I'd like to add onto this;

The use of "trigger warnings" means that... hello, the tags themselves are warning you about the content in the story. Don't like the tags, then... don't click on the story.

I'm triggered on some very specific topics. Seeing that specific thing mentioned in tags can raise my anxiety, yeah-- and I know that story ain't for me, move along. So... I move along and keep scrolling.

It's the responsibility of yourself to manage *your* emotions. What's traumatic to you, maybe isn't traumatic to someone else, and visa versa.

And.... For those precious blessed beans out there who have not ever been exposed to some of the more horrific things this life can provide, it can be incredibly hard for them to relate to someone who *has* lived through those things.

Not just wrote or read about it. Lived. Through. It.

Reading these scary stories or stories with certain themes explored, can absolutely be one of the ways people dealing with their own personal struggles can work through their trauma in a safe, fictional environment. Moreover, stories that contain darker content can -- and i'm not saying every story is, I'm saying they can be written this way -- be a wonderful safe way to educate one's self about other topics and how to even be able to discuss and talk about them, and be able to relate to another person or scenario. Might even learn some useful skills.

Me? Sexual harrassment of any kind is a major trigger, particularly non-con. I used to avoid stories that even had the rape/non-con trigger warning added, and refused to read un-rated / un-warning-tagged works because I was that triggerable even just hearing it *mentioned.* So I deeply appreciated and still appreciate A03's tagging system. It let me currate my experience to suit my specific needs. many stories with that tag, I soon learned, didn't even contain actual graphic content of a rape happening, but rather dealt with the *topic* of it, or past references to it, or off-screen happenings. Some did.

I learned it wasn't such a black and white label, but a little bit broader of a whole spectrum, and many people used the tag with over-caution rather than risk being not-tagged-enough.

Now? I read some stories with That Scary Tag attached that used to scare me witless just to read it, because I discovered that at least some stories... I actually learned things from them, that helped me work through my IRL trauma by witnessing how a fictional character dealt with the same or similar trauma I experienced, themselves. Their healing journey helped my healing journey. Learning from their mistakes and realizations in a fictional setting where I wasn't actually in harm's way, helped me internalize and absorb new lessons or perspectives on the topic that helped me work through my own little messed up head from things I experienced in the past.

I'm so very serious when I say this: learn how to scroll and leave it be.

A03 is a space of many writers with all kinds of flavors. You're not gonna like every flavor.

Fortunately, A03 also invented an awesome tagging system.... that lets us find what flavors we DO like.

If something is truly so triggering to you that you cannot even read a tag that warns you that content is contained within the story and therefore informs you it's probably not the right story for you to read at this point in your life if ever, then utilize the advanced search functions to restrict certain keywords. Perfect? No. Useful? yes.

Your comfort zone is your responsibility to dictate with the tools provided explicitly for the exact purpose of curating your experience. Learn how to utilize them, and you'll find yourself a lot happier.

Try to control everyone and make them exactly like yourself to fit in a little narrow restricted world view of how the world 'should' work and 'it should only work this way,' and you'll be miserable for so long as you strive to do the impossible and impractical.

saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. as a PROFESSIONAL at arguing and making sure i come out right and on top, as usual, i have found myself utilising this to my own benefit more and more as of late.

cancelling out the bad thoughts with good ones is not a new phenomenon, and neither is getting into a sort of conversation with yourself whilst performing said cancellation. but they still stand as some of the most effective methods of mindset shifts, and we'll be making use of that in this method.

the only difference with this tactic is that you have intention and victory. which for people like me, who always need to be right and win every argument ever, can be super fun and super effective!

this means that whenever you find yourself thinking something negatively, whether it be about yourself, another person, or just something the ideal version of you wouldn't be thinking about, you fight back!

you argue, mentally, in a semi civil yet strategic manner in ur head, until you get the outcome you want; proving that thought wrong. that is the goal. eliminating it entirely. it is not what you want, so you allow yourself, the ideal version of you, to get rid of what doesn't align with you. if this can happen physically, then it can happen mentally too, with your mindset instead!

think of it as a sort of cleansing. dont consider this thought hostile or an enemy, consider it something lost and needing help. because that's what it is. don't be cruel to it. be cool and collected and smart and strategic and argue until you get the outcome you want. plus, its great practise if you get into any real arguments too! (just in case ♡)

dbl amnesia au in which when shadowvanilla settle down for the cottage lifestyle, everyone is, understandably, out looking for them. Two powerful beings gone? In an instant? At the same time? Soemthing *mustve* happened. And I think of all the people to find them first, Black Sapphire would stumble upon this, realize quite quickly that neither of them remember anything, and actually, kind of just… keep quiet about the whole thing. Hell, he might even settle nearby to keep an eye on them and see if smilk remembers anything by seeing or interacting with him, but all he sees is a man who is very happy with his new situation with no hints that he might even recall who he might’ve been beforehand.

if anyone else comes along, depending on who it is that arrives, black sapphire may even run interference to make sure others don’t mess with them and try to purposefully jog their memories since whatever they’ve got going on seems to be working for them, even IF he really wants his master back. And I’m sure smilk isn’t entirely unlike his old self… he’s just different now. Calmer. Happier for sure with pure vanilla being the optimistic cookie he is.

Speaking of, shadowvanilla probably make for fairly nice neighbors, and they play off each other like an old couple with their fond bickering. Probably like the grandparents people wish they had: a doting pure vanilla who’s more than happy to share extra produce and bring over food, a silly smilk who’ll happily spin yarn and tell stories about whatever he’s made up and who’ll take your side in arguments, and the both of them will sit out on their porch for tea for break or in the evening and be sociable to anyone who passes.

They deserve their peace and their homey habit even if it only lasts for a little bit, and it’ll be something they surely won’t be able to forget should their original memories ever do return

tbh at first i was like, a lil confused that javier didn't go up to check on lloyd esp since javier is so willing to do anything to protect lloyd. its clear too that he knows abt lloyd's heart freezing,,, though i suppose at the same time, javier trusts lloyd's word so much that when the noble says he'll be fine, javier accepts it as he always has,,, either way his desire to run to protect lloyd and his willingness to trust that lloyd will be okay are both very sweet,,, the mutual trust always makes me so happy,,,,,,, ohhh javier ilysm,,,,,,

i am glad then that alicia went up to go check on him and that javier is reassured by this!!! look at his smile ooohhh hehehee

though smth to note here, i am quite confused as to why javier's mana is suddenly rejected when he tries to absorb it? but alicia's works just fine? and javier has shared mana with lloyd before, my mutual reminded me of the namaran wall arc where siluria and javier both help lloyd with absorbing the hell knight,,, however the fact that javier's mana components have yet to break the law of causality during this arc, aka he wasnt a grandmaster yet. maybe bc of his status as a grandmaster now, where he has the same otherworldy mana lloyd does, that makes it not possible to properly absorb the mana?

alternatively, javier technically is never fated to die/be transformed in the original story, whereas lloyd should be dead and alicia should be tainted with dark magic, so bc the two of them have warped their fates at the moment, it works? and javier's doesnt bc he's technically not? idk if that makes any sense,,, i was told by my mutual that javier has shared mana with lloyd a lot in the novel before, so i'm not sure why they made this change! i hope they expand on it a lil in the future,,,

also, while i'm yapping here, i like that alicia is straightforward abt what she likes abt lloyd, but i wish they got to have a longer conversation than this,,, like this is a good start but it didn't really go anywhere (besides some really wonderful panels of lloyd but i mean like, narrative-wise lol)

as i mentioned in my last liveblog, alicia and suho share a lot more common experiences than they probably realize! and i think if they got a chance to talk about that, talking about their past circumstances, how they became who they are now, and just more in general on what led alicia to fall for lloyd besides what he's capable of,,, this ship would actually sail pretty well, yknow?

unfortunately though with the pacing of the manhwa and i guess just their episode length requirements in general, it makes sense that they couldn't get to that,,, i just wish it happened,,, maybe in snippets in future episodes? but seeing as we're getting pretty close to the end afaik, the chances are slim

i mainly love llovier but i also really love alilloyd, and i think alilloyd as a whole would have a much better leg to stand on if they actually talked about their experiences and had more instances of saving each other, of supporting each other, the way javier does with lloyd. it's too few and too far between for alicia and lloyd, so it feels like it's flatter than what it could be, y'know?

a part of me hopes that they did get to do that in the novel, but from what i recall hearing, alilloyd didn't have a strong leg in the novel either,,, i distantly recall someone telling me that the manhwa is actually doing alilloyd stronger justice than the novel did (i may be misremembering tho so don't quote me on that lol), and seeing as the manhwa's interpretation of alilloyd is so few and far between as is,,,, it makes me worried that the novel never actually got to touch upon how their relationship evolves (if im wrong, please correct me!!!)

i just want them to do well,,, they're super cute,,, please,,, ueueueue

one last thing to mention is just that,,, it seems like theres a mage messing w the weather conditions up in the mountains and i aaaam a lil worried that itll kickstart fate for alicia,,,, esp considering we,,, havent seen worthroad in a while. whatever that guys name was,,, what if its him and he's gonna fuck everything up!?? im really worried for them,,, please be okay,,,
