I think people should stop mixing up adult Snape with the child/teenager Snape. You can’t justify what the Marauders did to him at 16 by pointing to things he did at 36. It doesn’t make sense. The problem is that there’s no rational or legitimate way to justify the bullying he endured unless you bring up what he did years later. You can’t defend the fact that two wealthy kids from good families decided to mock an 11-year-old poor, half-blood boy on the train to Hogwarts just because he expressed a desire to be in the same house as his friend. Nor can you justify attempting to murder a classmate or stripping him naked in the schoolyard in front of everyone. There’s no way to justify any of that, none, zero. So the only thing you have to defend your heroes is saying that years later Severus joined Voldemort and that at 31 he was annoyed that James’s son had his abuser’s face and, to top it off, made him work overtime. Okay, great, you don’t like that side of him, fine. So what? What does that have to do with teenage Snape?

The whole “The Marauders where teenagers when they bullied Snape!” Argument is the same as “Boys will be boys.”

I’m currently a 15 year old, teenage boy. The same age as the Marauders when their school years are shown in the canon. No matter how much I hate someone, I would not THINK of bullying them.

“It was a different time!” Erm… human empathy as always existed, they just lacked it.

They did not even mature! Sirius and James still mocked Snape well into their adult years! People hate on Snape for telling Voldemort the prophecy, but when he realized his mistake, he did all that he could to do make sure Lily (and begrudgingly, James and Harry) made it out alive. Pettigrew is ultimately the reason why both Lily and James died.

Snape is the most human (said by JKR herself) out of the entire cast. His reactions are human. I find it so infuriating when people water down his characters into nothing more than an obsessive creep. (Which is in no way canon! Please still to CANONICALLY facts for FUCKS SAKE.)

I am by no means saying that Snape is this saint, and that he has done no wrong. He has fucked up a shit ton, and he is an asshole 90% of the time. I’m saying that if I experience the shit he did, I wouldn’t be surprised if I came out the same way.

Timestuck Soos

So, Timestuck is one of my favorite AU's, and there's been a lot of sub au's (Young Stan and Ford go to the 80's, young stan and ford end up in 2012, Dipper and Mabel end up in 1960 something, Wendy gets transported, etc.)

My idea is Soos is the one transported back in time.

Soos is already Mr. Mystery, so he knows all the drama. He's repairing something around the shack when he accidently grabs a time tape and just zoops back to shortly after Stan gets kicked out.

Soos is slightly confused (not in the "wtf is going on" way but in the "Hmm... oh cool, it's my turn to time travel), but he sees his pretty much adopted father (I headcanon Stan adopts Soos post show) down in the dumps, and decides to help Stan.

Meanwhile, Stan is confused. This big guy who looks kinda like a gopher just showed up, recognized him, and then proceeds to act like an older brother/ father (something Stan has no idea how to deal with).

Soos effectively becomes a perfect distraction for any of Stan's cons, while also teaching Stan some new cons. Dumb cons, like pretending Soos is a descendant of Paul Bunyan. and then getting chased out of Minnesota by the actual descendants of Paul Bunyan,

Eventually, Stan and Soos head towards Gravity Falls. Soos shuts down every argument between Stan and Ford because it's Soos. Bill tries to convince Ford not to trust Soos, but Soos is literally so pure Ford just... ignores Bill.

Eventually, everything is resolved and Soos is like, "Alright dudes, I gotta head home now."

Stan is concerned. "Wait, wasn't your time-doohickey broken?"

Soos laughs "Oh yeah dude. but only for the first week or so. I fixed it within, like, a week."

"So... you could have just gone home at any point?" Stan asks.

"I mean, yeah. But I wasn't gonna abandon you, Mr. Pines."

Oh!!! Oh... ohooooo man, Grunkle Stan would be such a horrible but fucking amazing mentor or father figure to Guzma. Daddy issues in common where they'd both understand one another, but so self destructive. Stan would def try to pander to Guzma's destructive and rebellious side but make it fun like beating the shit out of old rugs with bats or rackets, pickpocketing then going out for a meal, handing Guz dog toys to throw into a brick wall, smashing old plates and glass, or just taking him out to box since Stan himself found comfort in boxing to blow off steam.

Stan could also talk to Guzma about those daddy issues on a personal level, giving him comfort and ease mind being someone from another household who's pops was an embodiment and source of trauma.
