ON FUCKING SPOTIFY#AND I STILL FEEL LIKE A FAKER OMG BRO#im like 400 steps ahead of other “beginners” by having years of band and orchestra experience and have a good singing voice and im still li#nah/....im just someone who picks up an instrument sometimes...it doesnt mean anything....#lucky strike

Hi.
Are you a terf? kindly fuck off.
Welcome my blog, I reblog a lot, and sometimes i make my own posts.
You may support me on my ko-fi page, which i will link tomorrow I'm too damn lazy.
Name's Lucy, pronouns are it/pup/she, I'm 19. I'm transgender, a lesbian and a switch.
I'm a tranny faggot that likes kink, if you're not cool with that, fuck off.
I will not block minors as i just don't have the time to go through my followers to clean it out, nor the energy, but I'd rather you don't follow me as i reblog a lot of shit that a minor should not see.
I reblog a lot of nsfw stuff, I don't tag any of it, sorry.
You can try talking to me or sending me asks, in fact it's encouraged, but do not expect me to be any good at talking to you, I'm not good at being a person. If you ever try talking to me, trust me, you won't be any weirder than me.
I have many mental health issues, as you can probably tell whenever i post in a concerning way. Keep in mind that I'm not a danger to myself yet in any way that matters, so there is no need to worry for me.
If you've deemed me annoying enough to block and you've seen this post, please let me know what i did or I might go insane when i realize you've been gone from my activity feed. this is related to my many mental health issues. I'm sorry.
I'll list a bunch of shit i like below in case you wanna talk to me about them.
yay list time, i like a shit ton of stuff, paradox map games (all of them, but only the newest releases of each series), I'm insane about star trek, i love the owl house, i love music, ranging from Wipers to random music i find on spotify and sounds good to me, but I'm not a music nerd or anything. I love pmmm, my little pony, house md, many other things i don't remember names of.
I adore the fallout series, hardspace shipbreaker, isaac, noita, EU4 is my most beloved paradox map game right behind stellaris, minecraft is good but i can not play vanilla or without quest books really, I've gotten into warframe very recently, i like helldivers the second one, half life and portal series are really cool and i might start biting if you're mean to them.
As for kinks and such:
- Piss, specifically pee desperation I'm into a lot.
- hypno, usually as the one doing the hypnoing and rarely.
- fauxcest.
- edging, overstimulation, orgasm or stimulation denial, i like needy puppies ok?
- chastity (curse my wife for getting me into this).
- bondage.
- i like plushies and plushie humping a lot, it's cute.
- impact play to an extent.
- cnc and such.
- kinda into mommy stuff but I'd rather be a big sister.
- petplay.

Do you have any recommendations on Dr. Who books/audio format things? I haven't watched the show in a bit because Moffat wasn't my thing and I can't seem to find the old stuff. (If you have any advice on where to find that too I would be very grateful) Following your blog has been a nice reminder of why I liked the show so much. Hope you have a good day!
Aw thank you! Depending on your location, you can find classic who episodes either on BBC iPlayer or Tubi (with ads).
As for books/audios, I'll try to keep this brief as I could write an essay on this.
For books, my favorite author is Kate Orman. Orman writes wonderfully, and my personal favorite is The Year of the Intelligent Tigers. I also really liked Goth Opera, Camera Obscure, History 101, Autumn Mist, Lungbarrow, Divided Loyalties, Somewhere Never etc etc etc etc (so many more but I'm forcing myself to stop here). You can often find free versions of basically every novel (at least all I've looked for) on the internet either as pdfs or epubs or whatever. The Internet Archive is particularly useful. Some examples:
And now for the audios! I personally have sold my soul to Big Finish. I have literally hundreds of recommendations. They do have some audios for free, such as those that came from the Paul Spragg Memorial Competition. You can also find a lot of them (up until Zagreus I think) for free on Spotify. There is also almost always a killer sale going on on the website on top of that too.
As for my recommendations, it's pretty dependent on what Doctor or companion you want to listen to. They even have series centered on UNIT, Romana's Gallifrey, Benny Summerfield, and a ton of other things (including a Masterful special that just had a bunch of Masters fucking around and finding out). I'll put in some of my favorites, one for each Doctor, from what I own (which is far from everything, but I do my best).
One: The Sontarans. It was the first time the Doctor had ever encountered the Sontarans, so he was unfamiliar with them. It takes place during Dalek Master Plan, so Steven and Sara are there.
Two: Lords of the Red Planet! It's a good Ice Warrior origin story and has Jamie and Zoe in it. :)
Three: Terror of the Master. I had pre-ordered it as soon as I heard about it. Three....Delgado Master....what more do you want from an audio? It's narrated by Jon Culshaw.
Four: The Wrath of the Iceni. It was a brilliant historical with Four and Leela and Boudica. Leela gets quite a lesson in this one, first being mad at Four for not helping Boudica and then at Boudica for being cruel.
Okay now we are getting into my favorite Doctors (5-8), so these decisions are going to get difficult.
Five: The Kingmaker! Shakespeare spikes Five's drink to get him absolutely wasted to sneak on the TARDIS, the TARDIS gets hiccups as a result, leading to Peri and Erimem being separated from the Doctor. Shenanigans ensue.
Six: Doctor Who and the Pirates. Six and Evelyn have a really meaningful discussion with one of her depressed students. The third part is a musical!
Seven: The Shadow of the Scourge. Benny Ace and Seven against 8th dimensional eldritch abominations. Seven gets turned into one of these insectoids, and body horror ensues.
Eight: Oh dear I can't choose. At the moment, probably the Great War from Dark Eyes 1. Eight meets Molly and is still grieving here. He is very much doomed by the narrative.
War: The Neverwhen. Lots of the War Doctor is good if you like Time War horror, but this one has a lot of time-as-a-weapon and is well written.
Nine: Battle Scars. A nice short story about that one family Nine saved from the Titanic mentioned in the episode Rose. Has a really fantastic girl in it and a Nine dripping in PTSD.
Ten: The Time Reaver. Ten and Donna! There's this gun that basically slows down time for a single person, so that a few minutes for everyone else is centuries for them. Ten is a self sacrificing dope.
Eleven: The Geronimo boxset is the best in my opinion, but I haven't been able to listen to many of these yet.
Twelve: Another one I haven't managed to buy a lot of yet, but Dead Media is amazing. It's written to sound like a podcast with adverts and everything and is set during his time at St. Luke's. And I cried at the end.
Anyway, I'll shut up now. This was so much fun! Thank you!

So I don’t market aside from posting and I only released Le Théâtre du Grand-Guignol on streaming services, not At The Feet of The Draracle, so these numbers are super impressive and I’m absolutely stoked about it.
I always feel like I should be all “I know these are small numbers” but like honestly? I’m genuinely happy and grateful for every listen or share or sale or any bit of support I get for my music.
I ran the numbers on Bandcamp (they don’t do it for you) and my plays were higher than Spotify and in the last year I got a ton of financial support from you guys too.
Your support has literally put food in my mouth when it’s been tough and I can’t overstate how grateful I am for it.
I am, of course, already working on new music, I have an acoustic album already in the bank, that will release in the first quarter of 2024, and my next heavy record is going to be even better than GG, and my next dungeon record is going to be even grimier than Draracle.
Thank you all for supporting my music and me. And if you’re sharing my stuff on Instagram and Facebook? I don’t fuck with Meta so you’re doing God’s work over there.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

Reminder: Vote based on the song, not the artist or specific recording! The tracks referenced are the original artist, aside from a few rare cases where a cover is the most widely known.
Lyrics, videos, info, and notable covers under the cut. (Spotify playlist available in pinned post)
Your Song
Written By: Elton John & Bernie Taupin
Artist: Elton John
Released: 1970
Cover included: Ewan McGregor for Moulin Rouge!, 2001
The song was composed and performed by Elton John but the lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. It originally appeared in his self titled and second album. Elton John hadn’t come out of the closet yet, but Bernie Taupin knew, which is part of the reason why the lyrics avoid using gendered pronouns. In a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone, Elton John said: “What can I say, it’s a perfect song. It gets better every time I sing it. I remember writing it at my parents' apartment in North London, and Bernie giving me the lyrics, sitting down at the piano and looking at it and going, ‘Oh, my God, this is such a great lyric, I can’t fuck this one up.’ It came out in about 20 minutes, and when I was done, I called him in and we both knew. I was 22, and he was 19, and it gave us so much confidence. ‘Empty Sky’ was lovely, but it was very naive. We went on to do more esoteric stuff like ‘Take Me to the Pilot,’ of course, but musically, this was a big step forward. And the older I get, the more I sing these lyrics, and the more they resonate with me.”
[Verse 1] It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide I don't have much money, but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live [Verse 2] If I was a sculptor, heh, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do My gift is my song and this one's for you [Chorus] And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind That I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world [Verse 3] I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song It's for people like you that keep it turned on [Verse 4] So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do You see, I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen [Chorus] And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind That I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world [Outro] I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind That I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world

Demolition Lovers
Written By: Matt Pelissier, Mikey Way, Ray Toro & Gerard Way
Artist: My Chemical Romance
Released: 2002
The Demolition Lovers are the couple seen on the cover for MCR’s next album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. This song, along with much of the album, is a prequel to the story of Three Cheers… in which a man makes a deal with the devil to get his dead lover back by killing 1,000 evil men and giving the devil their souls in exchange for her. This song is most likely where the lover dies. The two “Demolition Lovers” are featured on the cover of the album.
[Verse 1] Hand in mine, into your icy blues And then I'd say to you, "We could take to the highway With this trunk of ammunition, too" I'd end my days with you, in a hail of bullets [Chorus] I'm trying, I'm trying To let you know just how much you mean to me And after all the things We put each other through and [Verse 2] I would drive on to the end with you A liquor store or two keeps the gas tank full And I feel like there's nothing left to do But prove myself to you, and we'll keep it running [Chorus] But this time, I mean it I'll let you know just how much you mean to me As snow falls on desert sky Until the end of everything I'm trying, I'm trying To let you know how much you mean As days fade and nights grow And we grow cold [Post-Chorus] Until the end, until this pool of blood Until this, I mean this, I mean this, until the end of [Chorus] I'm trying, I'm trying To let you know how much you mean As days fade and nights grow And we grow cold But this time, we'll show them We'll show them all how much we mean As snow falls on desert sky Until the end of every… [Interlude] All we are, all we are is bullets, I mean this All we are, all we are is bullets, I mean this All we are, all we are is bullets, I mean this All we are, all we are is bullets, I mean this [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] As lead rains will pass on through Our phantoms forever, forever Like scarecrows that fuel this flame We're burning forever and ever Know how much I want to show you You're the only one Like a bed of roses There's a dozen reasons in this gun [Outro] And as we're falling down, and in this pool of blood And as we're touching hands, and as we're falling down And in this pool of blood, and as we're falling down I'll see your eyes, and in this pool of blood I'll meet your eyes, I mean this forever!

1970s Punk Rock Playlist
So, like, isn't it kind of ridiculous that I've had this 70s punk rock playlist for a few years now, but I've never once put any UK stuff on it before? Isn't that a very crucial place where punk rock really blew up between its late 60s Detroit/Ann Arbor founding and The Ramones? Like, there's such a rich history from over across the pond that I haven't tapped into at all yet!
But, fortunately, that changes now. At long last, the Brits have arrived to fuck shit up, folks. And no, I didn't bring in any super obvious choices like The Sex Pistols or Buzzcocks or The Clash, because that's not really how I operate 😁. Instead, you're getting awesome tracks from a quartet of bands that you've probably never heard of before, unless you're either a) British or b) happened to read my 1970s power pop playlist post from last week, because there's a tiny bit of crossover there with the pop-punky and super catchy anthem that is Fast Cars' "The Kids Just Wanna Dance," which is by far this update's most popular track, as it's currently sitting at over 100K plays on Spotify.
But the rest of these adds, in spite of how good they are, have not proven nearly as popular as we keep getting nearer to their five-decade anniversary. Songs like the unfortunately oh-so-relevant-again-and-also-quite-salient anti-fascist bop, "They're Back Again" by a band called The Cigarettes, is only nearing 29K plays at this moment. And in true Brit punk fashion, this tune that was calling out a noticeable late 70s far-right rise, and was also released in the same year that Margaret Thatcher became UK prime minister too, really sounds like it pairs well with cracking some skinhead skulls! 🤘
I'm not a violent person, I'll make exception for you
And then "East Coast Kids" by The What?, which only has a little over 2.8K plays, has a bassline on it that's so prominent that, although it's most likely being played by a fretless, it could easily be mistaken for being that of a double. Really cool!
The Cigarettes - "They're Back Again, Here They Come" Fast Cars - "The Kids Just Wanna Dance" Squire - "Livin' in the City" The What? - "East Coast Kids"
And there's, of course, a YouTube version of this playlist too. Normally, I'd have at least one song to add to that one that can't be found on Spotify, but remarkably, this update doesn't actually have any.
And this playlist is also on YouTube Music.
So with this update, our Spotify version of this playlist now stands at 22 songs that run for 54 minutes, but over on YouTube, we now have 27 songs that run for 77 minutes. So if you want a little extra 70s punk rock, like a track from the legendary Stooges that somehow wasn't actually on YouTube until I showed up and somehow only has 28 plays(?) as of this writing, give that one a look.
And if you want something more specific and concise, I've got a punk playlist that's solely focused on 1979 too.
1979 Punk Rock: YouTube / YouTube Music
And here's the list of compilations that were used to build this playlist:
Motor City's Burnin' (1998, Total Energy) Destination Bomp! (1995, Bomp! Records) What? Stuff (1990, Iloki Records) Dangerhouse, Volume 2: Give Me a Little Pain! (1992, Frontier Records) Dangerhouse, Volume One (1991, Frontier Records) The Roots of Powerpop! (1996, Bomp! Records) 100% British Mod (1998, Captain Mod)
Back to some power pop next week 😎.
Enjoy!
More to come, eventually. Stay tuned!
Like what you hear? Follow me on Spotify and YouTube for more cool playlists and uploads!

Fuck it ok i have fandom opinion rants now.
911: buck x tommy suck, buddie need to wait until at least season 9 tho or it will feel rushed. Also this whole season kinda was not great sorry to say. I hope that season 8 managed to take the cool ideas introduced in this season and address them better. Also we need more henren, and main character ravi pls.
Spies are forever: amazing, makes me too queer and depressed to function. My only gripe is that I want it to actually be more depressing and make agent Mega more traumatized. In spy again, its very heavily implied/outright said that after owens death, Curt became kinda a alcoholic. (The "and another" lyrics) This makes me not love the vibes of one more shot. This man is basically a alcoholic dont give him more alcohol? This is the only one of these opinions i will accept criticism, please help me understand what im missing here, did i read to much into the song spy again?
Star trek: no mad rants actually i love tos and im growing to like tng as i watch more. I do wish the fandom would make more fic that are not heavily romantic and are written like actual episodes? Like i want more stories where the sci-fi is more important than the romance. Also if the fic is more about relationships than the scifi stuff, more fics that are less sex based and more romance based?
Criminal minds: i hate the new evolution seasons so bad, i always say that the last season and all of evolution dont exist. I have tried watching evolution, and i hate how it was not new unsub every episode. Also yall get the same message as star trek, more fics with well written unsubs where the bau unsub stuff is the main focus, not the characters getting in each others pants.
Hatchetfield trio: release the npmd soundtrack on Spotify soon please? I actually love how every fic in this fandom has a "think about the implications" reference. I dont actually have more opinions on this, the fandom and source material is all really great.
Bones: i will never forgive them for killing vincent. Also i have opinions about the last two seasons and the ending and all that. I hate bitter sweet endings, where you feel like the characters will never be in situations like they were in the series. I prefer when it feel like the series could go on, instead of ending with everyone moving up and away. (Looking at you b99)
Ok well i cant think of more to say, so bye babes, boys and boomerangs
P.S please feel free to recommend fics based on what i say in these rants.
P.S 2 dont come at me for spelling, i dont care enough to make my i a capital I and all that.

ok so this is probably the only non-reblog tumblr post i’ll ever make in the entirety of my natural life but if the world goes on w/o knowing anything about mirai komachi I will BURST.
Mirai Komachi is this vocaloid (see below) made for the VOCALOID4 engine by Bandai Namco Studios, a Japanese video game development company that is a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Entertainment which ITSELF is a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings ANYWAY
from what i can gather she was kind of an accident? the vocaloid wiki describes her as an “experimental female vocal not originally meant for commercial release” which to me implies “accident”. either way they made this vocaloid n then just. released her. No announcement, no advertising, nothing. “come get y’all orange juice”, Bandai Namco said. And, unsurprisingly, very few people did. mirai komachi is a relatively obscure vocaloid, even (from what i can tell PLZ correct me if i’m wrong) in the jp community and ESPECIALLY in the english community. Minnemi’s “Every VOCALOID Described In One Word” video give mirai komachi the word “who?”. She’s not even mentioned on her parent company’s wikipedia page. only the most completionist of the completionist vocaloid nerds (me) even rly know of her existence, much less her lore.
yeah thats right her lore. this girlie has lore!!! her origin is that this doctor guy named Hakase (yeah they have names n everything) was doing some kind of experiment that got fucked up so explosion BOOM mirai komachi appears (BTW "mirai komachi” is her name. Like, the whole thing. komachi is written in kanji while mirai is written in katakana which implies mirai is the given name and it’s just written in the western order but her website refers to her explicitly as Mirai Komachi and in an email Bandai Namco stated that mirai is neither her given or family name. Technically in most official english source material they refer to her as MiraiKomachi. weird). after she appeared in the explosion she became a researcher at Bandai Namco studios women in stem girlboss. anyway Hakase n these little robots he made r considered her sidekicks n they have a whole lil comic series of their misadventures that I CANNOT find any english translations of and it kills me.
but either way my point is considering her lack of popularity its kind of wild how much content there is of her???? she has a youtube page w/ a bunch of original songs, almost all of which have official english subtitles and are on spotify (which is pretty rare for lesser known vocaloids n if they r there they r certainly hard 2 find). the official MiraiKomachi website is super well made and has a bunch of illustrations, an official mirai komachi 3d model, and the comics i mentioned earlier. she’s been on a bunch of japanese public transport stuff (which isnt that uncommon 4 jp vocaloids) n has this absurd but cute video collaboration with Jammu like. shes there!! shes got stuff!!!
(this whole post is rly just a manifestation of the fact that vocaloid is a very international multilingual community n the nature of very international multilingual communities is every once in a while u will stumble across an aspect of this community that u r theoretically “part of” that is completely in a language that u dont speak or in a physical location that u cannot access n ur just like “huh. there are entire aspects of this thing i care about that i will never fully understand and subcommunities that i will rarely ever interact with even if i spend actual years obsessing over that thing.” this has been existential fandom hour brought to you by staring too long at the vocaloid wikis)
uhhh anyway tl;dr mirai komachi is cute n i wish i could read japanese
#vocaloid#mirai komachi#mirai komachi vocaloid#im no longer down the rabbit hole#the rabbit hole is down me#its in my intestines kicking and screaming#(about vocaloid)#JP AND EN SPEAKING VOCALOID FANS PLZ TRANSLATE MIRAI KOMACHI COMICS#I BEG OF YOU#the music videos on the yt channel r so cute they deserve recognition!!!#i'm doing the work of the capitalists by promoting a character explicitly made to advertise a video game company but...#listen shes CUTE its not my fault#i stayed up kinda late n then woke up n found this in my drafts did i even write this???? no memory#twillertalks

Ok I said I would make a pin full of music so here it is
First off, I mentioned KNOWER. It's a long project that started a really long time ago, but their best stuff is probably coming out like right now. As in, they are just about to release a new album, KNOWER FOREVER. The singles on it are incredible, like I'm The President just comes right out the gate with the fattest walkdown I've ever heard from a horn section. The B section makes it feel like I'm enjoying a song like I would a multiple-course meal. Then Crash The Car just transfixes you. Yes, yes, you should listen to those, but don't neglect the fire they put out in 2017 because you owe it to yourself to watch the live sesh of Overtime:
youtube
Oh god this post is gonna make viewing my blog super annoying isn't it
Anyway the next thing I gotta mention is Vulfpeck. These guys are famous for scamming Spotify, basically. They released an album full of 30-second tracks of pure silence, just absolutely nothing, titled Sleepify. They got online and said "Yo guys, help us raise money for a free concert by listening to this on loop while you sleep." What they were actually doing was exposing a loophole in the way Spotify calculated royalties, and before they could pull the album (citing "content policy violations," of course), Vulfpeck had already bagged around $20,000, so they put on the completely admission-free Sleepify Tour, which was incredibly fucking based of them.
Vulf went on to become several spin-off projects, all entirely independently released and full of some of the stankiest funk fusion that I cannot stop listening to.
My favorite of these projects, The Fearless Flyers, is headed by Cory Wong, with a guitar idol of mine for 5+ years Mark Lettieri and of course the government subsidized active bass of Joe Dart, but the keystone of the group is no doubt Nate Smith on drums. Dude makes a three-piece set onstage sound like a full kit.
Like just look at what they can do with the added power of sax:
youtube
And yeah, I could just talk about those guys, but let's get weirder.
I'm talking modal. The kind of stuff that makes my choir-trained mother cringe inward at the dissonance. Let's talk about the crunchiest, most feral fucking harmonies and keyboard solos that make you question what you thought you knew about chord progressions and key centers.
Obviously anyone super into this stuff will have already heard of Jacob Collier, so I won't show him. But THIS:
I listened to this the first time and it was just.. too much. I put it in its own specific playlist titled "very complex shit" immediately. When I went back to it, enough time had passed and I had learned enough that after way too many listens I can actually follow along with this insanity. This track blew my fucking mind, dude. I have never heard a chorus use so many of the 12 chromatic notes and still sound heavenly. The groove changes add so much texture. The flute solo goes off way too hard. The slower final section is just disgusting syncopation when the drums come back in. Everything about it is incredible, and this album came out in 2007. I am staring back at years of my life I spent not listening to this and ruminating my lack of music theory knowledge. And when I wanted to see if some kind transcribing jazz grad student like June Lee had uploaded anything of System, I found a 2020 reboot with 24 musicians playing System for over twice its original runtime, and guess who did the showstopping final solo??
JACOB FUCKING COLLIER.
Look him up if you don't know. The other musicians I obsess over inspire me. This guy makes me want to quit.

hii ^_^ i would appreciate if anyone could spare some change cuz i have a lot of expenses right now and i am barely stringing along. more context/sob story under the cut if you want but tl;dr car repairs, ubers to/from work, and food in the meantime
ways to support me:
redbubble ☆ i have quite a few things on there, including logos of my stuff and retro things like bowling alley carpet, i’m working on a pride collection of bowling alley carpets too!! and i have a lot more in the works :]
patreon ☆ four different tiers with varying perks, and near-daily updates on art projects, sneak peeks at redbubble designs, previews on music and even full songs weeks before they release- also recognition on youtube, my discord, etc etc!
donations ☆ these are quick links to all the major money sharing apps (cashapp venmo paypal), if you want to do zelle that requires my email ([email protected])
bandcamp ☆ for as little as a dollar you can pick any of my currently released songs to get the highest quality download, which is equivalent to listening to it 34 times on spotify… so if you really like my music then own it for yourself here! you can also get 50% off literally anything with the code hungrypumpkin (since it’s helping me pay for food lol)
and if you can’t donate, pleaaaase reblog hopefully to reach someone who can- reblogs help wayyy more than likes in this case ^^
thank you all!!! you’re amazing and i hope you have a stellar day
poll for engagement:
okayyy umm hii… i’m a queer trans non-binary neurodivergent indie artist, teacher, and musician (to get all the demographic solidarity out there, i never know how to write these) and as of rn i’m having to pay my dad $1900 to fix my car’s transmission while ALSO paying anywhere from $100-150 a week on ubers to get to and from work since i have a residential tutoring job. while ALSO having to pay rent, bills, etc like normal. it fuckign sucks and i’ve literally been eating almost nothing except free handouts from college … it’s a nightmare and it weighs on me every day 😔
not only are most of the ubers a wild roulette on whether the car’s going to be super uncomfortable and make me nauseous, the driver being overpolitical and talking about super uncomfortable shit out of the blue and making me feel really unsafe, they’re often super fucking late and i can’t risk being late to work and it’s just all around not sustainable yayy!! and i also just learned i have depression from all this! which next to the rest of my melting pot of neurodivergence makes it Really goddamn hard to exist in a positive way!
when i’m not at work or school i am making as much content as i possibly can and pushing it out onto redbubble, patreon, etc. you will get more than your moneys worth in return from artistic content and stuff, that’s all i have to offer right now, because frankly commissions are extremely draining and take me SUPER LONG to finish- i don’t want you to have to fight through my executive dysfunction to get a finished piece that’s not fair to you and i want to make this as worth it as possible on the user end
if you want a specific goal, then right now, $350 for ubers for a month would help a lot but naturally give as much as you can because i need all i can get rn ^^; i’m lowballing it so it feels more achievable really but just ,, please anything helps lol
$0 / $350
thank you i love you all my gratitude is immeasurable and i just.. thank you for supporting me it helps more than you know

I just saw the Spotify might change their royalties model and that it would hit indie artists hardest. Are you posting your music elsewhere? I follow you on Spotify but now I'm looking into other places for music and want to continue supporting your awesome music!!
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I love you and thanks for asking.
Except for a few covers that are limited by licensing restrictions, my stuff is on all major and some minor platforms (I do sometimes lag in putting things on Bandcamp because lazy). I'm not monetized on Soundcloud because that system is somewhat different and IIRC not as welcoming of truly small artists, so any of my tracks that you find there are either on my "just for fun" accounts or are someone's illegal reupload.
Reminder to the new folks: I'm Firjii everywhere but also started another artist pseudonym as Kathy Warnecke (which should also be on all the same platforms by now).
Tidal and Apple usually have the best royalty payout rates and Spotify is among the worst (but no platform has a guaranteed fixed rate). Youtube is all over the place but usually on the low end. Downloads always pay better than streams, but I know some people can't do this or prefer to continually support with streams over time instead of paying once.
I'm also gonna take a minute to FUCKING RANT explain things to the uninitiated since virtually all my listeners on tungles are freemium Spotify users. From what I understand, this change has been finalized and it's not speculation at this point.
The deal is they'll withhold royalties from a song in a given calendar year unless it's streamed at least 1,000 times ANNUALLY (not lifetime).
Although the change will only consider per-track stats (not social media-like numbers such as followers/listeners or a measurement of how established the artist's presence is), in practice, this will specifically demonetize small/niche artists and have little or no impact on medium and big names. It will also affect the payouts small artists get from distributors because many of those have their own minimum payout thresholds.
I need people to understand just how shitty this is.
Say you're a prolific creator or recorded some live shows from a tour and you released 150 tracks in a year. If each track only got streamed on Spotify 999 times that year, they're pretty much saying you'd get paid for.......yup, exactly zero Spotify streams, not the 149,850 you're otherwise owed. I have no idea if this will impact PRO (performance rights organization) payouts, but I refuse to believe it would be legal to also withhold that share of royalties.
In the Spotify world, 1k streams is a tiny achievement (and still translates to a very small payout, so the concern is: what's to stop them from raising that minimum even more in the future?). But especially when the hurdle is per song per year, this can be a tough goal for indie or specialty genre artists to reach or maintain, including me.
I have a long history of disliking Spotify in particular for many reasons, but I upload there because it's the only way some people will listen. I strongly encourage anyone who is able to use other platforms to explore their options.
I know a lot of folks are too broke to pay for music and Spotify is a notable example of a freemium option, but this change is so, so, SO bad for SO many artists.
#hey maybe I need to start a tag for my music industry rants lol#how about#music industry tomfuckery#yes good let's go with that#nerkierants

Here is a post that is long overdue in the sense of I have multiple times thought, "I should post Upsahl cause she's really pretty and also I like her music". I tend to think this though on my walk into the office when I am listening to Upsahl or for some reason in the mid afternoon when she just loves to pop up on random. Either way, far away from a computer and the way my brain works means it has just never happened. I really like her music, too. In one of those Spotify wrap things before I ditched Spotify completely, People I don't Like was on my top 10 plays. It surprised me because I knew I liked the song but had no idea I had listened to it so much. Either way, she is a very clever lyricist and I like how experimental her genre mixing is. It's nice when there is a young artist who has a diverse sound and yet I can tell who she is right away. This happened a little over a week ago when I was driving and listening to the new released for you playlist and someone was singing about her own boobs and my brain went, "Upsahl". It turned out she had a new mixtape, which was good. But i was driving so I didn't post her. Then yesterday for some reason someone send me a message on discord. They shared a music server with me and they asked if I liked Upsahl and I said, yes, I did. I was excited. Then they asked me if I wanted to talk about her being a "secret dickgirl". Boy, I did not. And I blocked them cause guys, don't approach people for weird sex stuff in non weird sex stuff locations. Like, if that's your thing knock yourself out, I bet there are subreddits and stuff for that. Also, Dickgirl is probably offensive but what the fuck do I know, I ust maybe think it's not a great term? Anyway, it was a really strange way to get here. Just an FYI, I know this is a much more sex focused place than say a music discord about music, but you know, stillnot interested in talking to you about your fantasies about Upsahl. Sorry. If you have thoughts on her music though feel free to hit me up. Today I want to fuck Upsahl.

it’s that time of year again… 🎄🎅🎉🎊 no. the highlights of your 2023 media consumption of course! just like last year, i want to know your top 5 films, books, tv shows, songs/albums, pop culture moments if that’s your thing, and as a bonus: any favourite personal moment/achievement in the last year? new to you, new in release, either works! can’t wait to see your response and wishing you a happy new year! 😁🩷
omg hiii imo <333333333 <33333333 and happy birthday!
hmmmm let's see
i have no sense of time i don't remember what was this year or last let's just combine a bunch of stuff i really need to actually start using letterboxd and goodreads and stop forgetting they exist (new years resolution)
the batman still counts...... (it actually is still the movie i watched the most this year and i have not enjoyed it an ounce less 😌)
the riddler: year one comic ended this year!! very good very Thought Provoking for a riddler head....
read the girls by emma cline this year because boy did i miss that bandwagon that book came out almost 8 years ago. idk i think back then i read the opening preview online and thought it sucked (which the beginning DOES suck omg i was RIGHT) so i never read it, but i actually liked it a lot once you get past that part! it's stuck with me hard for some reason, and i think has influenced some of what i created this year
ruby sparks. paul dano i would do anything for you
ok. the ballad of jack and rose (2005). hear me out. everyone fucking hates this movie. but i think everyone should have a "no one gets this movie but me and that's ok" movie and i think i found mine this year with this one (don't watch it it's probably not worth it)
does the penguin teaser count.....because i remember screaming at the top of my lungs in my car to that one. i am excited for that. a bit
became obsessed w this song spotify wrapped was a lie this was my song of the year
did some writing i'm proud of! i've posted a lot of it, but some parts aren't ready to be posted 😌 but i'm really excited for when it's time. i don't think it was an extremely transformative year of my writing style and ability (that was last year), but i think i just held firm and continued to write stuff i like!
i restarted my blog and my villareals!!!!!!! i've wanted to do this version of the story for so long and i'm really pleased with it and i think it was a really good idea that didn't completely blow up in my face! phew
is it too early to count two-headed lamb as an achievement of the year. i don't think so i think it slaps 👁
#goodreads is for the want to read button and the want to read button only#so when i walk into a bookstore i don't get overwhelmed lol#cheesehair#ask
