now that i think about it i’m actually so mad about midnight’s death because i get the idea of raising the stakes by having the kids lose one of their teachers but why should it have been her and not any of the others. in terms of women in the ua faculty (that we know of) it was literally just her, thirteen, and recovery girl. it could have easily been cementoss or ectoplasm or snipe instead
#not power loader though i like him too much. plus he doesn’t teach any of 1a’s classes as far as i can remember#preferably not snipe either but i could MAYBE accept it#all things considered this show isn’t The Worst Ever about its female characters but it’s also not great about it#also bc it’s aizawa central in my brain why should he have to lose his leg his eye AND one of his precious few real friends#while that bastard endeavor gets off basically scot free. huh.#anyway in my heart she’s just in a coma long enough to scare hizashi into actually talking abt his feelings abt the oboro stuff w shota#and then she’ll wake up#eva.txt#my hero academia#mha posting#edited a little bc i forgot recovery girl im so sorry queen

How utilised/underutilised do you think each member of 1A was?
There is not a single character who I think is 100% well utilized and Class A was absolutely shafted in the Final War as an ensemble. All Might usurping their "team effort" into a mecha suit was easily one of the worst decisions the manga could have made. But I can give you a quick run-down on how well I think they were used in order:
Bakugou: Plus - decent character development, some great fight utilization, lots of POV. Minus - became too Deku-centered, which weakened his team narrative.
Shoto: Plus - great own arc, great relationships, good quirk development, good character development. Minus - he needed better fight highlights, not enough POV especially on his victimhood, story waffled the ending of his major relationships
Deku: Plus - very strong start, good fights, lots of strong relationships Minus - no POV, failed theme in Act 3, author lost interest in him clearly
Iida: Plus - very consistent on the themes he represents. Minus - weak connection to main plot, total lack of good fight scenes
Kirishima: Plus - solid arc and fights scenes Minus - sidelined in act 3 and badly utilized in the final arc
Momo: Plus - well utilized until PLF War Minus - sidelined in Act 3
Jirou: Plus - nice little arc, interesting extra hobby tied into the main theme of saving, decent endgame highlight Minus - didn't get enough role in the early story
Tokoyami: Plus - great fight scenes and role, potentially interesting mentor -student relationship - Minus - next to no character work
Uraraka: she was weirdly overused and underused at the same time. A lot of bloated scenes, flip-flopping themes. I found her really irritating pretty much every arc after the sport festival.
Basically, the rest of the class was completely and utterly underused/misused. Without any particular order:
Shoji: the main face of a last-minute mutant arc that had no real build-up. The way Hori used him in the epilogue was also very dishonest
Aoyama: the traitor arc was one of the biggest disappointments of the entire manga. His endgame was mostly treated like a gag. It also highlighted the double standards when it comes to crimes committed by heroes vs crimes by villains.
Kaminari: reduced to a gag character, biggest achievement is one-time lightning rod
Sero: his ability was made redundant by Deku's blackwhip, his big highlight was a stupid speech to AFO and an unearned / unbuilt moment with Shoto.
Mina: she was used to further Kirishima's character and that's about it. Her highlight came too late and felt forced.
Hagakure: objectified the entire time.
Asui: great design and abilities wasted on being Uraraka's sidekick and then the "friendship" completely thrown out the window for Toga.
Ojirou: did he do anything?
Satou: might as well not show up...
Kouda: cool quirk that is used the worst possible way
Mineta: too much panel time for a sex offender.

i am not very much in the fandom so i was wondering what the consensus was on this. how do you (and just everyone in general who sees this) feel about killer's 'multiple personalities' i really love killer and i think he's great however i feel like that part of his character is a bit of a bad stereotype of DID (the evil alter, good alter trope). let me say this: i dont think killer's creator did it with malicious intent. im just confused on that part of his character because it's kind of vague. could you possibly explain your thoughts on it a bit more?
Well, im not a professional or expert on anything, but I’ll try to give it a go. Anyone can feel free to correct me if im misinformed and misspoke, or if yall simply disagree.
In terms of in universe, the general consensus, as I see it anyway, is that Killer is not human. Not even exactly like his soul isn’t human or monster, but that his body’s species is also not human.
Which means things like disorders and mental illnesses we have not only in real life, but as humans, does not apply to Killer.
There may be similarities, but they likely wouldn’t be one for one. Another consensus in universe is that, Killer is not said to be diagnosed with anything—he’s just living with and experiencing symptoms of similar possible disorders IRL.
He does not know what exactly is happening to him, he tries to make sense of and explain his experiences to the best of his knowledge and abilities in his own terms and languages.
And due to his own self perceptions, abuse, trauma and self hatred—he often dehumanizes and demonizes himself to others, especially himself when he’s in his other higher Stages.
It’s also long been established that Killer is canonically a character who struggles with a lot of suicidal ideation—not only has he attempted on his own, but when in Stage 1, he has been shown at least twice asking people to kill him (Swap and Color), which reads to me that he is seeking out assisted suicide. Not to mention how he has stated in Stage 1 that he has “accepted death a long time ago.”
Now, a bit more out of universe, I think Rahafwabas was not only really young at the time, but she did not know much English yet. If i recall correctly, she had other people translating her comics from Arabic to English for her.
Which means that not only could information had been lost in translation or mistranslated, it’s possible her language either didn’t have the means and words to explain what she was going for with Killer, or the English language didn’t or meant something else entirely.
In terms of actual disorders or similar irl, or if Killer had physically been a human with a brain, general consensus is that Killer would definitely be diagnosed with a dissociative disorder of some kind. In my opinion, I don’t think a professional would diagnose Killer with DID or P-DID.
I think he’d be diagnosed with either UDD (Unspecified Dissociative Disorder), or OSDD (identity disturbance due to prolonged intense coercive persuasion).
This can also be caused by captivity, thought reform, brainwashing, torture, programming, recruitment by cults/sects/terror organizations, being a POW, etc. This presentation of OSDD is also called OSDD-2.
These guys are not systems, however. There’s not actually much literature or research into this presentation of OSDD or how it effects a person from their experiences and perspectives—only brief descriptions.
Especially from those with OSDD-2 who were programmed, which is an inherently very complex topic even if OSDD-2 is not a complex dissociative disorder.
Now, an argument was made to me by a system recently for why Killer could be a system as well as have symptoms of OSDD-2, but I still believe Killer would not receive a diagnosis of DID, PDID, or OSDD1/1a/1b. Even if he does show and experience symptoms similar to them.
That being said, however, it cannot be denied that Killer already has canonically experienced the type of things listed in OSDD-2.
Intense prolonged coercion, coercion based dissociation, programming (literal reprogramming of his code in the game), torture, captivity, kidnapped/being held hostage, and labor trafficking.
He also shows signs of severe dissociative identity confusion and disturbance—not only does he seem to think he is not Sans anymore, just something that is wearing Sans’ face because Sans “would never kill Papyrus,” and that he said he “wants to be Sans again” in Stage 1 as if he isn’t already or still Sans, but rahafwabas has stated that his soul being like that is one of the reasons why his mind “split.”
It’s a war between two souls, Sans’ and the human Determination soul, but the Determination soul is stronger—even if Sans’ soul often ‘peeks’ out (via that white eyelight in Killer’s right eye socket, which is described as a sign of “the real Sans we know”) or forces itself/is triggered out.
And now he doesn’t know how he should behave, human or monster. He is basically programmed and likely conditioned to behave and think a certain way when in or triggered into a certain Stage—which means dissociation is always present on some level.
However, on the case of Killer being a system or experiencing himself as plural—as more than one in one body—even if not DID, PDID, or OSDD-1 I do think there’s a way to write and portray it without falling into an evil alter trope.
First would be to write other system or plural characters. Have a diverse range of different systems and plurals and don’t leave Killer as the only one.
Second is, understand Killer’s environment and situation.
(Putting a read more here because the rest can potentially be a little too much or potentially triggering.)
Understand it really is a form of extreme, organized abuse. That he is in a high control group.
That he is being trafficked by Nightmare. That he is being tortured, programmed, and conditioned. That he has to survive—and he and his potential headmates simply will not survive if they try to be good people.
Hell, they may even view themselves as only existing to do awful things and being incapable of anything else (or not knowing there is anything else, and that it’s something they could have or be)—kill and hurt when no one else can, kill and hurt on command, kill and hurt without guilt or remorse that would otherwise leave Killer unable to function and likely dead a long time ago.
(Abusers may even actively make the victim(s) believe and think that way, or they may heavily encourage it by either giving alters their names or forcibly renaming a singlet, giving them numbered names or simply calling them by their ‘role.’ Like..Killer, for example. Or even more degrading, insulting names they make their victims respond to and identify with.)
For them to live, to survive, others can’t—because being trafficked, kidnapped, in organized crime, in a high control group, means having to witness and do highly illegal and immoral things if they want to live or not be tortured themselves.
This is also where the manipulation stuff comes in. Abusers, handlers, traffickers—they want the victim to not speak out, they want them to not leave or think about leaving. They’ll do anything to ensure that.
From coercing or threatening a victim to do bad things or participate in bad things with the abusers, the abusers can then begin holding that over them.
Claiming the victim isn’t any better than them to ensure guilt and silence, saying they’ll be arrested or everyone would hate them for what they did to ensure fear of outsiders and dependency on the group, claiming that they know the victim must’ve liked it—that the victim is just like their abuser, or will be.
And that can cause feelings ranging from shame and feeling like they deserve what’s done to them and they don’t deserve help, to internalizing all of that and attempting to behave and think exactly how the abuser does. Either because they start genuinely believing they’re as bad if not worse, or because it’s a survival and/or coping mechanism.
Not to mention that those in these environments will likely eventually become desensitized to the violence they’re forced to perpetuate and/or witness, they could even try to force themselves to like it in an attempt to either make it easier or feel powerful and in control.
Other alters may be programmed or simply indoctrinated in cases of cults or types of belief systems and ideologies being implemented in abuse—they may genuinely believe that the ones hurting them are godlike, or that they can communicate with a higher power, or that a higher power will punish them if they try to leave. Especially if they’re children, or if they have no access to anything or anyone saying otherwise.
Some alters may believe this type of stuff is completely normal and okay, particularly when raised in it. It can be so severe that these types of alters could embrace the idea of their death at their abusers’ hands easily, without fear or struggle, because it’s normal to them.
This all can happen to a singlet in similar situations too. Singlets can start to genuinely believe they were born, created, or only exist to do certain things or for certain purposes—from a sex slave to a killer to a weapon, especially if they’re being trafficked.
It’s just a fact that many who experienced things that Killer did/does and managed to not only survive, but escape, likely did it in bloody and/or underhanded ways.
There was no good or bad, no moral or immoral, just what had to be done — traffickers and abusers and handlers will never just let their victims go, regardless of if they ask really nicely or not. It’s life or death. They chose life.
Or in Killer’s case (has likely died multiple times, juts can never seem to stay dead), potentially something one of his Stages (such as Stage 4) believes is worse than death. It could genuinely believe that if it doesn’t do what it does, something unbelievably horrible is going to happen. Something that would make it wish it were dead.

Taiwan Travelogue by Yáng Shuāng-zǐ, 楊双子
Endorsement from submitter: "Incredible writing style, incredible critique of imperialism (as in Japanese imperialism of Taiwan, in this case), and most importantly an incredibly complicated and bittersweet f/f relationship at its center. The yearning, the pining, the intimacy and the lack thereof. The way these two vibe with each other and don't understand each other at the same time. Truly a book that gently and thoroughly destroys you."
A bittersweet story of love between two women, nested in an artful exploration of language, history, and power
May 1938. The young novelist Aoyama Chizuko has sailed from her home in Nagasaki, Japan, and arrived in Taiwan. She’s been invited there by the Japanese government ruling the island, though she has no interest in their official banquets or imperialist agenda. Instead, Chizuko longs to experience real island life and to taste as much of its authentic cuisine as her famously monstrous appetite can bear.
Soon a Taiwanese woman―who is younger even than she is, and who shares the characters of her name―is hired as her interpreter and makes her dreams come true. The charming, erudite, meticulous Chizuru arranges Chizuko’s travels all over the Land of the South and also proves to be an exceptional cook. Over scenic train rides and braised pork rice, lively banter and winter melon tea, Chizuko grows infatuated with her companion and intent on drawing her closer. But something causes Chizuru to keep her distance. It’s only after a heartbreaking separation that Chizuko begins to grasp what the “something” is.
Disguised as a translation of a rediscovered text by a Japanese writer, this novel was a sensation on its first publication in Mandarin Chinese in 2020 and won Taiwan’s highest literary honor, the Golden Tripod Award. Taiwan Travelogue unburies lost colonial histories and deftly reveals how power dynamics inflect our most intimate relationships.

"May of the Maid" continues with a story-arc featuring Joan's real-life rival mystic?!
___
JOKE-OGRAPHY:
1. The Source: This cartoon is based off people who are mentioned briefly in St. Joan of Arc's trial. Here are some relevant passages (translated by W. S. Scott):
1a. Extorting Peasants / Housewifery: "This Catherine said [...] that a woman appeared, a white lady, dressed in cloth of gold, who told her to go through the good towns, and that the king would give her heralds and trumpets to proclaim that whoever had gold, silver, or treasure should at once bring it forth; and that she would know those who did not and those who had hidden it; and would know where to find the treasure; and it would serve to pay Jeanne's men-at-arms. To which [Jeanne] had answered that [Catherine] should return to her husband, and look after her household and children."
1b. Too Chilly: "Asked if she had spoken to Catherine de la Rochelle concerning going to La Charité, [Jeanne] replied that Catherine did not advise her to go there; saying that it was too cold, and she ought not to go."
1c. Premature Truce: "[Jeanne] said also to Catherine, who wished to go to the Duke of Burgundy to make peace, that it was her opinion that they would find no peace save at the lance's point."
2. The Characters: Brother Richard was a Franciscan friar and a doomsday preacher. In 1429, he was prophesying the end times in 1430. He was incorrect, but before people knew that, his sermons stirred whole cities. He also seemed to try and befriend any female mystics (women with visions) he came across, probably to boost his legitimacy. Catherine de La Rochelle was one of these mystics. She and Joan might've started out as friends, but Joan eventually came to suspect Catherine of being a fraud and told the king so. As you might guess, that didn't go over well with Brother Richard or Catherine. It might be because their relationship ended on a sour note that Joan is so short in her answers to questions about them during her trial.

THE SPORTS FESTIVAL WAS GETTING CLOSER BY THE SECOND ━━━ As the class 1A students now had their bags packed to go home it seemed they ran into trouble.
At Class 1-A. Uraraka, Midoriya, and Iida stood near the door to their classroom wanting to leave but it seemed their way was blocked by many other students from different home rooms.
“Wh-What’s going on?!” Uraraka asked, unsure of why so much students were blocking their classes exit door. It was quite threatening actually.
“Do you students have some type of business with our class?” Iida questioned. He sounded rather mature and calm.
The crowd only kept getting larger. Causing the students of class 1A to be left unsure of how to deal with this. It was definitely not what they expected after a long day of school.
“Why are you blocking our doorway?? I won’t let you hold us hostage!!!” Mineta ran from behind and stood next to Midoriya. The short make then lifting his fist and yelling at the much taller students. To be honest, Not many even were able to see him due to his height.
“They’re scouting out the competition, idiot. We’re the class that survived a real villain attack. They wanna see us with their own eyes.” Bakugou explained walking directly towards where the crowd was despite the disagreements and worries of his classmates.
They knew his hot-tempered personality would only drag their class down in being liked. In fact they were now stressing and panicking about what he was going to say now.
“Atleast now you know what a future pro looks like. Now move it extras.” Bakugou scrawled, not caring about the gasps that came from his classmates and the scolding that came from Iida.
“So this is class 1A, I heard you guys were impressive. But, you just sound like an ass.” A tall male with messy, spiked up indigo hair said walking from the back of crowd to pause his movement directly in front of Bakugou.”
“Is everyone in the hero course delusional or is it just you?” He sarcastically asked making Bakugou even more irritated.
“How sad to come here and find a bunch of ego maniacs. I wanted to be in the hero course but like many others hero I was forced to chose a different path, such as life.” The indigo hair coloured male only continued not bothered by the fact Bakugou looked like he was about to explode any second now.
“I didn’t cut it the first time around, but I have another chance.” He added, feeling the confused stares from everyone around him.
“If any one of us do well in the sports festival, they teachers can decide to transfer us to the hero course, and of course they’ll have to transfer people out to make room.” When the male had said that a shift of pressure had been put on most of the hero courses students. Could that really happen to them?
“Scouting the competition?? Maybe some of my peers are. But I’m here to let you know that if you don’t bring your very best I’ll steal your spot from right under you.” He paused for a second, breaking heavy eye contact with Bakugou, turning his eyes to the left of the classroom.
Only then did he see her…She was facing his way though due to the bandage that covered her face it was hard to see the exact place she was looking.
She wasn’t even moving yet she had such an elegant and formidable presence. Her appearance matched her presence quite well as it was striking and intimidating.
Her hair and face was quite unique as well. Her hair was long, spiky, dark with a tint of dark blue. Typically falling just past her waist with a significant amount of volume mainly due to the spikes. The spikes and layers only made her silhouette instantly recognisable.
Her face was relatively pale, which contrasts sharply with her dark hair and eyes. Enhancing the dramatic quality of her appearance.
He soon snapped himself back to reality after realising he dozed off while staring at the girl. Speaking of the girl it finally came to him. Who she was.
Y/N of the Uchiha clan. A honourable, talented genius first child of the main family. He had heard about her on school grounds. Not that rumours about her were big but he had definitely heard them.
He then turned his head away from her realising he had been looking for too long. Putting his focus back on Bakugou and the rest of class 1A.
“Consider this a declaration of war.” He said. Watching the students in the hero course freak out wondering who the hell is this guy who had just threatened them.
“Hey, hey, hey!!I’m from Class B next door!I heard you fought against villains, so I came to hear about it! Don’t get full of yourself!!” Another bold person shouted from the crowd.
He had with chin-length, messy gray hair, and black eyes that are tilted dramatically inwards, each lined with a very thick, jagged, tan-colored substance, presumably his eyelashes.
He doesn’t appear to have any notable eyebrows, and, like Eijiro Kirishima, he has rows of sharp, pointed teeth.
“If you bark too much, it’ll be embarrassing for you during the real fight!” He angrily yelled. It was clear that many students have started to hate class 1A due to Bakugou.
Y/N who watched from afar only sighed. She then silently made her way to the crowd stopping in front of it. Specifically right next to Bakugou as their whispers only grew louder.
‘Wow Uchiha, really has a presence’ Midoriya thought while watching that no one even dared to speak ill to her. She definitely shushed the crowd. They now only stood in front of their doorway blushing and too intimidated to speak.
Y/N not bothering to say anything only began to walk away. Making her way through the gap of the crowd.
“I presume your Y/N Uchiha??” The same Indigo haired boy who had threatened the hero course students said earning the attention of the dark haired girl.
He turned his head to the right seeing the Uchiha’s back was facing at him. Only turning her head to give him a view of face’s side profile.
“Your genes are quite strong, I knew you were an Uchiha when I first saw you.” He added. Then rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.
“Your name?” Y/N asked, eyebrows raising. The attention of the crowd was drawn onto her and the indigo haired male.
“Hitoshi Shinso.” He smirked. Although to everyone’s surprise she didn’t care to say anything back, only turning her head back and continuing to walk away.
It didn’t take long for Bakugou to do the same as he made his way through the crowd.
“You ignoring me, bastard?!” The grey haired male called out shouting at Bakugou. Hating the fact he spoke so highly of himself and his strength.
“Wait a minute, Bakugou! What are you gonna do about all this? It’s your fault that everyone is hating on us!” Kirishima called out
“It doesn’t matter…the only thing that’s important is beating them.” He said. It was clear he was pushing himself. The way he showed no emotions and kept his serious expression proved he was going to do anything just to win.
“I hate that, that was such a manly exit.” Kirishima cried clenching his fist not wanting to cheer on Bakugou’s behaviour but still not denying that he what he said was infact true.
“You said it.” Satou agreed. Watching Bakugou confidently walk away despite the complaints of a few other hero course students.
“To beat them, huh? There is truth in that.” Tokoyami nodded. He also did find Bakugou’s exit quite cool.
“Huh!? Hang on, don’t be tricked! He just made more pointless enemies!” Kaminari panicked. He only sweated at the angry blonde now knowing everyone in class 1A would be put at a disadvantage.
After Bakugou and Uchiha’s exit it seemed other of their classmates seemed to follow behind them not finding a need to stay in any longer despite the crowd.
The UA sports festival was now officially coming up in two weeks time. The whole thing being recorded live on TV for everyone.
There’s no doubt that whoever impresses the audience, will have a much better chance at becoming a pro hero one day.
No one but the teachers and directors of the event will know what the challenges will be until the day of the festival. So they indeed have to prepare for all possibilities.
Days then past. Their training seemed to be harder than expected, with all the training they have done it had indeed made time go by quickly. Before they knew it, it was the morning of the festival.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Y/N was now found herself walking to school. Before hearing voices of another crowd that seemed to be surrounding UA’s gates. From the sounds of it, they were all definitely media reporters.
“The security line is huge what’s the deal??” A reporter sighed. She was now while being at the back of the line complaining to her partner who carried the camera.
“A bunch of villains did just break in, of course the school is being cautious this year. Some people think there shouldn’t even be a festival.” He replied making the reporters eyes beam.
“Perfect!! Nothing brings ratings up like a little controversy. Plus everyone will tune in to see class 1A!!” She smiled as a manically laugh left her mouth.
Although their conversation was the first one that Y/N had heard it definitely wasn’t the last. Her curiosity raised while heard none other than her fiancée’s name as well as hers being mentioned.
“Hey, did you hear endeavours son is one of the first year students. Tajima Uchiha’s daughter too!!” A different woman gossiped. Clearly having no care in the world about who heard her.
“No way!! Endeavour’s son and An Uchiha seriously. Man, the stance for the first years are gonna be packed!!” The man beside her only gave in to her gossip causing more annoyance to reach Y/N’s mind.
‘Tch’ She muttered. Then only ignoring the crowd and making her way to the participant waiting room where the rest of her class most likely was.
She was currently dressed in her sports uniform like instructed. It was to make sure the was kept game fair as no one would be put at a disadvantage.
Although for class 1A their disadvantage was definitely Bakugou’s speech from two weeks ago. Many other students refused to forget about that.
Exactly why their class was not only being targeted by the crowd but as well as other students.
Now finally making it to the waiting room she opened the door to see her class just like expected as everyone was stretching or just mentally preparing themselves.
“Aw man!! I was totally hoping I could wear my costume— Oh UCHIHA!!” Ashido called out her mind and tone of voice completely changing when seeing her the dark haired girl enter the room.
Y/N walked towards the girl with pink hair and skin. Taking a seat on one of the chairs that were assigned in front of the waiting tables.
“Atleast everyone will be in uniforms. That’ll keep things fair right?” Ojiro replied to Ashido before turning and waving to the sitting girl behind them.
Although he soon faceplamed himself realising the fact she wasn’t even able to see him. Due to the bandages that still covered her eyes.
“Oh Uchiha, your bandages still aren’t off…” He muttered due to the fact he wasn’t that close to Y/N. Indeed they’ve spoken many times before but it was never an exact conversation.
It was usually him just adding in a few words in other peoples conversations. But forgetting although her eyesight was restricted. They all had no doubt she would do well.
There last two weeks of training made them certain of it. They’ve seen that although she was injured she still a crazy strong opponent to have.
“I wonder what they have in store for us in the first round.” Satou smiled trying to hide his panic. Wondering if he would make a good impression on the scouters.
“No matter what they prepared, we must persevere.” Tokoyami reassured. Although from the looks of it, it wasn’t that much of a help.
“Everyone get your game faces on. We’re entering the arena soon.” Iida opened the door and shouted. Making sure everyone was prepared for their upcoming entrance.
“Midoriya..” Todoroki called out Midoriya’s name earning everyone’s attention including his fiancé. All attention was now drawn onto the two.
It was said that Todoroki was walking towards Midoriya, while the green haired male only stood in a hidden panic.
“Oh, hey Todoroki.. what’s up?” He asked staring at his taller figure. He seemed more serious than usual which made Midoriya concerned of what he needed.
“From an objective standpoint, I think it’s fairly clear that I’m stronger than you.” Todoroki said as Midoriya only confusingly agreed.
“However you have All Might in your corner helping you out. I’m not here to pry about what’s going on between you too. But know that I will beat you.” Todoroki finished not failing to notice the sudden shift In Midoriya’s nature when both him and All Might were mentioned in the same sentence.
So Todoroki had realised it too. Y/N only kept staring at Todoroki’s through her bandages. It seemed her and Todoroki were on the same page after all.
“You aswell, Uchiha. I hope you know I plan on beating you.” He said Turning to Y/N. Her eyes widened upon hearing Todoroki’s words.
Although to everyone’s surprise a confident smirk was seen on her lips. Her head rested on her fist as her elbow pressed against the table. One of her legs over the other.
“Well let’s hope it’s not hand to hand combat, I’m sure both us know who will win with that..” Y/N replied to him. Her words confused others in the room but to Todoroki, he understood it too well.
“Wow, what’s with all these declarations of war lately.” Kaminari sweated seeing the weird Tension between Todoroki and Y/N. Not to mention her cunning smirk made him feel kinda small.
“Yeah what’s the big deal why you picking a fight all of a sudden. And right before we even started.” Kirishima added getting up from his seat and walking towards Todoroki.
Kirishima placed one of his hands on Todoroki’s shoulder, trying to calm him down. In return Todoroki only pushed Kirishima’s hand off him.
“We’re not here to play at being friends.” Todoroki said to Kirishima leaving the red haired boy confused as Todoroki walks off before pausing once again when hearing Midoriya’s voice.
“Todoroki, I don’t know what you’re thinking when you say you’ll beat me, but of course you’re better than me.” The green haired boy said though it was hard to tell what he meant by his words.
“Infact you probably have way more potential than anyone in the hero course, that’s why you got so easily.” He added though it was clear that Todoroki was way too eager on beating him to actually care what he had to say.
“Midoriya, you probably shouldn’t be so hard on yourself, or us..” Kirishima gave him an awkward smile trying to assure him that it’s best not to be so negative on himself.
“No, his right… all the other courses are coming for us with everything they’ve got! We all have to fight to stand out..” Although his words were confusing to make much sense of, they did differently come from the heart.
“So, I’ll be aiming to the top too.” He finished. Midoriya seemed to have stood his ground, his heart pounding with unwavering resolve.
Todoroki then turns to face Midoriya. He didn’t seem impressed. He knew many others were desperate and determined to win, either for personal glory or recognition.
But for Todoroki, he didn’t seem to care. All that mattered to him was proving himself and finally breaking free from his father’s expectations. Which meant winning the festival would validate his abilities and allow him to step out of endeavours influence.
“Fine.” Todoroki replied to Midoriya. He didn’t have anything else to say and didn’t need anything more. Not to mention it was officially time for the students to enter the arena.
Meanwhile In the sports arena loud cheers were heard coming from the crowd that surrounded the stadium. As Present Mic appears on the screen. He seemed to be the one commentating this year’s sports festival.
“Hey! Make some noise, audience! Get those camera’s ready, mass media!” Present Mic started. He showed excellent enthusiasm meanwhile Mr Aizawa who sat next to him only seemed to be tired of his shenanigans.
“This year’s high school rodeo of adolescence that you all love, the U.A. sports festival, is about to begin! I’ve only got one question before we start this show, are you ready?!” He asked the crowd, as more cheers were given.
“Let me hear you scream, As the students finally enter the first-year stage!” He said, while all eleven first year classes walked out, onto the field. The first year classes which were involved included the hero course, general studies, support and business.
Although all students were spread around the field it wasn’t hard to tell, that everyone was not a fan of the hero course students.
Many general study and business students were talking about how they were supposedly only there ‘to make the hero course look better’.
There whispers only got louder when all students were now lined up in the field waiting for the players pledge to be announced.
“Now, the introductory speech!!” This year’s chief umpire for the first-years called out, it seemed to be none other than the R-Rated Hero, Midnight?
Many of the crowd only blushed at her inappropriate hero costume while shifting their weight from side to side.
“uh, someone should talk to Ms. Midnight about what’s she’s wearing..” Kirishima muttered starching the back of his neck as his cheeks flushed into a blossom pink. Not wanting to look at the R-rated hero to make sure he stayed respectful.
“Yeah that costume should come with a warning” Kaminari agreed with the sharp teethed boy beside him.
“Is that really appropriate apparel for a high school game??” Tokoyami asked, watching Mineta’s reaction as he confidently cheered at the women’s costume.
“Quiet, everyone! Representing the students is Katsuki Bakugou from Class 1-A!!” She introduced. Many seemed to be shocked to find out that ‘Bakugou Katsuki’ out of all people was the first year representative.
They all watched him walk to the front, heavily interested on what he was about to say. Many of his classmates hoped he wouldn’t say anything that might cause more hatred towards them. But knowing Bakugou, that was unlikely.
“What? He is the first year rep?!” Midoriya gulped. It was obvious that out of everyone, Either Bakugou or Mineta was least suitable for this.
“Guess that hothead did finish first in the entrance test.” Sero said. It was true that without counting recommendations students such as Shoto Todoroki, Y/N Uchiha , Momo Yaoyorozu, Juzo Honenuki and Setsuna Tokage. Bakugou was then indeed the top scorer.
“Haah… In the hero course exams.” A brown haired girl from general studies corrected them. She rolled her eyes at them before turning back to Shinso and another male who stood by her.
“It’s obvious she hates us.” Sero whispered to Midoriya and Kaminari as the both of them nodded while still putting their attention on Bakugou.
“And we got Bakugou to blame, for them not liking our class.” Kaminari angrily added. Watching the hot tempered male walk up to the microphone. Midoriya and others could only swallow nervously. Unsure of what someone like him might say.
“I just wanna say…that I’m gonna win.” He declared. It barely took seconds before loud ‘boos’ and insults were heard coming from the other classes.
Class 1-A students only sighed they knew he would’ve said something like that. But still a small piece of them hoped that the blonde wouldn’t and that he would actually say something cheer-worthy instead.
“Why are you doing something so disrespectful!! You’re representing us all.” Iida scolded trying to ignore the fact that he didn’t seem to care about all the hate he was getting.
“Not my fault the rest of you are just stepping stones to my victory.” Bakugou rolled his eyes before slowly walking off the stage with his hands in his pocket.
“How overconfident can you get?! I’ll crush you!” The same male with grey hair from class 1B yelled out. He seemed to be the one from two weeks ago in that big crowd that covered 1A’s classroom door.
Many failed to missed it but it was clear Bakugou wasn’t being overconfident. The old Bakugou would’ve laughed while saying that making it a joke. Instead this was him pushing himself. And making everyone else into targets at the same time.
As soon as Bakugou walked off the stage the top screen’s that surrounded the arena changed images. Now showing a sentence that said ‘first game’ It was most likely that the first round would be a qualifier.
“Without further ado, it’s time for us to get started.” Midnight exclaimed. Not allowing anyone to catch a breath after the chaos that had just happened.
“This is where you begin feeling the pain. The first fateful game of the festival.” She added lifting her hand up to see a floating 3D display behind her.
The screen was large as it also showed multiple first challenges options that were rolled in order to pick what game will be chosen in the first round.
An even amount of relief and disappointment was seen coming from the students as the first game that was picked was ‘obstacle course.’
To be fair an obstacle course was a fair and easy challenge for most students for it didn’t exactly require a specific set of skills.
“All eleven classes will participate in this treacherous contest. The track is about four kilometres around the outside of the stadium.” Midnight explained as the 3D display showed image examples of what she spoke of.
“I don’t want to restrain anyone, at least in this game..so as long as you don’t leave the course you’re free to do whatever your heart desires!!” She licked her lips making the crowd cheer.
“Now then, take your places contestants.” She said watching the students line up at the starting gate, many pushing ahead to the start of the line hoping to get a lead on everyone.
A countdown was held as many were prepared to run ahead, feeling the need to get noticed by pro hero’s.
“And begin!!” Midnight shouted as students rushed ahead pushing and shoving each other.
“And we’re off to a racing start, Are you ready to do the commentary, Mummy Man?” Present Mic laughed referring to Aizawa who sat next to him still covered in bandages head to toe.
“How did you talk me into this?” He sighed already hating everything about this while the loud hero beside him only showed more and more enthusiasm with each second that went by.
“Let’s get started right away, Mummy Man! What should we pay attention to in the early stages?” Present Mic asked spinning around in his chair while the crowd cheered him on.
“The doorway.” Aizawa replied rolling his eyes. On the screen it’s shown that a bunch of students are packed into the tunnel.
Although a large amount of movement was stopped by Todoroki activating his Quirk, freezing a bunch of students in place as he runs ahead.
It’s shown that Uchiha, Aoyama, Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, and Bakugou use their Quirks to get out of the crowd. Getting ahead of other people and catching up to Todoroki.
It seemed that Todoroki had taken the lead with Y/N only inches behind him as Bakugou yelled out to the two catching up to them by using his explosions.
“More people outside Class A were able to dodge that than I expected…” Todoroki muttered seeing a few others carefully dodge the ice.
Y/N and Todoroki were caught by surprise to see a bunch of familiar purple balls be thrown in front of them.
They turned their head in sync to see Mineta throws a bunch of his hair balls on the ice, allowing him to hop across. putting him in third place surprisingly ahead of Bakugou.
I’ve outwitted you, Todoroki! How pathetic!” He shouted. He ignored saying anything negative to the girl who was only inches behind Todoroki.
Not that he didn’t care about her. But he wasn’t idiot enough to say something rude to a woman so beautiful and strong. Even though she was definitely way out of his league.
“Take this! My special attack! Gra—” He was interrupted. Before Mineta was even able throw his hair ball, he’s whacked by a large robot.
“The faux villains from the entrance exam?” Midoriya asked not expecting to see them again.
“Obstacles have shown up suddenly! Starting with… the first barrier! Robo Inferno!” Present Mic commented from the speakers as the students only looked at the robots surprised.
“Aren’t those the zero-point villains from the entrance exam?” Kaminari cautioned. He stopped in his tracks to pause unsure of how to get through the robots that seemed to be meters tall.
“So this is what they used in the general entrance exam..” Y/N said. The crowd in the stadium seemed to be in awe as lightning energy seemed to be channeling around her hand.
She got in a stance ready to attack if necessary. Although she was unable to see, her senses were still extremely strong.
Meaning she understood and was able to notice everything around her body without needing to see them.
“I wonder where they got the money for it?” She asked seeing as there was about 17 Giant robots and 26 smaller ones that were still quite large.
The robots prepare to attack. Y/N’s eyebrows raised seeing Todoroki prepares to activate his Quirk. Surprisingly being faster than the Uchiha.
“If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would’ve prepared something better.Since my stupid old man is watching.” Todoroki stated, then using his Quirk make ice sheets and immobilise the robot solid. Before continuing to run forward.
It was true Y/N could’ve ran and continued but she was much smarter that. She realised something other students were too stupid to see.
“Between their legs! We can get through!” A male from another home room cheered from behind unable to notice the trap he had put out on purpose.
“Idiots.” Y/N muttered as she stood there gathering and focusing more lighting, into her hand. Since it was crucial for generating the justu’s powerful effects.
“I wouldn’t if I were you.I froze them when they were unbalanced. On purpose.” He said watching the unsteady robots collapse. Only looking back to focus Y/N who unsurprising knew all about his little trick.
He watched Y/N showcased exceptional reflexes and agility as she dodged parts of the falling robots that she had cut through using her Chidori.
Preparing for a potential counter while simultaneously dodging, using agile manoeuvres, such as rolls and quick lateral movements.
“Todoroki from Class 1-A! He attacked and defended in one hit!” Present Mic stood up from his seat praising Todoroki while the crowd chanted.
“And look Y/N Uchiha from class 1A aswell!! She dodged perfectly. And what!! She did it without being able to see!!” He added, watching the girl now move on to running forward to catch up with Todoroki.
“Amazing! They’re the ones we should watch! It’s you know, practically unfair!” He laughed. The screen was now focused on the two students allowing the crowd to get a good look at their faces and power.
“Their actions are both logical and strategic.” Eraser Head yawned. Present Mic only face palmed seeing how the long haired teacher showed no enthusiasm or energy.
“As expected from them as they both got in through recommendations! They have never fought them before, but those Robo Infernos couldn’t get past their elite moves!” Present Mic shouted into the microphone trying to save the crowd from Aizawa’s boring words.

MHA 3.4 - My Hero - part 1/3
No spoilers past this episode pls!
I don't care what anyone says Monoma is the funniest character in this show hands down.
BLUE FIRE! Who invited Azula?
A lizard in Stain cosplay. Now I really have seen everything. "Stain's tenets" and it's just Stain's rage yelling as he was falling unconscious in that one viral video, lol.
Ok, sure thing buddy, are you sure it is the 'spinning' that is going to make your dreams come true, and not mountain of knives your going to stab people with?
Do not fight? dO nOt FiGhT? Is she for real? What are they supposed to do? Play dead and hope the villain are stupid?
Class B action coming up! I am down to see more of the side characters getting involved. They are about to taste what Class 1A has already had to experiance.
Kota's spikey hat is awesome and this rando villain doesn't deserve it. These villains are picking on children, and that is weak as hell.
The way Deku is attempting to smile and look strong for Kota is killing me. It is just two kids versus a massive monster of a man. ;(
The villains are GASSING the students. That's dark.
It is lovely that Todoroki is worried about everyone, back in season 1 during the USJ he had a much colder (pun unintended) attitude. I love character development! Bakugo could learn a thing or two.
WHO DIED? DID THIS WEIRDO EAT SOMEONE? WHAT!
For once, I support Bakugo going ham. Not fighting would be ridiculous. They have to fight back.
What is going on? Did they murder one of the cat furries? Noooooo!
Part 2 is here

Hiii ☺️
I heard you want hot takes? Apologies I was a little more direct in my words
1) It's painful to me deep in my core how a woman could write abusive relationships like Feysand and Nessian without any shitstorm nor with any remorse. We have a groomer who branded a young woman and humiliated her to do his bidding and successfully made her submit to his manipulation. And we have a woman abused into a perfect little doll to give Cassian an heir.
1a) I hate that those two relationships are romantized
1b) That there is this idea that three brothers should have the three sisters is weird in a bad way
2) I get reminded by the love of characters like the IC that people lack media literacy and that the hate they send is a signal of the shift to the (alt-)right
2a) Velaris alone shows me that the IC are villains and I hate that everyone pretends that they are not within the series
2b) I hate that people give excuses for the blatant Imperialist and Colonialist messages that are portrayed.
2c) I hate that they portray this abusive mentality of "pull yourself up by ypur bootsstraps"
3) I wish the people who only read ACOTAR books who liked the smut to just spend one hour on AO3 because I'm disappointed that they have read this shitty smut and think it's well written x.x.
3a) I hate how the "kinky" scenes all were SA in some way because the people who were in the room never could consent and the first time Feyre had been roofied too!
3b) The whole book is just written around the bad smut scenes and it's frustrating and honestly bad...
4) I hate how abuse in ACOTAR is portrayed, especially how it's deemed "therapy".
5) I want to punt every person who says Nesta or Tamlin are narccissts into the face with a book on signs of narcissitic relationships because it's frustrating to me that the term is misused. (But I'm glad they have never suffered from a narcissist)
First of all—yes to all of this. You came in swinging and I adore you for it. We are not here to be soft about structural harm, aestheticized abuse, or weaponized smut disguised as “healing.” You laid out your takes so clearly and fiercely, and I am right there with you—and I’ve got thoughts to add too.
1) Romanticized Abuse and the Dollification of Women
The Feysand and Nessian relationships are… rough. Not just in content, but in how they’re framed. We’re told these dynamics are healthy, desirable, aspirational—and that’s the real horror.
• Rhysand branded Feyre. Branded. Her. In a public court while she was mentally and physically incapacitated.
• He drugged her. Touched her. Painted her. Paraded her. Lied to her. And every inch of that is excused with the magic words: “he was protecting her.”
• And Cassian? He didn’t fall in love with Nesta as she was. He punished her until she became someone more digestible. And that’s supposed to be healing?
Women aren’t projects. Women aren’t redemption arcs for men. The fact that SJM portrays submission—emotional, behavioral, sexual—as a form of recovery is disgusting. And the fact that fandom eats it up? Heartbreaking.
1b is the cherry on top—the three brothers, three sisters thing? It’s so regressive and clunky. Like fate just wrapped up everyone into neat little heteronormative, cis, monogamous pairings with no room for growth, messiness, or personal desire. It’s worldbuilding by way of convenience, and it completely flattens the characters.
2) Media Literacy and the Rise of Alt-Right Aesthetics
God, YES. This series absolutely traffics in soft-fascist, imperialist, and individualist ideologies—and the fact that so many people read it and say “goals” is chilling.
• Velaris is propaganda. It’s a luxury city built on silence, secrecy, and the suffering of Illyrians and the Hewn City. It’s literally gated utopia for the Inner Circle and their pets.
• The IC are painted as liberators, but they’re just bureaucratic tyrants with good hair. Their diplomacy is hostile. Their control over information and people is terrifying.
• The way people say “Nesta should be grateful” or “Tamlin is evil and deserves no sympathy” shows how far fandom has gone from understanding trauma, power dynamics, and actual abuse.
2c is a HUGE one—that bootstraps mentality is everywhere. “If you’re not healing the right way, you deserve to be punished.” Nesta gets exiled and stripped of her autonomy because she’s not recovering pretty. That is NOT therapy. That is punishment. And it reflects a very real-world idea that trauma survivors must perform wellness to be worthy of love.
3) The Smut. Oh gods. The Smut.
Say it louder for the people in the back: ACOTAR smut is not good. It’s repetitive, euphemistic, and mostly serves to either dominate the female character or reinforce power imbalances.
• AO3 has entire libraries of better-written, consensual, character-driven intimacy.
• In ACOTAR, smut is just violence with a bow on top.
• 3a is criminally underrated as a point. The fact that Feyre was drugged and then touched, painted, and controlled is not “kinky.” It’s sexual assault. And people still defend it.
There’s no meaningful consent in these scenes. There’s no space for desire outside of submission. And that’s not erotic—it’s terrifying.
4) Abuse Framed as Therapy
This might be the most insidious part. The idea that “being broken down” is the first step to healing. That you must be exiled, isolated, and humbled before you can earn love. That you should be grateful to your abuser for “fixing” you.
That’s not therapy. That’s abuse in disguise.
And it hurts to see readers—many of them young and vulnerable—take this in and think, “This is what healing looks like.” No. Healing is messy. It’s individual. It requires support, not control. Boundaries, not punishments.
5) Weaponized Psychology
Yes, yes, YES. “Narcissist” is not a synonym for “person I don’t like.” Mislabeling Tamlin or Nesta as narcissists just shows a shallow understanding of what narcissistic abuse actually is—and like you said, it’s a luxury of those who’ve never experienced it.
Nesta is a trauma survivor. Tamlin is an abuser—but a narcissist? Not necessarily. He’s possessive, emotionally volatile, and broken, yes. But labeling him a narcissist flattens his pain and removes any responsibility from the narrative that created him.
Also… how many narcissistic traits do we see in Rhysand, and no one says a word?
TL;DR: You’re Not Harsh. You’re Honest.
You’re not too direct. You’re just calling out the truth that’s been coated in glitter and inked in black leather. You’re seeing the systemic harm in the story structure. And you’re right to be angry. This isn’t about hating popular books—it’s about demanding better from stories that are being consumed by millions and framed as empowering.
You see it. You name it. And your voice is part of the shift toward stories that don’t just aestheticize trauma—but interrogate it.
I’m so glad you said all this.

What’s your MHA dr like if you’re comfortable sharing? <3

Of course, thank you for the question, I'm glad you asked ♡︎
As I stated in my introduction, I shifted to multiple au's of the canon version, so they were different dr's each time. I haven't shifted yet to a dr where I was in UA, but I still had so much fun!
I'll divide the descriptions in two categories to make it more organized and easy to read.
✮⋆˙ 𝑇𝑦𝑝𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑑𝑟'𝑠
Premise: everytime I shifted to a mha dr, it was set in my house or an outside place similar to my hometown. I want to say that the location choice was completely unintentional, but I came to the conclusion that I must've shifted in places that are familiar to me because I'm subconsciously afraid of leaving my house for a long time since I'm not used to traveling or staying away for long. Still, they were full shifts and I'm extremely happy with the resultsー here's the list of dr's 🙂↕️
first accidental shift (UA in my town)
pijama party at my house
late night bike ride w bakugo
exploring an "abandoned" asylum
In terms of "realism" of course everything felt real, because it was real. In my case every dr was in 3d, so the people were exactly as they are here; everyone had their own personality and traits, and I think that's what most makes you realize that you are actually there and you're not dreaming. You come to the realization that your friends are actually real people and not characters anymore, and by being close totl them, you also realize how human they are: they each have their favorite TV shows, hobbies, their own way of speaking... It's kind of insane when you first realize it.
✮⋆˙ 𝑃𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒
I spent time with Bakugo, Kirishima, Shinsou, Ojiro and the girls so far. One thing I've noticed is that sexism is not even a thing in my drs, and that genuinely shocked me. Like, in other realities women are not seen as objects and are actually treated like people with feelings. No sexist jokes, no weird stares, no lewd comments, not a single hand touching where it shouldn't be. It was actually insane to me. What shocked me the most is that Katsuki of all people is the most respectful to women in 1A along with Kirishima. 😭
If you're curious, here's a brief description of their personalities ˙ᵕ˙
𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢: he looks the meanest, but he's actually the sweetest after kirishima. He always has his death stare mode on and the first that would come in mind is that he's either real mad or really bored- truth is, that's just his resting face and he can switch emotions in the blink of an eye. He's the most caring and nurturing man I've ever met, surprisingly. He gets annoyed really fast and has an incredibly short temper, but despite that, he can be really romantic and nice when he wants to. Also his hair is reeeeally soft and his muscles and build are insane lol😭 I could talk about him for hours (he also rides a black bike and secretly cares a lot about deku and his health/safety)
𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐚: the sweetest of them all. He's like a brother to me and trust me when I tell you he's EXTREMELY EMPATHETIC, like, empath final boss typa shit. You cannot hide literally anything from him because he'll notice it anyway, and he's always waiting for you with open arms whenever he does. He gives the best hugs ever and he's also really fond of older women, always offering them his help or keeping them company (my mom and him adored each other😭🥹). He's an extrovert and could talk with walls if they could answer back lmao. Also, his hair hardens as well when he actives his quirk and he loves pranking people whenever he hugs someone by turning his quirk on
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐚: that girl is nosy af but she's sooo funny. Probably the funniest of the group. She's obsessed with dragon trainer and jjk, and would kill to buy a collab doll-dragon collection that happened in my dr. She likes to tease her girls and she's probably the bravest out of our female group, although it's clear that she's scared even when she's acting confident. Really loud, but really nice and tends to include everyone. Once again, she's really nosy and devours any type gossip up lmaooo🙏🏻
𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐮: Shinsou is my bsf and he's introverted af. I barely remember his face, because I was kind of sleeping when I was interacting with him. I remember we were in math class and I was falling asleep by how boring it was, and when he noticed, he started pinching my hands and cracking jokes in my ears so that I would wake up 😭💘. He's really tall and his voice is so deep it literally shakes my core lol, also he uses a perfume that's really strong and menly. Eventually he gave up on trying not to let me fall asleep and he leaned closer with his shoulder so that I could sleep with my head resting on it. I swear I could feel him smile, but I was too tired and fell asleep. He's so precious it makes my heart want to cry
As for Ojiro and the other girls, I can barely remember them. Ojiro was also shaking my hand to wake me up in math class and mouthing me to stay awake, but I was too sleepy to register anything- he seemed really nice though. The girls on the other hand were with me exploring around that abandoned building, but I had just shifted and I hadn't realized that yet, so I didn't pay attention to their appearance but instead to what was happening and the adrenaline rush I was having.
Also, present mic was the first person I ever heard in my first accidental shift. THAT MAN IS SO FUCKING LOUD I'M SURPRISED THAT MY EARDRUMS WERE INTACT YET. LITERALLY WHAT THE FUCK. AND HE'S SO STRICT THAT IT'S INSUFFERABLE, GOD 😭😭
Let me know if you want a story time or if you want any more details. I plan on making a story time about my accidental shift and the abandoned asylum one, because what happened there is so fucking funny it's a pity not to tell.

As anti BKDK & anti Bakugou, can I ask why you hate him and Aizawa so much (at least I get it why you dislike Endevour)? Yes, Bakugou was bad at first, but he grew as character. Now, he is one of the best anime/manga character ever. When he 'died', many anti Bakugou overjoyed, but he came back alive !!
Why do you thing Bakugou as a character is so popular (beloved by non shippers and shippers)?
Are you anti BKDK because you dislike mlm shipping?
Thanks for your blog, I don't like to say rude things just because of fandom and fictional characters, but can I ask why you dislike Bakugou so much when he changed so much? Like, his devotion to Midoriya is real and he truly is a hero.
(Hope you don't mind to have follower who is Bakugou fan and BKDK shipper)
I have made a lot of posts about why I hate Bakugou.
It's not because he's a bad person. A bad person can be a great character. Shigaraki is one of my favorite characters in the series. I have a lot of issues with Bakugou as a character, not a person.
A big issue is probably how everyone treats him, especially in comparison to other characters. Bakugou can be as callous and spiteful as he wants and so many characters trip over themselves to praise him. Aizawa (I'll get to him in a second), All Might, and the other teachers don't see fit to correct his behavior, even when he's been violent towards his other classmates (mainly Izuku). Worse, Aizawa outright favors him.
Bakugou punched Izuku during the Final Exam and refused to cooperate. What did Aizawa do? Nothing. He passed him even though he failed Sero, who sacrificed himself to save Mineta. He doesn't even scold Bakugou for this even though he scolded Uraraka and Aoyama during the Training Camps.
Monoma isn't even half as bad as Bakugou. At worst, he gives 1A a hard time occasionally. But 1A absolutely can't stand him. Bakugou's friends- Kirishima and Sero- are Monoma's biggest critics.
Then there's how the narrative bends over backwards to make Bakugou seem like a better person. And why I hate Aizawa is that most of the time it's through him. Bakugou is accused of going too hard on Uraraka? Aizawa scolds the crowd to blatantly tell us- the viewers- that they don't know what they're talking about and that Bakugou respects Uraraka as an opponent.
Which isn't even true. He a) blatantly told Uraraka that she should have given up and b) assumed her plan was Izuku's doing. Aizawa was dead wrong, even though he's supposed to be a way to tell us what's going on. And this isn't even the only time he does this, he also defended Bakugou's behavior to the journalists and said that he would work on improving it.
Except he didn't. But this was a way to, once again, shut down criticism of Bakugou. Everyone who criticizes Bakugou even a little is antagonized to make him look better than he is: the pros at the Sports Festival, the journalists, Monoma, etc.
Izuku is also forced to be a tool to make Bakugou's development look better. He was forced to validate Bakugou's insecurities during Deku vs Kacchan Part 1. We're told, by All Might, that Izuku doesn't hold Bakugou's behavior against him. Even Bakugou's apology was less about Izuku- his victim- and more about making Bakugou look better. Izuku, as one of my favorite characters, deserves better than that.
Also, to me, Bakugou's "change" isn't all that significant. He still does most of the things he did before, it was just changed to be more comedic. Bakugou didn't actually change, he got a character shift to make it easier to redeem him. How can I say he's changed when none of the other characters hold him accountable?
I hate Aizawa because he's a bad teacher and a hypocrite. He's constantly scolding and berating Izuku, but says almost nothing to Bakugou. Accuses All Might of favoritism when he had a whole protege on the side he was trying to get into the hero course. Constantly berates his class for their faults while doing nothing to make them better.
Again, during the Final Exam, he had five other students who failed. Students he could have easily worked with prior to that exam. But he was fine bending over backwards to make sure Bakugou passed. He's a bad teacher that the series tries to make out to be better than he is.
Also, I do NOT hate mlm shipping. Zolu is one of my favorite ships ever. I hate yaoi shippers who feel the need to bash female characters for getting in the way of their ship (or being shipped with a male character in Katara's case). It's blatant misogyny, just because it's gay doesn't mean it's not prejudiced. Uraraka gets treated terribly by BakuDeku shippers, or she's shipped with Tsu or Toga, tucked away in a background sapphic ship where she can't interfere. That's just as bad as bashing her because it's using a sapphic ship as a tool to prop a gay ship.
I don't hate mlm shipping. I hate how some of my favorite characters are treated because of it. There's also an issue with it fetishizing gay men for straight women, but that's another issue entirely.
My hatred for BakuDeku is actually separate from this. It's a ship built off of abuse. The abuse even persists in their platonic relationship, it would absolutely maintain in a romantic relationship. BakuDeku benefits Bakugou and only Bakugou, not Izuku.
I think Bakugou is so well liked because his gimmick of tough and edgy entices a lot of people. He had a lot of fans before he started to get redeemed. And now with his "great" character development, it justifies a lot of people's love for him.

amidst all the gawyn casting kerfuffle, i never reacted to gaebril and the potential story implications thereof!
point #1: the official character description strongly implies that gaebril is morgase's established lover, i.e. when we first meet the andoran crew at the beginning of the season, we will be introduced to him as morgase's lover & advisor (as opposed to a storyline where he's a newcomer in court and gradually gets close to her over the course of the season; if that had been the case, his official pre-season character description would've been "a new face in the andoran court who hopes to prove his loyalty to the queen" or something)
point #2: the other 6 forsaken were released during 2x08
point #3: there doesn't appear to be too big of a timeskip between 2x08 and 3x01
this leaves us with a few possibilities for gaebril.
possibility #1: gaebril was never a real person and has only ever been the persona for a forsaken
possibility #1A: gaebril has arrived at court and become morgase's most trusted companion very very quickly (like, within the span of only a few weeks).
possibility #1B: there's a longer timeskip between 2x08 and 3x01 than we think, or there's a timeskip between 3x01 and 3x02 (if the caemlyn crew isn't introduced until then), which gives forsaken!gaebril more time to worm his way into a position of influence in andor.
this is the possibility that we all immediately assumed when we saw gaebril because it's the case in the books, but upon thinking about it more, i'm not sure i buy it. 1A would raise Very Obvious red flags not only to the audience, but surely to elaida, gawyn, and galad as well, and so then why would they all happily head out to tar valon if they have bad feelings about this new guy in town who's gained such an in with morgase so quickly? 1B doesn't feel particularly likely because unlike between s1 and s2 when a good amount of time was needed to set up various new status quos, s2 into s3 feels like we should be ready to hit the ground running and not just hang around for months before starting the next quest.
plus, both these options would make the audience's first impression of morgase be that she's a bit of a fool. even if we later learn that compulsion is being used on her, the idea of her as a super clever and cunning ruler (as per her character description) will be a pretty hard sell if our very first scene(s) of her is her placing trust in an advisor who to us is very obviously shady and probably a forsaken (show-onlys will definitely be on the lookout for potential disguised forsaken when s3 kicks off!). dramatic irony with the audience knowing someone's secretly evil but the characters around them don't know - that's much more effective when it's heartbreaking to watch than when it's frustrating to watch Because It's Just So Obvious, How Can They Not See?
this brings me to:
possibility #2: gaebril is a real bona fide andoran lord who genuinely does have a consensual relationship with morgase and has been her most trusted companion for many years, and later in the season (maybe as the finale stinger to set up s4) he gets killed by a forsaken, who then assumes his identity and begins manipulating morgase by impersonating her years-long most trusted companion.
imo, this would work better on a few levels.
it allows us to get to know the real morgase and see the smart Bad Bitch powerhouse she is before she falls under forsaken influence
it's a much subtler manipulation campaign, which would fit with the show giving competence upgrades and subtlety upgrades to the forsaken so far
while watching morgase get manipulated by A Weird Guy Who Just Showed Up could be frustrating for the audience and make her seem stupid to us, watching her get manipulated by a guy she thinks is her most trusted companion but who we know is actually a forsaken impersonating him would be so heartbreaking and we'd really empathize with her
morgase sleeping with a forsaken voluntarily but unknowingly/under false pretenses would be a tiiiiiiny bit less icky than her being literally mind-controlled-by-magic into sleeping with a forsaken (though still very icky! but similar to how the show did randfear)
it would be harder for the people around morgase to pin her increasingly erratic behavior on The Weird Guy Who Just Showed Up and would make it more believable that they fully blame HER for everything, which thus makes elayne's job of rehabilitating house trakand's reputation that much harder
if nothing is obviously different and morgase doesn't have a brand-new Weird Guy Who Just Showed Up hanging around her all the time, it's a lot more believable that the people around her don't notice anything off until it's too late
it could be a fun little way for the show to surprise readers and not just show-onlys!
it could hypothetically allow some Forsaken Consolidation by making it possible for one forsaken to do double-duty; for example, maybe sammael has a little something else going on earlier in s3 but then scoots over to impersonate gaebril for s4, thus allowing us to cut rahvin and have sammael do 2 narrative jobs. (i really do feel like rahvin would be a great one to combine with someone else because he truly does only do One Thing, albeit a very important One Thing. plus, i'm biased and want the final male forsaken slot to go to demandred because i love him and also i want the show to give us the taimandred storyline we should have gotten in the books!)
as of now, the only real objection i can think of to this theory is "why wouldn't they have just used bryne as the lover-adviser who gets killed and impersonated?" but eh, maybe they thought making gaebril a real andoran lord to start would be less of a stretch to book canon than making bryne get killed and impersonated, or maybe they don't want bryne coming anywhere near the show so as not to spark fears of siuaraine getting broken up and put with their book LIs, or maybe bryne actually will show up in the show somewhere else and thus couldn't get killed and impersonated.

Hi, another idea. Delaware made a post talking about how Mina was anti gadget on the sport festival (she faced Aoayama who was wearing one, note how he doesn't anymore after that... maybe he does and I'm mistake) it was an Answer for an ask.
But it was noted how she think less of Aoayama and how no one in UA seems to care for Aoayama as a student till the big reveal.
It makes me think if Izu had a gadget...people would.hate on him. Many fics love make BK ruining his gadgets and I can see it but Mina went straight to the gadget (one may say that was a clever move on her part but it felt as if she was bullying him) so...I think if Izu was to use gadget ...he would be even more an odder duck.
I say this bc in my TTau. I want to have Izumi to wear gadgets to prevent her bones to shatter and we see A1 being shitty friends, ofc. Karma is coming to them.
Izumi sees how UA has no care in teaching how to use quirks and many heroes are content in use the basic. Mirio learned how to control his quirk alone (nighteye gets no credit here as he didn't lift a finger) and wonders what's the point in being a hero? Why do we need a hero anyway?
Hi @mikeellee 👋
I don't think mina is anti-gadget or she isn't anti-gadget on purpose, that is.
What I mean by this is that mina aimed for yuuga's belt because she thought it was the easiest way to take him out. Now, this is only fair as it definitely was the quickest way to win that fight as the problem with yuuga is that he is DEPENDENT on that support item and therefore he can't do much without it.
You can argue that her aiming for his support device is unfair, but that argument falls flat when the whole premise festival is to do whatever to win as long as it's not outright killing your opponent. The argument then falls flat again when you put this in a real-life villain vs. hero type of situation where people will do whatever, however cruel or nasty it may be, to win.

The thing is, yuuga still does wear his support item, but it blends in well with his hero costume, which is the only time he actually uses his quirk. The support item sticks out like a sore thumb when yuuga is in his sports kit, so maybe that's why you got confused.

I don't ever remember seeing mina stating or thinking that yuuga is less than her or anyone else because of his use of a support item.
Also, I think the lack of focus or care for yuuga before the traitor arc was both intentional and somewhat of a writing issue. Horikoshi deeply neglected the traitor plot surrounding yuuga, and because of that, we don't get much of yuuga or foreshadowing to his character arc. I also like to think that yuuga probably had a strong internal conflict within him due to the role he had to play and how he could never be who he wants to be due to the connections he has with AFO. Due to feelings of guilt and not wanting to cause harm by staying ignorant, yuuga probably tried and failed to distance himself from class 1A.
The argument kinda ends up falling apart when you do realise that in Canon izuku does have a gadget. Remeber the support item that Melissa made for his arm, yep izuku has that and he constantly wears it with his hero outfit and we don't see much comments on that.
All mights point to izuku was to not rely on support items which he has a point when it comes to that but does end up coming off as harmful advice if you take into account how All Might is as a character.

Again, I think it depends on the type of gadget that izuki would use for people to exploit it. Something such as his arm bands are okay because he can function without them, and honestly, the arm bands aren't easy to reach at all, not without izuku punching or hitting someone.
The TTAU sounds like a great way to tackle some of the issues that the narrative has. I do think that you should introduce a nuanced conversation when it comes to support equipment. Leading izumi to such a conclusion is also interesting because heroes are supposed to help, and hero schools are supposed to help you improve and strengthen your quirk, but ua does it with almost no direct support given to the students.

FINAL
(ROUND 4 SIDE A+B, MATCH 1)
Ojiro Mashirao/Kaminari Denki
I love all the scenes where he’s playing with his tail. They’re so cute I love them
-
Always touching tail :3
-
Look, this ship is based mostly on the fact that Kaminari has been caught multiple times petting Ojiro's tail (even when he is changing form his hero costume), and he seems so unbothered about it that it makes sense that this is just normal behavior for them. Which implies that they are very close…
In general I think that they would make a great couple because they complement each other in a lot of ways, like in loud vs quiet or airhead vs levelhead… You get the gist!!
PS: To be honest it's the gay version of Ojitoru and let me tell you that I think it's perfect <3
Ojiro Mashirao/Shinsou Hitoshi
the “enemies” to friends to lovers pipeline is real
-
Look, they start on the wrong foot but I think that makes them perfect. Ojiro is quite literally the one that always tries to find the middle ground because of his kindness and respect for others. So seeing him piss at someone itches my brain in a way that I can explain.
Also he could help him improve his fighting skills, considering that he is literally the Martial Arts guy and help him learn some movement things. Also, I think that at the end of the day Ojiro would be that comfy blanket for him and he could open up to him for sure. In conclusion I think that they are perfect for each other <3
Ojiro Mashirao/Hagakure Tooru
1a has almost no straight ships lol, (not including kamijiro, and dekuchaco because they’re too gay to be straight plus I ship them with other characters more) also Ojiro and Hagakure are both semi boring compared to the rest of the class and hence deserve to be together. Also, somehow, Ojiro just gives REALLY STRAIGHT VIBES
-
Him and Hagakure are the most background couple, yet they also seem to be very sweet together and balance out. Her outgoing energy seems to be on the wavelength as his more
calmer demeanor.
-
they’re like halfway canon and also i think they would be cute. they’re probably the most normal couple in 1a
-
Look, Ojitoru has been one of my OTP next to Kamijirou since I became OBSESSED with this anime back in 2020
I have always loved everything about them together from the canon where they talk a lot and have been seen being friends almost from the beginning to the majority of collective headcanons about them. Like how they balance each other out or how Ojiro lets Hagakure drag him in her shenanigans. Ojitoru is literally the song “Just the Way You Are” and I think that’s beautiful <3
When we didn’t know how Hagakure looked I was a firm believer that he had a crush even without having seen her because of her voice and personality. That he would be the only one to care enough to know her moods based on the movement of his corporal language. And Ojiro would make sure everyday of his life that Hagakure knows how lucky he is and how much he loves her. And that we know how she looks? MAN he is going to be whip for the rest of his life because she is gorgeous (and please someone give my girls some clothes thanks)
Hagakure has always been supportive and she has tried to make Ojiro understand that his quirk and him are perfect and interesting even if he doesn’t realize it. She would make a point of showing him as much as she can. Also she would remind him how HOT he is, because I’m a firm believer that Hagakure loves how Ojiro looks and she considers him HOT AS FUCK.
In conclusion, I think that they are too underrated, need more appreciation (and fics we DEFINITELY need more fics) AND PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!!!!!!
OJITORU FOR THE WIN!!!!!!
Ojiro Mashirao/Kaminari Denki: @dounatuchoko on X
Ojiro Mashirao/Shinsou Hitoshi: @hiberrybottle on X
Ojiro Mashirao/Hagakure Tooru: @kamichi_ka on X

MY FAV CHARACTERS IN 1A CLASS ~~

KATSUKI BAKUGO : Do I really need to explain? I mean, he's everything i need and want, a friend, a rival, an enemy, a lover, a classmates!!! His personality is incredible, and his character development is just amazing!!! I love Horikoshi for having created him that way, and didn't take the prototype as the real Katsuki!!

IZUKU MIDORIYA :
Again, do I need to explain? He's the main character, a cinnamon roll, a cutie patootie, a sunshine, he's my everything!! His character development is also pretty good, even if most people find him annoying because of how much the anime talks about his past and not others' past. But he's still one of my fav!!!

MINA ASHIDO and TORU HAGAKURE :
Both are close friends, and are literally those hyped, energetic and cute girls who everyone needs as their friends, especially introvert people! And as an introvert person, I need Mina and Toru as my friends! I can't stop thinking that days with her would be tiring, but actually more exciting and thrilling than my normal days!! Their energy and personality are perfect!!!

MASHIRAO OJIRO :
This character from class 1A is one of the most underrated, but I don't understand why at all!! His funny, kind, caring, and actually has a good quirk! I did martial art (Taekwondo and Judo) and seeing a character in MHA doing martial art and saying it, it literally makes me relate! Love Him So Much!!!

JIRO KYOKA :
Do I need to explain myself? This girl is literally my type of human!! I love how she's always so carefree and cool, and her blushing is sooooo cute!! The way she can play many instrument and knows singing is just making me fall!! I love people who plays many instruments (virtuosos), and she's literally one!!!

SHOTO TODOROKI :
Probably many people and fan relate to him because of his Daddy Issues, like I also do. But can you blame me? I don't think, so. I have daddy issues since a while now, probably since my little sister is born. I would like to have Shoto's confidence and boldness when he argues or talk back to his father, because I just can't talk back like he does… That's why he's in this list!!!

HITOSHI SHINSOU and SHOTA AIZAWA :
Hitoshi's character development and the fact that he'll be in class 2 instead of Aoyama because he felt like he wasn't deserving to stay at UA since he was traitor is literally the best thing that could happen after war against All For One and the League of Villains!! The fact that certainly and probably do insomnias is making me relate (again) to him, because I have sleeping troubles TwT
Aizawa is like a father for the whole class 1A, but especially Shinso (and a tiny bit Izuku), and I love him. He doesn't show anything of his real feelings, but he's deeply affected by the fact that Kurogiri was actually Oboro and all this stuff, that his students might suffer, that his friends could be hurt, and I just love it!!!

TAMAKI AMAJIKI :
He's the complete and right description of me. I relate to him so much, since I'm literally him. I'm anxious socially, depressed, introvert and I like staying and being at home, even if I look all extrovert and energetic on social medias! I feel quickly stressed and anxious when all attention is on me, and I can't help but relate to him soooooo much!

KEIGO TAKAMI (HAWKS) :
Keigo is the type of man who could do anything for his beloved. Do I need to say more about him?? His character development is also so good, and the way he talked to Lady Nagant is just so reassuring and comforting!!! I want, no, I need a friend like him!!
That's all the characters I love and without them, well, My Hero Academia won't be the same!

things im noticing as i rewatch bnha, an ongoing thread:
SEASON 1
- deku really was such a nerd lmao he's just like me fr (like i KNEW but i didn't remember how much i could relate to it. oops.)
- it's also interesting that he always fights back against bakugo and calls him an idiot a lot. idk why (probably because of fandom characterization) i remembered early-seasons deku as a lot more innocent and scared of bakugo. like, here's the thing, deku is scared of pretty much everything at the start because he's shy/anxious. he gets nervous talking to most of his classmates (especially, but not only, girls) when he first meets them and starts trembling when he gets elected as class president before handing the role to iida. so basically, his anxiety isn't reserved to bakugo like i remembered – if anything, he seems to get over his fear of getting bullied by him pretty quickly once he realizes he can fight back.
- kaminari tried to ask uraraka out in their first or second day of school and she was like "uhhh i like to eat... uhh... WAIT DEKU CAME BACK FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE" lol i really didn't remember that
- bakugo's insecurity was always there. as you're reading this you might be thinking i first watched mha with my eyes closed or sth, and you're not very far from the truth. here's the thing, i first watched it when i was like 14-15, so all i knew back then was that bakugo was insufferable and i didn't think further than that. of course, he ended up becoming one of my favorite bnha characters after reading all of the manga, but it's cool to realize his character arc was foreshadowed from the beginning and didn't just magically start around season 3.
- but yeah, anyway, bakugo's insecurity and his envy over deku's natural noble nature was always there, since season 1. also, deku's real admiration over bakugo was also there. like, going back to my other point, deku wasn't just Not Overly Scared of bakugo, he actually looked up to him despite knowing he was deeply flawed. tbh they were always a bit crazy about each other.
- uraraka is so funny i love her.
- all of class 1A was so chaotic good coded
- like they collectively made fun of bakugo on the bus to USJ for being rude lol. they really bonded over their shared dislike for the guy.
- bakugo gets fucking HUMBLED all of s1. i would also be irrationally angry ngl.
- the dialogues in the first season sometimes are so unnatural for the sake of exposition, like all might telling recovery girl: "do you mind not talking so loudly ab OFA? only you, a close friend, the principal, and midoriya know about OFA. but most professors and some pro heroes also know about my condition and not being able to fight for more than 3 hours a day" like WHO TALKS LIKE THAT ??!1?1?
- deku had to go to recovery girl's office a total of 4 times (if i counted correctly) for broken limbs of fingers in HIS FIRST WEEK of school. which is funnier considering no one else from class 1A had to go even once.
- damn shigaraki was a skinny legend before he got OP
- aizawa did not react at all when he first saw kurogiri (about the shirakumo thing). that was surprising.
- also. AIZAWA IS SO BADASS?? like yes i knew he was badass from the later seasons, but i genuinely didn't remember his first fighting sequence at USJ where he single-handedly fights like at least 20 villains.
- i had also forgotten that shigaraki calls eraserhead "really cool" so early on in the anime, i thought it was a later-seasons thing.
- this is really obvious but i had forgotten the all might theme's resemblance to superman's theme. it's such a cool little detail tho!
- uraraka and deku definitely were crushing on each other when they first met, but i think it's nice that they ended up developing a really strong friendship instead of getting together after hori didn't consistently develop them romantically. it also makes a lot more sense narratively, like why would we care who deku ends up with at the end of his first year of UA when the story actually ends 8 years after that, and it's very unlikely that you marry the same person you started dating when you were 15. idk, i liked that. i like that you can have two characters who maybe have a crush on each other but can't focus on that due to Circumstances and eventually move on and become good friends. it's a win for the platonic department!
- the animation was kinda bad in the first season 😭 but it's understandable and i had fun watching it regardless.
okay im done with s1 tune in for s2 !!
