In the article "Ghost Guns — Myth vs. Reality" by Richard Johnson, published on The Armory Life, the author delves into the contentious topic of homemade firearms, commonly referred to in media as "ghost guns." Johnson argues that the term "ghost guns" has been politicized to incite fear, despite homemade firearms being a long-standing part of American history. He highlights that crafting firearms at home is generally legal under federal law, though some states impose restrictions. The article clarifies that homemade guns are not undetectable nor inherently illegal, and notes the importance of understanding local laws before engaging in such activities. Johnson also emphasizes the complexities involved in manufacturing firearms, whether through traditional methods or newer technologies like 3D printing, stressing that these processes are not as simple as some media portray. The article concludes by challenging the misleading nature of the term "ghost guns" and advocating for better-informed discussions on the subject.

Something I just realized about Luigi Mangione being accused of the Thompson shooting
The NYPD is claiming they found a 3d Printed gun on Mangione
That implies that Luigi Mangione didnt have a gun registered to himself so the police had to invent evidence
Also Ive been seeing his life all over the news and there is no mention of this guy being into 3d Printing which would be a damning piece of evidence right?

I’m not their 41%. They’ve been carving us up for over a 150 years—caged Jeanne Bonnet in the 1880s and others like her, Nazis trashed the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft in ’33 burning every scrap of our history they could find, The ’50s had cops and shrinks locking us up, calling us sick—shock treatments and all. Stonewall ’69? Trans sisters like Sylvia Rivera took bricks to the face but kept swinging and they have the nerve to remove us from the memorial. Now with 687 bills in 2025, 17 already passing, thats 70–100 anti-trans bills passing by the end of the year. They want us to kill ourselves—This is their genocide.
My heart’s shredded, but I’m not folding. They want us gone—fuck that. take up arms, we get revenge, blood and fury. no life is better then a false life.

FBI says it seized biggest cache of explosives in its history from Virginia Farm
youtube
Dude is *only* charged with illegal possession of an "unregistered short barrel rifle (SBR)" -- which appears to be referring to a legal and unregulated 37mm boat flare launcher that you'd in fact be required by law to have on a boat!!!
"pipe bombs" are bullshit: those are signaling cartridges for the boat flare launcher.
"suicide vest" is 🤣 pouches for the flare cartridges!
The dude appears to be enthusiastic and a bit of a home gunsmithing hobbyist. That is okay and is permitted and protected by the 2nd fucking Amendment to our US Constitution, damnit!!!!
If the FBI was describing an antique flintlock rifle from the revolutionary war right now, they'd say scary-but-completely-bullshit things like, "large caliber sniper rifle" and "dangerous handmade firearm with no serial number" and call the powder horn "a large amount of black powder explosives designed to be concealed and carried on the person"

It's still in 2 halves while I rework the firing mechanism but ouughhhhh I'm glad the printing is over and I can finally throw paint at it. Gunmetal spray looked a lil light a first but the distressing step made a huge difference.

I know this is Tumblr and the average user here does not even own a gun, but it is insane how many of y'all do not know 3D printed guns exist.
They have existed for over a decade. You can download a gun right now. You need to buy a few inexpensive metal parts but 90% of the gun can be 3D printed and it will be fully functional if you follow the instructions.
Originally I just reblogged something to correct one person but then I saw 7 other people on different posts also acting like a 3D printed gun was impossible or far fetched.
Tbf making a gun for under $100 has always been possible and pretty easy, even without a 3D printer. I have no idea why any of y'all are surprised. . .

Operational Security is extremely important to protect your digital privacy
Encryption, passwords, multiple burner devices, a VPN that make tracking your IP address more difficult, for example
I don't think Luigi Mangione shot anyone, but because he used social media like Good reads, Facebook, Reddit, untrustworthy Internet service providers, etc those social media websites either handed over his information freely or he was finked on by people who knew his online identity
Obviously I'm not advocating for terrorism, anarchy, sabatuers, or wha eva. I just don't want my tax dollars to be wasted because you got yourself locked up doing something stupid
This should seem obvious, but don't trust no body police have gone undercover in order to trick protesters into breaking the law
I bet you've never even heard about Ruby Ridge

Does anyone else my age feel like they’re living in a sci-fi movie or am I the only person that grew up in the 2010s who thinks we’re way too cool with the fact that 3D printers & VR headsets & AI tech are a thing now
