Nothing like hot cornbread (or even just BREAD) straight out of the oven with some butter when you're having a terrible day. I feel like if there's a type of recipe that Lucifer would pick up quickly, it's BAKED CARBS. The heat from Hell probably throws off all the proofing/rising times, but he's had several thousand years to practice.
SOUTHERN COMFORT FOOD SERIES Chicken and Waffles Sweet Tea Peach Cobbler Hushpuppies Crab/Crawfish Boil Gumbo (plus character notes!) Beignets (part 2) Shrimp and Grits Biscuits and Gravy Pecan Pie/Sugar Pie Fried Catfish ??? - Season 1 Finale
Description under the cut!
[IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Colored comic!
Panel 1: Lucifer opens the door to Alastor's room, which is dark inside. L: Hiiii there mister. I made you a snack. Heard you were having a bad day -
Panel 2: Alastor's shadow appears, hissing threateningly at Lucifer, who just stands there with a plate of hot cornbread in his hands, unbothered.
Panel 3: The shadow pauses, noticing the cornbread.
Panel 4: The shadow has gone back to its usual size, and it's sniffing at the plate happily. Alastor (offscreen): Did you make cornbread?
Panel 5: Lucifer sits down on Alastor's bed. Alastor is nowhere to be seen under a massive pile of blankets wrapped around him. All that is visible are his eyes and his hands as he plucks a slice of cornbread off the top of the plate. He glares at it dubiously. L: Yup! Niffty showed me! Even used a cast iron pan!
Panel 6: Alastor munches on the cornbread within the confines of his blanket mountain, though his eyes imply he's quite happy. His shadow sits behind him, beaming and projecting little heart shadows. A: Thank you. Lucifer smiles, pleased with himself.

Binging - How to Avoid It
In my experience, the key to avoid binging is learning how to control my cravings. Now when I see a pack of chocolate covered biscuits I just look at it and go "meh" or at most even have 1 piece of it with milk *after* lunch and won't even feel like binging because I feel satiated (satiated ≠ full)
Cravings - What Causes Them?
A sugar crash is the sudden drop in energy levels after consuming a large amount of carbohydrates, such as pasta, pizza and desserts ↬ This is what causes your cravings and may lead to another binge, especially after a period of restriction
What I have done:
Get rid of the triggers. Get rid of sugary food, sodas, chocolates, sweets, etc whatever is the thing that triggers a binge. Out of sight, out of mind. If you can't because someone else is buying those things, stay away from them.
Up your fibre and protein intake. Fibre is wonderful, because it "clothes" your carbs aka the carbs in your food is absorbed much slowly into your blood stream + you don't absorb all the calories of the carbs you ate. For example, if an item contains 10 g carbs and 3 g fibre, net carbs is 7 g so you'll only take in approximately 28 kcal instead of 40. Protein will keep you satiated for longer as well as reducing your cravings
A sugar crash happens after a sugar spike. So trying to decrease that sugar spike will in turn help curb your cravings. A way to do this is to get active right after eating- it doesn't have to be intense, a 10-15 minute walk is enough or even doing leg lifts while you're sitting for 10 minutes
*Sometimes* I have water with 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar. Ideally it would be before every decent meal but it tastes bad so I dilute it a little bit more (1.5 cup water). "When taken before a high carb meal, vinegar slows the rate of stomach emptying and prevents large blood sugar spikes. It also improves insulin sensitivity, which helps your body move more glucose out of the bloodstream and into your cells, thus lowering blood sugar levels"
I wasn't sure if I should mention this since most people might already be doing it, but eating slowly and mindfully helps with it too. There's science behind it I promise XD
If you are prone to binging after a period of restriction, do not restrict!! You will only end up eating a lot more during a binge than you would if you ate 1-2 small meals during the day. My advice would be to plan your meals and follow through with it and trust me you will lose more weight than you have while b&p - ing
These are my tips to avoid binging, I hope they help you too 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Repost so others can find and benefit from it

my mom for some reason bought a whole spiral cut ham and so it's time for my favorite "low effort quick and easy healthy and delicious dinner with Lu, who just got off a 10 hour shift and is, perhaps, Hangry":
don't talk to me scramble
(so named because when I come home from work and am eating a late supper I want everyone to shut up and let me eat in peace)
YOU WILL NEED:
3 of the biggest eggs you've got - 4 if they're smaller than LargeTM
ham: deli cut works here but I literally just grabbed the spiral cut ham and ripped pieces off with my bare hands until I had a generous handful of Ham Bits (you can probably use whatever lunchmeat you have in your fridge for this tbh)
about like 3 tbsp of cream cheese?? Gordon Ramsay it babey
one(1) slice of pepper jack cheese or whatever kind you like
big handful of spinach (frozen works but I used a slightly wilted leftover salad since it needs eaten soon) or other vegetables of choice. bagged frozen stuff is great in eggs
optional carb (bread, tortilla, biscuits, et cetera)
LET'S CRACK THIS THING.
butter or oil in your pan. crack ya eggs. throw the Ham Bits in immediately or else they will be Cold. once eggs start to cook throw in your SpinchTM or ~vegetals of choice~ so that they'll wilt/heat up. this is the point where you want to toast your bread or heat a tortilla or whatnot, if you're into that kind of thing. once eggs are MOSTLY cooked, toss in your pepper jack and cheem creams and stir it all around until it's melted. it will probably look a bit watery — if this is a texture no-no I suggest making this in omelette form, bc yes, cream cheese is awesome in an omelette. serve with Optional Carb if you wis, or by itself, possibly eaten directly out of the pan you cooked it in. you are adulting so well. your tastebuds and your body think you're the coolest 👍 go forth full, happy, and proud of yourself
#I usually only eat two eggs for a meal like this but I barely ate anything all day so I was like. THREE eggys for me tonight >:)#ham and spinach proportions were adjusted accordingly#I also didn't have bread in the house. sadly :(#anyway :) finally home from work#Lu rambles#adulthood woes#adulthood wins#idk my family usually has the basic components of a very nice and easy egg skillet on hand so. here we are :)#recipes

Hi! Doomsday trio prompt- The Most Hated Breakfast Food. Not the best. The worst.
this is SUCH a good prompt and i didn't do it correctly :') here's what my brain did instead. at least it was breakfast themed?
part of the doomsday preparation drabbles
--------------------
Breakfasts Prepared in The Days Before Battle (aka how do you feed a young man, an immortal birdman, and a piglin in one meal?)
Day 1: Oatmeal and toast. A simple dish, but sincerely one of the most beautiful and put-together meals Dream has ever seen. He didn't expect them to feed him at all, much less prepare a bowl of well-arranged, colorful fruits in a vintage bowl. He stood in the kitchen, frozen. Eating in front of Techno and Phil might mean taking his mask off in front of them, and he was tempted to grab the food and eat in another room, like an anxious dog. He settled instead on tilting the mask up a bit. They saw his mouth, and they didn't make any indication that they even noticed. Techno had three bowls, Phil had one and a half, and Dream had one (he was too embarrassed to ask for more).
Day 2: Avocado toast with pico and eggs. Techno shyly admitted that they were trying to get through this loaf of bread before it went bad. Then, he went on some nonsensical ramble about how it was Dream's sacred mission to help them. "Forget the battle," he said, "we gotta get rid of this bread." Techno had four slices, Phil had two, and Dream had two.
Day 3: Omelettes and yogurt. There was something a bit comical about seeing Techno use silverware. His hands were too big for them, his shoulders hunched forward, and he used them so politely that you wouldn't expect him to be the most feared warrior this civilization has known. After breakfast, he absolutely dominated in a sparring session against Dream. Techno had two omelettes, Phil had half (but two bowls of yogurt. He was "in the mood for it."), and Dream had one.
Day 4: Breakfast sandwiches. Sausage, egg, and cheese, all in a biscuit-like bun. Dream nearly took his mask completely off at the table, and fumbled with the clip as he desperately tried to put it back on without showing more skin than he already has. Techno had his back turned as he was serving himself, thankfully, but Phil sat beside him. The old man didn't even look up from his plate, unbothered by Dream's dilemma. Techno had two sandwiches, Phil had one, Dream had one, and the dog whining softly under the table got two pieces of sausage from Dream's palm.
Day 5: Sausage soup. It was a piglin thing, apparently. Techno mentioned it and then grew quiet, enjoying the meal but never losing a distant, foggy look in his eyes. Dream watched, unable to think of a follow-up question. Between the three of them, he was not the only one with secrets. Techno had five bowls (the most Dream's ever seen him eat), Phil had one, and Dream had one.
Day 6: Pancakes and scrambled eggs. A classic breakfast. Phil seemed nervous about preparing the pancakes a way Dream would like, so he made them plain and provided a variety of toppings. Dream opted for a variety of fruit and the chocolate spread, but he said (with confidence) that he would've eaten whatever was prepared for him. Techno had four pancakes, Phil had two, and Dream had two.
Day 7: Bagels. Somewhere between preparations and trainings, Philza found time to pick up bagels. Dream found it odd to prioritize food with such a decisive battle on the horizon. He sat, he tilted his mask, he ate, and he talked to Techno about horses. Techno had two bagels, Phil had one, and Dream had one.
Day 8: Biscuits with Eggs. Or, as Techno called it, "Biscuit with guts." A poached egg was poured into a hole in the biscuit, making an interesting mix of textures and flavors. Dream wasn't the biggest fan of poached eggs, but true to his word, he ate whatever was served to him. Techno had four biscuits, Phil had two, and Dream had two.
Day 9: Creamy potato soup and sausages. Carbs and proteins for fuel. The battle loomed, and Dream was feeling anxious. He wasn't sure why; he wasn't afraid, per se, he was simply buzzing with energy that had no where to go (He wanted this to go perfectly). He asked Techno to spar with him again. He asked Phil for a refill of potato soup. "Remind me to get you the recipe, mate," Philza said, "If you can make mashed potatoes, you can make this. Good for travel, too." Dream replied stupidly with some comment about how much he liked potatoes. Techno had three bowls, Phil had one, and Dream lost count of how many times he made it while he traveled. Much later, he'd make it again within the prison walls, and he'd run to a nearby chest to vomit.
#lol sorry anon#i guess the 'worst' one would be the biscuits on day 8#tfw you say you'd eat whatever phil makes and then two days later he makes POACHED EGGS#no offense to british ppl but i don't fuck with ur eggs#dreblr#doomsdaytrio#doomsday trio#doomsday prep#drabbles

"Congratulations, Kelvin. This is something to celebrate." Kelvin's biscuits picked up a sog by the time he's found himself back at the table, pushing his carbs for the week around his plate, avoiding looking at Daddy and too keen-eyed for his own good Martin. Jesse yammers on about forgiveness while Amber sits eating peas by the single and Kelvin thinks about a year. About being common wed. About Intent. His intention had been to wait until he'd hit thirty and think about asking Jesse to ask Amber about setting him up with some saint of a woman Momma would love. They'd have kids, like Jesse did. He'd have his Gemstone Picture Perfect family and do one of those photoshoots where they all wear white or something. Except Kelvin's nearing his big milestone birthday and Keefe's been moved in for a year.
Kelvin stares at Martin and his placid expression, always the professional, always polite even when he's telling on the three of them to Daddy or informing Kelvin in the middle of Sunday Lunch that he's married.

The Bracket Has Been Made!
Hope my handwritings ok for this but a plain text list will be under the cut! The final count is 24, with a few of the previous contestants split up.
Hope the seedings ok, some had to be given a pass straight to second round due to the odd number of contestants.
Round 1 of the bracket will begin this Sunday, October 22nd! I'll keep polls up for 1 week at a time, and each new round will start the same Sunday the last round of polls ends.
If you have any questions throughout the poll of what goes where feel free to send an ask! Some things will simply always fall into the Schrodinger's food state, but as a general rule: things fall into the more specific categories before falling into the more broad ones.
I will be relogging Positive propaganda only, and it will be tagged as 'carb propaganda' if you do not wish to see it. Please remember this is for fun and I'd like to keep this positive! So I will be blocking anyone getting nasty.
With all that said,
Let the Games Begin! ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭*৴ ੈ✩‧˚♡*
The Final contestants are:

Day 8
Weight 281
I gained a couple pounds which sucks but I’m assuming it’s because I haven’t had a BM in a day or so. I’m hoping if I have one today or tomorrow it’ll regulate out but I’m kinda stressed out about it.
I added in some exercise today and burned 510 calories at the stationary bike under my desk so my app shows that my progress bars are lower than normal even though they’re why I’m usually eating.
Fasting for too long and doing OMAD was making me feel sick and sweaty so I’m doing two meals one around 10-11 AM and one around 7-8 PM to give a decent break in between them.
For breakfast I had my protein coffee, a 1/4 cup cottage cheese (I’m out now rip) and some strawberries
For dinner I had to eat out because I was going to MTG tonight with a friend so I got Popeyes (5 blackened tenders and the mashed potatoes are 390 cal; 46 protein; 20 carbs) and indulged in a biscuit because I had some leftover cal and carbs to fill
The food was really filling and even before coming back to the community I wasn’t a big fast food person and it’s made my stomach upset as I’m sitting here typing this but I needed food so what can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but anyway hope everyone’s having a good week

I was literally 1 lb away from hitting a new lw and Easter fucked it up for me. I didn’t even eat a lot but bc I don’t really eat carbs or dairy and we made biscuits and gravy for dinner (since half of the fam doesn’t like ham), I’m bloated and up 6 lbs…
I’m really hoping it’s just water weight but I’m still gonna go back to eating under 500 bc this is bullsh!t. Summer is only a few months away and I just wanna feel nice for myself and look nice for my bf 🥺

Wellness Wednesday:
Close Call...?
I went hamm on some "bean" burritos and thought I setback my weightloss by 6+ pounds - but - miraculously I somehow lost it all plus more.

Joel throwing the kid's body in the fire. Trivia - the first episode was supposed to end after this scene. executives urged them not to, as two children dying in one episode may not bring people back for the rest of the show.
Joel looking at the movie Sarah borrowed for him. Trivia - Curtis and Viper 2 is a nod to The Last of Us Part 2. During the gameplay, Ellie says she wants to watch this 'cheesy' movie with Joel.
A card on a desk which has a dinosaur with a party hat on it. Trivia - this drawing is another nod to the game - shows screenshot of same dinosaur card but in the game with dialogue, "Ah dang it. I forgot to give this to him."
Fungus spreading out. Trivia - the fungus in the opening credits takes the shape of the United States of America
Ellie staring at Joel after he beat the soldier to death. Trivia - Craig Mazin: When Ellie watches Joel beating a man to death, she is activated. She likes it. She likes the idea of somebody defending her like that. This is where you begin to see the problem but also the deliciousness of the pairing.
Marlene talking to Ellie. Trivia - Merle Dandridge plays Marlene in The Last of Us Part 1&2 in the video game. She is the only actress to reprise her role in the HBO series.
Sarah looking through the cupboard for food. Trivia - the fungus outbreak could be caused by contaminated flour. Our main characters avoid eating objects with flour: Sarah has no flour for pancakes so they make eggs. They refuse the biscuits while we see Nana eating one and then turning. Joel is on the Atkins diet similar to the keto with no carbs. Sarah doesn't take any cookies because of raisins. Joel forgot to get birthday cake. It just so happens the worlds largest flour mill is in Jakarta. It's where we first know the outbreak happens on the radio. End ID]

These Mozzarella Cheese Biscuits are a delightful low-carb alternative to traditional biscuits. They are made with shredded mozzarella cheese, almond flour, and seasonings, resulting in a cheesy, flavorful biscuit that is perfect for a keto-friendly diet.
Ingredients: 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 1 cup almond flour. 2 tablespoons cream cheese. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals until the cheeses are melted and well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the egg to the melted cheese mixture and stir until fully incorporated. Gradually add the almond flour mixture to the cheese mixture, stirring until a dough forms. Using your hands, shape the dough into small biscuit rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these delicious low-carb Mozzarella Cheese Biscuits as a satisfying snack or side dish!

Comfort Food: Biscuits are often associated with comfort and indulgence, providing a sense of familiarity and satisfaction when enjoyed as a treat or with a hot beverage.
Versatility: Biscuits can be enjoyed in various ways – as standalone snacks, accompaniments to tea or coffee, or as ingredients in desserts and baked goods.
Economical: Biscuits are generally affordable, making them accessible to a wide range of consumers and suitable for budget-conscious households.
Cons of Biscuits:
High in Sugar and Fat: Many commercially available biscuits are high in sugar, unhealthy fats, and calories, which can contribute to weight gain, diabetes, and other health issues when consumed excessively.
Low Nutritional Value: Most biscuits lack essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, providing empty calories without significant nutritional benefits.
Processed Ingredients: Biscuits often contain processed ingredients, additives, and preservatives to enhance flavor, texture, and shelf life, which may have negative health implications when consumed regularly.
Potential Allergens: Biscuits may contain common allergens such as gluten, nuts, dairy, and soy, posing a risk to individuals with food allergies or intolerances.
Portion Control Challenges: It can be easy to overconsume biscuits, especially when they’re packaged in individual servings or when eaten mindlessly as a snack.
Dental Health: Biscuits are often high in refined carbohydrates and sugars, which can contribute to tooth decay and dental problems when consumed frequently without proper oral hygiene.
In summary, while biscuits offer convenience, variety, and comfort, they should be enjoyed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. Opting for healthier biscuit options with less added sugar, unhealthy fats, and processed ingredients can help mitigate some of the cons associated with traditional biscuits.
Conclusion -:
In conclusion, biscuits are a popular and convenient snack enjoyed by many around the world. With their wide variety of flavors, textures, and types, biscuits offer versatility and appeal to diverse taste preferences. They provide a quick and easy snack option, perfect for on-the-go consumption or as a comforting treat.
However, it’s essential to approach biscuits with moderation and mindfulness due to their potential drawbacks. Many commercially available biscuits are high in sugar, unhealthy fats, and calories, lacking essential nutrients and providing empty calories. Additionally, biscuits may contain processed ingredients, additives, and potential allergens, posing health risks for some individuals.
To make the most of biscuits while minimizing their negative impacts, consumers can opt for healthier alternatives with less added sugar, unhealthy fats, and processed ingredients. Balancing biscuit consumption with a varied and nutrient-rich diet, practicing portion control, and maintaining good oral hygiene can help mitigate potential health risks associated with regular biscuit consumption.
