How are you adjusting to the whole Norse mythology situation?

LEO: I’ve mostly been bugging some of the older einherjar, and Hunding, a little bit, to figure this place out. Do you know how cool it is that some people have been here since the industrial revolution?? There's no way that I'm the first of my dad's kids to make it here. I guess it's not that hard since he's not an (active) overthinker and I have drawn him saying things he considers neutral that seem rude to others...I guess I have to find a way to show the opposite, too

I did not draw Re:Kinder enough (said both sarcastically and genuinely, because while I know the statement is ridiculous I also do believe it www), so I chose to challenge myself. I will post these every 5 days to not clog the tag too much.

Beacon lore from way back: the first time Caduceus looked into the beacon, he asked if it felt uncomfortable and Matt replied that "it doesn't feel unnatural. It feels like a view behind the curtain."

Pretty interesting that that's the feeling of Caduceus, arguably the most divinely connected person of any of the campaigns and the one who serves the Wild Mother, who is herself most connected to Exandria of all the gods.

Obviously it's pushing a bit to say that the Wild Mother feels ok with the beacons because Cad does, but if she'd disliked it then I think he definitely would have picked up on that.

On top of that, the "peak behind the curtains" description is crazy interesting. Curtains of what? I assume that Cad would think that it's a peak behind divinity, but that's such an inexact phrase!

Is it the curtains of divinity? Which would mean that the beacons are tied to the gods either through shared origin or shared power. Power enough that it can see beyond what the gods hide, but not enough that it discomforts the gods.

Or is it the curtains of creation? The gods came to already-created Exandria and made life. It seems from Ashton's most recent vision that the Titans made or were at least significant to the creation of the physical object Exandria, considering they were a sort of vessel through which Exandria gave it's "the earth abides" message.

If they're not connected to the gods, could the beacons have some connection to the Titans? I doubt it, because Aeor had a beacon (probably), and yet the Titans were still hanging around getting ready to cause trouble when Avalir fell. If Aeor had a beacon and were studying it to develop the things like the purple gems... But, then again, Aeor was not known for making wise decisions about where they got their secret, scary projects from. If the beacons are connected to the Titans in some way, Aeor would be all up in that. Make an enemy of the gods, make an enemy of the Titans, make an enemy of everyone!

If not the Titans and not the gods, it could be that the beacons are connected to what made everything, before there was an Exandria for the Titans and the gods, what was there? The Luxon?

"Behind the curtain" also lends credence to another theory I've seen going around that the Luxon as a whole is a meta-narrative, self-insert sort of structure for the game itself. Peak behind the curtains, peak behind the screen.

Ugh, too many theories, not enough information! But the fact that the gods view the beacon as a non-threat null-entity is really interesting. They have some knowledge of it but don't seem bothered with it, even though the beacons are sources of great potential and power.

Conflicted about something (actually has been on my mind for a long time, it's just never been brought up), but like. I do like portraying Moe with self-harm scars. I like to treat the scars the same way I treat its acne/the scarring that comes from that. Just like, a candid portrayal of Well, that's just how it looks. Because of this, I also don't like the idea that self-harm scars should always be trigger-tagged. Kind of gets into the idea of what bodies should be "censored", and like, man, sometimes people just look like that...

But I also do wanna be mindful... I wonder if the rule of thumb should be, if the self-harm is the focus of the piece? Then you should probably tag it? But then that kind of gets ambiguous fast like. Usually I color Moe's scars to be pink/faded. So even when they are visible, they don't jump out at you really. But this recent piece I wanted to emphasize the scarring. Is it emphasized enough to warrant a tag...? But the piece really isn't focused on that. It makes up part of the storytelling/theming of the piece, but also does sort of fall into the category of "Well Moe just looks like that".

Appreciation post for 'girly girl' characters and/or shows that celebrate traditionally feminine things that girls and women are shamed for.

Characters on this list that love makeup, fashion, hair, etc. Characters that are still written as strong, intelligent, brave, etc. That told young girls that these interests are valid, they are not lesser interests. Being feminine and liking traditionally feminine things does not make them weak.

I don't think it's okay to use nightow's artwork to make yourself some money selling stickers of it.

While funny edits and memes of official content are commonly made and sold by creators and I understand it is a topic of debate for many reasons, as I say in the post and on the page, it isn't about the money and I think I'd have to sell hundreds to even make much profit! I did a lot of calculations and the price is close to the supplies/costs/the size of the small print run/etc., and while I'm not the best at math, the cents leftover per sticker aren't adding up to much and--again, like I said in the post--will be spent getting leftovers in case of errors if it's enough. If someone chooses to leave a tip for running bookclub, I'm grateful, but a vast majority of people don't and that's fine and what I expect. The point is having fun and celebrating bookclub! The amount of people who wanted a sticker/badge of completion was enough that I really wanted to do something for you guys.

TL;DR: As I said in the original post, this was designed for fun, not money. Transparency is personally very important to me and I try to be as honest as I can whenever possible. Of course, I'm a stranger on the internet, you should take that with a grain of salt, but I do try to be clear about my intentions.
