Hi, hello, just came here to say that I love your fic "trending in Japan". I was wondering if you had headcanons regarding Kenji or Emi or interpersonal relationships and stuff. Many hugs for you.
hi hello, thank you for the encouragement and hugs! After some thought ive realized I do in fact have some hcs about some of the character dynamics in the movie as well as just kenji himself, cause hes captivated my entire brain:
Kenji & Emi
Emi does not have teeth but she does inexplicably have a teething phase. kenji is forced to hide all his (salvaged) fancy cars in the garage bc the corvette's already been chewed to hell and his heart is gonna give out if he has to watch any more classics get wrecked
he reads her bedtime stories. A lot of aesop's fables, because theyre short and fun and hes trying to raise his monster daughter with good morals. emi goes hogwild for these but its unclear if she actually understands what hes saying; kenji's pretty sure she just likes the silly voices he uses for different characters
they go flying together! they go first thing in the morning before breakfast - it helps kenji shake off the grogginess of sleep and emi gets to stretch her wings. shes not able to go very far for very long initially, but as she grows and gets those cardio gainz she almost gets to be quicker than him. they have races and play air tag :)
while she doesnt have the vocal range to speak english herself, it becomes clear that emi does understand it well. (kenji also develops an ear for her chirping/squawks, though body language & facial expressions play a big part in communication for both of them) during her (much later) rebellious phase she'll simply pretend not to know what's being said when kenji is telling her to do something she doesn't wanna do, which frustrates him to no end
Kenji
developed a pretty massive chip on his shoulder after moving to the states. it wasn't just bitterness over his dad staying behind, though that was a part of it. this is canon but he was picked on in school for "how [he talked], how [he looked] and what [he ate]." he felt like he had something to prove to both his father and the world. he threw himself into sports - specifically baseball - and his academics, and he did so well that it forced everyone to shut up about how he was different from them and focus on how he was better than them
^ playing off this: kenji had a bonkers fucking yonkers routine when he was a kid/in highschool. he'd get up hours before school started to practice his swing, go for a ~1hr run, workout, study, etc. He'd go to school, come home, and do it all again. this is exaggerated but my point is that this kid was DETERMINED and had the discipline to see that determination through to the end
didnt have many friends because of all aforementioned things. he had acquaintances, and he was invited to parties and outings and stuff (never went), but he spent most of his free time hanging out with his mom. he never really had a "parents are so embarrassing" phase. he always liked to do anything with his mother: going to the bank, going grocery shopping, watching cheesy telenovelas till ungodly hours in the morning, etc. she was his no.1 supporter, confidant, and best friend
he played for his university's baseball team and got scouted at 19. his mom forced him to finish his bachelor's first so once he graduated with his degree in kinesiology at 21, he was drafted to the dodgers
Kenji & Ami
both of them, up until meeting each other, were totally dedicated to their career (and child) so they had basically 0 time for friends. theyre both borderline losers but theyre juuust good enough at what they do for people to admire them instead of finding them sad and lowkey pathetic
kenji is way more into the idea of being friends than ami is. hes pretty enthusiastic about it; he thinks that they have a kind of rapport, since they share a similar work ethic and are both (unbeknownst to ami) single parents. he calls her to chat abt random things. ami initially isnt superrrr into it; she thinks kenji is kinda lonely and desperate for human connection, & it isnt until her mom points out that she has not spoken to anyone outside of work-related reasons in 10+ years that shes like oh shit, i am also lonely and desperate for human connection. so she grudgingly acquires a friend. theyre both really bad at it
need to clarify that in my mind their dynamic is 95% kenji yapping about work and drama in his personal life (circumventing the 8m baby kaiju hes raising) while ami goes "mhm mhm" and takes notes until kenji notices and is like What are you doing. at which point ami is like...... right . nothing. im listening. and forces herself to put the notepad away. she has a hard time disengaging from the reporter mindset and just hearing something intriguing without turning it into an article. the other 5% are the rare moments where theyre connecting super well - ami's psychoanalyzing the hell out of whatever kenji just said and hes like what are you my therapist. over time she starts opening up to him, too, and eventually theyre comfortable enough to be having philosophical discussions over breakfast just for funsies
before kenji reveals that hes ultraman, ami thinks hes in a gang. he keeps showing up to their lunch "dates" with like bruised eyes and fractured bones and gets all shifty when she tries to ask about what happened. when she eventually confronts him about it, hes so offended that she thinks hed be involved in something like that that he tells her about being ultraman
thats about all i can think of rn, though im sure ill think of more after rotating all the characters in my head for a while. thanks again for stopping in, i appreciate the support :)

my guide on exiting your hot mess era and entering your hot girl era this summer ♡
𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑠𝑒𝑡
♡ First something that is really important for you to be able to leve up this summer and focus on you is to protect your energy and your peace. Instead of scrolling through your phone for ours, staying up late, negative self-talk, procrastinating and giving toxic people your time (I've also done this dw 😭), do things that help your mindset and self worth like going on a solo date, reading, having a self care day, meditating, working out/going to the gym, hanging out with people that actually care about you and have your best interests at heart, bake, etc.
♡ Remember your thoughts are not true! Whenever you feel overwhelemed by negative thoughts, stop and think is this thought actually true? Is it serving you? And what is speaking against it? For every negative thought there are at least 10 things that can prove it wrong, so to detach from those thoughts chanel your inner fan and focus on more positive thoughts to take care of your mental health!!
𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝚑𝑖𝑔𝚑𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓
♡ Something that has helped me lately is opening my journal and creating the highest version of myself that I want to become. To create her I wrote down the following (You can also do this on your phone notes app, computer, etc. it just helps me more writing it down on paper):
How does she look like?
What are her habits?
What's her daily routine?
What's her fashion style?
Who does she surround herself with?
What are her boundaries?
Where is her focus?
What does her social profile look like?
What successes does she have?
What does she consume on social media?
Who are her icons?
What does she do on her free time?
What does she do when she's doubting herself?
What does she do when she has no motivation?
What does she do when she's meeting new people?
What does she do when she's in an argument?
What does she do when she has no confidence?
♡ After having done this, visualize you living out your dream life and become her! Feel the emotions as if it where happening to you right now.
𝑏𝑜𝑑𝑦
♡ For me a summer body isn't necessarily about looking your "best" but more about feeling your best! This means focus more on health rather than on physical aesthetic. Sometimes having a smaller waist or a bigger thigh gap doesn't mean she's feeling better than you. So in order to achieve your summer body here are a few tips on habits to incorporate:
1hr walk daily or 10k steps
Running routine outdoors or on the treadmill
Pilates or HIIT workouts
Yoga
Meditation
Everything shower
Fresh fruit
Big breakfast
Juice/smoothies
Hydration
Limit processed foods

I'm actively trying to gain weight and forget my previous active lifestyle. Was there a point where your gains dramatically increased or has it always been steady. I'm reading a lot about metabolic rate change helping? You look stunning in my eyes by the way!
I probably gained about 200lbs after high-school. I graduated at a little over 400. But u like you, I struggled to keep weight off. My coaches kept me pretty active all through school. Weight lifting before school. 1hr of gym all 4 years and I was in 3 sports a year. I are a ton. But always kept myself super active. So I got fat. Just not super fat... if you can call 400 not super fat lol. Believe it or not I was actually very in shape for my size.
Anyways. After school I kept my eating habits but wasn't burning fat without the mandatory workouts. And in like a year or 2 I had popped up to around 600.
I'm not really any good at telling you how to gain. I'm not seeking to be my size I just have a very hedonistic lifestyle. I enjoy what I eat. I'm not sucking down anything to intentionally gain. I just love food. And I love being lazy. Plus my body has 0 metabolism. It's how it goes.

a lie I’ve been telling myself while on vacation is that despite the work I left behind I’m simply going to have to wait to get home… instead there’s always something productive I can do to help my future self: today I read a book, I had it on my list for a while and it’s part of my academic readings, so I read it all at once. I’m glad I did that because it’s a small step towards finishing all my academics :)

My Weight Loss & Fitness Strategy:
Just like 2 years ago, I'm going to keep it simple.
Fitness:
Straight cardio no chaser. Not going to focus on strength building or weights at the moment. I'm going to be doing aerobic walking (via my Walk At Home subscription) and I will be doing an average of 3 miles every day (sometimes it may be less, like 2 miles, other times it will be more, like 5 miles. But every day minus rest day I will be doing anywhere from 30 min - 1hr of exercise). I'll also be adding in some 10 minute "warm ups/light walks" throughout the day, not so much as additional exercise but just so that my body can get some movement after it's been sitting in one place for hours.
I also know that I need to incorporate stretching and flexibility workouts into my plan as well. I always do a quick stretch at the end of my workouts but I definitely need to fit in some longer ones as well.
Eating/Diet:
This is where it may get questionable for some people, so let me state my disclaimer again: i'm not encouraging nor recommending anyone to do what i'm about to do. this is simply what worked for me.
So as far as eating goes, I will mostly be eating salads with an iceberg lettuce base with vegetables and protein toppings. I will of course still have some indulgences (I actually think it's important that you do, restrictive dieting is one way to regain your weight back quickly once the diet is over) but for the most part I will be eating salads and having certain veggies and fruits.
If this list seems rather small (especially compared to 2 years ago when i was also having oatmeal, green smoothies, etc. ) it's because I have now been diagnosed with SIBO, candida and chronic constipation (with is closely related to IBS). although I'm not going to focus on healing my digestive issues at this time, I also don't want to eat foods that are going to trigger them or make them worst.
I'm currently researching and looking more into this so my diet will most likely be altered along the way.
And that's all folks. I'll be posting daily updates with pics of my food (sometimes). This blog may get a bit fitblr-y for a while lol.

sick of complaining about shit and not doing anything to fix it, so here is what i am going to do and ACTUALLY stick to in order to lose the weight (in the next 2 weeks), bc if i eat like a piggy then ill look like a piggy!:
- 500 cals max. if over, then i subtract it from the next day
- if i binge, purge it. but still subtract half the cals i binged for the next day
- a 24h+ hour fast per week (think i will go for sundays!)
- 9k steps minimum per day
- one workout per day obvs preferably more but doesn’t matter too much to me tbh
- study for at least 1hr/day, preferably more <3 bc hot girls are skinny AND smart

start/warm up:

⌗ 3 reps 50 jumping jacks
⌗ 3 reps 2x 15 side lunges
⌗ 3 reps 2x front lunges
⌗ 3 reps 25 high knee jacks
⌗ 3 reps 30sec wall sitting
down:
⌗ 4 reps 50 bicycle crunches
⌗ 4 reps 30 russian twists
⌗ 3 reps 50 scissor cross
⌗ 3 reps 2x 15 leg pull in
⌗ 3 reps 2x 15 elbow to knee

Hi!! I'm Nana, I'm an enby (f presenting) highschool student/ballet dancer, I love kpop and working out (I hear Chloe ting cheering my fat ass up during workouts in my dreams LMAO)
Got my ana/ortho ass reported at the end of 2023 and I'm back on my weight loss journey cause those 20 pounds aren't gonna disappear by themselves!!
My interests!!
Kpop!! I'm a big multistan lmao I love so many groups and soloists, Korean and global!!
I LOVE BAKING AND COOKING FOR OTHERS!! Making other people happy AND getting rid of junk food around my house?? COUNT ME IN!!
Ballet is basically what my life is rotating around rn other than my crippling ed XD, I've been doing it since I was 3 and other than motivating my glow up, it literally distracts my goofy brain from thinking about food and eating
Working out: I love love love working out!! Burns calories and gives me a good mood boost 💕
My fav safe foods ⭐
(to clarify, I also eat other stuff but this is what I can eat in normal amounts without feeling bad about myself)
EVERYONE HAS DIFF SAFE FOODS, this is just my list!!
Sunflower seeds!! Ironically I hate oil but seeds are my fave lol
Black coffee w sweetener (yes I'm a pu$sy that can't drink straight unsweetened black coffee 💀)
Frozen grapes!! (They might be straight up sugar balls but at least they have fiber and water)
Sf chewing gum!! I don't think I need to explain it
Rice/Corn cakes ( I found some that were 6CALS EACH at a supermarket!)
Fruits and veggies in general but with some criteria: Small, fresh (no freeze dried stuff or whatever), Cooked w no oil/the least oil possible (for veggies)
Chicken breast deli slices (it's literally 63kcals per serving!!)
Unsalted air popped popcorn is the GOAT!!
STATS
(Not exactly sure about them, my scale got tampered with)
Hw: ~45kg (after a meal)
Cw: ~40kg
Gw: 39kg
Gw 2: 38kg
Gw 3: 37kg
Ugw: 36kg (THAT WAS MY LAST YEAR'S BEST!!)
Uugw: 35kg 💕💕
Workout regiment
~2hrs of various yt workouts!! 2x/day (Gainsbybrains,Pamela reif,Chloe Ting, Emi Wong and Eylem Abaci,kpop workouts or whatnot)
min 6k steps a day on weekdays, 8k min on weekends (I don't give myself a maximum,the more the merrier, I usually use a treadmill at 6-7km/hr)
HIIT full body training/tabata 2-3 times/week for 30min-1hr
I mainly train core,abs and full body (cause I do ballet already)
I SUPPORT RECOVERY, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BE IN MY SAME SITUATION!! For those who are in my same place, I honestly hope you succeed at whatever you want to do!!

aaah ofc ofc i love this sm especially since i used to be an avid workout hater and now my old skz show outfit shorts don’t fit my ass anymore 🤭 safe to say i started to love it LMAO! well first of all i started out with my leo friend who’s this gorgeous capable all-knowing gym rat and she taught me everything i know like if it hadn’t been for her i would neverrrrr have chosen gym as my physical activity of choice 🥲 so before i share what i do now i would say definitely start out with either a friend who knows what they’re doing or a trainer or (and this would be my own personal worst nightmare but whichever works for you!) group trainings bc it is soooo important to learn how to use everything so you don’t get hurt. safety first ass last! now as for me i go to the gym 3x a week and split my workouts into upper (1x/week) and lower body (2x/week). my workouts are usually around 1hr and i first warm up by running for 10 mins and then do 10 squats just for fun and bc i love squats. then i alwayssss do a core exercise first (usually 3x1min plank bc i love planks but i’ll do whatever i feel like that day). for upper body i mostly do back exercises (i Love rowing either cable or barbell, assisted pull-ups, pull-downs & i hate fuckass deadlifts but they’re so good -___-) and for lower body it’s alllll about ass to me forever (one legged romanian deadlifts, sumo squats and curtsey lunges are my absolute faves but i do love a hip thrust and even a leg press 🤭). i will do 5 exercises 3x10 reps and then stretch half assedly for like 3 mins and then im doneeee :) on the days i don’t go to the gym i usually either go on a walk or do a move with nicole vid at home and i LOVEEEE this woman so much im currently doing one of her monthly workout series and she’s out of her mind in the best way and a great way to start out bc she explains the form and does things really well. ALLL this yapping to say i really really highly suggest you go and do something guided at first (personal trainer might sound excessive but it’s theee best way to really get into going on your own!) and they can help you build a routine that focuses on your specific goals! and GOOD LUCK you’re going to love it just go at your own pace and do what feels good <333 and please do lmk your progress i am both invested and cheering for you 🫶🏻
