The Xiangshui Department

The Xiangshui Department of Lanying are known throughout the nation as both a physical and legal force of nature. Though they may answer to the Government, they have the ability to ignore direct commands in the interest of the nation as a whole.

There are five heads of the department known for their various skillsets and specific prowess. Lauded as heroes by the people, the Xiangshui Department must keep up their absolute protection of the nation, often whilst considering the ongoing cost.

As the darkness around descends, the Xiangshui Department remains the strongest line of defence. Should they fall, the nation would find itself at crisis.

Sun-Heimdall Hien / 阳 關余 (Yang Guan Yu)

Age: 26

Pronouns: He/Him

Birthday: December 8th

Titles: Commander Yang, Sir Yang, Sector C Commander.

"Once a sickly child, Hien now leads the nation's border protection services as his duty at the Xiangshui Department. Born to parents not from the nation, he was expected to uphold their once forgotten legacy, and bestowed with a name more reflective of their goals. Though far from human, Hien's immortality is one of many bonuses."

廖 静 (Liao Jing)

Age: 23

Pronouns: She/Her

Birthday: March 4th

Titles: Commander Liao, Sir Liao, Sector B Commander.

"Jing was born to a felisine mother and a mortal father, granting her characteristics of both. She's quick on her feet and able to spot even the most minute of details. As such, she's in charge of the Infrastructural Security section of the Xiangshui Department, providing support to local agencies in times of chaos."

王 玫麗 (Wang Mei Li)

Age: 25

Pronouns: She/It

Birthday: February 8th

Titles: Commander Wang, Sir Wang, Sector D Commander.

"Mei Li was born to well to do parents, but they could not account for her innate chloromancy and almost supernatural social skills. Both of which drew the attention of the Xiangshui Department. Now she leads their legal team, her knowledge of the law is unmatched within the department."

周 浩宇 (Zhou Hàoyú)

Age: 26

Pronouns: He/She

Birthday: October 14th

Titles: Commander Zhou, Sir Zhou, Sector E Commander.

"Hàoyú was a tough child to raise, almost solely known for getting into fights that he almost always won. It was his fighter's spirit that brought him into the academy, and it's her fighter's spirit that has brought her in control of the Xiangshui Department's Environmental Security. A means to cool her down, the Captain says."

謝 映月 (Xie Ying Yue)

Age: 31

Pronouns: He/Him

Birthday: May 2nd

Titles: Captain Xie, Sir Xie, Sector A Commander.

"The head of the Xiangshui Department, Ying Yue oversees all the departments as well as being the direct link for the overarching government. Once a general in the army, he's now overseeing the Physical Security of the nation from the back lines. He's reliable and quick to respond. The Xiangshui Department are all handpicked by him."

Shang Qinghua: This is Wei Ying, he is my new son. Also if the Jiang clan asks about me, pretend you don't know me

Shen Qingqiu: Should I even ask?

Shang Qinghua: They were abusing him! If they are going to mistreat him then they don't deserve him!

Yue Qingyuan, sighing: Fine then

Shang Qinghua: When we get home I will introduce you to A-Yao, your new big brother

Wei Ying, tearing up: What about shijie and chengcheng?

Shang Qinghua: Fine, I'll kidnap them too

Yue Qingyuan: Shidi, please!

Ying Jiao Yue (Finale):

After one long journey, she finally accepts her senri demon spirit. In the end, she finally settles with Six-Eared Macaque and Mystic Mayor. Though they bicker a lot, she says to herself that she could get used to this any way.

Inktober Day 4 - Dodge

Ying Yue took a step back, easily avoiding the blow of the blade with a sort of grace only granted  to those well practised. Tired mismatched eyes watched his opponent adjust the sword within his grip, the other, younger man, swinging the blade seamlessly once more. The captain hummed as he didn’t even need to parry to avoid, leaving his own blade at the ready at all times.

“You need to follow through, Guan Yu.” 

Bright orange eyes narrowed, the cross pupils constricting tightly. He was quick on his feet, but Ying Yue was quicker, putting his leg out to trip his commander. “Hien..” The older man watched as Hien stumbled forward, barely catching himself. The captain shook his head, arms crossing over his chest, sword held loosely.

“I’m doing my best, Captain Xie.” 

“Are you?”

Hien’s grip tightened on his sword as he straightened out, turning to look at his captain. For a moment, they stared at one another. As if trying to get the other to say something first. But it was Hien who broke. “I just need a break.” The younger man lowered his arm, shaking his head as he turned his back on Ying Yue. 

His blade whipped out, partying the captain's sword thrust. Hien turned quickly, fending off the attack and closing any distance between them. Ying Yue retracted his sword but not before the young man used his fist instead, there was no need for a sharp blade when he had speed and wit accounting for him.

Ying Yue pressed his hand to his nose as blood dripped down his face. The captain chuckled quietly and slowly until it turned into a hearty laugh. "Well done, Hien." The captain sheathed his sword, pulling his handkerchief out to press against his bleeding nose. Hien blinked a few times, worried as he sheathed his sword, too.

"Let me see that." The man took his captain's face into his hands. Ying Yue rolled his eyes, looking away, he lowered his hand to show the man the injury. Hien furrowed his eyebrows, he brought his hands up. "Breathe in." He instructed and Ying Yue did as told. Hien cracked the man's nose. Ying Yue exhaled loudly, mismatched eyes wide as pain flourished through his face. 

"All done!"

"Thank you, Guan Yu. Unnecessary, however."

Hien took a step back, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "Faster to heal if it's properly in place. I will be retiring for the evening, Captain Xie." Hien bowed his head slightly, once more turning away. This time, however, he was able to leave the training room without another word.

Yay, Snake-man and snake-woman. 🤩 When I saw Xue She, I immediately understood. He must meet Whiparella. First of all, they are the only snake-people I know. Secondly, Whiparella is the mistress of fears, with the help of her magic whips she can find out your deepest fears. However, her character is rather soft, shy, and she is a bit insecure about herself. A sweet snake-woman who would most likely flinch if the snake-man offered her blood and meat as food.
