Am gonna be taking a short break for 2 weeks to alter two upcoming comics and work on merch for my publisher, so I'll leave you all with ghost buns 💜 hope you like them ^^

The writers of Reverse 1999 need both a love letter and a cease and desist cause what is this peak level writing. The fact that in 19 chapters they got you so attached to a town and with the way the timeline is so unreliable in the series they HAVE you think that oh this is after the Storm and Rayashki is like Pei City where they just happened to be immune but they’re so isolated that they don’t know about the storm. Then Vila’s story hits and you realize oh, [Farewell, Rayashki]. They tell you their story is ending with Rayashki welcoming the world to their town again and being on their own. Then the telegram comes and you realize at the same time Vila learns of the Storm itself.

It’s after 1999.

Standing outside of the cave, Wilson considered knocking. But that would be silly. And he wasn’t silly.

The path to the cave through all that snow was treacherous, but it was worth it.

So instead, he decided to very slowly enter the cave. Surely Alexia wouldn’t mind.

Surprises are meant to be, well, surprising, after all!

He makes his way down the path by the train tracks. Wilson was certain this was the right way.. He could be wrong but hopefully not.

Wilson calls out, a bit quietly in hindsight, “Hello?” Hopefully he wasn’t intruding on anything important (Hint hint, nudge nudge :3)

the old train tracks slowly creaked under the weight of Wilsons clicking boots, the corridor about a foot or so wide had soul fire torches all along the sides aswell. and as Wilson reached closer towards towards the ending of the train track ridden corridor it lead him straight into an entirely other cave system,. cavers and ravine like drops, more corridors on every level varied in height, width, everywhere. the bottom of this massive cave system was covered in easily 10ft+ large crystals such as amethyst, quartz, ruby, sapphire, emerald, even crystallized lapis downed the bottom of it. and of course, in various patches of this crystal, pools of pale red blood and pale golden feathers stuck to them. as if somebody was repeatedly shoved off of these and re-healed just for the ‘ fun ‘ of it all. snow slowly piling up on the sides, a natural cause of the tundra. though, that wasn’t what caught wilsons eye initially.

„ I don’t want to fly again, please,- please schlatt I- I don’t want to fly again, I learned how, I- I promise!!- „

alexias voice echoed from a small ledge higher up than Wilson himself, her voice watery and echoing, strained. her face drenched in tears, nose bloody and wings plucked, no longer in her initial dress,, but a loose fitting tank top and shorter shorts, coming just above her mid thigh. as if the dress was too much work to clean, that and most likely a mix of the Ram looming over her wanted her to be as cold as possible so it hurt worse. the black infection she previously showed Wilson now snuck up both of her arms, up from the tips of her pawed feet to up half her legs, and crawling up her neck. half of it looking like frostbite.

AU Idea: On the morning of the Grand Prix in Farewell, My Turnabout, Phoenix and Maya go through some of Phoenix's old family photos, including some from a trip his great-grandfather took to London in 1900. Ryuunosuke is standing next a grinning blonde man, and Phoenix and Maya are baffled to find that the man is named Sherlock Holmes.

But of course, that has to be a joke. Sherlock Holmes isn't a real person. But when Maya is kidnapped, too weak to reach for her sister when Mia is already being channeled... Maya has a crazy idea, her only choice left to her. She summons someone who has the skills to free her.

Sherlock is more than willing to oblige.

the fact that david tennant married the woman who played his daughter on the TV still haunts me occasionally (this is nothing against georgia, we love georgia) but the thing that makes me sit up at night in a cold sweat is the fact that his FATHER IN LAW is the fifth doctor. imagine your fucking father-in-law is Doctor Who. anyways.

Fumito Ueda was inspired by… Galaxy Express 999 (1979).

Ueda has cited the Galaxy Express 999 manga series as one of his influences. Watching the film they made in the middle of its run, I could see a lot of Ico and also some Shadow of the Colossus.

It made me think of Gulliver’s Travels, Alice in Wonderland and Firefly as we follow the boy, Tetsuro, visiting different planets. On a planet called Titan, Tetsuro is given a gun by an old woman that turns out to be ‘the only cosmo gun capable of killing machine men’. Ueda's games feature special weapons that are uniquely effective against the antagonists.

Spoilers for the movie ahead!

It prefigures Ghost in the Shell. There's a character called Tochiro who, moments before his death, gets Tetsuro to activate a machine that vaporizes his body and transfers his consciousness into the supercomputer of his best friend's ship, 'Arcadia'. Maetel, one of two Yorda-like figures, explains to Tetsuro, "I am a copy of your mother in her youth. I am a shadow in the form of a human. When I grow old, I get a copy of a new body. That is how I survive through the ages and travel through time." Both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus feature characters whose bodies are vessels for other consciousnesses (Yorda for The Queen and Wander for Dormin). With the line ‘I had become a witch who controlled time’, it actually sounded more like a warning against plastic surgery.

The castle in the movie gets destroyed.

The other Yorda-like figure is Claire whose mother forced her to trade in her body for one made of glass. Her appearance is reminiscent of petrified Yorda and she has a power that makes her glow which she uses not to open Idol Gates but to save Tetsuro from Queen Promethium.

At the end, Maetel says to Tetsuro, ‘From now on, I will be a woman who lives on only in your memories. I will be nothing more than an illusion of your young boy’s heart, a phantom of your youth.’ The lyrics of 'You Were There' for me carry a similar feeling of nostalgia.
