i had to make a solution for this for myself, mostly because of depression, but it makes a nice How To for folks who are low on spoons or could use some help in the kitchen.
Fortunately i was a professional cook for over a decade. UNfortunately the first post i made explaining it was suuuuper long. Let's see if i can do better
So you select any protein that you can cook in a frying pan -- chicken breasts, ground beef, pork chops, sausages, steak, chicken thighs, whatever. You also select one or two types of veggie (mushrooms or tubers also work, i just did this with potatoes and carrots for dinner tonight).
[i like cooking for vegetarians, but this is how i cook for myself when i'm low on spoons - perhaps i'll do another post for meatless meals]
You'll also need some kind of oil, and a sauce or two of your choice in a bottle. All cooking gear is a large frying pan with lid (i prefer non-stick) a spatula, a cutting board, and a knife.
You cut the veggies into bite size pieces, cut up enough for two meals. One kind of veggie is fine, or you can do mix two or three
Tumblr media
Put frying pan on medium heat with a little oil. Tubers or mushrooms or go in the pan a few minutes before the protein. 2 portions of the protein goes in the pan, about 5 minutes with lid (don't worry you can still get a good sear on both sides)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Now flip your protein if it's flip-able and add normal veggies, put the lid back on another five-ish minutes.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Take your protein out and put it with one portion of the veggies in a microwave safe container. That's going to be your lunch tomorrow. Put the other portion of protein on a plate to rest (you have to let a cooked protein sit a couple minutes before you serve it or when you cut into it all the juices run out and it goes dry - the liquids thicken as it cools, preventing this drying out if you let it rest, the goal is to serve it very warm but not hot hot)
While it's resting, pour some sauce from your bottle in the pan with the rest of the veggies and turn up the heat. A single sauce/bottle is fine, i like to get fancy and mix a couple. Two examples of personal favorite mixes are 1: bbq sauce and a hot sauce like sriracha 2: roughly equal parts low sodium soy sauce and worcestershire (makes something similar to a teriyaki sauce) A swallow of wine is almost always a great option if you want to add that to your sauce too, just add it to the pan before the other sauces so the alcohol has time to burn off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
...
Here is the important bit. While your veggies are finishing, wash your cutting board and chef knife. Then when you dump your veggies and sauce over your protein on the plate, while it is still too hot to eat, you wash your frying pan and spatula before you eat. Now the only dishes you have left to do are your plate and fork. Maybe a steak knife.
...
The whole thing takes about 35 minutes even with washing the dishes, and that includes your lunch for the next day- just pour a different sauce on and stick it in the microwave for a couple minutes (or five minutes back in the frying pan) and you have a full healthy lunch with a different flavor
You can use this technique every single meal and it yields hundreds of combinations, from pork and potatoes bbq, to salmon and broccoli teriyaki, to chicken and zucchini in a soy glaze.
It will keep you down to less than an hour of kitchen time per day total for both lunch and dinner including all dish clean up, uses the least dishes, the least effort, requires the least technique, and is, depending on what you pick out, very affordable
here are a couple more examples from this month; i didn’t take pictures of the salmon i did recently, but you get the idea
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's not super fancy, but it is easy, affordable, quick, and any flavors you want. Hope this helps some folks
Happy Cooking!

Shh, don’t cry.
Homemade Chicken noodle soup recipe
Ingredients
-white and dark chicken meat(boneless is easier and cooks faster, but bone in is fine. And you don’t HAVE to use both white and dark if you dislike one of them… it just tastes better.)
-chicken bouillon cubes(2-4)
-Tony’s seasoning (to taste)
-season all (to taste)
-celery
-onions
-carrots(canned take less time, but you can cut them fresh if you’d like)
-egg noodles
Step 1
Put the chicken on to boil. Depending on what type of chicken you’re using the time may be different, so make sure to look it up and use a meat thermometer.
Step 2
Put in the bouillon cubes and seasonings
Step 3
While the chicken is boiling, cut up the veggies get a pan to sauté them. Sauté them until they are soft and slightly browned. If you’re using canned carrots, DO NOT ADD THEM HERE! Add them at the end. If you’re using fresh carrots, they can be sautéd with the other veggies…… probably. Idk
Step 4
Take the chicken out of the broth and set aside to cool. DO NOT TOSS OUT THE BROTH YOU BASTARD!!! ARE YOU INSANE!?
Step 5
Once the vegetables are done, you can put the noodles on to cook IN the broth. You may have to add in more water, and add in more seasoning and bouillon cubes if needed.
Step 6
Tear up the chicken into bite sized pieces after it’s cooled and while the noodles cook.
Step 7
Once the noodles are cooked, combine everything and add the canned carrots.
Now you have homemade chicken noodle soup!! Eat up and enjoy!!

Okay but what about modern Amnabel's group food preferences?
cracks knuckles. Alright, let’s get into it.
Annabel Lee - complicated. Annabel likes to have the upper hand in every situation, even in casual afternoon lunch outings. She will adapt to almost anything put in front of her. For example, if she goes to someone’s house and they serve tea and scones, she will claim that they are her favorite. Are they? Who knows. She will play it as if whatever is given is something she enjoys immensely, creating the illusion that the world seems to cater to her- that she got lucky that it was her favorite meal. She does this ALL. THE. TIME. “Oh, they are serving pie. That is one of my favorites.” No it is not. She is just making it seem like it is to create the look that “Wow, how lucky for her. The world seems to love her- they’re serving her favorite food!” You get it? She says it’s her favorite for convenience sake. This is why Prospero brings her so many varied pastries when he can. He’s trying to figure out what she actually likes.
As for what she actually likes: She has a pretty varied palette. She does prefer food that is considered more “common” as it tends to have more flavor, and she absolutely loves American food far more than what she had at home. Is the type of person to eat popcorn one piece at a time, but then resorts to shoving 4-5 pieces in her mouth when she’s invested in whatever she’s doing.
Keeps up appearances by ordering what is expected of her. Teas, light foods with small portions.
- packs snacks throughout her school day like grapes or small cheese cubes. Dainty, barely filling little things.
- She loves spicy foods. Hot curries, salsas, she loooves the burn.
Ada - Also keeps up appearances, but obviously not the same way Annabel does. She will pretend to only like more expensive things, but she honestly thinks such things are too bland. She’s a southern girl used to flavor and savory dishes.
- LOVES cheap frozen dinners. She would rather die than admit this of course. Like think those frozen mac and cheeses you put in the microwave.
- She can and will force herself to eat something she doesn’t like, especially if Annabel/Prospero is eating it.
- Hates squid. Calamari? Yuck.
- She likes to comment on things she eats like she’s doing a shitty food review on Youtube. The only person that listens is Will, but you can’t really tell that he’s even paying attention.
- Loves celery
Prospero - This man has a sweet tooth, but he knows how to keep it tamed. He has a very balanced diet and makes sure to make every lunch or breakfast filling enough to last him through morning classes.
- Salad man. He will put so much shit into a salad. He’ll make days worth of salad and sometimes he and Annabel will just eat the whole thing in between classes.
- His favorite dressing is balsamic vinaigrette.
- Very rarely eats fried foods. Corn dogs are cool and he’s more likely to eat one of those rather than something else fried
- For snacking he always gets the things that are called “thins” or “light”, and he is very strict when it comes to the “no eating three hours before sleeping” rule.
- This man hates cashews
- I HC prospero as a mama’s boy idk i get the vibe. He grew up having homemade pasta and refuses to eat it if the restaurant isn’t like locally Italian.
Montresor - Big on steak. Big on potatoes. Big on veggies when they’re roasted or oven baked or anything where they’re mixed up and peppered and cooked. Dude will eat a raw carrot for fun though
- crunches loudly on chips. he does it on purpose.
- has a surprisingly shitty spice tolerance. It’s not BAD, but his face will get red and he tries to play it off.
- Likes messy finger foods like ribs
- Licorice kind of guy. specifically red.
- Prefers green apples over red ones
- really likes blue cheese, especially for his wings
- cannot STAND marzipan anything
Will - Peaches peaches peaches peaches pea-
- Prefers simpler foods. Basic ham and cheese sandwiches, a bag of chips…normal and boring.
- gets overwhelmed when served anything more complicated than what you’d get at an Applebees. He doesn’t really think he nor his body are suited to eat such things. They’re TOO delicious and he isn’t worth it.
- He loves cheesecake brownies. He’s literally only had them twice in his life but he would go insane if he ever saw any for sale anywhere
- The drinks he gets at coffee shops are considered “girly” to Montresor, so he only buys them when he’s alone. Like fruity refreshers and stuff.
- He would like a lot more food if he actively attempted to try new things, he just has no desire to treat himself.
- eats wheat thins for fun
- Only eats 1 singular fruit for breakfast or just skips it all together.
- would probably start crying if he ate a soup. it’s warm and filling and it makes him feel like a waste of space. the warmth settling in his stomach reminds him that he’s real and he hates it.

melody's current thoughts . . . 💭
being overhaul’s special test subject ♡ but, you've accepted your phase and had become more comfortable around them— bratty even.
content warnings ; little space , bratty reader , hari is your main caretaker , Kai experiments on you , diapers/pull-ups, piss , they put you and treat you like a baby in the car , you wet yourself on the carseat and Kai degrades you for it, reader is an iPad kid. nothing smutty just fluff ):< (ew)
Tumblr media
Hari was always the one who carries you, bathed you and buy you pretty toys! If, you've been good of course. He's also the one to let you hold plushies while getting absolutely tormented by Kai — Kai's against it, but let it slide as long as it doesn't interfere with the experiment.
I've always thought about this too— going somewhere far for a work trip with Kai and Hari, them forcing you to come along just to make sure you don't run away, they know you won't , but a precaution is needed.
Of course for the 5 hour long ride Hari had to put you pull-ups , maybe the ones with the pretty patterns if you're lucky. Kai also doesn't wanna admit it, but even if he's the “cleanest” he's still the dirtiest out of everyone. Forcing Hari to feed you more water and telling him to ignore you everytime you said you needed to go, soon making you wet yourself and degrades you for it. “I told you to be fucking patient and you couldn't even wait? I thought you said you were a big girl, maybe not. You're just a useless mutt who doesn't know how to follow orders and just wants to be pampered all day aren't you? Now poor Hari has to clean up your mess. Don't you feel guilty? Do we need to potty train you again?” and you're just sitting there crying , I mean how could you not? He was so mean for no reason! He was the one that ignored you.
Also, getting gifts for being good (2) !! It's nothing that you ever asks for though, you could be asking for a novel and he'll bring you back a dollhouse. After all , aren't you too little for that? Can you even read?
Hari also feeds you food. All of them are soft foods – and disgustingly healthy too. Porridge , oats , mushed up carrots even. Sometimes you get the good stuff— carbonara spaghetti (that he cuts into bite size pieces) , pancakes (with blue berries and less sugar syrup) all the good stuff. Snacks are a different story. You're only allowed to snack about 2-4 times a day, 5 if you're lucky. The snacks are always pretzels , baby carrots , veggie straws and apple sauce. All of the food that's mainly for toddlers.
If he feels nice, you could play on his iPad! Of course, Hari’s watching you if he's not there— only watching the shows he allows you to watch, and games that he approves of. The iPad had parental control too, which was always annoying. Don't let getting an iPad thru your head though— if you refuses to sleep without it, you'll be forced to sleep with a few melatonin gummies and the experiments will be done without any meds to take the pain away ♡

No longer locked upon the land but free on the rolling waves
You and Buggy come face to face with himself from the past, and while you’re fully accepting that this is your husband as a child, Buggy doesn’t want to accept it.
Rating: PG-13ish, but just due to some swearing.
Warning: Upset kid, upset husband. Reader is way too nice, doesn’t necessarily take husband’s feelings into account as well.
A/N: A combined request. I did a few versions of this story before feeling like it hit the marks I was wanting to hit. Also, I’m just trying to vibe off what I’ve seen of Kid Buggy. I’m no expert. I’d protect that kid with my life. He’s so adorable. I also like the trope of “Meeting your self from another time” and “gets turned back into kid-self”. This is the former, and I know shit about time travel but I just kind of made something up. This story has also been a lot of fun to work on and the reaction from people has been lovely, thank you! There's at least one more chapter (unless I get a surge and suddenly write way more), but I may write a few one shots about Buggy and his wife because I've come to adore her a lot. Title comes from "Sailing Song" by S.J. Tucker.

Chapter Four
“Is he mad at me?” Buggy asked when the two of you were in the kitchen together. He was helping you make dinner; you gave him the task of cutting up carrots while you cut up onions and celery to throw in a large pot. Neither of you saw Buggy ever since the kid asked him about Shanks, and that was a few hours ago. He thought maybe he was in trouble, that the captain was mad at him for asking those questions.
“No, he isn’t.” You assured him as you wiped your knife on your apron. “Shanks is… a sensitive subject for him. I don’t even know what happened, but don’t worry, okay?” You smiled and took one of the pieces of carrot, popping it into your mouth. “I know the captain enjoyed showing the place off to you, y’know.”
“I liked seeing everything, especially those Buggy Balls!” Buggy grinned. “Can we fire one out of a cannon?”
“Oh uh, maybe?” You munched on the carrot as you took what he cut up so far, dumping them into the pot. “We’ll ask the captain next time we see him.”
Buggy nodded, watching the veggies get stirred in the pot for a bit before looking back up at you. “How long do I get to stay with you?”
That was a question you were waiting for but didn’t want to hear asked because you weren’t sure how to answer it. You didn’t know how long he would be with you, but what would get him home? Maybe tomorrow you could head back into town with him, see if anything can trigger his return, but part of you wanted to keep him around. Admittedly, that was a selfish want. He needed to return home because he had his own timeline to live through, and if he stayed here could it mess something up.
You smiled at him and shrugged. “I dunno, but maybe tomorrow we head into town where we met and see if anything happens. I bet you wanna head home.”
“Yea…” He trailed off, looking back down at the veggies. “But if I could stay… I think I would.”
That was a knife to the heart again, because you would let him stay if you could. You’d give him the love and attention you knew he deserved, support his dreams and endeavors, everything.
But he couldn’t stay. He needed to return home and that broke your heart. You just smiled at him and tossed some salt and pepper into the pot before pouring in some water.
“If you could, I know you would, and I’d be fine with that, Buggy.” You replied as you gave the pot a good stir before putting the lid on. “But… you have to go home at some point, because I don’t… know what could happen if you stay.” Turning to face him, you suddenly pulled him into your arms and hugged him. “I have loved having you around, you know. You’re a wonderful kid.”
He allowed the hug for a moment before pulling away, crossing his arms as he turned red. You chose not to say anything, instead just smiling and standing back up. He eyed you before bolting out of the kitchen all of a sudden, catching you off guard. What just happened? Did you upset him?
Your husband entered the kitchen at that moment, looking in the direction the kid ran off too. “What just happened?”
“I don’t know.” You said with a frown. “I hugged him and called him wonderful, then he took off.”
“Huh.” Adult Buggy shrugged and went over to the stove to see what was being made for dinner. As he lifted the lid off, seeing the soup starting to slowly simmer, the kid came rushing back in with something in his hand. Buggy frowned at his younger self. “What’s going on?”
The kid looked him up and down before turning to you, holding something in his hands. He looked smug as he grabbed your hand and placed the item into it. You were confused for a moment, and when he pulled his hand back and you saw what it was, you almost dropped it. You had completely forgotten about the pendant and this was the first time you really got to see it up close and you nearly dropped it in surprise.
“Consider this my proposal for when we meet again.” He said, looking quite proud of himself as he crossed his arms. Your husband’s jaw dropped and he raised the lid up, looking like he was going to throw it at him. You intervened and pocketed the pendant, kneeling down in front of the kid once more. It was hard not to laugh because the look of pride on the kid’s face was the same one you saw on a certain pirate captain when he asked you to marry him years ago, except you were given a bouquet of flowers with no petals (having been destroyed after he stole them and ran off with them) and a ring with a rock the size of his nose (also stolen).
“Thank you, it’s lovely.” You told him; your husband grumbled and put the lid back. He wouldn’t risk hitting you with it by accident. You leaned over and gave the kid a kiss on the cheek, choosing not to comment further when his face turned bright red. Instead, you stood up and patted him on the head. “I’ll treasure it, Buggy.”
The kid side-eyed the husband, smirking at him despite blushing brightly. The little shit, he should have at least kept it until he met you later on. It didn’t make sense to give it to you now while you were already married to his adult self, but Adult Buggy didn’t say anything after you gave him that look that told him to keep his mouth shut or there would be consequences since he would likely say something stupid. Grumbling, he decided to take a seat at the table instead, the kid taking the seat across from him. He glared at the kid and the kid just smirked. To you, this was just hilarious but you were doing your best not to start laughing.
~
You allowed them to fire one Buggy Ball out to the water after dinner and that was it. There was to be no town destroying during this trip and the identical grumpy looks from the two of them was amusing, but you put your foot down. You even stood by, watching to make sure it was just one, and the look of excitement on the kid’s face almost made you cave to allow a second one, but you remained strong. You didn’t cave, even when the two of them gave you doe eyes after your husband asked if they could.
And you decided to allow it after reminding the captain that it was wasting ammo, and that a demonstration was one thing, but now it was just a waste. He hated it when you pointed those things out. Reluctantly, he decided not to fire off a second one, much to his and the kid’s disappointment.
As it grew later into the evening, you decided it was time to settle in for the night. The kid was easier to get ready for bed than your own husband, but you knew the captain also needed to make sure the crew had taken care of the ship for the night as well.
The pendant was still in your pocket from the kid’s little proposal, the weight of it a reminder from a moment in your own past. You got the kid ready for bed but you didn’t change into your own sleep clothes, which he noticed and frowned at.
“You’re not ready for bed.” He pointed out as you tucked him under the covers. He reached out and grabbed your arm. “Are you leaving?”
“What? No, no.” You shook your head as you sat down on the edge of the bed. “I promise I’m not leaving the ship tonight, Buggy.” You reached over and touched his cheek softly with your free hand and he let go of you. “I need to go talk to my husband about something, but I won’t leave the room until you fall asleep, okay?”
Buggy wasn’t sure about that. You were constantly around, but now you were going to leave him alone in your room? You saw the hesitation on his face and sighed softly. “Promise I’ll be here when you wake up in the morning, but if you wake up after I leave the room tonight, you can come find me. I’ll just be out on deck with the captain, okay? I won’t be mad if you need me, Buggy.”
That seemed to help. The kid just nodded and settled down under the covers, pulling them up to his nose. You leaned down and kissed him on the forehead before straightening back up. “How about you tell me another story about your time on the Oro Jackson?”
He beamed and nodded, launching into a story about some mischief him and Shanks got into. He yawned a few times while telling it, and it wasn’t too long before his eyes closed and he fell asleep. You made sure he was comfortable, watching him for a few minutes while he slept before getting up and heading to the doorway. You looked back once more, making sure he was asleep before you left the room to go find your husband.
The captain was on deck, arms crossed as several crewmen lingered about, no doubt on the night watch shift. He glanced back at you when he heard you approach, holding his arm out to you to pull you close to him. He shrugged his captain’s coat off, draping it over you as you reached into your pocket and pulled the pendant out, holding it up to him. He frowned as he looked down at it.
It was an oval shape, cut from a piece of moss agate that when you held it up to the light, it was as though you were looking up at the sun through a thick forest of tall trees. You remember watching your father cut down and smooth the stone out to the shape it was while your mother fastened a chain to it, creating a lovely necklace for anyone who desired it. You remember it being on the table at their booth along with other pieces, but after a group walked past the table, it was missing. You remember being mad that it happened but your parents just shrugged it off, not bothered by the missing piece.
Now you had it in your hand over twenty five years later.
“What’s this?” Your husband asked as he took it out of your hand, frowning as he looked at it. He studied it for a moment, eyes widening slowly as he started to remember what it was. “This-”
“Mhm, my parents had it on the edge of their table, making it a prime target for anyone with sticky fingers to steal it.” You told him as you took it out of his hand and stuck it back into your pocket. “Didn’t think my husband was the one who stole it.”
“I-I-”
“Buggy, it’s okay.” You chuckled at the look of panic on his face. Did he think you were going to divorce him over something petty he did to your family as a kid? “I wanted to show it to you, but… I wanted to ask you something.”
“Anything.” He blurted out, trying to mask the concern on his face after seeing that pendant. “Whatever you want, babe, just don’t… ask for a divorce, please.”
“No, I’m not asking for a divorce.” You assured him, wrapping your arms around him. “But… I’m just curious what happened to you as a kid. Do you… remember any of this happening?”
He stared down at you and you tightened your arms around him, thinking he would bolt from you. Minutes went by before he finally shook his head and you frowned. He didn’t remember any of this, really?
“What… do you remember?”
He hesitated for a moment, checking his surroundings for a moment to make sure no one else was listening. The crewmen paid you no mind, knowing better than to stare or make any comments about the two of you when there was any sort of display of affection between the two of you. After what felt like an eternity, your husband sighed and just shrugged.
“I remember snatching the pendant off the table when we walked past, and I was a few steps ahead of everyone.” He reached up and rubbed his face while you continued watching him, resting your chin against his chest as you listened to him talk. “There was some kind of light and… I walked into it, but there was just a moment of darkness, like I blinked or something, and then I was back and nowhere near the crew without the pendant. They said they lost sight of me for about fifteen or twenty minutes, but they weren’t worried.”
“They weren’t worried?” You repeated with a frown. “A kid under their watch disappears for that long and they weren’t worried?”
“We’re pirates, it didn’t matter-”
“It matters to me.” You said firmly. “Pirates or not, you were a kid who got lost and ended up somewhere new and scary, Buggy. I can’t… I can’t even imagine what that would have been like.” You huffed, releasing your hold on him just a bit. “Were… you scared of the kid because of what had happened to you back then? About not remembering what happened?”
He nodded slowly. You reached up and put your hands on his cheeks, bringing his head down to kiss him. You were trying not to lose your head at that moment because the love you had for him was a lot. You’d level a city to get to him, burn down a town, and if you had the chance you’d go back with the kid and give that crew a talking to about how to handle a missing kid. It wasn’t right, fair, anything and your heart hurt knowing this. Every kid deserved love, to feel safe and protected, and here your husband just told you that the adults he knew just shrugged off the fact that he had been missing for just a few minutes, while the kid in your care had been with you almost three days.
You really wondered if you could sneak back in the timeline with the kid and give them a piece of your mind.
Your husband pulled back from the kiss first, a grin on his face as one of his hands went to your back, pulling your body closer to his.
“It’s fine now, babe, I’m fine.” He insisted as his hand slid down your back. “Seeing the kid was just… startling.”
“You threw him overboard.” You reminded him as his hand stopped at the base of your spine.
He rolled his eyes. “Stop bringing that up.”
“Don’t attempt to grab my ass when I’m being serious with you.” You shot back.
“Now hang on-”
“What’re you two arguing about?”
The two of you turned and saw the kid glaring sleepily in your direction. You pulled away from your husband and went over to him, lifting him up into your arms as he wrapped himself around you. With one arm you held him while the other pulled the coat off and draped it over him, wanting to make sure he was warm.
“Are you okay?” You asked him as you hugged him. He let his head drop onto your shoulder, nodding sleepily. “Come on, let’s go back to bed. I’m tired too.”
Your husband wanted to protest, he wanted more time with you, but the kid locked eyes with him and smirked. Oh, that little shit. Buggy huffed angrily, he would not be competing with a kid for your attention, but he was also very clingy of his wife, just like the kid was in this moment, and he would very much be ready to compete for your attention if needed.
“Buggy, come on, time for bed.” You called to him with a smile as you headed to the bedroom. The kid stuck his tongue out at the captain and he bristled angrily, ready to throw the kid overboard again if he needed to. Grumbling something about bratty kids, Buggy followed after you, wondering if he could throw the kid overboard without you noticing.

Lando Norris x fem!sprinter!reader
words: 2.1k
part: 2/? part one part two part three part four
warnings: none really
a/n: Feedback is appreciated:)
Woah.” Still standing at the door, Lando’s eyes widen as he looks around your room.
The whole drive back to your hotel you had been questioing every life choice you’d made that brought you to this moment.
The moment where you brought an F1 driver you just met to your hotel room.
He was nice, and you knew he wasn’t going to pull anything, but this was way out of character for you. The fact that he so quickly made you break your rules made you feel things you weren’t familiar with.
You realize Lando is still at the doorway. “Are you going to come in or do you plan on just standing there?”
He begins taking off his shoes, but his eyes don’t move from the window behind you. The sun has almost completely set, filling the penthouse with a soft glow and colouring the clouds soft shades of orange and pink.
“And you have all this to yourself?”
You shrug, “I love the view. I really like having a kitchen. The bed is more comfortable. I guess you could call it a guilty pleasure.”
Lando only whistles as he walks around taking in the space. He walks past the couch you’ve laid your open suitcases on and snorts as he passes the one filled with your sprint spikes.
“What the hell are these Y/N? You could kill someone with them!”
You laugh and walk over to explain all the different pairs of shoes to him.
“They’re sprint spikes Lando.”
What happened to the dinosaur wrestling gig?”
“This is just a little side project”
“So you’re a sprinter?”
“Yeah.”
“Wow that’s amazing. Why are there so many pairs?”
“There’s different ones for the 100 and 200, a pair for practice and an extra just in case.”
“That seems too complicated.”
“Because F1 isn’t?”
He responds by seating himself at the island and turning to look at you. “So are you going to cook me something?”
You scoff at him, but return to the kitchen and start pulling out the ingredients for dinner.
“I won’t eat fish. I also won’t eat anything spicy.”
Rolling your eyes you begin to cut up vegetables. “I was thinking a dinner bowl of sorts. Rice, veggies, chicken,” sarcastically you add, “does that suit your liking sir?”
Lando pauses.
“Y/N did you just call me sir?”
You look up, mortified but unsurprised but his immaturity, to see him half blushing half grinning maniacally at you. You throw a piece of carrot in his general direction, and with some luck it hits him square on the forehead.
He narrows his eyes at you. “Ugh yeah that’s fine I guess. As long as it’s also not spicy.”
You task him with cooking the rice, figuring it’s easy enough after deciding you didn’t quite trust him with a knife. In between figuring where the cookware was, you were surprised to find the conversation easy and comfortable. It felt like you’d known him for way longer than 5 hours and he brought a welcome new sense of life to the once cold penthouse.
“Oh my god Y/N it’s attacking me!” You keel over laughing when you turn to find the pot of water boiling over onto the stove top. At this point you’re pretty sure you’ve already laughed more tonight than you have in the last month.
Through your fits of laughter you scold lando. “You muppet you were supposed to be watching it! Are you really not capable of boiling water?”
“In my defence, I don’t cook a lot!”
“I don’t think that counts as cooking,” you exhale a laugh.
“You can drive a car at 300 kilometres an hour but you can’t boil water. What are you doing with your life?”
The atmosphere changes in a split second. His eyes flick downward and examine the floor before meeting yours. He holds your gaze for a few seconds before whispering “ I don’t know sometimes.”
In a second you see him go from McLarens golden boy with an infinite number of fans to the small scared boy who fell in a love with racing all those years ago, the boy who still tucks his face into his dads neck and leans into kisses from his grandma.
“Would you like a hug?”
You regret asking the question as son as it comes out of your mouth. You can’t tell if Lando looks humoured or disgusted by the offer. Instead of waiting for an awkward response you spin around, but before you turn fully you feel his arms on you.
He pulls you to his chest and wraps his arms tightly around your waist, tucking his face into the side of your neck.
Tentatively, you wrap your arms around his neck and and relax into the hug. Every time lando exhales you can feel his soft breath on your cheek and his back muscles are very evident under your hands.
There becomes a mutual need to keep holding on as you stay wrapped in each other for for what feels like hours as the sun sets around you. It’s only once the oven dings that he pulls away.
~
Lando shoves his last bite into his mouth with a moan.
“Oh my god Y/N that was so good”
You giggle, looking down at your bowl that’s not even halfway done. You’re sitting across from each other at the table, Landos back to the window casting a golden glow over his features. He sits patiently as you finish eating, asking you questions in between bites.
“Favourite flower?”
“Daises.”
“Night owl or morning person?”
“Morning.”
“Shoe size?”
“I really don’t see how these questions are relevant to anything,” you reply, scraping the last of your meal off the sides of the bowl.
He smiles sheepishly at you. “If we’re going to be friends we need to know more about each other. Obviously.”
You inwardly raise an eyebrow. The thought of being friends for longer than just tonight hadn’t even crossed your mind. There were about 100 people you’d think the Lando Norris would befriend before you.
You end up just smiling hesitantly at him. “Obviously.”
He stands up and takes your bowls to the kitchen, turning on the sink and rummaging through the drawers, looking for soap you assume. “Is this soap or laundry detergent?” He tosses the bottle at you and  thank god you catch it.
“Eucalyptus scented dish soap.” You translate, wrinkling your nose. “I don’t know if eucalyptus is a really appealing dish soap scent.”
He giggles at the thought of bowls that taste like eucalyptus before continuing with his endless list of questions.
“So you speak French and English?”
You let him begin to do the dishes but sit next to the sink on the counter, “English, French, Spanish and Dutch.”
“Show off.”
You dip your finger into the sink and flick some of the bubbles at him. They land in his curls and she shrieks at you like it was acid instead of soap.
“Y/N!” He grabs an entire handful of bubbles, lays his large hand flat, and blows them all in your face.
You gasp as your face gets covered in the soap, struggling to breathe as you laugh and try to wipe your face clean. When you can finally open your eyes again, Landos eyes are glinting with tears of laughter and he’s smiling his pretty smile as he watches you.
“You missed a spot.”
Running your hands over your hair, cheeks, forehead, you attempt to find the bubbles that escaped.
“Here.”
Lando steps between you legs dangling off the countertop. Softly, he brushes the top of your nose. Your skin tingles and suddenly you find yourself craving more of his touch.
Looking up you meet his eyes. The tips of his ears are red and his checks have flushed the same pink that tints his lips. The tension between you could be cut with a knife as the pads of his fingers linger a little longer than necessary on you.
“Thanks.”
He steps back. “Yeah.”
He shakes his head and you take a deep breath.
“If you had two words to describe your life what would they be?”
You’re grateful for his ability to break the tension.
“Glittery shitshow. Enough questions. It’s my turn. Favourite colour?”
“Orange.”
“One thing that will always make you happy?”
“Racing.”
It sounds like he’s reading the answers off of a script. He probably has.
“Lando. I’m not asking these questions to Mclarens Lando Norris. I’m asking them to you.”
He hesitates for a second.
“My favourite colour is dark blue tied with neon green, but only in small amounts, and going to the ocean with my friends and family will always make me happy.” He turns off the tap and faces you.
“Want to watch something on Netflix?”
It ends up taking you guys 10 minutes to hook his phone up to the TV, so it’s already late when you decide on watching an old Disney movie. You have 4 text from Charles and 3 from Arthur that are all a cross between 3 barley decipherable languages that you’ll answer in the morning.
The sun has completely gone down, the light from the TV illuminating the room. 4 minutes into the show you’re almost completely asleep, focusing more on Lando than the movie. He is really pretty.
“Y/N.” you realize Lando has caught you starting at him. For the second time this night.
Can I braid your hair?” You weren’t usually this bold with new people, taking your sweet time to begin trusting people, but for some reason he seemed to be the exception. You were also extremely tired, and you’ll probably never see him again so, fuck it.
Lando laughs. “Sure.” He shifts his position, bringing his head closer to make it easier for you. You pick some strands from the longest part of his hair and begin combing through the curls. As you begin weaving them together, Lando sighs happily and relaxes further and further into your touch.
His body heat is more comforting than you’d like to admit and but the time you’re done the braid your lashes stripe your vision as slowly your eyes close and you become impartial to the outside world.
~~
You groan and roll over as sunshine streams through your window. Peeking up, you see that the clock reads 7:45 am. The events of last night slowly trickle into your consciousness and you groan again. You pick up your phone, which somehow, along with yourself, made it’s way to your bed. There’s a sticky note pressed to the screen that reads:
“Thanks for dinner and the movie last night. I really enjoyed your company. Lando” there’s a uneven smiley face under the words with a number you can only assume is his.
When you get out of bed you find you’re still in your clothes and makeup from last night. By the time you’re showered dressed and having breakfast (yoghurt with berries today) it’s 10 o’clock.
You have to be at the track by 11:45 for training, so you figure your breakfast will also have to act as lunch. You skim through social media as you eat, replying and liking posts as your media manager expects.
Your training that day is light. You settle into the new track, focusing on the mechanics of your run. You leave feeling content about your performance. Your arm drive has improved massively since the beginning of the year and your times and race results were showing it. Your coach waves to you as you both pull out of the parking lot and join the highway.
By the time you grab food for the next few days, run by the bank and get back to the hotel it’s almost 3pm. You had been in contact with the Charles all day and his hangover wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be.
Thank god for that, because you would have blamed yourself if he had showed up to media day with a headache and bags under his eyes.
Scrolling through the F1 app you watch a few of his interviews, and as you pass one of Landos you impulsively click on it. You still hadn’t texted him, ashamed of how vulnerable you had been around him last night and embarrassed you fell asleep practically on him.
His face fills the screen as he awnsers the standard questions he does every weekend. When the reporter asks where him thinks he’ll place this weekend, his eyes flash and he chuckles awkwardly before he responds by saying “Another podium would be nice.” The reporter hums a response to this and thanks him for his time.
When he runs a hand through his hair and turns to leave the frame, you see the small braid you gave him last night still resting in its nest of curls.

Today on making recipes I saw on my dash: I wanted to make this "Mongolian chicken" recipe and then did one of those "loved this recipe! I added several things and made a ton of substitutions :)" recipe review moves. Instead of chicken, I used tofu, and I also added broccoli and mushrooms. There's also some rice hidden under there.
Revised recipe under the cut for my own notes (vegan & gluten free!):
First I want to give a direct link to the original recipe. Flavor text indicates this is meant to be a slightly healthier take-out food mimic. I also referenced this recipe when deciding how to fry tofu (which I've never done before!). Small text indicates notes. I usually don't measure things so not everything has an amount.
Ingredience (tm):
cooking oil of your choice
extra firm tofu (I used a 16 oz block but if I repeat this i'd probably do two blocks)
corn starch (2 tbsp for frying the tofu)
soy sauce (or tamari for the gluten free) (1 tbsp for frying the tofu)
garlic powder
2 crown broccoli
small tub of mushrooms (8 oz? maybe??) (i bought pre-sliced mushrooms and then broke them up into smaller pieces by hand)
yellow onion, chopped (will probably only use half an onion in the future lmao)
4-5 green onions/scallions
you could also use all sorts of other veggies: peppers, snow peas, carrots, zucchini, etc. the world is your oyster..........
Sauce Ingredience (tm):
1 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (this has a strong flavor so definitely actually measure)
chopped scallion whites
ginger (I use ginger paste)
minced garlic (recipe calls for 3 cloves but i use jar garlic and just go wild)
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce (or tamari sauce)
1/2 brown sugar
1 tbsp corn starch
1/4 cup vegetable stock or water (or chicken stock if you prefer)
something spicy. i used red chilli flakes but you could also try something like sriracha
Technically this is a one pan recipe (or wok, if you're fancy) but you will also use several other bowls and plates. Okay here's how to make it.
Fry tofu:
Press water out of tofu (wrap the block in paper towels, then balance a plate on it and put something heavy on the plate. leave like that while you putter around the kitchen trying to find where the FUCK the vegetable stock concentrate is. or use a tofu press if you have one).
Cut tofu into small blocks
Toss tofu with 2 tbsp corn starch + 1 tbsp soy sauce + garlic powder
Add enough oil to pan to coat the bottom and heat. Add tofu and let sit until bottom browns. Flip tofu pieces to brown other side. If you want to also get the sides you can do more flipping. Or you can get bored and stop
If you're smart, prep veggies by washing and cutting them while tofu fries. I was not smart
Move tofu to plate or bowl
I was surprised by how fucking tasty the tofu was right out of the pan? The garlic powder elevated it to something almost addictive. I ate several pieces while cooking everything else. I did think that later tossing the tofu with the sauce detracted from the crispiness of the tofu. So, next time I will probably keep the tofu separate and add it in last.
Also, if you want rice, start it up around here.
Cook veggies:
prep by cleaning and cutting up veggies
in the same pan as the tofu, add a small amount of oil (or don't, if you have left over oil from the tofu)
toss in veggies in reverse order of how long they will take to cook to the degree you want them. i wasn't smart in my organization so i did the mushrooms by themselves while i cut up onions and broccoli
cook, stirring frequently, until they're as cooked as you want them
move veggies to plate/bowl
Make Sauce:
prep: whisk together 1 tbsp corn starch and 1/4 cup vegetable broth in a small bowl
in the same pan, add sesame oil, scallion whites, ginger, and garlic
cook ~1 min, or however long it takes you to get your shit together to add other ingredients
add rice vinegar, soy sauce/tamari, brown sugar. stir to combine. yes 1/2 cup soy sauce AND brown sugar seems like a lot. yes it will taste fine, i promise
add corn starch/broth slurry. stir
add your chili flakes. stir.
sauce should have thickened
Now dump your tofu + veggies into the pan and then toss to coat with sauce. Garnish with scallion greens. Done!!!

Puppy dinner 🦴
I've been thinking about puppy! yujin having the palate of a 5 year old,,, cause' she's super picky though in short, for Yuj veggies are meanie, and puppy snacks are goodie 🥺 sooo here some more thoughts on puppy yuj before I go on with the rest of hybrid! IVE, and the fics I have yet to write, so hope you enjoy it 🩷
tags: puppy! yujin x fem! reader, fluff, hybrid AU.
Tumblr media
Yujin is sitting at the dining table, wearing one of your baggy hoodies. Her tail wags gently, expectantly, finally picking up speed as soon as you place the dinner in front of her, served on a deep plate. Yujin rises slightly from her seat to see what she'll be eating that night.
Broccoli, she thinks with a pout as she lowers her ears, a gesture that quickly transforms into an adorable grimace of distaste as she sees the contents of the plate. She barks in a whiny tone, making puppy eyes.
Yujin doesn't particularly like vegetables (she prefers puppy treats, especially cookies, a thousand times over, or a nice little piece of roast beef), although she is able to tolerate some like lettuce and peas, but broccoli... she can't tolerate it. She hates it, even considers it her worst enemy.
"Come on, puppy, it's time for dinner," you say in a honeyed, almost motherly tone as you take a seat across from her. Yujin is grouchy in her own cute way; scowling, ears flat and barking plaintively. But you ignore her gestures, because it's a tantrum like any other.
Using your fork, you take a piece of broccoli, and bring it up to Yujin's mouth. "Come on, Yujinnie. You have to eat."
Yujin shakes her head, pursing her lips now, refusing to open her mouth. No way in hell is she going to eat that wicked broccoli. You are aware of the puppy's attitude, so you decide to take another approach and start feeding her the other vegetables on the plate, to make it easier.
The broccoli will come later, for last.
So for a while, Yujin eats the peas one by one, followed by the lettuce and carrots. You smile in amusement, because your puppy is such a good girl (when she's not upset about eating broccoli, of course), and in a matter of a few minutes she finishes her vegetables almost completely. All that's left in the bowl are the little pieces of broccoli, waiting to be eaten by the adorable hybrid.
"Can I get off? I've finished my dinner, owner," asks Yujin in a soft, affectionate tone. You know she's using her secret weapon, tenderness, to distract you and make you forget about the broccoli. But you're not going to let her beat you so easily.
"Baby," you just have to utter that word, in a firm tone, to get her attention. Yujin turns, and suspects she's been spotted, but her adorable facial expression doesn't change, so as not to give herself away, and she prefers to continue her mischievous little lie.
"Yes, owner?"
"Aren't you forgetting something?" you raise an eyebrow, looking directly at her. Then your eyes briefly glance at the bowl, as if to say ‘eh, you're forgetting that,’ but Yujin doesn't take any notice. She's still adorable, making an innocent face, as if she doesn't understand what you mean.
"I don't think so, owner," Yujin replies, her tone sincere. For a moment, as you look at her, you get the slight impression that she's going to start giggling, which will give her away for good. But Yujin is determined to see this lie through to the end, because she's not going to give in and agree to eat that awful broccoli. Never.
"Pup, you and I both know you're missing something. It starts with B, and ends in Broccoli" you take your fork and prick a piece of the said vegetable, showing it to her and waving it slowly in front of her eyes.
And Yujin can't pretend any longer, and ends up giving herself away when she starts her tantrums and pouting. It's a sequence of puffing her lips and pouting, wagging her tail and twitching her ears, and finally just making little whiny noises. You find it all genuinely adorable, and though you smile inwardly, you can't change your position, as you must remain steady, so that Yujin can eat her vegetables.
"Come on, angel, you must eat the broccoli. You know the doctor said you should eat more vegetables, because of your puppy diet," you put the broccoli back in her mouth, and she again refuses to eat it, pursing her lips.
That's when you start to despair, because Yujin's doctor told you that you can't keep letting her eat so many puppy treats, as her hybrid organism is different from that of a human, and in the long run it will affect her health. And you, who don't want to see your little angel like that, feeling sickly, is the reason why you try so hard to make her eat.
But now you're worried that you don't have a plan B, while on the other side of the table Yujin just throws a tantrum, until a miraculous idea practically springs to life.
Out of the panic of the moment, it hadn't occurred to you.
"Okay, fine, pup. Let's make a deal."
Hearing that, and seeing you put down your fork and no longer try to give her the alien broccoli, Yujin relaxes. She doesn't let her guard down completely, though, and remains vigilant in case you try again.
"Yuj listen, owner."
"Look, baby, for every broccoli you eat, I'll reward you with kisses or stuffed animals, whatever you decide." Yujin knows you can't reward her with doggy cookies for some time, at her doctor's request. And Yujin is a good girl at least most of the time, so she has to listen to the doctor, so she doesn't insist. "Do you agree...?"
You're practically praying for your hybrid puppy to accept, as that's your ultimate plan. You have no choice (or you do, but that one ends with you throwing the broccoli in the trash, and you hate to throw away perfectly good food).
"Yuj doesn't like alien broccoli..." the hybrid begins to speak as a blush take over her cheeks, calmly wagging her tail. She looks shy and adorable, which is the side you like best. "But the doctor says Yuj should eat more vegetables and less puppy cookies. And Yuj is a good girl, and as a good girl I must listen to Miss Doctor."
Relieved, you sigh and sketch a smile, calm at last. It is then that, after pouting and protesting, Yujin agrees to eat the broccoli, slowly and with a few whiny noises, but she does.
"That's it, puppy, you're so good, my love. You deserve all the stars as a reward." You love praising her (you have been doing it since the first day you met her), and you know it's well received, as the puppy hybrid becomes into a cute, giggly, cuddly little pup, her cheeks flushing and her tail wagging restlessly.
And that's the kind of thing that makes your heart race, thudding against your ribs, because you love Yujin, you love your puppy even with her sulks, tantrums and refusals to eat vegetables.
Because at the end of the day, despite everything, you love Yujin with every part of your being.

top five soups!!!!!!!!
OK SO
#1 is my uncle's chicken matzah ball soup. Its a family legend of a soup. it's essentially a chicken stew and the signature spice is Hawaij: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawaij. it WILL stain anything it gets on yellow and its WONT come out. 100000/10 soup. On the application to the college I eventually went to the final application question was "what is one food you would cook for the admission team?" and I put this soup. (recipe will be under the cut)
#2: UDON AND RAMEN. both rank the same. slurp slurp noodles ohmmygod
#3: just a hearty meat and veggie soup plz
#4: spaghettios counts as soup sorry. so i guess cheesy-tomato soup. yum yum.
#5: melted ice cream that I eat like a soup
OK NOW FOR THE LEGENDARY SOUP RECIPE:
Matzo Ball Soup
Recipe from: Mum
Makes:
1 whole 8-piece chicken
1 turnip, chunked
1 rutabaga, chunked
2-3 large carrots, diced
1 onion, diced
1 head of whole garlic cloves
Lots of whole fresh parsley
1 tbsp Osem soup flavoring
1 Manischewitz Matzo Ball Soup Mix
Tons of Hawaij
Put a whole 8-piece chicken in a large pot with water. Bring to boil, skimming off the schmaltz that will gather on the top. (Schmaltz is a foamy-like fatty substance that appears on the rim.) Stop when the foam stops forming on the top of the soup.
While the chicken boils/cooks, chop up one turnip, one rutabaga, two to three large carrots, and one onion (just depends on preference). Add these to the pot along with whole garlic cloves. Add Osem chicken soup seasoning (to taste), about one tablespoon. Note this adds a good amount of salt to the soup. For richer flavor, you can use chicken/bone broth for the base soup as well. If you do this, add less water in the beginning as this will add volume.
Use Manischewitz matzo ball soup mix to make matzo balls (follow its instructions) and add the soup mix to the pot. Add tons of Hawaij (turmeric-like spice from the middle east). Must be Hawaij MARAK (marak = soup). Add in lots of whole parsley.
Note on adding matzo balls to soup: they take time to absorb the soup into the ball, but also get mushier as they sit in the liquid longer. So, add them whenever you decide, weighing these factors.
Optional: after a long time of simmering on low boil, remove the chicken and de-bone so you do not have to deal with that while eating. I do this by shredding it with two forks so I do not have to touch the boiling hot chicken. My mom does this by hand, burning her fingers.
*my uncle also sues potato in this soup but my family dislikes potato in soup so we removed it. feel free to add that back in! add different veggies. it will all taste of hawaij in the end.

This is the recipe for the Asian Medley potato soup. I left a few things out of mine cause I didn’t have them like the garlic powder and onion powder (but I put them here cause Ik it would make it taste better) and same with the optional stuff i just put things I thought would make it taste better but I didn’t have any.
Mine was about 158 cals, with sesame oil it’s 180 cals so I did no sesame oil. (In general I don’t usually count seasoning cals but some of you may so I put it in) Keep in mind the cals may be different depending on the brand you use.
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup Asian medley vegetables (broccoli, carrots, snap peas, peppers, etc.)
• 1 packet Bare Bones bone broth (prepared according to packet instructions, usually 1 cup)
• 1/2 clove garlic, minced
• 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1 small potato, peeled and diced
• 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/4 teaspoon paprika
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Optional: Toasted sesame seeds, chopped cilantro or parsley, a squeeze of lemon or lime juice, or green onions.
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Bone Broth:
• Prepare the Bare Bones bone broth according to the packet instructions, usually by mixing the contents of the packet with hot water to make 1 cup of broth.
2. Prepare the Vegetables:
• If the vegetables in the Asian medley are not already bite-sized, chop them into smaller pieces.
• Peel and dice the small potato (Optional peel)
3. Sauté the Aromatics:
• In a small pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ground ginger, and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
4. Cook the Potatoes:
• Add the diced potato to the pot and sauté for a couple of minutes.
5. Add the Broth:
• Pour in the prepared bone broth. Bring the soup to a gentle boil.
• Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are almost tender.
6. Add Seasonings and Vegetables:
• Add the Asian medley vegetables, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to the pot. Continue to simmer for another 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables and potatoes are tender.
7. Finish and Serve:
• Taste the soup and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Pour the soup into a bowl and garnish with chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, chopped cilantro or parsley, and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice.
(It may have to sit longer, mine was sitting for a while cause I wanted it soft, if you use frozen veggies you should definitely wait maybe an extra 10 mins.)

healthy foods and recipes that i use on a daily basis(>•<)💭🍣
these r just some recipes for foods that i eat every single day, and they r healthy and easy to make. they r also great if u have a busy lifestyle bcuz they're super easy and quick to make <3
remember to eat yummy food that fuels u 💗
Tumblr media
SALADS -
carrot salad - carrots! carrots r an amazing source of vitamin A and isn't only beneficial for ur skin, but also ur eyesight, and ur immune system; for the recipe i'd wash a carrot and shave it, then add one cap of apple cider vinegar and olive oil, with salt and pepper and i'll eat that as a side dish along with my meal
cucumber salad - cucumbers r also an amazing source of hydration and is great for ur skin. just slice a couple cucumbers and add olive oil, salt, pepper, and chili flakes
meditteranean salad - dice cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, and make a vinaigrette using lemon, olive oil, and salt and pepper and add those all together with some basil for a hydrating delicious salad
SNACKS -
pan con tómate - its simply toasted bread with oil, grated tomatoes, garlic, salt and pepper
apple slices and peanut butter
frozen grapes with lime juice on top
literally any assortment of veggies with lime juice and salt
sliced fruit bowls with lemon juice
DINNERS -
how i make tofu - so i always use firm tofu and i'll dry it with a paper towel just to make sure that its dry (make sure to drain the excess water) and on a separate plate i'd add some flour, and seasonings of my choice. then coat the tofu in the flour and put it on a hot pan (approximately 5 min per side of tofu) or until its crispy, and then i'll make a sauce, usually with soy sauce, ginger and honey.
cucumber sushi - i'd wash and shave cucumbers, then take the shavings and lay them out as though it was wrapping paper (if that makes sense) then dry it with a paper towel so that the ingredients can stick onto it. then i'd fill it with sticky rice, sauces, tuna sometimes, or literally anything u wanna fill it with and then roll it up like u would do with sushi and cut it into pieces.
SANDWICHES -
sandwich one - take a hard boiled egg and break it down in a bowl, and add some mayo and mustard (trust) to create a paste like mixture. spread all that onto some bread. then add some lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.
BREAKFASTS -
overnight oats - in a container, add some oats, greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey, fruits of choice (i often use strawberries or blueberries) and almond milk and then shake that up and let it stay in the fridge overnight for an easy breakfast in the morning.
chia seed pudding - add three tablespoons of chia seeds into a container, half a cup of almond milk, one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and some honey (add coco powder if u like chocolate) and then put that in the fridge overnight.

psst can i rq some tiny shinonomes hcs???
OF COURSE~!! ^_−☆
Headcanons under the cut! Thank you for the ask, anon!!
...(i didn't know if you wanted headcanons of akito and ena separately, or together, so i did both! I hope you enjoy!!)
Tumblr media
AKITO U・x・U
I personally headcanon Akito as a kid regressor, around 5-8 when he's little!! He is definitely a little brother regressor, even with people other than Ena! He just has little brother energy!
Secretly so clingy!!! It's not something he wants people to know, but when he's small and with someone he really trusts, he will always be close to them!!
With Vivid Bad Squad, he tries to hide when he's feeling a bit smaller than usual, but his partners are quite good at picking up on his small traits, and the slightest affection and care from them makes him the smallest boy!!!
Surprisingly picky when small. Carrots are obviously a big no-no, but it's hard to get the little guy to eat any veggies when he's small!! Why would you eat anything other than pancakes and cheesecakes?
Surprisingly, a great playmate!!! He gets along much better with people when he's small, and enjoys playing! With older regressors he can play sports, with smaller ones he can color and play pretend with!
ENA U^ェ^U
Like my headcanons for Akito's age, I believe Ena is a kid regressor, probably around age 6 on average! She maintains her pride even when she's small, standing firm on being a big girl when she's small, even though some petnames or sweet affection has her feeling so small!
Her artistic flair doesn't disappear when she regresses! However, her art makes a shift, from painting with brushes, to finger-painting! She makes the most beautiful pieces for her friends, being the talented little creator she is!
With Niigo meeting at 1 A.M., a little Ena struggles to stay awake for that meeting. There have been a few occasions of Ena regressing and falling asleep to the sounds of her friends voices on Nightcord, but it's so adorable to think about, how could they possibly mind?
The plushies in her room get the most use when she's little. If she is feeling lonely and can't chat with any of her friends, she has sleepovers with her plushies!! And, of course, she still enjoys selfies and photoshoots when little, so she can occasionally dress her plushies up and take photos with them to send to her friends!!! (they find these photos so cute)
We all know Ena is very stylish and aesthetic, caring about her appearance greatly, which carries over into her regressions! She loves playing dress up, having so much fun, being a pretty princess, a famous artist, a model, anything she can imagine while going through her closet!! ...she's a bit shy about this pastime, but she enjoys it so much!!!!
TOGETHER!!
You might not assume this from first impressions of the Shinonomes, but they are some of the cuddliest regressors ever!!! Playmates, caregivers, and especially eachother, they cuddle with all of them!! When the Shinonomes are small and sleepy, they cuddle up together with plushies and nap!!! They were a bit shy about it at first, but its grown into an important part of their bond when regressed.
Ena is occasionally quite whiny when she's little, wanting to play, color, cuddle, dress up, and being denied these fun activities only makes her whinier. Luckily, Akito, who I believe is an amazing playmate, is always up for it!! Anything for his big, or sometimes little, sis!
While there is some snark and argument in their relationship still, it is definitely muddled. Regressing is a very comfy, safe thing for them, and part of this comfort involves their happiness together. They play fight, wrestle a bit, horse around, but at the end of the day, the two siblings care about eachother deeply.
THANK YOU FOR READING, AND AS ALWAYS, HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVENING, AND NIGHT!!!!

Vegetarian Pot Pie
hey whats up i made this for my friends and they said it was good, so I decided to write the recipe down while i still remember it (for once in my life), so I can make it again. I will share it with you.
This is rich, filling, delicious, but doesn't just taste like a sad chicken pot pie with no chicken. This is a proper vegetarian dish, and perfect for winter. Extremely cozy and nice. If u need something to make for Christmas but don't want to work all day, this is for you.
It does not have peas because I'm not a fucking MONSTER
...
Ingredients:
1 leek
1 sweet potato (I used white sweet potato, orange are too sugary for me)
1 large russet potato or 2 small-medium
1 large carrot or 2 small-medium
1 large parsnip
mushrooms of choice (i used pre-sliced baby bellas)
2 decent-sized cloves of garlic
sage
rosemary
thyme
parsley
cream (milk or a milk sub is ok too but it won't be as rich)
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp ap flour
1 carton (or 2 cans) vegetable stock
white wine (i used chard but any other non-sweet white like a pinot grig would be ok. just no sweet whites, the root veggies are plenty sweet)
s&p
store-bought pie crusts (if you like suffering make it yourself!)
utensils:
1 pie pan
1 small pot
Strainer (you can use a slotted spoon to remove stuff if you don't have [or let it cool and use your fingers])
1 lg. saucepan
Knife
Spatula or Big Spoon
(steps below cut)
To begin you're going to want to enhance your vegetable stock-- store-bought veggie stock is boring and often too tomatoey, we want to mitigate that. Veggie broth doesn't have to taste dull!
Separate leek greens from whites. If your leek is pretty stumpy, you can use 2.
In a small pot at medium-high heat, sear the leek greens on both sides, and sautee 1-2 mushroom, sliced. Once the leek greens have been browned in spots, add 3/4ths cup white wine or so (you can eyeball it). Simmer until all the alcohol smell is gone from the wine (won't take long.)
If you feel inclined, you can also add any carrot/parsnip tops you might have trimmed off, to save waste. Keep in mind that these are both sweet vegetables, though, and that might change the flavor a little. Carrot greens tho would add a nice bit of freshness, and would be a fine sub for parsley.
Add vegetable stock, a sprig of thyme, rosemary, sage, and parsley (you can tie them together w/kitchen twine to make a bouquet garni, but if you're gonna strain the stock you don't need to)
You can also add bay leaf if you have like 3 containers of them in your spice cabinet for some reason and need an excuse to use them.
Turn the heat under the stock down to low, and simmer until it's reduced by about a third, maybe an hour (it can hang out while you do other stuff.)
Peel potatoes, cut into 1 to 1/2 inch chunks (small but not tiny). You should have about two cups. cube size is partially preference, but smaller chunks mean you can get all the flavor in every bite.
Do the same for the sweet potato, but reduce amount to a cup. You won't use the whole potato for this recipe, but they're SO good roasted wrapped in tinfoil and eaten plain with salt.
Scrub parsnip and carrot, cut into pieces that seem about the same as the potatoes, about a cup of each. (I don't peel my carrots don't @ me.)
Cut leek whites into half-circles.
If your mushrooms are not pre-cut, slice mushrooms until you have about a cup of them ready to go.
Please note, if you have extra veg cut-- just add it. Extra filling is no big deal you can just eat it by itself or add it to your plate of pie. No need to waste anything.
Squash and finely chop garlic cloves.
In a large saucepan on medium- medium high heat, add 3 tbsp butter and 3 tbsp flour, mix together as butter melts to form a cohesive mixture- a roux.
Cook until roux is starting to bubble. Add leeks, add carrots, mushrooms, and parsnips. Salt lightly to encourage moisture loss.
Sautee in the roux for 3-5 minutes or so until the veggies are starting to smell good and the roux is getting gold, then add garlic.
Cook for 30 seconds to a minute more, stirring constantly, until you can smell the garlic. Garlic burns easily!
Strain enhanced stock into saucepan.
Add potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Stir until the roux dissolves into the stock and it begins to thicken, and then turn down to low heat (you want small and regular bubbles, but not big glorpy ones).
It might not look like enough gravy, but we don't want a ton. It's a pie, not a stew. If you REALLY think it's not enough, your stock might have reduced too far. Add a bit of water if you must.
Remove leaves from 1 large sprig thyme, and add to filling. Remove leaves from and finely dice 1 sprig rosemary. Do the same for sage. Toss out the stems.
The gravy should still be thin-ish, but we're going to reduce it down more as the potatoes are cooked through.
Cook until potatoes are just barely fork-tender. Even slightly undercooked is ok. Taste gravy for salt and pepper. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add 1/3rd cup heavy cream/milk or so. Stir in.
Strip the leaves from 1-2 sprigs of parsley, finely chop, stir into gravy.
Taste again. Season again if necessary.
Let the filling cool. Try not to eat it all.
Unroll 1 pre-made pie crust, and put in the bottom of your pie pan. Try to make it even all the way around.
Now! The easy way to seal a pie (without egg wash) is as follows.
Fold down the edge of the lower crust so that it sticks out past the top edge of the pie pan.
Add filling. Get that shit as full as you can while keep that sticking out edge of the pie crust dry.
Place top pie crust over the pie.
Fold the edge of the lower crust over the upper crust, rolling them up together to make the crust edge.
Either with a fork or with pinching, make the edge crust look prettier.
If the edges of both the lower crust and the upper crust have been rolled inside themselves, you shouldn't have filling leakage.
Cut venting holes on top in whatever quirky design you want.
Stick in a 350f (177c?) oven until it's done.
I don't know how long, I don't measure those things. The crust will be golden brown and the filling will be bubbly.
the wine is skippable, yes, but it adds some acidity that you need. try a squeeze of lemon into your gravy if you don't use it.

Dinner Recipe: Orange Chicken
Tumblr media
TIME: ★★✰✰
PRICE: ★★★✰
EASE: ★★★✰
CLEANUP: ★★★✰
The original recipe I learned off of is meant to be a dupe of a now discontinued Applebee's dish that I loved. It takes about 1 hr but I have since streamlined it so it takes more like 30-40 minutes. It flies by if you have your ingredients set up in advance! Even so, if you have the time or motivation, I'd recommend trying the original recipe as written first!
This recipe takes longer if you decide to fully fry the chicken, but you can totally skip the fry step and just cook it if you want!
While I like using a lot of fresh produce (I'm a veggie fiend,) you could easily cut down on the cost by using frozen stir fry veggies. Hoisin sauce is pretty important to this recipe though, and a bottle can be like $5. HIGHLY recommend having it in your fridge anyway, though, if you like Chinese food!
The recipe is fairly easy, though I think the original recipe makes it seem more complicated than it is. I can kind of wing it at this point, but it took a couple passes.
Cleanup can be fairly quick, but there will likely be things that touched raw chicken that need special attention and the sauce could be annoying to clean depending on what kinda pan you used.
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
Chicken (I’ve made it with breast and thighs) 2 breasts? For leftovers.
Cornstarch
Oil for frying
Garlic
Preferred veg (broccoli, carrot, frozen peas, and bell pepper is what I use!) About 1-2 cups total, depending on how much you like.
Sliced almonds
Rice
IF you want to fry the chicken, you will also need an egg and flour (and more oil)
For the sauce
Orange juice (1 cup)
Hoisin sauce (½ cup)
Brown sugar (¼ cup)
1. Cut the chicken into preferred bite-sized cubes/strips.
If you want to fry it, mix a 1/2 cup of flour with 1/4th cup of corn starch in one cup. Then use a fork to whisk the egg in a separate bowl. Dunk each piece of chicken into the egg, then into the flour mixture before putting it into the pan. (You can do a light crisp instead of a fry by JUST coating your chicken in cornstarch. It takes a lot less time!)
Cook it up in a wide pan with about 1/4th"-1/2" vegetable oil, REMOVE THE CHICKEN FROM THE PAN (place it in a paper-towel lined bowl to absorb some of the residual oil)
2. Drain MOST OF (but not all of) the oil. Be sure the pan isn’t too hot, then cook some minced garlic (I do onion, too.) Once the garlic starts smelling good, add the sauce ingredients and simmer it until it begins to thicken.
3. Tossed your chopped veg into the sauce and cook it for a bit in there until the sauce begins to thicken around it. If I feel I didn’t make enough sauce, I’ll alternate between splashing some orange juice in and adding a little more hoisin sauce.
4. Add the cooked chicken back in and mix it with the veg/sauce. Serve it on rice. Top with almonds, orange slices, sesame seeds...or nothing! Whatever floats your boat!
Leftovers: This could make SO many leftovers depending on how much chicken and rice you add to it! But I wouldn't recommend freezing it! Try to eat within 3 days of cooking!

[ID: A large, shallow bowl filled with soup with orange broth, noodles, mushrooms, and bell peppers, garnished with green onion and cilantro. A plate of dumplings and a bowl of sauce are visible in the background. End ID.]
Thukpa /  थुक्पा (Nepali noodle soup)
Thukpa is a Himalayan noodle soup that originated in Tibet before becoming popular in Nepal, Butan, and northeast India, where many different varieties of it are eaten in the home and as a street food. This Nepali-style version is flavored with green chilis, cumin, coriander, and ginger, and brightened with the addition of fresh herbs and lime juice. This is a warming, filling, one-pot meal, perfect for winter!
Recipe under the cut.
Patreon | Tip jar
Serves 8-10.
Ingredients:
1/2 each green, yellow, and red bell pepper, sliced
1 green hot chili pepper, slit
4 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
2-inch chunk ginger, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp cumin seeds, toasted and ground
1 Tbsp coriander seeds, toasted and ground
1 large or 2 small roma tomatoes, diced (150g)
250g dried thukpa noodles or Chinese wheat noodles
1/2 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup quartered button mushrooms
1 large carrot, julienned
8 cups (2L) water
1 Tbsp vegetarian chicken stock from concentrate, or 2 vegetarian chicken-flavored stock cubes (optional)
Juice of 1 lemon or lime
Bunch of garlic greens, or fresh cilantro, chopped
1 Tbsp soy sauce (optional)
Salt to taste (about 2 tsp, less if you used a stock cube containing salt)
1/2 tsp chaat masala or garam masala (optional)
Mustard oil is typically used for this soup, but you can also use any neutral oil.
Nepali thukpa noodles may be found at an Asian grocery store or purchased online. They may be labeled "Thukpa noodles" or "Himalayan noodles." Any thin wheat noodle may be used as a substitute.
Thukpa also commonly includes chicken. I have omitted it and focused on the veggies in this recipe (a lot of Nepali thukpa recipes are vegetarian!), but if you have a chicken substitute onhand you can cook it in the oil at the beginning of step 2, then remove it from the pot; return it to the soup when ready to serve.
Chickpeas, split bengal gram, or other beans are sometimes added to vegetarian versions of Nepali thukpa for protein. Add in cooked beans or grams at step 7.
Chicken stock is not usually used in this soup. I like to use a vegetarian chicken stock cube in my version to simulate the effect of boiling chicken in the soup water along with the vegetables; I think it adds a nice savor.
Instructions:
1. Boil noodles according to package directions, until they are al dente (use salted water if the noodles themselves do not contain salt). Drain noodles and rinse with cold water to halt cooking.
2. In a large pot, heat oil on medium until shimmering. Add onion and saute, agitating occasionally, 3-5 minutes until translucent. Add ginger, garlic, and green chili and fry for 30 seconds until fragrant and no longer raw-smelling.
3. Meanwhile, add half of ground coriander and cumin to a small bowl and add just enough water to form a thick paste. When garlic and ginger are fragrant, add the spice paste to the pot and cook, stirring often, until the water has evaporated to bloom the spices.
4. Add tomatoes and cook, covered, for 2 minutes until soft. Mash with the flat of a ladle.
5. Add mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, and bell peppers. Cook, uncovered, on medium low for 3 minutes, then cover and cook for another 3 minutes.
6. Add the rest of the ground coriander and cumin and stir to combine.
7. Add water (and chicken stock concentrate or cubes, if using) and bring to a boil. Cook for a few minutes until vegetables are tender and cooked through.
8. Add chaat masala or garam masala and simmer another minute.
9. Reduce heat to low. Add green onion, garlic greens, lime juice, and soy sauce and simmer for another minute.
10. Add cooked noodles (and chicken, if using) and heat until warmed through. Taste and add salt if necessary. Serve hot.
