Thanks to @robotgutzz I got my hands on a drive with turnarounds and T-poses of like. almost every single object in Outer Wilds (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13W_R_Bs6pUzca84KOZc2HsBcBEEUkYov), so now it's my turn to help!

I've cropped the front facing renders of every character, aligned the size measurement scales, and compiled them all into several comprehensive reference sheets:

everyone (with full, partial, and no spoilers),

the travelers (with full and no spoilers),

the villagers,

and the founders! Also i left the .psd file in there

Hope this'll be useful for somebody, because it sure as hell will be very useful for me ::)

So, I made a list of the nomai and what they did and who they worked with and what they worked with and their families and their partners (help)

I'm pretty sure I left some stuff out, but I was running out of space

The first line of nomai are the ones in the scape pods, the ones under them are from brittle hollow and ember twin respectively

To clarify I didn't organize them in age (because I didn't want to take longer)

Also if it says southern observatory +Plume +Privet that means that they also worked there, but it would be too messy to add an arrow

That's pretty much it, I hope you can understand my handwriting, lol

I started this piece shortly after I got home from LBX where one of the pieces of feedback I got was to take more time planning my piece and to not get attached to one composition before you've had the chance to try a few iterations of the idea.

So I really, really took my time working out a few drafts before I settled on the one that eventually became this piece and dear god that took so long. I spent nearly 2 weeks on JUST drafts. I normally only spend 2 days max planning a piece and that usually just involves moving things around and resizing things to try and get a good composition. This time I completely nuked my sketches (not actually, just hid them so I had a blank canvas) and tried completely different compositions. I also (for once) did some color tests before starting my final piece (my color composition can still use some work fkdslkfs). But also, this concept was just very difficult to execute because I really, really wanted to include music in the piece because it was my favorite part of the game, but it's also really, really difficult to work it into the piece in a way that looks good.

All in all, a good exercise and I'm pretty happy with how the piece came out! With time I will eventually make a habit of spending more time on the planning stage of my illustrations rather than just plowing through the first idea I have hehe

Fishing Buddy (2022)

This was my first attempt at characterizing Gabbro! And their relationship with Feldspar. I believe Feldspar, in their last times before disappearing, enjoyed spending time with Gabbro. Not only because by the time, Gabbro was a new astronaut and could replace them for campfire storytime, but also because Gabbro is one of the rare Hearthian that doesn't expect anything from Feldspar. I also wanted to give Gabbro some emotions without being over-the-top about it. I believe Gabbro shows emotions, just not as much as other Hearthians. I think, since they grew up during the beginnings of Outer Wilds Ventures, they kinda always got prepared that something bad might happen one day. Also, first appearance of Chert in my comics as well! I love them, but I never really know what to do with them, aside from making them the reasonable one in the Ventures. And first interactions between the current astronauts! Even though Riebeck was still in training back then...
