I wish this #oldphoto was in #betterquality because it was definitely one of my #betternights and a #funnight with #goodpeople and #goodfriends during #bettertimes 💔 And honestly, I felt #young #sexy and #hot and #guiltfree in the jeans and #punk style I was pulling off to the left 😂😜😆 Now I sit here and make thinly veiled #depression post because I feel so #clueless about myself and who I'm supposed to be at this point in my life. (Don't we all sometimes feel that way?? 😂😂) Which at #21 might be understandable and may be hard to take #serious but there's a melancholy moment in it, at least for me, from being on #antidepressants for almost a #decade now. 💙😇💜 #mentalhealth affects #everyone no matter the #demographics or #resources a person may be born with or work towards. It's #ironically one or the few things that #doesntdiscriminate yet there is still such a need to #endthestigma 🎭 #Media aside, anyone reading this, I hope for you to be #kinder to yourself and others more because we all need it and there's already enough #pain and #lonliness and so much known and unknown #suffering in this world. Also to anyone who may need it, please if you are in crisis, reach out to someone. Whether it's a trusted friend or parent or even a hot line or stranger like me. I know I've posted this in the past, but it's honestly one of my #favorite photos that I've ever taken. It captures such #simplicity in this #perfectmoment and I'm happy that it's #preserved for me. All of the #feelings and #thoughts and the moment of #selfreflection summed up here in a single #snapshot that I keep visiting far too often. Past the times of who I was with or what I was going through in life when I took this, it's the #symbolism that gets me every time. #Lilies are known to represent many things, primarily #innocence #death and #mourning and occasionally #weddings of course. Again and again I find myself asking the same #questions but unable to see the #answers 🎭 What I have #discovered though is that my only #connection to #humanity is either through #animals and #helpingothers or the symbolism I find in #tv or #books and oh so especially #music ❤ Otherwise, this waterlily #echoes through a #numb yet #chaotic #past I feel less and less tied to. So I'll hold on to my own #lifelines because #words will never be enough.

I may not have the best #legs, but I do have a #story to tell with this picture ... Ever since #puberty kicked in 10 years ago, and with other indicators since I was born 👶#premature at 6 months mind you👶 I've had a severe #heatintolerance even to the point of being at risk and in #danger of #anaphylaxis and #overheating and even #heatstroke from being in things like warm environments for more than a few moments, out in the #sun for too long and even #exercise purely because my #body has a inability to #cooldown And yes, I do mean regular exercise like #running or #cycling 💔 This picture is from when I was wearing jeans in my car and just driving with the window down and the sun hitting my leg for about 10 minutes. (Obviously I changed into cropped-out shorts when I got home 😛) During that time I started to break out in #hives on the one leg as you can see, which my #doctor told me was part an #allergy called #heaturticaria which for me, also includes being at risk of #exerciseinducedanaphylaxis Now, obviously this is a rare defect that I live with, but it does impact my #dailylife especially since I live in #florida 😥 I'm writing this post because I know I'm not the only one having to adapt to this kind of issue and I want other to know they are #notalone and that a normal, albeit somewhat different life can be lived just fine. For me, antihistamines have helped treat the hives a bit at least, as to delay their onset, but I still #suffer if I stay warm for too long, especially during these #sunny #summer days. Now I'm not sure if it just affects me as a super #prematurebaby or whether #genetics have also compounded this, but let's just say the #healthanxiety is real 😨😷 Just hoping that anyone else who has to live with this knows to #staystrong because there are still plenty of wonderful reasons to #live 💛💛 (at South Tampa, Florida)

The last time I ever felt happy to be myself. With just a bit of make-up and confidence, it was like I was back on track to who I was supposed to be. A reminder framed in this moment that I could still be okay. That what I've gone through won't define me or leave me broken, that I still have a purpose and a good life to work towards. That I matter, won't always be alone, and that everything will turn out okay. I knew then and now life isn't easy or perfect, but back then I still had hope. That was 2 years ago. Now... now I'm more alone and isolated than ever. Day in and day out, it's the same. Fairweather friends pontificate platitudes and never seem to have time unless it's to their benefit. Others wind up dead because no matter the posts, the calls for helps, the red flags and things that shouldn't have been ignored... they wind up dead by their own hand. And all I see are how people spout false pity but never show true concern over those who have died or are at risk. Nobody wants to be a statistic. Even trying to reach out for help to the "proper" channels can leave those in need locked up, degraded, and treated as criminals simply for not being okay and being unable to click back into a healthier mindset and lifestyle. Irrational as suicide may seem to be, it's a call that never fully goes away for a long time, if ever for some people. It's also one I wish nobody had to hear again, because when your life is in shambles and your own mind turns against you.... well, I wouldn't say that anyone who has been there is weak. There have been a plethora of good and bad people impacted by mental illness, but the conversations and medications still aren't treating the root issues, just the symptoms. It takes everything not to break when your mind throws every flaw, mistake and problem back at you, with just the right words so you can't shake it off. It pushes and pushes until you've been backed into a corner, unable to breathe and crying with your head in your hands wondering what you did to suffer like this. It creates suspicion or doubt among every interaction, deceit when you look in the mirror, and a constant inner battle that leaves you in a mix of anger, hopelessness, despair, exhaustion and confusion. It's blasting music at 3 AM because no one is really listening and you can't stand the silence anymore. It's the feeling of wanting to ask for help but "knowing" you don't deserve it or will get it, that you're weak for not being able to push through. It keeps you gagged and isolated until it's lies break you. Or until something changes. What I wish for is for people to change. To not be so selfish and ignorant, so that we can all remember that we're all human and it doesn't have to be like this. That we can be better both together and alone, but we have to be ready to help and ask for help.

Best part about my week was seeing the Backstreet Boys on trending number 3 in the US earlier this week. 👏👏 In between all the bullshit and disasters, at least I can take small comfort in knowing my boyband from the 90's can still make good music 😎😆😂😊
