Lady and the Lamp
She’s a lamp. She’s on standby on your nightstand. If you turn her on she turns you on. If she gets tired, you can keep her body, but replace the bulb. No more flickering – What’s the point in bickering?  Only when it turns to night should she Illuminate the bedroom That is her purpose, Right? To look pretty, please look pretty And bright But not so bright that she outshines the…

This poem was the first poem that I wrote that took me hours to finish. Almost 3 hours.
It was at the top position before Lavendar Midnight came into being.

Hello ! Thanks for bearing with me , I am a Palestinian educator from Gaza whose life is dire and gruesome. Nothing has left for my family except the hope you can support and help us. After 9 months of war we became exhausted, hopeless , desperate , and displaced. Houses and livelihood sources have been lost and gone with the wind. Things are driving us insane and made. The least level of life can't be attained. Healthy water and food have become a dream we need to realize. What worsens our life more is the constant bombings and killings. That is why I am asking in this post to help us survive this unbearable circumstances , moving from hell to safety and peace. Your support can help us be safe and alive so friends you can support us either by directly donating whatever you can or by sharing my campaign links so that generous people can know about our tragedy and pain. Remember your small contribution can make a big difference for the lives of many children whose heath gets worse and worse everyday. Let their life change and let them feel happy through your kind contribution.

It's July
You wake up and realise that
You're not 16 anymore
Yet you still act like you're so
You got serious decisions to take
But you just want to live in the moment
You are often mistaken for being 16
So, they tell you to be more mature
And act your age
They don't understand that—
You don't wish to be 16 again
You just miss how July felt
Back when you were 16
When life was brighter and simpler

N CHERRY AVE.
Tumblr media
"I've mistaken our memories as dreams or mere imagination
It's easy to do so when he doesn't know what he's done. I walk where we once stepped, passing the roads we once sped down, free. Does he roam these very streets as I do, with our whisper of history following around? Does he remember the way I do? Does it hurt you the way I hurt? Left in his old town,  his traces lingering everywhere.
shadows of who we once were, hand in hand escaping our worlds. talking of endless things
And how the rain enjoys its stay here, as i stand beneath.
"It's    as    if    I've   always    known   you"
Searching for me through the teardrops, you wrapped me in you instantly
To be young and dance in our adoration
To have you next to me became my greatest addiction.
the years grow upon one another, as our branches separate ways
His Cherry eyes have begun to fade as his smile no longer burns in my mind
everyone stranger has begun to be glimpses of him
Time has never been kind to us, stealing all my last pieces of you
Running to every avenue in hopes of seeing you
Fearful that he's already forgotten about me
"Next   time,   you'll   be   the   one   to   take   me   around"
His last promise to me
the sun starts to set beyond the gray clouds and I carry the last of us with me. each embrace wrapped in the moment you parted from me. the first time, when you stood beside me and said hello. and the last, when you refused to look at me.
I hope you find someone to love
As I remember you, passing N Cherry Ave."
- signed, your old lover

What if (By Astrild)
I wake up in the morning
And I feel empty
Like someone else has a part of me
As if there is a place
Where I actually have to be
I know deep down in my mind
Why the idea of love is hated
What if I drain myself and bare my soul
And it is never reciprocated
Life can never be a fairytale
This is the idea that I understand
What if I keep on holding
But they leave my hand
Everyone keeps on saying
Its not reality its just in my head
What if they complete me once
But then leave me for dead

Monkey See, Monkey Do
Pick it up, put it down
Really think about who’s around
Is he watching or is he still
Are you ready to pay that bill?
Get up, sit down
Whatever kills that old frown
Burn it all till it stays
Have you been gone for days?
Chug it down, throw it up
Stick your head in the muck
You’re not dead yet my friend
So keep on going till it ends
Do you want to be okay
What’s your definition of that way
Is it drunk or is it high?
Is it worth it to stay dry?
Where do we go when we die?
Well you’ve been there for your whole life
Monkey see , monkey do
Your daddy drank for two
Run it off, make it stop
Drink again to stay on top
Do your work day by day
But keep on buying that beer on the way
Numb it out, force it down
Let the liquid kill the clown
Nothing matters anymore
Fill the void, that’s what it’s for
It all sucks all the time
Nothing in the world seems to rhyme
Drinking makes it make sense to you
Why can’t you seem to move?
Do you want to be okay
What’s your definition of that way
Is it drunk or is it high?
Is it worth it to stay dry?
Where do we go when we die?
Well you’ve been there for your whole life
Monkey see , monkey do
Your daddy drank for two
And now so do you.
Pick up that chip and put down those cans
Sit up and be a man
Change that stained shirt and call your friends
Let us know you’re not at your end.
