There's this really cool thing that a handful of diaspora Palestinians have committed a lot of time and effort to called vetting (maybe you've heard of it?) in which they speak directly with a fundraiser holder face-to-face or over phone/video call to verify all portions of a fundraiser. There are so many posts [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] that talk about the details of this process to verify that a fundraiser organizer, recipient, and the details are correct by verifying legal documents like proof of residence, photo ID, fluency in Palestinian-Dialect Arabic, family tree constructions, etc.

These vetters have been posting about Palestinian/Gaza/Arab culture/Islam/etc. for a really long time, [1] [2] [3] (these are Wayback machine links to the tumblr accounts of 90-ghost, el-shab-hussein, & nabulsi before you start crying "but, you can post backdate on tumblr!") [4] (moayesh's Instagram because his tumblr is fairly new) meaning that they didn't just pop up after Oct 2023 to start posing as a qualified individual. They are real diaspora Palestinians with stories to tell and culture to share.

GFM also has strict requirements for withdrawing money, needing evidence of a bank account from a country they service and a solid way to transfer funds from that bank account to the recipient's bank account. If the funds are withheld from the intended recipient, that can be reported to and resolved by GFM.

If you're too overwhelmed by trying to distinguish between scams and real fundraisers, then whatever. That's your problem, not everyone else's. You don't need to publicly announce to everyone that you're too busy/tired/incompetent/ignorant to properly investigate fundraisers, so everyone else should stop supporting them as well. There are plenty of vetters and scam-busting blogs dedicated to helping people distinguish between real and fake.

Donating to established nonprofit aid organizations is absolutely a good deed and is much more straightforward, but it's not the only way to help. Especially with the repeated aid blockages, sometimes Ghazan families need a more direct flow of money to pay for the ridiculously inflated cost necessities (I recently received a video from Farah wherein she states that a bottle of dish soap cost $50. $50!!!!) as well as save up for evacuation costs once the Egyptian border crossing opens. (Thousands of dollars!)

On Aug 30, we helped pay off yet another month of rent so they wouldn't get evicted!

Donations are sparse and amount to around $100 USD daily. At this rate, the Haboub family will not be able to evacuate.

TAILS GIJINKA BREAKDOWN!

FINALLY!! i put together some tails gijinka/humanized stuff LOL!! see below for some goodies and an in depth (kind of indulgent) breakdown!!

[for the third image: sonic gijinka design belongs to @noka-exe !! i havent really come up with my own but i like theirs :-) ]

thisss gijinka is packed with headcanons LOL.. beware!! for starters...hes just a little guy!! i took visual inspo from markl (howls moving castle) and simon (gurrenn lagann)!! mostly simon bc i find a lot of similarities between him and tails.. short and unassuming shy boys who are also compassionate and brave!! (isn't it also awesome how simon and tails both have an older brother figure who encourages them to be brave.. 💥💥🤯 and they both have some sort of space opera and id go on but thats spoilers!!) i also went with a prosthetic leg to kind of represent his tail!! i think it could parallel to how tails' tails can act like a mobility aid, and he'd get the opportunity to tinker and repair them too!! it could also possibly correlate to how tails makes something he was picked on and bullied for, his tails, and uses it to his advantage! and again tying in his interest for mechanics and being able to customize and repair it is a concept that i find neat!! (maybe some inspo from fullmetal alchemist.. bahahaha..)

speaking of customization. i also love the idea of him covering them with stickers!! i've already added tails' own emblem on there but this has prompted me to look into adding some more!

(sorry that im singling you out again @tornado1992 LMAO i just loved your input!!) but i also love the hc that tails gets hand me downs from sonic!! for instance his gloves.. ik theyre not directly from sonic but it is such a sweet detail that tails has a rubber band around those oversized gloves to mimic sonic! and tails definitely has the means to make his own fitted gloves yet he still has those bands on in his modern models!! auhgh!! so yes.. lets say the hoodie is so oversized and oozing with swag cause it originally belonged to sonic! :-) maybe tails likes it so much that he designs the cyclone after it!! just some ideas... more depth into his clothes: i drew a lot of inspo from already existing tails-related designs!! the main outfit i draw him in is a large short-sleeve hoodie with some elements pulled from the cyclone and tails' racesuit design from sonic speed simulator! he also has his goggles and shoes from sonic riders, with some slight details added on!! see below for a better look at the outfit LOL

(the pins on his crossbody bag are a fly-type emblem, a mint, and a red star ring! theres also a sonic keychain that i keep forgetting to add/switch out with the fly type emblem LOL)

yes i did make a classic design for him!! his younger hair is more of that nice vintage orange-yellow but as he gets older itll turn amber then maybe gold? i was also thinking he dons some red clothing to reflect his admiration for sonic but later starts implementing his own style with some grays and blues!!

i'll also point out that i lean into more of a space-pilot design instead of the usual aviator pilot!! tbf i was raised on sonic x season 3 which is just a huge space opera.. 😅😅 but i still do love the aviator pilot concept!!

Making another commissions post since things have been getting worse as the month goes on. For those who are just coming across this, my name is Link and I'm a 22 y/o homeless artist. My family and I (father and younger sibling) have been in this situation for about three years now since November 2021 and I've been doing commissions to support us until something changes. We don't have anywhere to go or anyone to really turn to financially or housing wise, so we've been on our own since then. My father has managed to get his ID but with no transportation and jobs being too far out, it's made job hunting more difficult and we've yet to find anything.

This month has been one of the toughest with us owing 100$+ due to not being able to pay the daily rent. We do get extensions here but they're hard to keep up with when they double so quickly and work is becoming more hard to come by, and bumping posts on my other socials hasn't done much for us. Sadly, tonight isn't any different. We owe 190$ for tonight and for the last three days, we've been unable to get anything for it. If we can't pay tonight then we will be forced to leave, and I'm not sure what we'll do if we can't cover it.

B's Bowlarama Renovation

Here is a renovation of the B's Bowlarama in University. I'm currently thinking about renovating the whole world because i absolutely ADORE AND LOVE the sims 3 university expansion pack. backstory: He’s born and raised Russian. He has always had a passion for outer space and a weird obsession with people.

When he reached university he studied to become an astronomer, eventually getting into Pony Express to have a first-hand experience as an intern, and complete his thesis to finally graduate. pre-crash he was a researcher intern, post-crash he was killed by Jimmy in one of his delusions in the warehouse, thrown off the platform.

so that’s just a bit of him for context!! i’d love to see him drawn with Jimmy and Curly as if it was a picture taken by someone, it’d be interesting to see their body language with each other based on the info i gave you through DM hehe <3 or maybe how he looks dead after Jimmy threw him off? omg!

the day you met him was the day butterflies suddenly erupted inside your stomach. his brown golden hair that smelt like vanilla and coffee stung your nose in a good way, and his charming eyes that you could stare into forever, you wouldn't mind getting lost in it if it meant you could better understand him better, eyes are the windows of the soul after all.

ah damn it, he's too gorgeous. there's no way id ever get his atten- "hey!" you lifted your pen up from your notebook that you were just writing in to a familiar voice. you shifted your gaze to the person infront of you to see gale galleon. "o-oh! uuh.. sorry i was uh.. writing ssssomething.. can i help you..?" you stuttered out, making a fool out of yourself. "sorry.. can i uhh borrow a pen?" he nervously laughed. ahh he looked so cute blushing and avoiding your gaze, you didn't notice it unfortunately since you were also avoiding his gaze. you nodded and gave him the pen you were holding. he turns his back to his table to write something, while he was doing that, you could practically feel the hot blush on your face. it felt like your face was about to erupt like a volcano because of how flushed you were! so cute. you had all these thoughts in your head but before you could realize, he turns back to you and slides a piece of folded piece of paper along with your pen on your desk. he gulpd silently and turns back around.

you tilt your head in confusion and open the folded paper and what you saw was something you never could have expected. there on the lined paper, with messy but charming handwriting said "you're really cool, wanna hang out? -gale :)" and two drawn in boxes that said yes or no. you blinked a second time to really process if this is happening. without a thought you drew in a checklist in the yes box and folded it back together. you tap gale's shoulder and handed him the paper. he turns back to open the table and you swore you heard him do a little victory "yes...!" celebration after opening it. he once again turns back to you and says "soooo...movies? weekend?" "aye aye, captain".

"you always had that stupid eyepatch on everyday at school, people called you a pirate and some of the juniors even called you captain galleon!" months later, you were in your shared house with gale, you sat on the couch with his head on your shoulder. firepit crackling accompanied with the cold night air breeze and that post rain smell, what was it called.. ah yes, petrichor.

"you think my eyepatch was stupid?" he looked up at you and pouted with those big sad puppy eyes, "of course not, you goober. you looked edgy" "damn right i looked edgy" he said proudly then laughing along with you. "i never thought this would happen you know.." you sighed as you looked deep into his alluring eyes, his breathing calmed you... he sat up straight and kissed your forehead before saying "..me neither" and giggling like a child, shortly after he pulled you into a big bear hug where your head layed on his chest and there you fell asleep. he stroked your hair and had his chin rested on top of your head, shushing you to sleep coupled with whispering sweet nothings. just before you fully fell asleep though, you slurred out something while you were half awake, "i love..you gale... i always...will.." he smiles warmly and kisses your head, "i will always love you too, silly." and continued stroking your hair until you drifted off to dreamland.
