I hope all the young people in law school or with plans to get into politics are watching how the judicial and political institutions of America are absolutely failing to stop christofascists and insurrectionists from abusing and subverting them.

I hope these young people will work to change or replace these institutions in order to stop and prevent this subversion from happening ever again. I hope they do what the current aging politicians are too cowardly, blind, or complicit to do.

I started reading Fear Itself: The Causes and Consequences of Fear in America by a team who has done a broad survey of fears in the US since like 2016 and I'm very early into the book (though it's not long) and it is already WILD seeing some of their findings—iirc you can see a lot of the raw data online for the study, but I'd used some of their data as a citation last quarter and even just the introduction is WILD to me.

Right now Putin isn't interested in negotiation – just surrender or crippling concessions from Ukraine. Sadly, the only way to end the war is to raise the price for Russia continuing it.

And the only way to push back against Russia is to continue the flow of Western aid – a plurality of it coming from the US.

A vote for Trump or for Congressional Republicans is a vote for Russia.

Liberal democracy cannot survive in the US if it is under assault around the world. Voting Democratic helps protect both.
