Yes, indeed, it would make sense for GCY to scheme and have WSW spend the money because he knows exactly the effect this will have on CC (devastation, but also overwhelming appreciation for how much WSW loves him). But it would also make sense for GCY to secretly be spending the money too. I remember some theories floating around that GCY was secretly the one to buy the house, but I sort of like what the author did in the end because that meant CC was able to also pull off his own grand gesture of not only buying the house back at double the cost, but going on that wild goose chase looking for that tree.

I think the significance of the gesture - and most importantly the way the audience finds out about it but it's very clear that CC doesn't tell WSW, which makes it an act CC did purely because he knew how upset WSW would've been to lose that tree, with no attempt to gain himself any brownie points - makes it worth a bit of an OOC moment for GCY's character.

I will say, GCY doesn't need to do anything to 'prove' that he's ride or die, like the post implies. They're brothers in ritual and blood tea, as I explained in the post I assume you're referring to. GCY has nothing to prove. What this clip shows us that Zhan Xuan has an innate sense of his character, which, given the few posts of the BTS readings I've seen seems to be something he's had from day 1, and I adore him for it. <333

Final thoughts on Revamp's episode 1.

Ramil is clearly playing at being a helpless/innocent lamb, but I wonder if he was doing that from the very beginning. Like, when he "discovers" he no longer has his powers, was that genuinely when he finds out? Or did he figure it out from the moment he was awakened? His act is incredibly consistent in the first half of the episode, so I sort of think he realised from the moment he opened his eyes and knew that he'd need Punn's blood to get his powers back, and that's why he's pretending to be this helpless/harmless kitty so as not to scare the human that he needs for Vampire Ritual reasons.

Punn has to have had experience with the supernatural before (I'm choosing to trust the process!). He's too chill about this whole vampire thing. That said, I think he HAS maybe been searching for this dream man/trying to figure out what connection he has because the book he flips through has some interesting drawings/notes from various mythologies (I looked up the chalice and it's a painting from Arthurian Legend, and another page has a vase with a Buddha statue silhouette). At least the painting with the chalice is about a prophecy/fate, so he could be willing to just go with the flow cuz this is the first time he's encountered any sort of explanation for the odd things he's experienced.

I love how fleshed out all the characters feel already, independent of the love story. Punn has a foster/adopted brother who he has a complex relationship with, and who he clearly cares about. I hope this gets fleshed out more because yesss this kinda thing is so rarely addressed in a vampire story. The shady art gallery owner (?) has some kind of hold on him that makes them reluctant co-workers?? IDK Punn seemed really reluctant to work for him, but also they've clearly known each other for a long time, because he knows that Punn and Pokpong fight often (I wonder if they're all from the same orphanage?). Also, Punn seems very softhearted despite his cold demeanour - it's in the way he gives in when Methas begs for his help, despite the clearly insane context.

Meanwhile, we know that Ramil is cunning and able to adapt to the situation to best benefit himself. He tries different things with Punn and discards and adopts strategies as and when he sees something work, like when he realises that if he acts helpless/in need of Punn's help, Punn is more likely to give in. It's clear he wants to keep Punn close, but whether it's for selfish reasons at this point or because he has some pull towards him because of the whole 'chosen/fated' element remains to be seen.

Methas is loyal and cutthroat and deliciously superior. Mark is carrying the vampire posture very well. I'm cracking up at the diametrically opposite personalities that Ciar and Mekhin have right now. Mekhin, how in the world did you survive med school and become a full fledged doctor working in the ER if you can't handle yourself around blood?! This makes no sense. Meanwhile Ciar is every 'dark' and 'tortured' vampire trope, right down to the 2 crows and all-black ensemble complete with billowing cape and kneeling subjects. None of them are fleshed out yet, but they all have such clear personalities, I'm already invested.

And as much as it was mostly out of focus and extreme close up, there was this kind of yearning tenderness to the way Ramil and Punn kiss that bodes very well for BounPrem chemistry. I've never watched them in a series before, so I'm hoping to discover another pair I can really enjoy. >w< <3

Cracking up so hard at the thought that Ramil's first introduction to the modern depiction of vampires and their relationship with humans is a BL series.

Given his speech patterns and his reaction to a TV, Ramil's clearly been in stasis for a long, long time, so this being his first and only (so far) understanding of how humans think of vampires is especially hilarious. What kind of misconceptions is he even going to have???

Does he think all humans perceive vampires as gay?

Ramil: "Huh, times sure have changed! Not complaining tho! Very convenient for me stumbling onto this very cute human."

Is he going to be weird about him not enjoying drinking human blood (and I wonder what the story is behind that? Is he lying?)? Given that in MGB it's almost like a siren call to vampires?

Is he gonna act all aggressive cuz he thinks that's what he's supposed to be doing (instead of the adorable pouty kittycat he clearly is)?

Please, Ramil, for the love of god, find other sources I'm begging you. 😂

So I wasn't planning on watching Revamp but life has handed me a terrible stomach bug and nothing to do but lay in bed and be miserable, so I started it and. Oh. My. God.

First of all, the hints that Ramil and Punn are fated mates or True Mates given that Punn's been having these dreams about Ramil before they even met?? Yeah, right up my alley. Inject that right into my veins please and thank you. I adore this trope so much.

Also, I love how Seriously Unserious they're being about this. The trailer definitely made it look more like it was going to be this dark, intense drama (and I'm sure they'll get to that later) but Ramil's introduction to the audience is so immediately endearing that I have to hand it to the show. It's clear that vampires can and should be considered dangerous, but then Ramil in episode 1 specifically is mostly a hyperactive kitty cat, that it's very disarming. I'm curious to see where they'll take it.

What a blasé reaction to finding out that your supernatural powers are gone. What a king. XD He mostly looks sheepish that he can't show off for his new landlord/benefactor/rescuer like he promised.
