I may be the slowest person in the world. I saw Twisters again last night and finally realized that i was right the first time i watched it and the guy from the motel really is young John Garrett. And he’s Bill Paxton’s son. I had no idea he was Bill Paxton’s son. Now that i know that it’s like yeah ofc he is!!!! He looks so much like him and that’s why he was in the Twisters and that’s why he played young John Garrett. I’m only just now putting that all together and I fear that might’ve been common knowledge and I was the only one who didn’t know that.

‘SNL 1975’ Finds Its Garrett Morris, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase And John Belushi
By Justin Kroll, Anthony D'Alessandro January 30, 2024 10:00am
Lamorne Morris playing Garrett Morris, Dylan O’Brien playing Dan Aykroyd, Cory Michael Smith playing Chevy Chase and Matt Wood playing John Belushi
EXCLUSIVE: Lamorne Morris, Dylan O’Brien, Cory Michael Smith and Matt Wood have joined the cast of Sony Pictures’ SNL 1975 that will be directed by Jason Reitman and based on the real-life behind the scenes accounts of the opening night of Saturday Night Live. Morris will play Garrett Morris, O’Brien will play Dan Aykroyd, Smith will play Chevy Chase, and Wood will play Belushi. The original screenplay is written by Reitman and Gil Kenan.
On October 11, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. SNL 1975 is the true story of what happened behind the scenes that night in the moments leading up to the first broadcast of NBC’s SNL. It depicts the chaos and magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t, counting down the minutes in real time to the infamous words, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
The screenplay is based on an extensive series of interviews conducted by Reitman and Kenan with all the living cast members, writers and crew. Reitman, Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld, Erica Mills and Peter Rice are producing.
Morris can currently be seen in FX’s fifth season of Noah Hawley’s hit drama series Fargo as North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr. He joined the cast of Netflix’s Unstable for season two opposite Rob Lowe. Prior to this, he starred as the titular lead in the hybrid live-action/animated Hulu series Woke, inspired by the life and art of cartoonist Keith Knight.
O’Brien was most recently starring in Ponyboi, which premiered as one of ten films in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Up next, he will be seen in the feature films Caddo Lake, from the writing-directing team of Logan George and Celine Held and producer M. Night Shyamalan, and Anniversary, a thriller co-starring Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Zoey Deutch and Phoebe Dynevor. His other credits include Searchlight feature Not Okay from writer-director Quinn Shephard, the critically-acclaimed crime drama The Outfit, opposite Mark Rylance, Zoey Deutch, and Johnny Flynn; Paramount’s Love and Monsters and the popular Maze Runner franchise
Best known for his role on as the Riddler on the popular Fox series Gotham, Smith can currently be seen as Julianne Moore’s son in Todd Haynes’ May December. He most recently starred as Varian Fry in Anna Winger’s limited series Transatlantic opposite Gillian Jacobs and Corey Stoll for Netflix. Smith has also worked with Todd Haynes in both Carol (as private investigator Tommy Tucker) and Wonderstruck.
Wood has appeared in the original Broadway cast of Spongebob Squarepants and as husky kid icon Augustus Gloop in the Broadway First National Tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Television credits include Law and Order: SVU, Instinct and Difficult People.
Morris is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, The Lede Company, and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light. O’Brien is repped by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Principal Entertainment LA, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark. Smith is repped by Circle of Confusion. Wood is repped by BRS/Gage Talent Agency.

🍁🍁Comfy-vember🍁🍁
Day 1: New Day
Grant Ward & Phil Coulson, Agents of SHIELD, AU
-----
"Old habits die hard."
Grant smiled involuntarily, inhaling the steam rising off his coffee. "Speak for yourself." He glanced up, watching Coulson select a mug bearing the red and blue Captain America shield and pour his own drink, add the one sugar, the dash of milk.
Routine, comforting.
I missed you, burned on the tip of his tongue, but he'd already said it enough.
He had woken at take-off, and Agent May had already come and gone with her morning beverage, apparently preferring the solace of the cockpit, even with the Bus on autopilot.
"What are you reading?" Coulson sat next to him at the galley bar, glanced over.
Grant flipped the front half of the book up so he could see the cover. David Grossman's On Combat. "Re-read. Think I'll make it Skye's first required read."
Coulson's eyes flicked up to hold Grant's, a probing look, before a smile flickered across his face. "Good idea. Maybe balance it with Jane Austen though?"
Grant snorted a laugh. "There's a reason I hated English, you know."
"Really?" A raised eyebrow. "And here I thought you liked reading."
"Come on. I only survived senior year Shakespeare because we got to put on our own version of Julius Cesar, and I got to be stabbed."
"You were good at that." Coulson blew on his coffee, smiling a little, gaze unfocused as if remembering.
A sudden ache in his throat, and Grant had to look away, down at the page he could no longer read. Sure, it had been almost a week since the man he called "Dad" had returned from the dead. But it had been an incredibly hectic week, with Rising Tide hackers and exploding people, and even now they were bound for Costa Rica to assess a good old 0-8-4. This was the first time they'd had a morning like this, slow and easy, coffee and a book and quiet banter.
He wished it could last forever, the way it had seemed to when he was 17, and the summer sun was barely up, and he was raring to be off to his job at Bell's Hardware. But he wasn't 17 anymore, and this wasn't Klamath Falls, and much as he loved his job he never knew what might happen in a day.
"Do you think Skye's settling in alright?"
He blinked back his surge of emotion, focused on Coulson's question.
Skye. Right. "I think so." She could be annoying and juvenile, but Grant had started to respect her smarts, and she could be funny too. "She has no idea how to cook though," he added. "Other than boxed mac and cheese, and microwave meals."
"You can teach her."
The confidence in Coulson's voice warmed Grant as much as his first sip of coffee.
He'd had some good teachers—Coulson, of course; Agent Huff in his first year at the Academy; and his own SO, John Garrett. But he'd never been in the position of passing on that knowledge to someone else. What if he got it wrong? What if he got her killed?
That thought had him swallowing harder than necessary. "You sure, Dad?" It came out quieter than he liked.
"Of course." A hand came to rest on his shoulder, squeezed gently. "I wouldn't give you the job if I didn't think you could do it." An old familiar phrase, and Grant couldn't answer, merely nodding his head a few times.
He would never be able to express his gratitude for having his dad back, never.
"Alright, son?"
Grant cleared his throat, turned his head away to knuckle some moisture from his eyes. "Yeah," he muttered. He glanced at Coulson, summoning a little grin. "You're on breakfast duty, you know. When was the last time you made French toast? Or do I need to teach you that?"
A snort of laughter, before Coulson cuffed him gently on the head. "Young punk," he muttered.
The smell of cooking pulled the others from their bunks, and Coulson quickly found himself swamped in the tiny galley.
Grant found himself laughing at the near-chaos, and met Coulson's gaze with a little salute of his mug across the room, before he polished off the last mouthful of coffee.
Sure it was a different morning than the ones they'd once had. But that didn't mean it couldn't be good.

What are your hopes and fears about the upcoming DCU?
Hmmmm. This is one of those things where I'm still waiting to get a bit more direction about the next upcoming universe-wide event.
My hopes?
Well, I'd like to see DC find space in the roster for at least one (1) Aqua character to be appearing regularly in a continuing title, even if they don't spin up a new Aquaman title. It's frankly embarrassing that the only things the characters have been seen in is limited run team books, B-stories in anthologies, crossovers, and movie tie-in singles for almost two years, particularly when they just had a movie.
I want a continuation for Hawkgirl, thank you.
I want to see a main-universe Justice League book back (I don't count vs Godzilla vs Kong). It doesn't HAVE to be a JLA; it could be a JLD or a JLI (or even a JLQ though JLQ is mostly a stupid joke they haul out for Pride), I just think the current Titans run is underwhelming as the premier team book.
I want to see a teen or young-adult roster team book, to use literally any of the dozens of underused characters right now in the 14-21 bracket. I would also prefer it not to be a Lost Children book (though the likelihood of that seems to be going down, given apparently Johns is going exclusive elsewhere once the current JSA run finishes up). I also would like for the team leader on the book NOT to be a Robin.
I would really like to see Action Comics return to an A,B,C story layout that's focused on Superfam broadly, and I would like to see Detective Comics join it once Ram V's run is finished for the Batfam, if Brave and the Bold is going to continue avoiding actually using BatFAM characters. Both families support multiple titles but also at least a dozen prominent characters readers want to see each. Use that space to tell stories with them.
Blue Beetle brings Dani Garrett back and has her meet Victoria Kord and they hate each other.
Someone spins up a team that consists of Renee Montoya returning as the Question, Kate Spencer, Cameron Chase and Sasha Bordeaux. After creating the perfect Rucka-bait he comes back and writes me a maxi-series of all of these characters having adventures together, with Director Bones growling at them as Waller is currently too evil and them all largely ignoring him to thump heads together. If they really can't tempt Rucka, give it to Marc Andreyko. (I am aware this is a pipedream, but join me!)
My fears?
Harley Quinn stays on Birds of Prey
This upcoming Waller event is even more character-destroying nonsense that fails to recognise her complexity (oh I know, I'm already braced)
Tim continues to not be anchored onto at least one of the Bat books as a supporting character
Tom King stays on Wonder Woman for an extended run
Someone decides we need another Joker event
Anyone tries to push the reset button too hard in the upcoming event. Currently they've got most characters pretty stable and a lot of pre-boot revival characterisation happening. I really don't want extra multiversal shenanigans right now.

Favorite Takes - DC
Where I cite my personal favorite non-source material (so film, TV, and video games only) adaptations of some comic book characters.
Clark Kent/Superman
Superman The Movie & Sequels (Christopher Reeve)
All Star Superman (James Denton)
DC Animated Universe (Tim Daly, George Newbern)
My Adventures With Superman (Jack Quaid)
CW DC Universe (Tyler Hoechlin, Brandon Routh)
NOTE: I was never the biggest fan of Dean Cain from Lois & Clark so he couldn't get on here, Tom Welling from Smallville might've been a contender had his character and story not got so bastardized, and the less said of poor Henry Cavill from the DCEU, the better.
Lois Lane
DC Animated Universe (Dana Delany)
All Star Superman (Christina Hendricks)
Superman The Movie & Sequels (Margot Kidder)
TV Versions (Terri Hatcher, Erica Durance, and Elizabeth Tulloch)
My Adventures With Superman (Alice Lee)
Lex Luthor
DC Animated Universe (Clancy Brown)
All Star Superman (Anthony LePaglia)
Smallville (Michael Rosenbaum)
CW DC Universe (Jon Cryer, Michael Cudlitz)
DC DTV Universe(s) (James Marsters, Jason Isaacs)
JLA (James Woods) & Young Justice (Mark Rolston)
NOTE: The last two get a split spot since one of them's got the voice of an evil political fascist while the other got his character mangled in later seasons to be a bad parallel to an evil political fascist. I also like the Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey, Stan Jones, Travis Willingham, Fred Tatasciore, Steve Blum, Ranin Wilson, Giancarlo Esposito, Zachary Quinto, Darin De Paul, Lance Reddick, Marc Maron, and Max Mittelman versions of Lex, and await to see Nicholas Hoult's.
Jimmy Olsen
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Alexander Polinsky)
DC Animated Universe (David Kaufman)
My Adventures With Superman (Ishmael Sahid)
Superman Returns (Sam Huntington)
All Star Superman (Matthew Gray Gubler)
Supergirl
DC Animated Universe (Nicolle Tom)
DC Superhero Girls (Anais Fairweather)
My Adventures With Superman (Kiana Madeira)
CW DC Universe (Melissa Benoist)
Supergirl '84 Film (Helen Slater)
Brainiac
DC Animated Universe (Corey Burton)
My Adventures With Superman (Michael Emerson)
Injustice Series (Jeffrey Combs)
Superman Unbound (John Noble)
TV Versions (James Marsters and Blake Ritson)
Bruce Wayne/Batman
DC Animated Universe (Kevin Conroy)
Under The Red Hood & Young Justice (Bruce Greenwood)
The Batman Trilogy (Robert Pattinson)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Christian Bale)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Diedrich Bader)
Batman '66 (Adam West)
NOTE: I really wanted David Mazouz from Gotham on here, but he had to compete with these other Bruces who were actually full time Batmen, so consider him an honorable mention. I also like Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and Ben Affleck as Batman, but there were some problems with their particular iterations. Other runner ups include the other Kevin Conroy Batmen (particularly Arkham and Injustice), Rino Romano, Jeremy Sisto, Daran Norris, Anthony Ruivivar, Ben McKenzie, Jason O'Mara, Troy Baker, Peter Weller, Jensen Anckles, Keanu Reeves, Ethan Hawke, and of course the LEGO Batman(s).
Alfred Pennyworth
Burton-Shumacher Films (Michael Gough)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Michael Caine)
DC Animated Universe (Clive Revill, Efrem Zimbalist Jr.)
The Batman (Alastair Duncan)
Arkham Series (Martin Jarvis)
Gotham (Sean Pertwee) and The Batman Trilogy (Andy Serkis)
NOTE: Other great Alfreds include James Garrett, Brian George, JB Blanc, David McCallum, Enn Reitel, Anthony Head, Ralph Fiennes, Nolan North, Tom Hollander, Jason Watkins, and Jeremy Irons.
James Gordon
DC Animated Universe (Bob Hastings)
Batman Year One (Bryan Cranston)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Gary Oldman)
The Batman Trilogy (Jeffrey Wright)
Beware The Batman (Kurtwood Smith)
Batman '66 (Neil Hamilton, Jim Ward)
Barbara Gordon
DC Animated Universe (Melissa Gilbert, Mary Kay Bergman, Tara Strong)
Arkham Series & Injustice Series (Kimberly Brooks)
The Batman (Danielle Judovits)
Young Justice (Alyson Stoner)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Mae Whitman)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Krystal Joy Brown)
Dick Grayson/Robin
Teen Titans (Scott Menville)
Young Justice (Jesse McCartney)
Batman '66 (Burt Ward)
The Batman (Evan Sabara)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Crawford Wilson, Jeremy Shada)
Arkham Series (Josh Keaton)
Dick Grayson/Nightwing
Teen Titans (Scott Menville)
Young Justice (Jesse McCartney)
DC Animated Universe (Loren Lester)
Under The Red Hood (Neil Patrick Harris)
Arkham Series and Injustice Series (Troy Baker)
DC DTV Universe (Sean Maher)
The Joker
DC Animated Universe (Mark Hamill)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Heath Ledger)
Burton-Shumacher Films (Jack Nicholson)
Joker 2019 (Joaquin Phoenix)
Under The Red Hood (John DiMaggio)
Gotham (Cameron Monaghan)
NOTE: Other great Jokers include Mark Hamill and Troy Baker as Arkham series Joker, Mark Hamill in JLA, Troy Baker in Batman Unlimited and some of the newer DTVs, Caesar Romero in Batman '66, Michael Emerson in The Dark Knight Returns, Kevin Michael Richardson in The Batman, Jeff Bennett in Batman: The Brave & The Bold, Richard Epcar in Mortal Kombat and Injustice, John Kassir in Superfriends 2010, Alan Tudyk in Harley Quinn, Tony Hale in Batman Ninja, Barry Keogan in The Batman Trilogy, and the LEGO Joker(s).
The Penguin
Batman '66 (Burgess Meredith, William Salyers)
Gotham (Robin Lord Taylor)
The Batman Trilogy (Colin Farrell)
Arkham Series (Nolan North, Ian Redford)
DC Animated Universe (Paul Williams, David Odgen Stiers)
The Batman (Tom Kenny)
NOTE: I like the Stephen Root, David Jennison, Dana Snyder, and Wayne Knight Penguins as well, but they're not quite good enough to crack this. Mad respect to Danny DeVito too, but his Penguin sucks.
The Riddler
Batman '66 (Frank Gorshin*, Wally Wingert)
Gotham (Cory Michael Smith)
The Batman Trilogy (Paul Dano)
The Batman (Robert Englund)
DC Animated Universe (John Glover)
Arkham Series (Wally Wingert, Matthew Gray Gubler)
NOTE: Sorry Jim Carrey, you couldn't quite make the cut! Also in the running: Shannon McCormick, John Michael Higgins, Rob Paulsen, Weird Al Yankovic, Jim Rash, Brent Spiner, and Geoffrey Arrend.
*I refuse to credit John Astin's one appearance. That didn't happen!
Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Arkham Series (Grey Griffin, Chantelle Barry)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Anne Hathaway)
Burton-Shumacher Films (Michele Pteifer)
Gotham (Camren Bicondova)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Nika Futterman)
The Batman (Gina Gershon)
NOTE: Wish DCAU Selina could've made it since Adrienne Barbeau has easily the best voice for the character, but the writing and artwork let her down too often. Other good Catwomen include Julie Newmar, Ertha Kitt, Patty Matson, Jaynse Jaud, Eliza Dushku, Stephanie Sheh, Laura Bailey, Cree Summer, Jennifer Morrison, Naya Rivera, Liz Gilles, Gina Rodriguez, Christina Ricci, and Zoe Kravitz.
Two-Face
DC Animated Universe (Richard Moll)
Arkham Series (Troy Baker)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Aaron Eckhard)
Batman '66 (William Shatner)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Diedrich Bader)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (James Remar)
NOTE: Apologies to Billy Dee Williams, who would've done great, and Tommy Lee Jones, who could've done great (but definitely didn't). Also in the running but their coins landed on tails: Travis Willingham, Matthew Mercer, Robert Picardo, Petter Jessop, Dave Boat, Keith Ferguson, Gary Cole, Andrew Daly, and Josh Duhamel.
Mr. Freeze
DC Animated Universe (Michael Ansara)
Arkham Series (Maurice LeMarche)
Young Justice (Keith Szarabajka)
Batman '66 (George Sanders, Otto Preminger, Eli Wallach)
Gotham (Nathan Darrow)
Burton-Shumacher Films (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
NOTE: Other noteworthy Freezes who got frozen out of making it include Clancy Brown, Eric Bauza, Robert Kraft, Oded Fehr, Peter Stromare, Jim Pirri, and Matthew Mercer.
Poison Ivy
Arkham Series (Taisa Valenza, Amy J. Carle, Darcy Rose Byrnes)
DC Animated Universe (Dianne Pershing)
The Batman (Pierra Coppola)
Harley Quinn (Lake Bell)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Vanessa Marshall)
Gotham (Peyton List, Clare Foley, Maggie Geha)
NOTE: Uma Thurman, Laure Bailey, Fryda Wolff, Natasha Leggero, Paget Brewster, Peyton List II, Cristina Milizia, and Katee Sackhoff are all fun Poison Ivys as well.
Harley Quinn
DC Animated Universe (Arleen Sorkin)
Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco)
The Batman (Hynden Walch)
DCEU (Margot Robbie) and Suicide Squad ISEKAI (Karlii Hoch)
Arkham Series (Arleen Sorkin, Tara Strong)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Jamie Chung)
NOTE: Meghan Strange in Batman: The Brave & The Bold, Jenny Slate in The LEGO Batman Movie, Laura Post in the Telltale games, and Melissa Rauch in Batman and Harley Quinn are also great, and I've no doubt Lady Gaga could've really rocked it too but....yeah.
Ra's Al Ghul
DC Animated Universe (David Warner)
Gotham (Alexander Sidigg)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Liam Neeson)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Peter Woodward)
Young Justice (Oded Fehr)
Arkham Series (Dee Bradley Baker)
NOTE: Also among the great Ra's Al Ghuls are Jason Isaacs, Lance Reddick, Giancarlo Esposito & TC Carson, JB Blanc, and Cas Anvar.
Bane
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Tom Hardy)
Arkham Series (JB Blanc, Fred Tatasciore)
Young Justice (Danny Trejo, Eric Lopez)
DC Animated Universe (Henry Silva, Hector Elizondo)
The Batman (Joaquim de Almelda, Ron Perlman)
Harley Quinn (James Adomian)
Scarecrow
Arkham Series (Dino Andrade, John Noble)
DC Animated Universe (Henry Polic II, Jeffrey Combs)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Cillian Murphy)
Injustice Series (Robert Englund)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Dee Bradley Baker)
Batman Unlimited (Brian T. Delaney)
Killer Croc
Arkham Series (Steve Blum, Khary Payton)
The Batman (Ron Perlman)
Beware The Batman (Wade Williams)
DC Animated Universe (Aaron Kincaid, Brooks Gardner)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Stephin Root)
Batman Unlimited (John DiMaggio)
Clayface
The Batman (Steve Harris, Wallace Langham)
Arkham Series (Rick D. Wasserman)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Dan Donohue)
DC Animated Universe (Ron Perlman)
Harley Quinn (Alan Tudyck)
Batman Unlimited (Dave B. Mitchell)
Professor Hugo Strange
Arkham Series (Corey Burton)
Gotham (BD Wong)
The Batman (Frank Gorshin, Richard Green)
Strange Days Short (Brian George)
Batman '66 (Jim Ward)
DC Animated Universe (Ray Buktenica)
NOTE: William Salyers in Gotham By Gaslight is fine as well but his part is too secondary. Young Justice Strange is the only one I dislike.
Diana Prince/Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman DTV (Keri Russell)
Wonder Woman '76 (Lynda Carter)
DCEU (Gal Gadot)
Young Justice (Maggie Q)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Vicki Lewis)
DTV Universe (Grey Griffin, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson)
JLA (Rachel Kimsey)
NOTE: Really wish a Susan Eisenberg Wonder Woman could've landed here, but both of her most major iterations had some issues.
Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Teen Titans (Ron Perlman)
CW DC Universe (Manu Bennett, Michael Chiklis, Esai Morales)
DTV Universe (Thomas Gibson, Miguel Ferrer)
Injustice Series (JG Hertzler)
Arkham Series (Mark Rolston)
Tara "Terra" Markov
Teen Titans (Ashley Johnson)
Teen Titans GO! (Ashley Johnson)
DTV Universe (Cristina Ricci)
LEGO DC (Laura Bailey)
Young Justice (Tara Strong)
Darkseid
DC Animated Universe (Michael Ironside, Kevin Michael Richardson)
Justice League Heroes (David Sobolov)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Michael Leon Wooley)
Injustice Series (Michael Leon Wooley)
DTV Universe(s) (Andre Baugher, Bruce Thomas, Tony Todd)
JLA (Johnathan Adams)
NOTE: I discount Steve Blum from the DTV Universe(s) 'cause what the fuck was that, and Ray Porter in the DCEU was tragically ill-fated.

fellow fansies - I have complied a (hopefully) comprehensive list of cast members for anyone new to the fandom or for those who may like a refresher on the casts. I've not included every single character, just the main ones, so if you'd like a character adding just ask; also if you notice any cast members are missing or have been labelled incorrectly in any way, please let me know, I want this list to be as accurate as possible. characters with a dash (-) for any of the categories I wasn't sure if they were included in that production or not. if you're able to fill in any of the blanks that would be much appreciated. any questions, please let me know <3

Character Actress
Jan Clayton (August 26, 1917 – August 28, 1983) Film, musical theater, and television actress. She starred in the popular 1950s TV series Lassie.
In May 1954, Clayton guest-starred in ABC's sitcom Where's Raymond?, starring Ray Bolger as a song-and-dance man, Raymond Wallace. She played Francine Tremont, an actress and wife of a banker.
In 1954, Clayton was one of the many guest stars in a television spectacular tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein, The General Foods 25th Anniversary Show, which featured all the then-surviving stars (except Alfred Drake) of all the classic Broadway musicals that the team had written (1943–1954). Clayton and John Raitt, in full makeup and costume, performed "If I Loved You" (also known as the Bench Scene) from Carousel. It was the first opportunity for millions of viewers to see a scene from the musical, since none of the film versions of the Rodgers and Hammerstein stage musicals had yet been released. Clayton during this period also played herself in an appearance on Peter Lawford's short-lived NBC sitcom Dear Phoebe.
Clayton became known to TV audiences as the mother of Jeff Miller (Tommy Rettig) on the television series Lassie (a.k.a. Jeff's Collie in syndication reruns).
