DPXDC Idea: Mother of Monsters Dan(yal)

Specifically Fem!Dan because I made this in mind with my Fem Danyal Au bUT. The best part about Dan is that I get to play dress up with her, and Fem Dark Dany is gonna go by Layal (pronounced lae-el) because it means "the nights" and it sounds similar to Danyal, and I think she'd choose that name to mock Dany. ANYWAYS

Mother of Monsters Danyal. She may be evil but she's an Al Ghul at her core (even with vlad's soul merged with hers - however, considering that Layal looks and sounds like Dany, she considers that soul to be the more dominant one.) and loves animals. And she might be heartless, but she adores the monsters of the infinite realms.

Mother of Monsters Layal who hates everyone but utterly dotes and adores on every manner of beast she comes across. Stealing the eggs and infant young beasts of the Infinite Realms to raise as her own because she wanted them. Her own island full of monsters, a monstrous menagerie of her own. She steals most often from poachers or exotic pet keepers and other menageries -- the full grown beasties can keep their young.

And with every monster she raises, she can shapeshift their features onto herself, allowing her to change her shape from humanish to any matter of monster or hybrid creature. She calls herself their mother, and them her children. Her precious little babies, capable of incredible mass destruction and mayhem.

From little griffins the size of kittens, to stymphalian vulture chicks, and leviathan young hatching from eggs the size of her pinkie, to creatures native of the ghost zone that didn't even have names in the living realm. There really wasn't a limit to what or who she would take in and she didn't limit herself to any form of mythology. If they were beasts and they were unwanted, she wanted them. And as such, amassed her own mini army of "children" willing to listen to her any command.

Earth doesn't know what hit it when she attacks them.

There are many monstrous forms she could take on, the first one I've thought of is a combination of various serpentine/reptilian features. The body of a naga -- her lower half long and serpentine, her upper still human -- with spiked fins connecting from the bottom of her arms to her sides, ever seen Sinbad where Eris goes "you might have seen my likeness on the temple walls" and her arms do that fin thingy? Same concept. Her hands are webbed and taloned, perfect for slicing through the skin of the living, and her teeth are needle-sharp and shark like. Her hair can either be spiny and feathery-like like the spines of a lionfish, or frilled like a frilled-neck lizard. It's perfect for dealing and doting on her reptilian and amphibian-inclined darlings.

I'm more of a fan of aus where Dan is a sibling of Danny's rather than their kid, so Layal's redemption(..?? probation?) proceeds with her legally becoming Danyal's "twin" sister, who had been lost to the foster system before the Fentons adopted Dany, and was only recently reunited with her. The two of them look so alike that the lie is easy to take root and spread.

Layal is very indignant to the fact that she's now ten years in the past and has to restart her menagerie all over again. Do you know how much blood and sweat went into raising those children? How dare you separate them from their mummy. Although she'll admit she does miss their juvenile years, so she won't mind (too much) needing to raising them again. Dany is helping her retrieve all of them though, dammit.

long story short: epic the musical's "Scylla" has a CHOKEHOLD on me and this is the result of it

Unlike her Dan counterpart, Layal's voice is dancing and sirenic. It's purposely alluring and motherly, in order to lure people into a false sense of security until she feeds them to her "children." Echidna doesn't have shit on her. She almost seems friendly and reasonable, until you get too close and realize it was all an act and she drops it to metaphorically swallow you whole. She's like an anglerfish that way. She and Dany both sound like Scylla from Epic.

tbh i feel like i don't understand jiggy very well but here is my reasoning nonetheless:

i see jiggy as someone who wants to be a hero; or rather, someone who wanted to be a hero, before society destroyed his dreams and he was forced to dirty his hands. he had legitimate wishes to improve society and a vision for what society should look like. but jiggy has also spent his entire life getting dunked on by others for being the son of a prostitute. no one ever saw beyond his circumstances.

until lan xichen and nie mingjue, the first people to genuinely believe in him and give him a chance. both also people who are (or appear to be) morally righteous.

that must have meant the world to jiggy. the confirmation, from two deeply admired and socially respected people, that he too--even him the son of a prostitute, him who the rest of society disdained--could be a hero.

jiggy saved lan xichen when the latter was on the run from the wen, and jiggy also saved qin su. and both people come to admire him and stand by his side as a result.

personally, i also see jiggy and nie mingjue's falling-out as being based in this. the reason why jiggy kept nie mingjue's head in his secret room wasn't just as a failsafe, but rather because jiggy also carried a grudge.

because through his repudiation of jiggy's reasoning and excuses for his actions, through his refusal to accept that jiggy "had no choice," nie mingjue says (in jiggy's view):

"i take back the dignity i gave you before. you in fact cannot be a hero."

The literal crown prince of Ida, spends his entire childhood going to extremely prestige academies, becomes an excellent Duelist, and then all we see of him in GtN is him getting his ass kicked physically and emotionally.

First Gideon literally kicks his ass to which he goes "BUT I TECHNICALLY WON THE DUEL IM THE BETTER DUELIST", gets told sure but he'd be dead in a real fight, gets constantly put down by Ianthe, tries to defend coronabeth from Ianthe and then gets berated by both Ianthe AND Coronabeth, has one of the twins repeatedly eat his hair and skin in front of others, is being kept unaware of all of Ianthe's schemes up until the final lyctoral study in which, the second Ianthe figures out lyctorhood, she just immediately eats his soul and turns his body into a puppet so he can do her dirty work in death?

I can't even begin to imagine the dynamic the three must have had back on the third, how is this man's ego still alive??? For all we know starting age 12 this has been going on, like imagine being assigned to the twins thinking "at least one of them is nice" only to find out your REAL necromancer is Ianthe and she is currently trying to eat your fingernails?? I said in an alternative universe that Loid calls Anya mon doudou amas part of hc I had for her (him being French ofc). Originally I got it from St Lucian creole so the translation was more of a my sweets/sweetie but recent research have revealed it means my blanket or cuddly thing in other regions.

In one of my fics, Anya loses her chimera, and Twilight in returns gives her his mother's locket, and he's obviously very torn about it. So I think the idea of him calling her doudou, which is like my blankie, is just so cute. Like blankies are comfort things you give to kids and Twilight lost his comfort thing but inadvertently gained a new one with Anya. He doesn't need the locket anymore he has Anya. Simon walked into the living room to see Y/N sitting on the couch, the cushions dipping beneath their weight. They were on their phone, scrolling absent-mindedly. Something caught Simon's eye as he looked at them; they were wearing a rather.. showing.. shirt. The article of clothing was frayed in certain areas, exposing quite a bit of Y/N's chest.

With a slightly embarrassed face, Simon tilted his head at them. "Uh, hey, Y/N..! I see you went shopping?"

Y/N glanced up from their phone with a small smirk, taking a break from the Internet to talk with their roommate. They nodded. "Yep! Do ya like it..?" There was a slightly different tone to their voice as they spoke with him, and Simon sighed, sitting next to them with a grunt.

"Yes, but it's.. revealing, at the very least." He said quietly, his face a bit more red than before, his eyes refusing to meet Y/N's.

Y/N chuckled, moving closer to him with a slight groan; when they inched near Simon, there was a noticeable change in the tension of his muscles. Y/N was enjoying this, in a strange, teasing, manner. They could step it up a bit..

As Simon clicked the remote, turning the TV on, Y/N adjusted themselves a bit more, placing their exposed flesh onto Simon's clothed chest. Although his eyes were focused on the bright television, you could tell he was dying to look at you. As he spoke, there was a note of strain in his usually soft voice;

"What would you like to watch, Y/N, hm..?"

Y/N shrugged. "Anything, I don't really mind." They pressed themselves progressively closer to Simon, pushing their exposed chest closer against his upper body. The tension rose in the man's arms, and his face was rather red. In a teasing tone, Y/N murmured, "Anything wrong, dear Simon?"

Simon gave a low, almost inaudible, chuckle. His head shook, and he slowly placed a hand on your hair, ruffling it slightly. He really couldn't help himself, honestly, and you didn't mind. "No, nothings wrong, Y/N, I'm doing quite pleasantly, actually."

He smiled, and you noticed his face turn towards you. Y/N let out a small moan at his touch, and Simon raised his eyebrows, but continued to stroke your hair softly. You continued to make small noises and suggestive murmurs, but at this point, he didn't mind at all. You could moan and groan all night, and he would enjoy every moment of it.

Simon set the TV to one of his favorites: Cheers. The two of you cuddled for the majority of the night, listening to the quiet hum of the television.

These screenshots do not do justice to just how comforting Game is in this moment. His voice is so, so soft and kind and he doesn't try to pretend like Diew didn't just completely bomb the presentation, but he's also offering very honest and practical reasons for Diew to feel better. Sometimes when friends try to comfort you and they tell you that it's not a big deal or it wasn't as bad as it seems, it feels more like they're downplaying or not acknowledging how awful you feel but I like that Game isn't doing that.

But most importantly, he's not letting Diew face it alone:

I know everyone has things on their plate and so sometimes it's not always possible to offer to walk with someone through the difficult thing, but when someone DOES offer, goodness it can feel so, so good!

MND is so good at portraying genuinely good friendships. God's entire friend group, while chaotic, is just so enthusiastically supportive of each other. And I love that Diew and Game's friendship is built on these genuine moments of connection and common interest. You can really see why they're friends. Sometimes in shows there's a sense that if these people weren't just in the same class/thrown together by the situation, they may not really be friends but Diew and Game's friendship feels like they'd've found each other even if they weren't in the same class(es?) together (probably through seeing each others names on the same books they borrow from the library or some other cute shit like that). Literally every time they're together its just wholesome and lovely and good. <3
