alexmis is such a funny ship to me because it’s just a bunch of people who read alex rider and artemis fowl around the same time when they were kids and went “why do they kinda look good together” and now they’re probably watching some grumpy rich ceo x poor/middle class hard worker kdramas

Throwback Day!
For the throw back day I wanted to revisit my redraw of the photo in The Opal Deception comic, since I've been thinking about redrawing it for a while. I like to headcanon this is the last picture Holly, Julius and Foaly were in together.
I wasn't really happy with how the original looked anymore and wanted to see how much my art has changed since then. Decided to change Holly's outfit and update Foaly's design. Also made the jacket Julius is wearing to more closely match the original design I had for it. Moved their arms around a bit. And yes, I'm still refusing to draw backgrounds.
The originals:

Interestingly, Artemis' decision to start wearing suits (and to dress more formally sensu lato) more or less follows the (presumed) death of his father and the mental break of his mother; what we see as Artemis' present-day, default sartorial styling is almost a kind of mourning attire. And, of course, I'm compelled by the many reasons (verging from banal to saddening) as to why Artemis never really stops dressing like this.

In a universe where Artemis Fowl got an actually competent movie/tv series, I really think that Peter Capaldi would be a perfect fit for Commander Root. He is great at portraying that abrasive, vulgar, and yet surprisingly caring sort of person, and he can absolutely project his voice in the way that only an overworked and majorly pissed off leader could. His distinct brand of Scottish brogue would certainly fit the character, too.

obsessed with butler's pov of things so far being him recounting his lessons at the academy and how to best follow them including keeping his charge safe without getting too attached and then the next sentence from an outsider pov will be like "butler was affected by the same adrenaline rush mothers get to protect their children" like great job butler. you've totally got that professional distance down and are definitely able to think through situations with artemis in them very clearly

I can’t believe Artemis gets mauled by a gorilla in Time Paradox and it’s the least of his problems.

Honestly good thing Holly was there to help Artemis recall their escapades after they resurrected him, because the alternative would’ve been making Juliet dig up the mildly offensive, “We Didn’t Start the Fire” parody song she drunkenly penned with Butler about the past five years back when they were living in Haven for Artemis’ Complex treatment

Enjoying life (thinking about Butler and his strange contradictory moral code and how it’s tied so tightly with Artemis and duty and the expectations of his role)
