows" stems from a legend wherein Mary appears to a Roman couple in a dream and tells them to build a church, and then dusts the summer ground with snow as a miraculous sign. The legend itself does not have a solid historical basis, but the title is beautiful and has gained a special spot in my heart.

Jesus Christ is always on the side of the crucified. And I believe he changes sides in the twinkling of an eye. He is not loyal to the person or even less to the group. He is loyal to suffering.

"It is the spirit of gratitude which draws down upon us the overflow of God's grace, for no sooner have we thanked Him for one blessing than He hastens to send us ten additional favors in return."

A Christian must not be fanatical; he must have love for and be sensitive towards all people. Those who inconsiderately toss out comments, even if they are true, can cause harm.
I once met a theologian who was extremely pious, but who had the habit of speaking to the secular people around him in a very blunt manner; his method penetrated so deeply that it shook them very severely. He told me once: “During a gathering, I said such and such a thing to a lady.” But the way that he said it, crushed her. “Look”, I said to him, “you may be tossing golden crowns studded with diamonds to other people, but the way that you throw them can smash heads, not only the sensitive ones, but the sound ones also.”
Let’s not stone our fellow-man in a so-called “Christian manner.” The person who – in the presence of others – checks someone for having sinned (or speaks in an impassioned manner about a certain person), is not moved by the Spirit of God; he is moved by another spirit.
The way of the Church is love; it differs from the way of the legalists. The Church sees everything with tolerance and seeks to help each person, whatever he may have done, however sinful he may be.
A truly humble person never behaves like a teacher; he will listen, and, whenever his opinion is requested, he responds humbly. In other words, he replies like a student. He who believes that he is capable of correcting others is filled with egotism.
Saint Paisios the Athonite
