My unsolicited two cents tho:
While I agree it's nice to receive approvals or validation, needing kudos/approvals/validation to feel that your writing is good however, is a slow-acting poison to your writer's/artist's soul. Sooner or later, it will lead you to fall into that bottomless pit of writing/drawing what people want instead of writing/drawing what you want. It's gonna become a payless chore, especially with how rabid and entitled the consumer attitude I see in readers nowadays.
You don't follow the canon lore to a T? The lore police is there to correct your ignorant ass. You write the characters a bit OOC? Some fanatic rando gonna rain on your comment section, wanting you to write the characters the 'correct' way. You write a rarepair or some obscure crack ship? Someone gonna shit in your comment section for pairing their fav with this random character. You write some Dead Dove Don't Eat stuffs or some equally triggering themes? You bet some snowflakes gonna be triggered and cry in your comment section as if it is your choice they decided to read the whole damn thing.
It wouldn't be long when you have to banish your creativity into the depth of the abyss to please your readers for those sweet sweet kudos. You're gonna hate the very thing you once do out of the passion of your heart the moment you let other people put values over it.
So yeah, TLDR, fuck everyone's validation. Others' validation is like a drug; it's good in small amount but the more you get it the more you would end up wanting and needing it, probably losing your passion and creativity to please your dealer for that sweet sweet validation in the end. Don't let it reach that point. The only reader you should be going to hell and back to please is yourself. The others are simply lucky you decided to share your piece with them for FREE.
You don't need anyone's approval for the stories you write and the art you create. But it's also absolutely valid to want some approval from your audience. Kudos and likes don't determine your creation's worth. But it just feels amazing to receive them.

i genuinely dont care if the creation of all media comes to a screeching halt btw i will very gladly live with no new movies no new tv shows no new anything for years if that's what it takes for the people who create them to be treated like human beings. i hope every other facet of the entertainment industry goes on strike too and i hope all the ones that havent unionised yet will. i want media creation to become completely impossible and i want the people who could make it possible again to hold out until they get every single thing they want. btw

i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.
it is not the product of thoughtful creation. it offers no insights into the creator's life or viewpoint. it has no connection to a moment in time or a place or an attitude. it has no perspective. it has no value.
it's empty, it's hollow, and it exists only to generate clicks (and by extension, ad revenue.)
it's just another revolting symptom of the disease that is late stage capitalism, and it fucking sucks.

idk who needs to hear this but if you're a writer looking for a webcomic artist and the best offer you can come up with is a 50/50 split "after gaining revenue", then that's literally asking for free work just with extra steps.
like first of all (and i'm sure people are gonna fight me on this) writing a webcomic and drawing a webcomic is not a 50/50 split, a scene that took you a half hour to write will take them hours to draw so it's literally more like 30/70
but also even IF your comic gains revenue, it's still not gonna pay for that labor, there are comic projects out there that have been going on for upwards of 10 years and beyond who are still maybe only making like $30/month on their patreon... and you only wanna pay them $15 of that?
please just consider writing a novel or short stories, or doing tabletop campaigns, or pitching scripts to comic publishers, or learning to draw yourself (even if you're bad at it! webcomics are allowed to grow and evolve in their art!), or doing RP, or doing anything that will get your ideas and stories out there without being at the expense of a whole ass other human being doing the brunt of the labor for free
no matter how dedicated you are to an idea or how convinced you are that it's truly a unique one that's worth working on, none of that will pay for the labor and time and efforts of people who you're asking to work for free to make your dream a reality. They have their own dreams that they're working on too.

smth i've noticed and adore so deeply about writers is how readily they embrace their darkness and the taboo aspects of themselves, and bleed those aspects into their work. genuinely the least judgmental people on the planet, the most open minded, most people who pursue writing passionately have lived through shit (or are going to) - you can't get a phd in Real Life and come out the other side ignorant and closed off to ideas. combine that with a way with words and a creative spirit and you have a recipe for genius.

i think the whole cringe is dead, radical sincerity, depth of genuine emotion, earnest effort, and unironic love thing that tumblr has going on the past few years has transformed my outlook on things and changed me for the better. but it does mean that now the people i know irl will give me strange looks for being too sappy or too poetic or too dedicated or too excited about about something because they're still stuck in their "well i only like this ironically" phase. guess that's their problem tho not mine <3

I was looking through my blog and I realized I don't think I ever? actually posted my Azulow zine piece here? so. oops! 😅
But yeah, last year I had the pleasure to be part of this amazing Azulow zine, Pas de Deux, a digital zine dedicated to the FE Fates pairing Azura/Laslow, which is still available for download!
Please enjoy some Azulow Family fluff in this no-deeprealms AU <3

that's the thing about fandom; it's literally what you make of it.
(per the never ending discussion about everyone's role in fandoms.)

people on this site will see content creators begging, pleading, screaming for interaction speaking about how disheartened they feel and asking for even a lick of attention and be like "wow it's so presumptuous and cruel to act that way about your loyal customers - the lurkers and viewers on this site!" while not reblogging or interacting with anything and then not two days later they'll have the gall to come online whining about how all of their fandoms are fucking dead. like two guesses as to why that is.

Okay, since we're deep into otgw season, I thought I would share some artwork I made like 10 years ago for my If You're Lonely Press Play Universe.
Tumblr media
This was artwork I made for an 8-tracks iylpp playlist that no longer exists bc I have one on Spotify now.
Tumblr media
Beatrice looking at one of Wirt's tapes.
Tumblr media
A scene where Wirt looks over Beatrice's injury after she punches the wall (I remember trying to mimic the style of the show when drawing this).
Tumblr media
Beatrice wears Sara's Blondie shirt.
Tumblr media
From the story 'Broken Wings' in Bases where they go to the prom together.
