i used to think all the "eldest daughter struggle" memes were like, coming from people kinda like me, who had to take care of a much younger sibling to an unhealthy and unfair degree but ended up seeing themselves in a weird position of being a sibling but also kind of a parent, and finding that at too early an age you had to become the one to stand up for your younger sibling and try to protect them from what you went through in your family, and that being a messed up and shitty thing for a kid to feel but also this bittersweet feeling bc being in that role has given you so much love and care for your younger sibling that that relationship is profoundly based on caring for them and needing them to be well and be safe.. but it turns out some of you just resent your younger siblings for you having been made to take care of them and you just want to be rid of them bc they inconvenience you? gross. we are nothing alike actually..

We are well beyond canary in the coalmine warning levels with the way trans people and particularly trans women are treated on this site.

Maybe you've heard the metaphor of allowing wolves and sheep to share the same space, welcoming everyone. You end up with just wolves because allowing them in that space makes it unsafe for any sheep. Or the story about how a nazi goes into a dive bar and is refused service. The bartender then explains to someone else at the bar that if you serve them once they tell their friends and before you know it you're the nazi bar they all go to and normal customers don't feel safe.

Terfs and other bigots are seeing these targeted harassment campaigns succeed against trans women and rejoicing. They see Tumblr ban them and officially stand by those decisions as endorsement for their harassment. It's a sign to bigots across the internet that Tumblr is a good place for them.

And what's more is that a lot of us probably don't realize just how much trans women contribute to Tumblr. The women banned recently were sources of site-wide memes and posts I wasn't even aware originated from them.any years old memes and references can be traced back to trans women on this site.

How many of these folks have to be removed before this is no longer a site you want to be a part of it? Sure you cultivate your own experience, but you can't follow or interact with people who aren't here. And if I wanted to interact with the nazis and terfs I'd go to reddit.

I encourage everyone to reblog this. Trans women shouldn't have to be the only ones speaking out against the bigotry they're experiencing. They shouldn't be the only ones risking their blogs being nuked by staff. We have to stand with them.

-Pre-Calamity drama- Zelda was straight up dying of hypothermia in the damn Spring of Wisdom. Having to stay on guard duty while she was freezing to death was obviously not as painful as what Zelda was experiencing, but it was torture for him.

After one too many whimper, Link couldn't stand it anymore! No way Link was gonna let the woman he secretly loved die, under HIS WATCH, on her BIRTHDAY!

Link jumped in the spring and scooped Zelda up in is arms. She really tried to resist but she was so weak and frozen, he just ignored her protests... The rest of the night was tense and heavy...their convo too. But I'm actually considering eventually making an animatic of the whole scene, so I'm not gonna spoil the rest of the HC. Maybe I'm a masochist, a sadist, or both, but I have to say it... we were robbed of a real reaction shot of Charles hearing Edwin screaming from Esther's device.

The one time it cuts back to Charles struggling, Edwin has temporarily stopped screaming. Then the girls show up and keep Esther busy, so he's not screaming for a significant amount of time. Charles is getting his bag and picking the lock during that time. When Esther restarts the device again at a higher level, Charles is dropping down into the snake pit.

We never actually see Charles hearing him even though he definitely could. Niko and Crystal could hear his screams from outside.

If they were going to emphasize that Charles was completely helpless and unable to do anything to rescue Edwin, and then make us listen to his agony, the least they could've done was give us that reaction as compensation for the devastation they unleashed on us.

I love fandoms, especially witnessing what fans take away from source material and how fans interpret it based on their experiences. Not to mention the stark difference of interaction between new fans, casual fans, experienced fans, and long-term fans.

I say this because the SVSSS fandom has continuously fascinated me in insisting in discussions that there are parallels between Shen Jiu and Luo Binghe (tell don't show), but in their fanworks, I just see parallels between Luo Binghe and Yue Qingyuan (show don't tell).

And it's not even (fully) a case where they're blending character personalities because they want what the other dynamic has, it's just how the characters are based on canon in two different timelines.

All of this to say, perhaps original draft PIDW (NOT original!PIDW nor pre!SY PIDW which are completely different) was supposed to revolve around the dynamic between SJ and YQY vs SJ and LBH. Perhaps YQY was to be the last hour mastermind, the true foil to LBH.

And fandom is just circling this idea without realising it because, once again, the unreliable narrator that is SY has already convinced this fandom that any version of SJ has to be a/the villain, regardless if it's through his own actions or baseless rumours.

I don't know, mans, but it's gotta mean something that LBH and YQY have such similar life beats of being orphaned and having a tough life but remaining kind/compassionate because they had someone to live for until they didn't which left them empty until they found (or refound in YQY's case) one (1) man to obsess over in an uncomfortably intrusive way with no regards for his feelings and rejections, eventually reaching a position as the most powerful being in existence with a huge caveat that their sword is 83% of that power and is slowly killing them which did nothing to soften said man of their obsession's into showing them kindness leading to the ultimate confrontation between the two in which only one could survive and keep their obsession, not that it mattered because neither of them got to experience his feelings reciprocated, except in another timeline where the same things are happening until their obsession suddenly stops rejecting their (still intrusive) advances even if he is acting a bit silly, but hey take advantage while you can and take advantage they did because now they have that reciprocated feeling (except one still "won" as he gets to keep him for himself) and be thankful that all it took was, in their perspective, a near death fever that drastically changed his personality and most likely left him crippled in some other way, preventing their obsession from not NOT needing them anymore, all-in-all fulfilling their desire to be relied upon again, hooray! 😋😁✌🏽

In all seriousness, at the end of the day people are going to draw connections between characters that fit whatever narrative they understood from the story. SVSSS fandom just seems to be trying to convince others of one narrative while believing on a deeper level of another narrative. It's amusing and makes following the fandom fun.

so i have this fun little idea (for a fic?) where a slightly in the future, post s1 payneland are newly in a relationship, kinda honeymoon phase.

and they end up with another case that turns out to involve a demon and portals. and when theyre banishing the demon something else happens to crawl out of hell at the same time....

its a past! altnerate universe Edwin! who was finally escaping hell! but whoopsie hes ended up in the wrong universe? (or perhaps the future? .. but current! Edwin doesnt remember this..)

so of course past au! Edwin is like 'aw fuck now hells just getting weird, and i gotta deal with myself?? and a random beautiful guy clinging to other me??'

and current! Edwin is like 'oh dear i do not want this absolute messy fresh out of hell version of me interacting with Charles... weve got to put him back.'

Charles upon realising this is just another Edwin and not a trick is like 🥺 'aw Edwin we gotta help him, obviously were gonna make sure he meets up with his Charles right??'

and is of course immediately trying to reassure this Edwin that he got out of hell and hes safe and theyll help him get to where he should be (with his Charles)

(past au! Edwin is faced with this version of himself that is put together and doesnt seem as messed up-- bc this is raw straight out of hell, hasnt interacted with normal things in 70 years Edwin--- and this other/future version has somehow managed to land this incredible guy as a best friend.. and what seems to be more.

Is it weird to be jealous of yourself?? And even if he allegedly has his own version of Charles.. thats not this Charles who is so kind to him now.

Edwin seeing everything he could have ever wanted right before his eyes (and its not his). And he is afraid of leaving because surely this is some sort of heavenly dream and it already took so much to get out of hell. Now he has to find the unknown and hope? That his own future is just as wonderful. That he has a Charles just like this one.)

what i love about the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi of it all is that...it's not just that he's famous and therefore widely recognizable wherever he goes. like yes that is very funny because he was an exorcist before he became a famous actor, which means he CHOSE, on purpose, a day job that would make it harder to hide his double life/secret identity from the hordes of his adoring public, but it's more than that. it's not just that he's famous, it's that he's famous specifically for being an ACTOR, aka a person whose job it is to dissimulate, to make believe, to inhabit roles and emotions other than his own. like he decided he was going to become as visible as possible (which again was literally not necessary! he could have gone into any other career for his day job!!) but in such a way that everyone would see him but no one would see him - they would just see his various made-up personas, including the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi persona. i can't decide if he's a genius or if he just made so many absurd decisions that they canceled each other out and circled back around to working out. he's either playing 9-dimensional chess or he's eating the pieces. too soon to say.
