Not trying to attack anyone here, I get it if you don't like the new Alucard.. and granted I'm pretty biased in this because I absolutely adore the old Castlevania art made by Ayami Kojima.. but

For some of the fans that are disappointed about Alucard getting a redesign, I hope you realize this new one is much closer to his design in Sympony Of The Night

(Btw.. if you're attacking or otherwise harassing anyone, but especially the artists and animators that worked on the show for this reason... SHAME. ON. YOU.)

And in fact, the first four seasons are inaccurate to the source material, his design from Dracula's Curse which follows the story of Trevor looks like this.. (the horror... he looks like a basic vampire, I know..)

Side note, I really hope we see Genya Arikado before the series loses popularity... And maybe his design from Judgement making a cameo.. but I somehow doubt it..

I have a feeling after the second season... assuming the showrunners don't redesign again according to demands by some Netflixvania fans... When the newness wears off, some that initially hated it may just grow to like it.

I also hope this encourages some that haven't to look into or play some Castlevania games too! Maybe if enough attention is given to the games Konami might finally do something with the series again? But maybe that's just wishful thinking...

Let’s talk ADR - automated dialogue replacement - for sec.

I want to bring this up because I’ve seen folks removing the music from the smexy scenes between Polin and getting confused that there’s quiet spots and the sound doesn’t fully sync up.

When we film, the mics don’t always pick everything up. We try to capture as much of the dialogue as possible while on set or location but sometimes stuff just doesn’t come through. Especially in long shots or if there’s lots of ambience noise, mainly on location shoots.

Same with sound effects. These are added afterwards. There’s a great female foley artist on tiktok who gives people a bts view of what she does, if you’re interested. Her handle is reelfoleysound

About 10-30 percent of dialogue has to be ADRed. Basically re-recorded in a sound studio. ADR is secondary recording of dialogue that didn’t get picked up on location and then is overlayed with the music and sound effects tracks. What does that mean for the carriage scene and others like it? Well, it makes that Luke and Nicola might have had to stand at a microphones and make all those sexy ass moans and groans. They have playback of the scene and the actors say the lines or whatever along with it as the sound tech records. It helps to keep everything synced in the final product.

That’s why when you remove the music from the scene to hear the moaning better - you can’t always do so.

"Only 12 Voice Actors"

The "only 12 voice actors" thing in anti-dub circles is frustrating because I've seen animation that only had a limited amount of actors to spread across multiple character. And a lot of them are damn impressive with all that they've had to work with.

Monsuno only had Cam Clarke, Chris Corey Smith, Karen Straussman, Kirk Thorton and Keith Silverstein. Each played one of the five man band protagonist group but also had to play many of the characters either reoccurring or one-offs.

Code Lyoko, a childhood favorite, only had nine voice actors to spread across the show. Aelita and Jeremie, the main couple were both played by Sharon Mann. David Gasman played William and Jim among many other supporting or one-off cast members.

But going back to Anime, it's actually exceedingly rare these days for any dub to have two characters share the exact same voice actors. You only get double casting when it's with maaaaaaybe a random extra but even then, there's additional voice credits for other VAs.

Hell, it's surprising given how dubs aren't known for going for high paying rates. If they wanted to cheap out, they could legit go with a limited amount just for main roles. Yet each character has one voice actor these days.

Buuuuuuut the anti-dub crowd doesn't know about this because it would run against their viewpoint of what they hate passionately. Like... the fact that they think that it's only FUNimation and that they have a "clique" of select voice actors is amazing.

Like... maybe a lot of voice actors get a lot of roles across these dubs because they are good at their jobs. Additionally... it is their job to get a role that can pay period. If they don't voice act, they're not doing their job. Which is to voice act. Ah, doy!

Ein bisschen Transparenz und ein paar Gedanken, in ausführlicher Version, zu meinen persönlichen Dos & Don‘ts. Erfahrungen aus den letzten knapp 17 Jahren im RPG. Manche neuer, manche uralt.

Unterschiedliche Meinungen sind ok und k��nnen auch respektiert werden (solang diese Meinungen sich auf geschmackliche Dinge beziehen. Fremdenhass, Homophobie, etc sind selbstverständlich nicht OK und nicht verhandelbar).

Es ist auch ok jemanden zu blockieren, oder ganz klar einen Schlussstrich zu ziehen. Ghosten ist zwar nicht nett, aber ich weiß, dass manche Personen es sonst nicht verstehen.

Mit jedem befreundet zu sein, oder gar gut klarzukommen, ist unmöglich. Es wird immer Geschichten und fiktionale Universen geben, die jemanden nicht interessieren, und das ist gar nicht schlimm. Es muss sich deshalb niemand persönlich angegriffen fühlen.

Ehrliche Kommunikation ist key!!!

Wenn eure Unterhaltung nur auf Sex oder andere intime Handlungen hinausführen soll, bin ich der falsche Ansprechpartner.

Um das etwas genauer auszuführen: ich glaube nicht, dass es irgendeinen kreativen Zweck für’s RPG erfüllt wenn man nur halbnackte Bilder rebloggt. Die Meinung tut mir auch nicht Leid. Icz möchte es a) nicht sehen und finde es dementsprechend b) ziemlich asozial diesen Content nicht entsprechend zu taggen. Ich bin immer bereit jemandem eine Chance zu geben, werde solche Personen aber mit Xkit softblocken, damit ich diese lowkey Nudes nicht sehen muss. Ich möchte nicht irgendwo unterwegs sein, kurz auf eine Nachricht antworten wollen und beim Scrollen von 10 T*tten oder fast P*mmeln angestarrt werden. Danke, nein danke. Dafür gibt es andere Plattformen.

Wenn man mal länger inaktiv ist, und das vorher weiß, finde ich es persönlich nur fair, wenn man das in einem aktiven Gespräch kurz erwähnt oder jemanden bei einem hiatus-Post verlinkt. Niemand muss sich schlecht fühlen eine Pause einzulegen, aber eine kurze Info ist nett und dauert keine Minute.

Das reale Leben hat immer Vorrang. Egal in welcher Situation.

Ich bin nicht vehement gegen „private“ Gespräche, möchte aber von niemandem private Infos was echte Namen oder Wohnorte oder sonstiges angeht. Private Erfahrungswerte teilen, ist voll ok. Aber keine persönlichen Infos. Auch nicht (vor allem nicht!) von anderen Leuten.
