The fascinating thing about how violent The 1st Doctor is, is that he really isn't that much more violent than other Doctors, what's different is his style of violence.

He won't put you into a trap of eternal torture or hack your tech so it explodes on your face. His approach is a lot more vanilla. He will use objects like rocks or vases to bash your head with, a shovel to knock you out, he will use his staff as a weapon, or just straight up use his bare fists to beat you up.

He is basically The Doctor before he gained a sense of shame about using violence. He doesn't try to find alternative ways to defeat his enemies, if he could he would just hit you over the head with a baseball bat and call it a day.

In this house we fucking love The Gunfighters. And the dentist is none other than Doc Holliday, like come ON what is not to love about that.

So apparently last week was Hartnell History Week and I totally missed it, so I’m showing up a bit late with The Gunfighters fanart. I know this story isn’t particularly well liked, but I quite unashamedly love it! It has a plotline involving the Doctor needing to find a dentist, Steven and Dodo acting like total dorks in The Worst Cowboy Outfits Of All Time™ and a musical narrative for no discernible reason. Amazing!

I feel this way about all of the Doctors but especially the classics

Does anyone else get a deep, all-consuming, all-encompasing sort of nostalgia and grief for old eras of Doctor Who? Like, I mourn for the characters and the ends of their stories in ways I cannot describe. I grieve for the stories we could've seen, for the adventures they deserved to have. I miss every single era of this show in ways I cannot find the words for. I crave more content for all of them, endlessly. I have an overwhelming need to just be able to watch my favorite characters interact forever. I want to watch all those relationships, platonic, romantic, and familial, unfold across the stars forever. I miss them all, every single day. In the wise words of the Doctor, I hate endings.
