Realizing You Can Change, Right This Second
I had this moment on January 1st, 2025 -- a flash of clarity so strong it knocked me off autopilot.
I realized: nothing is holding me back from changing immediately. All the things I thought defined me? They’re not permanent.
Tumblr media
Just because something has been true in the past doesn’t mean it has to keep being true now.
Just because I spent hours glued to my phone doesn’t mean I have to keep that habit. 📱❌
Just because I struggled with an ED doesn’t mean I can’t choose a healthier relationship with food today. 🥗
Just because I was inconsistent with exercise doesn’t mean I can’t become someone who works out regularly now. 🏋️‍♀️
Just because I lived on Tumblr and Reddit doesn’t mean I can’t use my time more intentionally. ⏳💻
Just because I neglected self-care doesn’t mean I can’t prioritize it starting now. 🛁🧼💖
Just because sugar was my main comfort doesn’t mean I have to let it control me anymore. 🍬🚫
Just because I let bad eating derail my exercise plans doesn’t mean I can’t separate the two now. 🍔⚡🏃‍♀️
Just because I haven’t created my dream body before doesn’t mean I can’t start today. 🌟👙
Just because I didn’t turn to creative outlets like watercolors or lettering doesn’t mean I can’t try them as coping mechanisms now. 🎨✍️✨
Just because I used to obsess over weight doesn’t mean I have to think that way anymore. ❤️🧠
The past is not a life sentence. Every second is an opportunity to change the script.
The question isn’t “Why haven’t I done this before?” It’s “What’s stopping me from doing it right now?” Spoiler: nothing.

sooooo that girl content? 👀
What do you think is the ‘checklist’ to be one?
Waking up at 6 AM or earlier every morning no matter what, and going to bed earlier as a result
Daily Bible and prayer time for at least 30 minutes, preferably longer. And intentionally pray multiple times a day
Self-discipline
Consistency
Routine and habits
Delayed gratification
Daily exercise
Highly limit social media- assess where it adds actual value to your life and cut everything else out ruthelessly
Asking who you want to be. Then seeing what steps you need to take to get there. Then do it.
Blocking out distractions
Saying no to people
Have a clean space
Drink water and eat healthy foods
Only have friends who bring actual value to your life. You don’t need thirty friends. A handful of ride-or-dies is all you need
Having a simple effective beauty routine. Rather than jumping on beauty trends or obsessing over your appearence, figure out how to enhance your natural beauty and stick with it. Genuinely teach yourself to love the way you look and be confident in it without becoming vain.
Treating yourself with the value and respect that God sees in you
Having beauty (inner and outer) and intelligence be your default setting
Keep your cards close to your chest, only share required information with people you trust
Always be learning. If you’re in school, achieve academic excellence. If you’re not, still be learning things each day and filling your mind with knowledge. Read books and articles, and listen to podcasts and watch informative movies and videos
People will always be smarter than you and wiser than you. Surround yourself with those people and ask them to teach you
Intentionally look for the beauty in everything and be thankful for it
You can always grow and improve more in every area
Set yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals and break down the steps to achieve them and follow through. Focus on the proccess
Devote yourself to the things you love
Focus on the mindset > the aesthetic
Stop consuming self-improvement content and actually doing the hard work that self-improvement requires
Don’t tie yourself to anyone’s opinions but God and people who also follow His will
Work on your dreams. Actually work on them, don't just dream about them. If it seems impossible, do whatever you have to do to make it achievable
Kick laziness and procrastination out the window
Intentionally set aside time to rest and make sure that the time you rest is actually restful and fills you up. And when you’re not resting, you’re working.
Make a list of your priorities, in order. The ones at the top are what you spend the most time on, and things that aren't on the list don't deserve your attention
Hold yourself accountable for what you do every day. Celebrate your wins, and acknowledge your losses. What do you fail at, figure out why, and then take the steps to make sure that it won't happen again
Take care of your outer physical body and your mental health
Quit the excuses. There is a difference between having an actual legitimate reason for not doing something and just trying to beg off how you've failed yourself.
Develop a good work ethic
Do not shy away from hard conversations that make you uncomfortable and force you to change the way you think
Do small acts of beauty and self-care each day that only take a few minutes, but make you feel good and excite you
Forgive yourself for your past mistakes and failures but don't let it happen again
Be kind and humble and loving to everyone. But people who haven't proven themselves to you haven't earned anything from you
Motivation is wonderful. Find it, use it, harness it. But it isn't constant. Be able to work just as much with it as you can without it
Praise God for the work He has done in you and the prayers He has answered. What you have right now? That just used to be a pleading cry for help. Thank Him for it, it came from Him and not you, and make sure everyone else knows it.
Develop speech and debate skills
Develop a workout routine that covers all the bases and that you genuinely enjoy doing. The goal of working out should not be to punish yourself or your body, but to love to move your body and get physically stronger and more capable.
No screens for the first or last hour of the day
And finally, submit everything that you do to the Lord and ensure that it is His will. And if you are ever unsure if He wants you to take a course of action or not, just step out in faith and see what happens.
I know that this list sounds exhausting and utterly impossible. But it isn't. It has taken me three years from the time I decided to start caring about myself in this way and becoming a hard-working disciplined 'Christian That Girl' to today, but I am here. Every single thing on this list I actively do, I'm not just listing it to sound better than I am. I'm not perfect at it and I mess up sometimes. But I do intentionally do each and every one of these things. And guess what? I started seeing results from the immediate things after days. And a lot of these longer term things are only a few months of hard work away.
At the end of the day, if you don't have something you want that you could've had, that's because you chose comfort in the moment over success in the future. Of course, life and tragedy happens, but for way more things than you realize, YOU are in control of your life and everything that you do has consequences. It is up to you to decide if they will be positive or negative. Don't look back kicking yourself saying 'I wish I had spent my time doing that.' Instead, look back and say, 'Praise God I spent my time doing that.'

First quarter of 2025! Sowing good habits till March ends ♥
We're doing well so far, I have experienced a lot of mindset shift in the past 1.5months when I was offline.
We've started with our morning rituals, but I slowly want to push myself to wake up at 4 in the morning sometime around the mid of February because I'll be on a short trip for 3-4 days.
For now-
I've progressed with my scalp massages, I can see so many short strands of new hair kinda made me emotional (though Im blessed with thick black hair but Im trying to grow my hair longer)
Im waking up earlier, at 6:30am. I stretch, lay with my head hanging upside down from the edge of the bed for blood circulation in my head, massage my scalp, have tea etcetera and read the news and listen to affirmations <3
I no longer feel the need to motivate myself, I just feel excited when I look at what needs to be done for the day. Although I procrastinate a lot on some days, we'll fix that too.

The Problem Isn't You; It's Your Sleep
Why is sleep so essential?
The problem when you feel unmotivated or tired mid day is caused by your sleeping habits. Sleeping adequate and good quality sleep is pivotal to achieving a good glow up or keeping consistent with your winter arc. With my new sleeping routine, I feel refreshed, energized, and positive.
Changes in Your Routine
Clearing your schedule after 9 pm - everything after 9 pm is closed off; you are finished and you are reflecting on your day. Use 30 minutes of your time to journal, unwind, call a friend but do not do work. This is the time to shut your brain off and not worry about tomorrow. It may be hard but dump everything into a journal or something. It is time to tire your brain out. Minimizing light - other than minimizing your surroundings and thoughts, the amount of light in your room can really ruin your sleep quality. I tend to darken up the room and put on curtains or objects to stop light from getting in my room until the morning. Regulating how much light you get is essential to your mental health. Our bodies need light during the day and during the night need to rest. In general, I do NOT use the big light during the night because it makes me feel more awake when it is my time to sleep. Lowering the temperature - having a lower temperature than the rest of the house is pivotal for sleep. We tend to sleep better in colder temperatures so purchase that fan or lower that thermometer and get some blankets. You'll thank me later. Keeping Consistent - you need a consistent sleep schedule meaning you have to sleep at this time frame and wake up during this time frame. Do not be too rigid at first and you'll start to see a development. For example I sleep around 9:43-10:30 and wake up around 4:30-5:00. It isn't that rigid with helps with my mind.
Good luck sleeping and feeling energized in the morning because this is your reminder that you deserve better. You can change your life and make it more sweet than bitter. Treat yourself and push yourself at the same time. Life is like that.

At some point in your life, you just have to realize that your laziness, your lack of goals and ambition, your unhealthy coping mechanisms, the books you're not reading, the people you're not meeting, the healthy food you won't even touch, the effort you won't put in.... it's called disrespecting yourself. Don't know about you, but I'm done with it.

11/19/24
So apparently now it is super cool to trash "almond people" for.... discipline and consistency.
I tell you what, if there is ever anything that you want to do, there are a plethora of people who will give you shit for it.
Do your thing anyway!
You want to run a turkey trot for Thanksgiving? Do it! Workout before vacation? Do it. Pack snacks? Yaaaassss. Bring a water, yaaasssss queen, stay hydrated!
Who cares? It is your life, you gotta live how you wanna live baby
You know what I won't be doing this year? Backsliding into old shitty habits because some fuckwad on the tikky tok decided it was cool to roast consistency. I am going to continue feeling good, so that when life happens, I will be ready to rock whatever needs to be rocked.
I will be getting my sleep. I will be hydrated. I will do my turkey trot and fucking enjoy the time with my family, dammit. I deserve that.

And fuck everyone who makes me feel bad about shit.
130 pounds down babe
Let's make it 140!

workout routine?
Hello! I don't have the privilege to go to a gym right now so I just do my workouts at home. I'll be giving you my plan and links to the videos as well. Also please make sure to stretch and warm up before your exercise!
Day one:
Lower body: I have two days dedicated to lower body, I'm working on my glutes especially right now. Most of the exercises I do are weighed but if you don't have any that's totally fine, you can use water bottles instead.
Step ups (3 sets of 20 reps each leg).
Hip thrusts (3 sets of 20 reps, adding a 5 kg dumbbell).
Hip thrust then hold until failure.
Hip thrust pulses (3 sets of 20, with the dumbbell).
RDL (3 sets of 10 each leg).
Sumo squats with pulses (3 sets of 15 reps, and the dumbbell).
Dumbbell clamshells (3 sets of 20 each leg).
Day two:
Upper Body and Core: I usually do one of the longer videos or mix 2-3 of the shorter ones.
30 minutes upper body - move with nicole.
25 minutes upper body - move with nicole.
10 minutes upper body - pamela reif.
15 minutes arms - sanne vloet.
10 minutes back - pamela reif.
10 minutes arms with dumbbells - fitbymik.
8 minutes abs - nikola's pilates.
10 minutes abs - daisy keech.
Day three:
Lower body all over again.
Day four:
Full Body: I choose one or two of these videos depending on my ability.
20 minutes full body pilates - lidia mera.
20 minutes full body pilates - madeleine abeid
30 minutes full body pilates - move with nicole.
20 minutes full body pilates - lidia mera.
40 minutes full body pilates - lidia mera.
30 minutes full body pilates - lidia mera.
Day five:
Yoga: Last day! This day is for my body to heal before resting.
Yoga detox - yoga with adriene.
Tension relief - yoga with adriene.
Healing yoga - yoga with adriene.
Full body yoga - jess yoga.
Yoga reset - jess yoga.
That's all I do! Please again make sure you stretch and warm up, eat well balanced meals and find healthy alternatives for your cravings. Love you!
