Drake Siblings

Have I read this prompt somewhere or was this a fever dream from my bored mind.

What if, now hear me out.

What if we bring up Dana Winters-Drake (whose confirmed to at least be alive in the DC verse but no one knows where she actually is)

What if instead of when she had a mental breakdown and getting committed to an Bludhaven clinc she wandered away before anyone noticed and by the time Tim or anyone did notice a lot of stuff started happening at once in both Gotham and Bludhaven (Steph dying, The Bludhaven crisis, etc etc)

Tim still tries to find her though but even with best resources it was like she just disappeared into the wilderness and the stress of trying to handle more and more problems get worse.

So when out of the blue, a couple of years later, he gets a call from an unknown number. On his private, only for friends and family, phone and when he answers he meet with a young girls voice on the other end.

A very young, maybe six or seven, girl who informs him about his apparently half-brother Danny Drake-Fenton. And how she loves Danny so, so, so much but knows her home is dangerous for him to be in.

Tim is stunned and before he could question her, she says Danny is Dana and Jack's baby and that her parents had adopted him years ago and put Dana's stuff that the hospital had away for him to look at when he was older but she just had to fight off their lunch from eating her brother and she knows he needs a better place to live and so she snooped around and found Dana's diary and that she had to unscramble the nonsense Dana wrote and found Tim's number with the words 'tell him about his brother Danny' hidden in it. And-

But before she could keep rambling she hears Danny screaming "JAZZY THE MILK WENT BAD AGAIN AND HISSED AT ME!"

Tim is left with silence after hearing Jazz yell to Danny to lock the fridge and step out of the kitchen as she gets the bat.

relatedly today the british coworker i have an only maybe disproportionate grudge against learned which six flags are the six flags and as the rest of my labmates groaned in horror he was like "well... it's part of the history though" and like. listen. i know you haven't lived in the US before. but when the room universally reacts in horror at something they think is racist possibly you should ask any questions you may have about it in "question" rather than "immediate defense of the confederate flag" format

#other grudges i have against this guy is that he is one of the people who was #PRETTY CONDESCENDING about questioning the basic premise of my project during his interview. on a topic he'd never heard of before #because in fact he was failing to conceptualize one of the basic mechanisms by which cell biology operates #then we hired him anyway. which i slightly resent.#and now he's spent the last several months proposing experiments that overlap immensely with another grad student's project #using the extremely difficult method she spent like two years painstakingly developing #without actually talking to her‚ telling her he was doing this‚ paying attention to what she says should and shouldn't work‚#or asking permission to use her unpublished results for his own stuff.#also he and his friend tried to go to the nyc tr/mp rally 'as a bit' to 'experience something very american'#and failed to get in due to overbooking but after he came back explained that actually no one in the line was racist to him! ppl were polit #and there were jews there! and other asians!#and i had to be like. yes. it's actually occurred to the right that token minorities and not reflexively beating the shit out of people the #think are acting as useful stooges is a good move. you're not blowing my mind by revealing my biases are unfounded right now #you just sound like an idiot.

True confidence in your dog being a pushover is pissing them off until they snarl at you, then continuing to piss them off while kissing the snarl, inches from sharp teeth that could end you.

I enjoy making Riley angry and daring her to bite me.

As a puppy, when she WAS very bitey, I'd poke her cheek into her teeth so if she bit at my finger she got her own cheek first. She would pretend to gnaw on my finger and snarl really viciously but really she was lightly gumming her own cheek.

#Riley forgets herself sometimes and has bitten people pretty severely on accident #Like she over-reaches for a treat in your hand and bites your fingers or jumps at you while you're going to her and collides #never intentional always accidental #but i think everyone has a scar from her #she nearly bit the end of my finger off going for a treat- her tooth went through the nail #but i still piss her off #now when you give her a treat you go 'gently riley' and she will soften her stance and still snap at it quickly #but mostly with her lips and not teeth #once she jumped up to hug my mother while my mother was bending down to hug her #and my mom ended up with a black eye from where Riley 'punched' her #which at first hurt and i was empathetic i promise #but it became HYSTERICAL when we tried to eat out and realized EVERYONE who saw her thought my father punched her #and when my mother bruises it lasts for over a month #so my father refused to eat out with us after a while because he was tired of being glared at #and 'our dog did it' just sounds like a bad lie #i suggested she get a shirt with that on it #back then she worked at a high school as a secretary and the police officer stationed in the school took her aside #and was like doing the 'this is a safe space. even for adults. you can tell me if there are problems at home.' trying to help her #and she had to explain to him 3 times it was the dog; then called me to explain; then i came over at dismissal with riley #and he met her and she tried to hug him and he understood finally #my dad is now able to laugh about this #riley

#i have to move back to my hometown due to a mistake. a misunderstanding. and being too trusting in others ideas #and my boyfriend is moving an hour away as well. neither of us have been able to get a car or license yet due to money and i dont know when #we can see eachother again after we both move. since we started dating weve been sleeping in the same bed because we were/are roommates #just being gone for the weekend in my hometown is hard because i cant stand to be here but its worse because hes not in my bed every night #ive grown so used to falling alseep in his arms that i dont know what to do at night. i dont feel safe without his arms holding me #ive never felt safe where ive lived before. ive never felt safe in a relationship. ive never felt loved for who i am. that was until him.#now i feel safe in our home. i feel safe in our relationship. i feel loved for who i am. and now we have to be so far apart.#ive done long distance before but this is going to hurt so much my cat loves him she is super cautious and scared around new people but #she loved him since the start. not to mention shes my esa so that really mattered to me. he wants to move with me but it isnt happening #he got definite housing an hour away for super cheap in a town where he knows everyone and i have possible in a town where im surrounded by #people i know but am terrified of. im scared to move back here but have no choice. unless i make that terrifying choice of going with him.#the apartment he is getting is a two bedroom. id only have a studio. hes offered for me to come but im scared to move that far away again #i want to be with him but im scared to move to a whole new town with him. i know hes an amazing guy but we'd be moving away from my friends #and family. i already have to move away from all my friends if i go back to my hometown but this would be a different story.#moving to a whole new town with a guy that i only started dating 2 months ago? like yes. i lived with him previously and knew him for longer #than we dated but im still scared. i think rightfully so. but still.#but there are some pros to moving with him. hometown has no music scene and his town does and thats really important to me.#we'd also be close to his family. but farther from mine. hed be around friends and id have none no matter where i go.#idk im just rambling but i really needed to vent. i lost my best friend recently to the point of them siding with strangers almost and they #helped them break and enter into the house to intimidate me and bf and then a few days later came with cops after saying repeatedly that #they were an anarchist and acab but only when they dont use them apparently. because i guess morals/values only matter when its convenient #im so tired though but i cant sleep so i might write some cringe poetry and try to chill out before going on a late night/early morning walk #tag vent #vent in tags

ever since my nephew was born my parents(who have been divorced since like 2013 and separated since 2011) have had this weird codependent relationship where, since my nephew and his mother/my sister live at my mom’s house, on the weekends my dad will literally wake up and immediately drive to my mom’s house and stay there until like 11pm, and on weekdays he will go straight to her house when he leaves work and also stay there until at least 10pm. and he also buys all her groceries for her and does all of her household maintenance type tasks like mowing her lawn and changing her lightbulbs and taking her trash out, while neglecting similar tasks at his own house, and it’s like to the point where multiple people have asked my siblings if they’re together/getting back together, but they most definitely are not, it’s something weirder than that. but anyway yesterday he took her furniture shopping because her couch broke and apparently the guy at the consignment store, after hearing all about their grandson, made some innocent comment that implied they were married, and my mom got really offended and snapped at him that they are NOT married, and my dad was just like Well we used to be…

#they’ve been divorced so long that she’s had a whole other 6-year marriage and divorce since then. like it’s SO weird #and of course my nephew was born while i was in california so it’s like. when i moved we’d see her maybe once or twice a month #and then i came back and he’s spending every waking moment of his life over there #and the grocery thing in particular is ironic to me because i moved in with my dad full-time when i was 18 #after i adopted my dog robyn because she didn’t want my dog robyn in her house #and despite KNOWING i moved out because of my dog robyn. and her being the one who didn’t want robyn in her house #i found out from my siblings that she was telling everybody i moved out because. and i quote.#‘my dad buys me whatever food i want at the grocery store.’#which is just like pretty much the craziest fake reason for your daughter to move out you can possibly make up. but anyway!

Trigger warning for mention of animal death (euthanasia)

:( Said goodbye to my 19 year old cat Lola today, the vet who came by my house (well, my mom's house, where I was this morning to see her one final time) to perform the euthanasia was very kind, and she passed very peacefully all things considered. Still, it's never easy saying goodbye to a pet, especially one I've known since I was 5, and well I guess I just wanted to share some pictures of her with you folk, partially just for my own sake, but also cause she really was an incredibly sweet and lovely cat and I'd just like to share what I can of her with you guys.
