Sunny woke with a start, her heart pounding, mouth dry, and she was gasping for breath as she tried to untangle herself from the blankets.

She wouldn't look to her left, not wanting to look at who was in bed with her. He would just tell her to go back to sleep, it was just a dream, darling but it never was a dream. It was a nightmare, much like the reality she lived in daily with this man who threatened the lives of her loved ones if she wouldn't be his wife.

Her nightmare had her trapped in a jar, sand filling up around her as she tries to avoid it, hoping to escape through the top, but anytime she gets close she would fall down into the sand building up.

Sunny wanted to get out of bed, to escape this as panic continued to surge through her, but when she felt the hand on her stomach she stopped.

There was no arm attached to the hand.

She heard a snuffle, a grunt, and then snoring resumed.

Her heart was still racing, she was still trying to calm herself, but she pulled the blankets back enough to see a mass of blue hair and...

Oh thank God, it was Buggy. She was safe with Buggy.

She didn't need to run or hide. She was safe.

Carefully, she moved the hand off her body before she settled back into the bed and scooted closer to Buggy. She hesitated to wake him up but... She wanted a hug.

Sunny shook him, whispering his name, and it took a few tries before he grunted and mumbled something as he turned to look at her sleepily. His face had marks from his pillow, there was dried drool in the corner of his mouth, and he looked about as scary as Richie when he napped.

Buggy didn't say anything before wrapping himself around her, pulling her against him as he settled back down to sleep. She was glad he didn't speak, that he fell back asleep so quickly, but being in his arms, feeling herself start to calm down, was all she needed in that moment to feel safe.
