Oranada was actually a very well-respected kingdom, they had very close connections and often chose peace. That was all fine to you except the fact that when war broke out on that side of the land, a lockdown was immediately issued and the entire kingdom was closed off.  When said lockdown was placed, surrounding kingdoms were shocked to see that the entire time the king and queen had a son. Prince Yeonjun was a secret kept from the world. Apparently, the prince was only put under light to the public when the king and queen announced that their son was now a part of their kingdom’s decision-making. Immediately the day after he was found guilty of sentencing a man to the death penalty as his first rule. The news spiraled and thus Prince Yeonjun became the tyrant son of the once respected king and queen of Oranada. Oranada decided to close their borders before an official statement could be made. Since then the kingdom has been closed off, leaving the rest of the world to create buzz around it.

“Y/n! I beg your pardon?! I know very well that you know better than to lash out in such an unruly manner.” He spoke through his teeth, attempting to remain composed yet his voice was loud and stern. “Now sit down and you’re going to allow me to finish otherwise I will send you there without any previous knowledge.” As he was the king you had no choice but to sit down, at least not without an annoyed huff. “Apologies father… please continue.” You stared at the wooden floor beneath you, the red oak wood now the most interesting thing in the world to avoid your father’s intense stare. The king sighed as he continued. “As I was saying, you may have your thoughts on the situation, or on the prince, but I promise you that I won’t just let you marry anyone for any reason. Since your mother’s death.. I realize I am getting old. You’re my only child and I need you to realize that you’re old enough now to marry. I only want the best for this kingdom and I know you do too.” You looked up to see that his eyes had softened, voice now more your father’s than the king of your kingdom. “I’ve thought about this for a while, this is our only choice. I’ve actually been able to get into connection with the king and queen themselves, and they’d be absolutely delighted to have you over and introduce you both. So I will be sending you over in about a month and you will be spending the week with your fiancé.” Your eyes widened, not only had your father pulled strings to get into contact with a kingdom that was nearly impossible to get a hold of for the past ten years but the stage was set. You were now engaged and had no voice in the matter. The following month consisted of constant pleading and back and forth with you and the king. You understood it was your duty to find a proper suitor for not just you but your kingdom. Yet, it was so unlike your father to pull the rug from under you like this. Thus here you were, 10 minutes before your departure and you wanted nothing more than to just vomit rather than go on a day-long journey across the land. “Princess, please, I promise things will go fine! After all, once you return, you may have your mind changed.” Yuri said as she kneeled before you while adjusting the arrangements of your travel dress. You could laugh at her comment, you really could. “And you expect me to ignore the fact that I could be marrying a crazy man, a murderer even?” You sighed as you patted the spot next to you for Yuri to sit. Aside from your mother, Yuri had always taken care of you and now that the queen has passed she was the only motherly figure you had left. She was only a few years older but was mature and kind, she was an older sister to you. Running her fingers through your hair in an attempt to relax you, Yuri searched mentally for a proper response. There was no convincing you really, even she knew chances were slim that things would end well.

Suddenly, a knock on your bedroom door shook you from your thinking. “M’lady, are we ready for departure?” Your father’s assistant could be heard. He had been entrusted to accompany you and Yuri on your journey. “Yes! All prepared, we’ll be down in a second!” Yuri chirped as you both immediately stood to your feet. “Just look on the bright side, be positive and things will go your way, M’lady.” She smiled endearingly as you sighed in defeat. “After all, when have I ever been wrong?” You chuckled as she placed her hands on the wooden doors of your bedroom to open them for you. Was it too late to hide under the covers like you did as a child when it stormed? “Hmm, I could think of a few times.” You poked her side jokingly as she rolled her eyes. With uncertainty and fear, you tilted your chin high, and thus your journey to Oranada began.

- This dynamic would be a classic, a ray of sunshine and a ray of darkness. Except, I would say that no matter how upbeat you are, Yuri can bring you down.

- When you two first met, he was incredibly... rude. He saw how excitable you are, and his immediate reaction was to try to break that spirit by whatever means possible. Of course, he didn't do this just to be mean. He sees your kindness as a weakness.

- Yuri does not like weak people.

- But if you keep up that manic puppy energy despite his protests, he'll start to see it differently. Yes, you're overly caring, but you can't be brought down as easily as he's seen others fall.

- That's what got him interested at first. If you can withstand his incessant verbal abuses, then clearly you're stronger than he thought. So that gets him thinking, why? Now he's curious.

-  He wouldn't apologize for his past behaviour but would start trying to be nicer, at least. And as you warm up more to him, he warms up to you.

- Once he gets to know you, his attitude completely switches. Before, he would've smacked that dopey smile off your face in a heartbeat, but now, he'd do anything to protect it.

- If you ever got overly excited and broke anything, Yuri wouldn't be mad. He'll scold you like he would a child, but he's pretty excited to have something to fix.

- He does draw the line at indulging in your wild impulses. No, he won't take you nor let you go on a random cross-country road trip. That's how people get murdered, you know?

- Also, he'll always say no to buying you anything, but end up caving later. If you ask for a plushie, he'll tell you they're for children, but then you'll wake up to find that plushie in his place in bed.

- You make him soft. Not actually soft, but soft for Yuri.

- Because of that, you're not coming to anything that has people he knows. Then they'll see how... weak you make him! He has a reputation. Whenever you're in public, he immediately becomes very cruel and demanding because of this.

- He's a little embarrassed not just about how much control you have over him, but also because... you were never who he pictured spending his life with. He always wanted some traditional marriage with two depressed people who hate each other, but now he's HAPPY? Horrible.

- But you do make him feel young. Now he can't bear the thought of anything happening to you, so he's not gonna leave anytime soon.

my personal top five in no particular order, and like, ya gotta understand im still new here (hermitcraft/life series) so my opinions are poised to change, but the current standings are:

Bdubs/Etho/Cleo, i'll be honest, i haven't written or read any clethubs, but i saw some art of them that made my brain shortcircuit. they are femdom, himbo, and twink. i just think that Etho should have two people who are stronger than he is on either side of him at all times, bonus points if you let Cleo be the tallest. Bdubs being super clingy, Etho reluctantly tagging along, and Cleo making sure they don't fucking die because yeah they are god damn idiots sometimes, but they're her idiots. and she loves them. and probably gives them noogies and headlocks them.

Cleo/Etho, their marriage in limlife is so much fucking fun, especially when read under an aro4allo lens. Etho whose been happily married for over a decade watching his friends enter relationships and realizing that he loves differently, he doesn't even love remotely close to how they love, love isn't even the right word. hes scared so he leaves, hes not doing it right and his wife must be upset about it, that must be why everythings crumbling. and Cleo, not giving two shits, because that's her husband and by god they're gonna make it work if he can realize that being absent is whats breaking up their marriage, not showing affection and intimacy differently.

Gem/Etho, as a canadian i am legally obligated to ship this, as a lesbian i love it when men have chaotic gremlin girlfriends who put them in their place. see that one episode of hermicraft wherein Gem beats his ass on repeat and he keeps coming back for more. its like, like theres an unspoken solidarity, 'hey we're the same even though we're not' and they stick with each other. predator/prey dynamic if you go with deer Gem and fox Etho, you also get it with sea monster Gem and fox Etho, except he's the prey and she has the biological advantage instead. also, when paired with the transfemme Etho headcanon we get some yuri which im always down for.

Grian/Etho, this one came to via an Ao3 commenter and i have seen two pieces of fanart for it and like, seven fics. but i still think the dynamic of bird and fox would be fun to work with in writing depending on the bird Grian is hybridized with, especially if Grian is the smaller one. also in limlife??? hello?? Etho, swearing loyalty and promising to be someones sword is not heterosexual behaviour. what they had in limlife, even if brief, had me shaking i'll be real. also, for their hermitcraft dynamic, it'd be hot if i threw Scar into the mix, for flavour.

Pearl/Etho/Tango, consensual workplace relationships make me absolutely insane, it could tear apart their business or bring it further together. they have the kind of dynamic that makes my head absolutely fucking empty, one of those 'i just think theyre neat' kind of ships. the culture clash between each of their species and their own personal tastes, Tango's a blaze and they mate for life, Pearl's a siren and they don't do much for romance, Etho's a fox and they come and go- but they make it happen in spite of that. im working on getting them a canonized Ao3 tag right now, they have such a fun dynamic. also, they fucked in that post office when no one was looking.

tbh these are all really closely tied, and i also have a soft spot for tangtho and the team ties poly. they're all really fun ships, i just really enjoy polyships to be real with ya'll. and the life series and hermitcraft are full of so many possible polyships that its just making me foam at the fucking mouth. sorry boat boys enjoyers, the vision has not yet engulfed me, but hey im a multishipper it might be yet to happen.

music education major ! i absolutely love all things music, and my favorite artists/bands at the moment are muse, idkhow but they found me, will wood, aurora, ichiko aoba, joji, radiohead, fall out boy, panic! at the disco, twenty one pilots, and mother mother. i play piano, cello, soprano/bari uke, and sing. i also did harp for a year, and there's whatever shenanigans my major has me pick up (except fuck saxophone im sorry!!!)

i love dan and phil ! i guess you could call them my main/special interest and i've been watching since 2016. i saw interactive introverts in 2018 and went to both texas shows for terrible influence :P

minor interests include house md, glee, yuri on ice, helluva boss, dungeon meshi, death note, and other media that may come and go on this blog. i like to draw and write but i'm not really confident enough to post much of that, but i enjoy seeing other art/fic so i reblog a bit of that :P

Why I like them/why I don’t: i was doomed from the minute he walked on screen and started making his smug little faces lookin like a damn Dana OC and sounding like what if Taako from TAZ wanted to hurt you so bad. i was cooked. he's so danabait it's unreal. He's just such an awful manipulative theatrical little freaklet with a nasty deck full of ugly ass sticky plants (slash pos 💚) but if i think too long about him my tummy starts hurting real real bad. I said it when I talked about sora but Character Raised to Be a Weapon always makes me explode and just like. Dwelling on Yuri's Upbringing Was Potentially Like inflicts ten thousand agonies upon me. there is a gaping maw of loneliness back there. im putting him in a jar and shaking it really hard. i love him. im not making it out alive from his duel links event

What I like about their appearance: i LOVE how expressive he is!!! it's integral to me that all 4 yuboys have a dash of the 'sometimes very silly and expressive' gene in there and i love that yuri's no exception. he's so cute sometimes. so sue me.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names?: p much same in both, huh? Joeri is a bonkers ass name I have to respect it but im a Yuri truther through and through. characters who are eastern european in my brain

OTP: SIGHS THROUGH MY TEETH. AGAIN. not beating the yaoi warrior allegations but denyuri bit me so bad. yuri is my problematic aro representation and thinking too much about the intricacies of whatever 'bond' he has with this loser who's in love with him makes a bomb strapped to me go off. postcanon denyuri feels like eating glass i will continue to chew on it <3

NOTP: i already talked about not being too big on yuri/yugo romantically but also. my god. im so sorry but yuri/celina is just such absolute comphet cardboard to me. it shouldnt boggle my brain that it's as popular as it is but i feel like a fucking space alien looking at it. these characters have interesting potential in their dynamic but be so fr with me celina is not dating a boy.

OT3: dont really have one for him. platonically i love the yuboys as family though ;__;

Favourite card they use: i do like starving venom in all its nasty wing mouthed glory but i think the card that he uses that makes me most insane is that goddamn predaplant tuner, Banksiogre. the fucked up pinecone with yugo's eyes. YEAH I'LL BE NORMAL ABOUT THAT SURE!!!!

Favourite moment they were in: god so many little moments especially in season 3, his crazy ass dub AND sub voice acting when he beats alexis, the moments right before he absorbs yugo. "i dont recall asking for forgiveness 🙄" but i gotta go with my heart. episode 135 smashed me into the fucking pavement with this kid's insane expressions. LA CUCARACHA

Least favourite moment: literally what the fuck was that in the last episode where he smiles at celina's Ghost in Zuzu. THEY HAVE BARELY INTERACTED ALL SERIES. BE SO FOR REAL WITH MEEEEEE
