pairing coworker!lando x intern!reader
warnings implications of sex, dirty talk
synopsis your hot one night stand from the other night turns out to be not only a famous racer, but also your coworker.
author’s note heavily inspired by the dynamic MerDer have in grey’s anatomy… some conversations were recycled from the show. also! special thanks to @clovermoters for being my proofreader and biggest support with all my fics <3 love u. enjoy!
find part two here: taciturnity
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
“Hey, psst, wake up.”
It’s already bright and sunny outside, the curtains doing absolutely nothing from stopping the sunlight from blinding you. The curly-haired, absolute beauty of a man sleeping soundly next to you, however, seems to not be bothered by it at all.
He only opens his eyes when you rip the covers off of him and get out of bed, panicking to collect your clothes from your own bedroom floor. “C’mon, you have to go.”
“Huh, why?” He turns over to lay on his back, not at all bothered by his goodies being on full display. Not that you didn’t get an eye-ful of them last night, anyway.
You stand up straight and give him an annoyed grumble. “I’ve my first day of work today and I’ll be damned if I let a man be the reason I’m late for it.”
He leans up on his elbows, watching with half-lidded eyes as you bend down to pick up your shirt. “Let’s not forget that this man was making you scream last night.”
“Whatever.” You grumble again. “Just go.”
The stranger shrugs and gets up, immediately finding his clothes and tugging on his boxers. “What’s the new job?”
“Photography intern.” A hiss leaves your lips as you brush your fingers through your hair, no time to actually find a hairbrush. Maybe a claw clip could do the job for today. “Paid, before you ask.”
“I wasn’t going to.” The sound of a belt being buckled draws your attention back to him. Your eyes drift upwards, following his happy trail up to his abdomen. The man, proud and egotistical, watches as you ogle.
“I never caught your name,” you finally peel your eyes away from his chest and look at his green eyes.
He bites back a smirk and extends a hand towards you. “Lando.”
Lando’s big hand embraces yours, sending a shiver down your spine that you were far too familiar with for the past eighteen hours. “Y/n.”
He watches as you tightly clutch the sheets to your chest, hiding yourself from him, as if he hadn’t explored every inch of your body just a few hours prior. “Last night was-“
“You should go.” You reiterate, a little rude but it gets Lando that much more interested in how quickly your mood changes. “Please.”
Lando gives you a tight-lipped nod before gathering the last of his stuff, keys to a McLaren jingling in his palm as he waves to you by the door. “I’ll see you around.”
── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
With just a few minutes to spare, you enter the meeting room and you’re met with six other people, all dressed in bright orange shirts with black details. “Morning,” you smile and take a seat at the large table.
Your supervisor, a woman with narrow and threatening eyes, watches you for a few seconds before turning her attention back to the board. She explains what you’ll be doing at McLaren and what your main concerns should be. Easy.
That is until you’re following an employee around with your camera tightly clutched in hand and you see him. He’s standing by the elevator, looking down at his phone and you’re panicking. You turn on your heel and walk the other way, but the employee you’ve been shadowing calls out for you.
“Y/n, where the hell are you going?”
Lando’s head shoots up at the mention of your name and he watches as your eyes flicker between the other person and him. He gives you a small smile and shakes his head. “Incredible,” he mumbles to himself.
You turn back around, bottom lip between your teeth and you clutch your camera closer to your chest. “Uh, I was, uhm… Bathroom.”
“You just went.” Lexi, the brown-haired employee, cocks her head to the side, evidently confused. You sigh, realising that there was no way to avoid Lando and that you’d have to speak to him eventually anyway.
“Right, sorry.” You nod and make your way back to her. And, unluckily for you, she’s already standing next to Lando, making small talk. You notice her tucking her hair behind her ear, a sign of her being very into Lando, and you roll your eyes.
She turns to you, “this is my intern.”
You awkwardly raise a hand and give him one wave, a less-than-pleased smile on your face. “Lovely to meet you, I’ve heard great things.”
“As have I,” Lando smiles at you with amusement stitched into every crevice of his face. Lexi gives you both a weird look before her phone rings and she rolls her eyes.
“I’ve got to go, Y/N, go upstairs and take a left to office 203. I need you to upload the pictures from your camera to the hard drive on the table,” you nod at her instructions and watch as her whole demeanor changes when she turns to Lando. “I’ll see you around, bye, Lan.”
The man next to you gives her a wink and she lets out a noise that sounds something like a mix between a giggle and a gasp. An eye-roll seems to be your go-to expression whenever you’re near Lando.
The two of you watch as she runs off with her phone in hand, something clearly more important taking her away from her responsibilities. The elevator dings and Lando gestures for you to go first. Once you step in, you’re trying your best to look everywhere but at him, despite your body practically gravitating towards the man.
He’s the first to break the silence. “You could’ve told me you were interning at McLaren.”
“You could’ve told me you worked at McLaren.” You bite your lip to hide how uncomfortable you are.
“The car wasn’t enough of a hint?” Lando turns to you as a small laugh leaves his lips. Fuck, his lips. You haven’t been able to get him out of your head and thoughts of kissing him have been clouding your mind all day. It’s infuriating how much of an effect he has on you without even doing anything. “When do you get off? I’d like to grab a bite after work, if you’re interested.”
You sigh and rub your eyes. “Do you fuck every young woman you work with?”
Your eyes finally find his and you watch as he frowns, confused. “Excuse me?”
“Lexi. Have you slept with her, too?” You knit your arms together and wonder when the hell this elevator stops so you could leave. The lack of air in the confined space made you that much more upset.
His pretty, soft and pink lips pull into a smirk. “Are you implying that I’m some kind of a whore?”
“If the boot fits, wear it.” You hiss and the elevator door dings open. Lando watches as you storm off, the smirk never leaving his face.
── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
The first few days of your internship went by well.
You managed to steer clear of Lando’s path, the only time you ever interacted with him being for pictures and in the company of other staff. Despite being so confident in shutting him down a few days ago, you couldn’t deny feeling… something.
Still, that something was highly unprofessional and had very slim chances of actually working out, considering your schedules.
You’re only interning at McLaren for a few months, hoping to add to your portfolio, before you open up your own photography studio. It’s been a dream of yours since you were little and you’ve already achieved so much, you couldn’t let that dream go even if McLaren offered you a full-time job.
The elevator dings at your floor and you step out, trying to focus up and get on with a new work day. Lexi said you could make yourself comfortable in one of the meeting rooms on the second floor, as there weren’t many offices available at that time.
So, room 304 has become your own little office.
You’ve put up some of your stuff on the large table, like a succulent and some stationary. It’s organised, neat, yet still has a touch of you to it. You’ve found that this office has become a sort of safe haven, guaranteeing you as little contact with Lando as possible.
Except, when you open the door to your office, Lando’s sitting in the chair and spinning in it like a child.
“Oh, fuck.” A gasp escapes your lips as you clutch your chest, feeling the rapid pace of your heart. “What the hell? What are you doing here?”
Lando’s head whips around to look at you and he smiles that same annoying smile that gets your blood rushing. “Oh, hey. Lex told me I’d find you here.”
“Find me here?” You ask as you make your way over to the table and set your bag down. “Are you stalking me, Norris?”
The curly-haired man starts spinning in the chair again, closely examining the cat figurine he plucked right off of your cozy side of the table. “Ah, yes, because I have nothing better to do than to stalk you.”
“I’m starting to believe that’s true.” You roll your eyes, taking a seat at the laptop you’ve just taken out of your bag. “What do you want?”
“You.” He says, absentmindedly, as he’s looking up at the ceiling and you hate that your eyes automatically gravitate to his neck. Lando clears his throat and sits up straight. “The photos you took of me a few days ago. I want to post them to my Instagram and I was wondering if you could send a few over to me.”
Silly of you to think that he’d come bother you because he simply wanted to bother you. Sure, the banter and persistence of the devilishly handsome man annoyed you to your core, but you couldn’t deny that you liked it. There’s something about how wrong this is that feels so right.
Lando watched as you typed away on your laptop. “I assume you have my email already.”
“Yep,” you nodded. “I’ll edit them and send them over.”
“Alright, thanks.” He stands up and makes his way to the door. Before he opens it, he turns back to you and, with a playful smirk, asks, “dinner’s still a no-go?”
“I’m not going to dinner with you, Lando.” You wave him off. “Now leave, please. I've got work to do.”
“See you later, boss.” He hums as the door shuts behind him and you put your head in your hands.
“For both of our sake, I wish you didn’t.” You whisper under your breath before composing yourself and continuing your photo editing.
── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
The elevator dings at the ground floor.
“So,” Lexi says as you both enter the elevator. Lexi is the type of girl who tells it as it is, no bullshit, no sugarcoating, pure honesty. So, when she gives you a look— the look, —you wonder what you’ve done now. “What’s with you and Norris?”
“Wha-“ You choke on air. “Me and- and who? What, sorry?” Lexi has to hide her amusement as you fumble over your words. “I don’t- There’s not… No, nothing.”
The brunette in front of you just shakes her head with a laugh. “Right, so he looks at you like he’s seen you naked for absolutely no reason, then?”
Once again, you can’t seem to get any words out so you just look at her. A blank stare straight into her brown, intimidating eyes.
Lexi crosses her arms over her chest and fully turns to you. “Listen, I know you know I like him. I also know there’s something between you two.” She says in a tone you can’t seem to read. “So, please, tell me everything so I could live vicariously through you.”
“Oh, uh,” you’re surprised. “I thought you’d be more upset.”
“I’m upset that you’re not telling me anything,” she rolls her eyes. “Where’d you meet?”
“Bar,” you answer, instantly. “Last weekend.”
Lexi nods. “What was he wearing?”
“White button-up and black dress pants.”
“Fuck, I bet he looked so good.”
“He did.”
You tell her how he was the one to initiate any sort of contact with you other than eyeing each other from across the bar. You tell her how gentle he was, not only when speaking to you but also when he was casually touching you. Lexi listened intently, smiling along with you as you recalled every detail.
Well, almost every detail. There’s parts of that night you wished to keep between yourself and your bedsheets on late nights.
You can’t deny that you want him. Badly. So badly that you might be hallucinating him every time you’re not looking at Lexi.
“Hey, girls.”
This time, much to your surprise, you weren’t hallucinating. Lando was standing right in front of the open elevator door, looking as irresistible as you remembered.
“Hey,” Lexi looks at you for a second, a cheeky smile on her lips as she makes her way out of the elevator. “Y/N, remember what I asked you to do? Can you bring it down to me later?”
You look at the girl and she gives you a wink Lando couldn’t see. “Uh, yeah. I got it.” Lexi, despite being the scariest person in the whole building when you first met her, has proven herself to be a girls’ girl. She smiles at you two as the doors close, and it’s just you and Lando in a confined space, again.
The curly-haired man turns to you, an annoyingly charming smile playing on his lips. “Not talking to me, are we?”
The way he leaned in as he asked the question drove you crazy— his face was right there, right where you could just turn and… kiss him.
Lando doesn’t have time to process what’s happening before your lips are on his and you’re taking his breath away for the tenth time in the same day. First, it was you wearing your hair down that had him take a second to catch his breath. Next, it was the way you spoke to him and the way you tried to pretend like you didn’t want him at all, yet couldn’t resist smiling when he flirted with you. And now this.
He feels heaven on earth when your fingers find the base of his neck and you play with his hair, getting lost in the curls as his hands find your jaw. He lures you in closer and closer, and he’d mould you two into one being if he could.
You feel his hands travel to your waist and he pulls you in, groaning into your mouth at the memory of you around him.
Just as he’s about to tease his hands up your shirt, the elevator dings.
The two of you, like deer in headlights, pause for a mere millisecond before pulling away and practically launching yourselves to opposite sides of the elevator. You pat down your hair and Lando straightens his shirt, and you don’t speak a word to him as you step out the elevator, making a beeline to your office.
Lando follows closely behind you, amused, intrigued, needy. He needs more of you, a mere kiss in the elevator doing nothing to suffice his fix of you.
You take a seat at your desk, pretending to do work even though all you can think of is locking the door and fulfilling every fantasy in your mind right now. It doesn’t help that he’s stood in the doorway, hands crossed over his chest as he just watches you.
It takes ten minutes before you finish your pretend work and pull the USB out of your laptop. Lando’s eyes are glued to you, like you’re the only person in the world.
When you’re in front of him, waiting for him to move so you could take your fake work to Lexi, he finally breaks the silence. “Is that gonna happen again? ‘Cause if so, I need to bring breath mints.” He nods his head towards you, a small smirk on his lips. “Put a condom in my wallet,” Lando says in a hushed tone, clearly teasing you for what happened back in the elevator.
You roll your eyes and laugh at him. “Move, Norris.”
“Oh, so it’s Norris now.” He moves out your way so you can get out of the room, yet he still trails closely behind you. When you’re at the elevator again, he just watches you get in, eyes narrowed at you in a way only he could look at you.
“Stop looking at me like that.” You whisper-yell as you press the ground floor button.
Lando cocks his head to the side. “Like what?”
You sigh and drop your shoulders, “like you’ve seen me naked.”
The last thing you see before the doors close is the rise of Lando’s shoulders and another annoying yet devilishly handsome smirk on his face.
── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
Lando catches you in the elevator the next morning.
He’s as smug as can be and you try your best not to look at him too long. Your hope of surviving this elevator ride dies when he opens his mouth. “So,” he begins. It’s clear that he has nothing to say and that he’s only speaking so he’d talk to you.
“If you have something to say, just say it.” You mumble, a little harsh but you can’t be bothered to put yourself in a good mood. You got called up to a meeting with your supervisor and a few others, Lexi and Lando included, which doesn’t seem too good.
“I don’t have anything to say,” he muses, watching as your face contorts into all sorts of micro expressions. “Do you have something to say?”
“Yes. No.” You look at him and then back to the numbers above the elevator door. “I don’t know.” You pinch the bridge of your nose before turning your head back to him. “You know what? Fine.”
Lando looks at you, like you’ve lost your mind. “Fine?”
You turn to face him with your whole body, arms crossed across your chest and disappointment painting your face. “Fine, I’ll go out to dinner with you.”
He turns to face the door, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Cool.”
“Cool.”
The door opens and you speed off, for the millionth time in the past week. It’s not good for your self-control, and recently declared celibacy, to be near Lando so much. The only reason you’ve decided you’re celibate now is because of that… incident in the elevator. Though you’re sure Lando didn’t mind it at all, but you did.
It was highly inappropriate to be making out with your coworker, at work. Oh, god. What if there’s cameras in the elevator? What if that’s what this meeting is about? You began to worry that you’d be having your first meeting with HR about something you knew would come up.
When you open the meeting room door, Lexi’s already sat next to your supervisor, Eliza. She gave you a small smile and a wave, and you gave her a nervous grimace in return.
Lando, being the annoying coworker that he is, sat next to you. As if you hadn’t already had enough suspicions from Lexi, who didn’t actually seem to mind.
The meeting lasts an hour and Eliza doesn’t get to the reason why you’re there until the very end. “Sorry, why was I called here then? I’m just a photography intern, I don’t think I have anything to do with the race weekend in Italy.”
“Oh, right.” Eliza hummed, pulling out a staff paddock pass for you. “You’re coming with us.”
Your breath hitches in your throat as you take the plastic card and lanyard from Eliza’s hands. “Excuse me?” A whole weekend with not only McLaren, but also Lando. Oh, god.
The curly-haired man sitting next to you laughs silently, before leaning in closer to you. “So that’s dinner in Italy, then?”

After Starcourt, Steve finally managed to get a date. He actually liked her, too. She was nice, smart, and completely smitten over the fact that he was fond of the kids he babysat. Apparently, she didn't take it too well that Dustin followed him onto his date. She left before Dustin came back from the bathroom.
"Hey, where's Lydia?" Dustin asked.
"Oh, her parents called the theater. Apparently, there was a family emergency," Steve shrugged.
"Oh, that sucks. You were really looking forward to it," Dustin frowned. "More popcorn for us."
He made his way over to the concession stand. Steve didn't have the heart to tell him the real reason why she left. Dustin's had a hard time lately since the mall, and from what Claudia told him, he's been having nightmares lately. He didn't have to say anything, but Steve figured the reason why Dustin's been clinging to both him and Robin lately was because he felt guilty about them getting hurt. Robin had agreed with him on that theory. He didn't mind it much. He loved spending time with Dustin, someone he thought of like a little brother, and he knew Robin had come to think of him like that, along with Erica. It was where Robin was currently at "babysitting" for the Sinclairs while they had their own date night. As much as she complained, Erica had wormed her way into Robin's heart. Once they got their drinks and popcorn, they found a couple of seats up front.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" A voice asked.
"No," Steve replied with looking, and he almost did when he felt leather brush up against his arm.
"Steve?" Dustin asked.
"Yeah?"
"Your date stood you up because of me, didn't she?" Dustin asked.
"What? No!" Steve said quickly.
"You're a terrible liar, Steve," Dustin whispered. "But that's okay, Steve, I still think you're my brother."
"Well, you know, if she doesn't understand that my little brother is important to me, then she's not worth my time," Steve whispered.
"You guys are terrible whisperers," a voice from Steve’s other side said. "Also, totally adorable."
Steve turned and found that Eddie Munson was sitting on his other side.
"Do you know this guy, Steve?" Dustin asked.
"Eddie Munson," the man himself introduced. "Didn't know Steve Harrington had a nerdy little brother."
"I adopted him," Dustin replied. "Besides, Steve’s not just a jock. He's a nerd, too."
"No, I'm not," Steve scoffed.
"Please, I found the comic books under your bed," Dustin hissed.
"What the hell did I tell you about going through my stuff, you little shit?" Steve hissed back.
"You really are brothers," Eddie grinned.
"Hey, Eddie, you're a guy," Dustin said suddenly.
"That's what it says on my birth certificate," Eddie replied.
"Do you know why a guy would keep his muscle magazines with his playboys? Do you think it's a jock thing?" Dustin asked.
"Oh my god!" Steve exclaimed, mortified.
Steve could feel Eddie watching him with curious eyes, and he waited for his reaction.
"You know, it must be a jock thing," Eddie said. "I think if I were your brother, I'd give you hell for digging through his private things."
Dustin sighed and rolled his eyes, but Steve took this as a sign that he's thinking about how wrong he was. The movie was about to start. Suddenly, Eddie leaned so close to him that Steve could feel his hair tickling his cheek, his breath in his ear.
"It's not just jocks who put their muscle magazines with their playboys," Eddie whispered and paused briefly, moving in closer until his lips were brushing up light against his ear. "Big boy."
Eddie sat back in his seat, leaving Steve flushed. His heart was pounding in his ears, and suddenly, his crush on Eddie came roaring back. Steve cursed mentally as he tried to focus on the movie and not on the fact that Eddie was leaning more heavily against his arm. His pinky was brushing up against his. At some point, Eddie started running over his hand, drawing circles into his skin. His touch was setting him on edge, and it was making his brain go all fuzzy.
"Bathroom," Steve said gruffly and stood up quickly.
He was grateful that there wasn't anyone in the bathroom when he went it. It allowed him to catch his breath. It was crazy how one single moment could bring out all of the feelings that he shoved inside of him when he was just a freshman, a freshman who has seen the most beautiful boy ever. He honestly hadn't felt this way since Nancy, and honestly, it was baffling. Just one little moment, and he was crazy about him again. Suddenly, the door opened, and Steve looked through the mirror as Eddie walked into the restroom. They made eye contact, and he raised a questioning eyebrow at him as he locked the door. Suddenly, Steve was moving and pressing Eddie up against the door as he kissed him. Eddie pulled him closer by his hips as he kissed him back. Of course, it didn't last long before someone wanted in. They broke the kiss, and Eddie quickly disappeared into a stall before Steve could unlock. The man walked in and frowned at him.
"Uh, the door got stuck," Steve said.
"I heard the lock, young man," he said.
Steve slipped by him and hurried back to his seat. Eddie soon came back, a grin on his face. He pulled a pen out of his pocket and started writing his number on Steve’s hand.
"Call me when you're ready to have a date without your brother," Eddie whispered. "I really do appreciate people who collect lost sheep."
Steve grinned. Things were looking up. Suddenly, he was very grateful that Lydia stood him up.

hello my sweet gorgeous mae!!
how we feeling abt a fic where reader has some difficulty regulating her emotions when she’s upset and just some casual poly!wolfstar dominance. girl honestly just needs a hug and someone to validate her feelings tbh
Hi lovely, thank you for requesting!! I did give her a reason for her upset which in retrospect I probably should have just left vague but I hope it doesn't take you out of it and if anyone knows anything that makes them think this relates to me in any way no it literally doesn't why would you think that
cw: somewhat subtle/implicit d/s dynamics (really just a couple joking mentions of "rules" or "bans")
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader ♡ 1k words
You’re grateful to come home to an empty apartment. No sooner does the door shut behind you than the sob that’s been building in your chest jostles its way out. You hug your bag to your front and go to the floor, crying.
You don’t hold back. You let tears flow down your cheeks and take short, jagged breaths to fuel even more, curling your knees towards your chest and pushing your fingertips into your forehead.
Your heartbeat is loud enough in your ears that it takes you a second to register the sound of footsteps on the stairs, but you notice when they pick up their pace as they draw closer. Not, evidently, so empty an apartment after all.
“Dovey.” Remus sounds gutted. You open your eyes, and he looks it, too. Sirius comes up behind him, both of their forms blurring as they crouch in front of you. “What happened?”
You shake your head. “I—I didn’t—” You’re crying like a child, all choked sobs and snivelly voice. “I didn’t—”
“Shh, that’s okay.” Sirius takes your face in his hands. His hold is firm but his thumbs gentle as they brush over your cheeks. “Just nod yes or no for me, my love. Are you hurt?”
You shake your head.
Some of the worry eases from his features, but his brows pinch sympathetically. “Just sad?”
You open your mouth to answer him, and a hiccup of sobs spills out.
Sirius makes a pained sound and pulls you to him. Remus murmurs, “Oh, sweetheart.”
You try to speak again into the material of Sirius’ shirt, to apologize for coming home like this, but both boys shush you, Sirius rubbing your back while Remus gives your arm a squeeze and leans over to kiss your head.
Remus takes your shoes off for you, and Sirius helps him ease your bag off your shoulder without ever really loosening his hold on you. They move you to the couch. Your boyfriends work in quiet harmony, one always comforting you while the other takes measures to make you more practically comfortable.
“Dove, listen to me,” Remus says after a while. “You’re going to make yourself sick. Take a deep breath.”
You try, inhaling only for it to come jerking back out of you on another sob. “I can’t.”
“You can.” Sirius rubs your back. “Keep trying, baby.”
They talk you through deep breaths for a while, until you start to calm and it’s only Sirius’ voice in your ear, low and reassuring while Remus goes to get something from the kitchen.
He passes you a cold glass of water when he gets back, while Sirius is scraping damp pieces of hair back from your face. Presses it into your hands.
You sniffle. “I’m not really thirsty.”
“You’re going to be dehydrated after all that. You don’t have to drink it all at once,” he says, and the message is clear: but you do have to drink it. “Take your time if you need to.”
You take a shaky breath, bringing the glass to your lips.
“There you go.” Sirius kisses your cheek. You love and hate when they gang up on you like this. You’re between them on the couch, quite literally the center of attention. It’s both comforting and overwhelming. “Now, are you ready to say what’s wound you up so badly?”
You swallow, nodding. “Sorry,” you say, and you still sound congested, “I didn’t think anyone was home.”
Sirius tsks. “You know the s word is banned.” He somehow manages to strike a tone that’s both loving and stern. “You don’t get to start bending the rules because you’ve had a bad day.”
“You shouldn’t feel like you can’t cry when we’re here, either, sweetheart,” Remus adds.
“Probably wouldn’t have made such a spectacle of it, though.” You attempt a feeble smile. Neither boy looks amused. “It was only that I got my rejection from the Lunds job.”
“Oh.” Remus' face creases with sympathy. He rubs your thigh. “You really wanted that one, yeah?”
You shrug, but tears fill your eyes again against your will, dribbling down your cheeks. “I thought I had a good feeling about that one,” you whisper. Sirius starts stroking between your shoulder blades again. “It was stupid.”
“I’m beginning to think we should ban every s word,” Sirius mutters. There’s no bite to it, though, and when you crack a smile he kisses underneath your ear. “It wasn’t stupid, baby. You were excited about it.”
Remus’ voice is a low hum. “It’s not just about this one job, though, is it?”
You look at him, tasting salt in the seam of your lips.
“You’ve been anxious about all this for a long while,” he says, thumb moving over your knee in a slow, soothing back-and-forth. “I think you put all your stock into this one, and now it’s caught up to you, but this was never the only one that mattered. You can still find a job somewhere else.”
“I just…” You draw in a breath, trying to steady yourself. “I thought I was so perfect for this one. If they didn’t want me” —your voice wavers— “how can I expect to ever get one?”
“Angel, I love you, and you know I think you’re a genius ahead of your time,” says Sirius, “but that is some very shoddy reasoning. You’ve no idea who else applied. They might’ve had fucking superman in their stack of applications, and you could’ve been their second choice. That’s not going to happen every time.”
“But it is still,” Remus tells you, taking your hand in his, “very hard to feel like you weren’t good enough. I’m sure all you’ve been putting in without getting results weighs on you, yeah?”
You bite down hard on your lower lip to keep from bursting into tears again. Somehow Remus always knows how to get to the heart of the issue.
“Yeah,” you say softly.
“Oh, I know, sweet girl.” He pulls you into his side, kissing your head. “You’ve worked so hard. But it’ll all pay off in the end, alright? What’s say we have a break for tonight. No more applications, just relaxing.”
“Yeah,” Sirius agrees for you. “After a good cry like that, I think a film and some cuddles are in order.”
“These aren’t already cuddles?” you joke wetly.
He makes an offended squawking noise. “Not proper ones. Get your cozies on and let Rem make us a hot cocoa, babydoll, and then we’ll remind you what real cuddles are like.”

Hi Jade! I had an idea for a request! I was thinking about reader with a really low sex drive and maybe one day she starts to get a little worried and insecure about it and one of the boys just reassures her that he doesn’t care about it<3 idk if that made sense but write for whatever boy you want to I don’t have a preference love you 😚
How Remus, James and Sirius would comfort you when you worry your low libido is a problem. fem, 2.2k
❥ Remus
Remus sits with his legs crossed in the corner of the settee, a book open on his thigh, though his attention has been caught and kept by the TV.
You think some grovelling may be in order after last night. Quiet, you round the settee and climb onto the seat next to his, body turned away from the TV, arm creeping onto his thigh.
“Hi,” he says.
“Hi.”
He encourages you closer, leaning back to give you room to lie on him. His right arm does most of the work to keep you up, sandwiching you to his chest, an almost not quite hug. “What’s wrong?” he asks.
“How do you know something is wrong?”
He taps your back with his fingers, looking up at the ceiling with a sarcastic smile. “What could it be?”
The hints of green in his irises are more pronounced when he’s sitting in the sun like this, rays cutting in through the window, turning his pale skin slightly tanned and his hair a warmer chestnut colour that curls behind his ears. The scar on his lip relaxes as his joking smile fades to a proper one, a lovey-dovey type that melts you. It’s nice to be looked at so nicely, like just the sight of you inspires happiness.
You shift off of your legs, deciding you might as well lay flat with your head in his lap instead. He lets you sink down. His hand takes up station near your cheek, the back of his curled fingers brushing the skin just shy of your eye.
“This is nice,” he whispers.
“I have to say sorry,” you whisper back, drawing shapes into his t-shirt, the soft muscle of his stomach pillowy to poke.
Remus nods emphatically. “Yes, you didn’t come and see me as soon as you woke up. I heard you on your phone in bed. That’s not very nice, is it, depriving me of your company?”
You shake your head into his thigh, a slow, guilty movement. “No, about last night.”
“What about last night?”
Last night, Remus had given you a very slow kiss. He’d been half asleep and you’d been more so, but it was a lovely kiss and his hand had been rubbing sweet half circles into your hip, but it still made you feel awful when he asked if he could touch you and you’d told him you were too tired, even if he didn’t mind. He’d just kissed your cheek and snuggled into you like a life-sized teddy bear. He never takes your rejection as an insult.
“You… you wanted to fuck and I didn’t, I’m sorry. I feel like every time you ask lately I say no.”
Remus frowns at you. Deep frown, eyebrows pinching and brown eyes bordering sullen. His fingers uncurl over your cheek and cover your ear as he cups your face. “I don’t want you to be sorry. The reason I ask is so you can say no, you can always say no.”
“I kiss you, and I wind you up, and then I can’t–”
“Which I enjoy. You don’t have to worry about that.” He leans down to kiss you but doesn’t fully get there, your noses touching, and then he’s leaning away again. “Please don’t say sorry. You know you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”
“I know that. I’m not trying to make you into the bad guy.”
Remus taps your nose with his and leans in again. “I know you’re not. You aren’t one either. Sex is just another fun thing to do, okay? If you don’t want to, that shouldn’t bother me, and it doesn’t. I promise.”
You curl your arms around his neck. He lifts his head, subsequently lifting you as he moves, his arm curling behind your back for a hug.
“Sometimes I want more of you than you want to give,” he says, “but it’s just because I love you, not because I need it. Don’t be silly, dove. Don’t say sorry.”
He presses the heel of his palm to your back and begins the heavy pressure of a back rub. You won’t say sorry if he doesn’t want you to. You shouldn’t anyways. But he’s your boyfriend and you love him, so his being accepting of it is a relief.
Like he can read your mind, he says, “You never have to say sorry for this.”
“I know.” You lift your chin. “Kiss?”
Remus kisses you quickly before tucking you into his neck for a long hug.
❥ James
“You’re beautiful.”
You’re boiling. James doesn’t notice, kissing and kissing and kissing, your neck flushed with his touch and his murmured compliment. “James.”
He tilts his head, weaving in on the other side of your neck to give it the same loving treatment. “Pretty doesn’t cover it,” he says in a rush, his teeth scratching dully up to your jaw, his kissing like nips without any pain behind them as he reaches your cheek.
You catch his face in your hands and push him away gently. It’s so hot in here you can’t breathe, and you’re not in the mood for any further action. It’s funny. You adore his kisses and James is undeniably a good fuck, but your libido is low no matter how pretty your boyfriend is, or how pretty he finds you. You’d always wondered if that meant there was something wrong with you.
James doesn’t seem to think so.
“Sorry,” he says, beaming, “that’s enough, right?”
You feel a weird sharp stab in your chest. “Sorry?”
“I’m getting ahead of myself.” James sits up where he’d been lying on top of you, having manoeuvred such a position in the midst of all his warm kisses. He sits back on his calves, kneeling in the space between your legs, a hand falling instead to your knee. “It’s fucking hot in here, isn’t it?”
“Sorry.”
“Did you make it hot?”
You look at your hand on your chest. He’s noticed you don’t want to take it any further, you hardly ever do. You knew he’d see that eventually. You have the libido of a panda, where James is an athletic young man who loves you.
“No, I mean. I’m sorry, because I never want to when you want to.”
Your serious tone surprises him. “Baby, what the fuck are you talking about?” he asks. “I am so lost.”
“Just– Most of the time when you try to sleep with me I turn you down. You know already.”
“Baby, that doesn’t matter.” He leans in again, only to hold your wrists, two big hands curled around your arms to stop your fidgeting. Two pet names in quick succession is unlike him, and it relaxes you before he’s begun to explain. “It doesn’t matter at all. Just makes it better when we do manage to want it at the same time.”
You grimace. “Are you sure?”
“You want me to be honest?”
You’re not sure. “Yeah. Please be honest.”
“Sometimes we kiss and you know I want you,” his eyes dart down, prompting a surprised laugh from you, and an easy chuckle from him in return, “and it’s frustrating, but it’s not ‘cos of you. I can go shower and sort myself out and it’s not the same as being with you, but it’s not your fault. It’s just a reaction.”
“But I feel bad for making you deal with it yourself.”
“What are you supposed to do? You can’t force yourself if you’re not in the mood. That’s the last thing I want you to do. I’d rather have it fall off.”
You laugh again. James’ smile is glowing, and warm as he presses it to your wrist in a chaste kiss. “We can do other things. If you feel that badly about it, you can give me a scalp massage, please. You shouldn’t feel badly about it, but still. If you’re okay with it, I’d love one.”
He presses his cheek to your chest in want of your hand.
You press your fingertips to his hairline and weave your fingers into the roots of his soft hair, shaking them, nails scratching lightly at his scalp like you know he likes. “How’s that?” you ask.
“Better than sex.” He is unmistakably sincere.
❥ Sirius
“Did you lock the door?”
Sirius hums.
“Close the kitchen window?”
“I did,” he says, waving your hand gently where he’s holding it between you both. You lay straight in bed with the duvet up to your chests and the TV playing one of his favourite movies.
“Okay. Did you take your medication?”
“Yeah, sweetheart. Everything’s done. You can relax.”
You pick your book up and open it to the first page. You’ve been meaning to read this one for a while, you’re happy to get the time, but you’re feeling queasy about something.
Sirius is a loud guy. He loves the glitz and glamour of life, he likes to go out, play fast and hard, he’s electric most of the time. He can be quiet, too, like you tend to be, but you’re worried that you’re another night closer to him deciding he’s bored. It’s been weeks since you went anywhere, and you haven’t fucked in almost as long.
“Can I have this?” he asks, pulling your hand to his lips.
You smile as he kisses your knuckles, barely there presses of his lips to your skin that linger.
“You haven’t turned a page yet.”
“It’s hard to start,” you tell him.
“What’s it about? Fantasy?”
“No, just a romance, I think.”
“I like your romances. You read the complicated ones with the good love, like ours.”
It’s a very nice thing to say, even if you’re not sure how he knows what romance you’re reading. He enjoys listening to you talk about books when they’re done, so perhaps the details have sunk in.
You let the book flop to the side and curl up around your joined hands. “I love you,” you say.
He curls into you in return, “You should. That was a good line,” he says teasingly. “I love you too, my girl.” He speaks it with a quiet, gentle cadence that suits him and the pet name well. “Lift your head. Wanna see you.”
You angle your face up to give him a view of the half that isn’t hidden by the sheets. “I’m so boring.”
“Says who?”
“Everybody, probably. All we do is watch TV and sleep.”
“Good thing I love both of those things.” He wraps an arm around you, palm to your shoulder. “And it’s not true. We went to the cafe yesterday after work. On the weekend, we’re going to the cinema. Why, do you want to do more?”
“It’s not me I’m worried about, Siri. Aren’t you bored?”
He stares at you. Long, non-judgmental looking, his dark lashes kissing in the corners as his gaze wanders down to your neck. “Is this about something else?”
“No.”
His mouth turns sympathetic, a wobbly frown. “Are you sure, lovely? You can talk to me.”
You weigh each word as you say it, determined not to embarrass yourself, “I’m worried that I don’t make your life very interesting. We don’t go out much, we don’t drink, and I never…”
You turn your face down, your forehead to his chest. Sirius hums unhappily and encourages your head back to see you again almost immediately. “You never what?” he asks.
“Never mind.”
“No, please. Tell me, Y/N. You can tell me anything, I won’t care.” He’s getting so serious about it and it’s making it even more embarrassing than before, but you don’t want him to worry. You spit it out.
“I don’t put out. We hardly ever have sex.”
“Does that upset you?” he asks.
“Well. It upsets me if it upsets you.”
“It doesn’t.” His hand cups your cheek, his forehead drops down to yours. “It doesn’t upset me. Did I make you think that?”
“You’re just so cool and I’m your loser.”
He laughs happily. “You’re my loser,” he agrees.
“The last couple of times I’ve said no. I guess I just worry you want more than I’m giving out, so. I don’t want you to wish we were having more sex, but I can’t make myself want it more.”
“I see.”
You listen to him breathing, the warmth of his exhale like a kiss all its own as it fans over your mouth.
He rubs your cheek with his thumb. “Can I tell you what I think?” You nod, and he continues, “I only want to have sex with you, that’s one of the consequences of being in love. It’s a good one. So if you don’t wanna have sex, it’s safe to say I don’t want to either. Okay? Love you just as much with or without it.”
Unlike him and not to be this tender. You bite the inside of your lip.
“Promise?” you ask.
“I promise.”

In which, a girl tries to flirt with one of the MHA boys. Part 2 Part 1 here Characters included: Shoto Todoroki, Hanta Sero, Dabi (Touya Todoroki), Izuku Midoriya, Tomura Shigaraki. Side Note: The reader is a badass chick 🤤
Check out the reverse (When someone tries to flirt with the reader) here
Tumblr media
Shoto Todoroki
You weren’t the jealous type.
You didn’t need to be. Shoto was yours, and he made that painfully obvious—to everyone.
But some people? Some people didn’t know when to give up. Enter Reina Kisaragi—U.A.’s very own queen bee, rich girl, and absolute menace.
She was from Class 1B, and she had everything—money, looks, influence. She was the type of girl who broke the rules and got away with it. Shortest skirt in school? Check. Painted nails, expensive perfume, and a cigarette hidden behind the dorms during lunch? Check, check, check.
And lately?
She had her sights set on your boyfriend.
You didn’t know if it was because he was rich, gorgeous, or just the one guy who ignored her. But whatever the reason, Reina had made it her personal mission to get his attention.
She twirled her hair, ignored dress code violations like they didn’t apply to her, and batted her thick, mascara-coated lashes every time she passed him in the hall.
Too bad for her, Shoto didn’t give a single shit. He barely spared her a glance. But Reina? She wasn’t the type to back down.
And today, in the middle of the crowded cafeteria, she decided to push her luck.
You were sitting beside Shoto, enjoying your lunch, when you heard the distinct click-clack of designer heels approaching. You didn’t even have to look up. You already knew who it was.
"Shoto," Reina purred, sliding up beside him. "You look so bored sitting over here. Why don’t you come eat with me instead?"
The entire cafeteria went silent. You leaned back, watching. You wanted to see how he’d handle this.
Shoto barely blinked. “No.”
Reina pouted. "C’mon, don’t be shy. I don’t bite—unless you want me to.” She smirked, resting a hand on his shoulder.
And that’s when you saw it.
The way her manicured fingers trailed down his uniform sleeve—slow, deliberate, claiming.
Oh, hell no.
Shoto sighed, clearly annoyed. He removed her hand from his arm like it was a piece of trash and turned back to his meal.
Reina, however, wasn’t done.
"You sure, Todoroki?" she cooed, leaning closer. "I mean, I could be so much fun for you."
And then she made her biggest mistake. She reached out—and touched his hair. The moment her fingers brushed through his perfect, dual-colored strands, you were out of your seat.
The cafeteria gasped.
Reina barely had time to react before you grabbed a full cup of ice water from the table and dumped it straight over her head.
The silence was deafening.
Water soaked her hair, her uniform, makeup ran down her cheeks, mascara smearing like a raccoon. Her stupidly short skirt was dripping, clinging to her thighs.
She looked like a wet raccoon.
And you? You just smirked, crossing your arms. “Oh nooo,” you drawled. “I hope your cheap-ass extensions don’t fall out.”
The cafeteria erupted.
Reina, still soaked and humiliated, let out an incoherent shriek. “Y-You BITCH—”
"Language," you scolded, tilting your head mockingly. "You should be grateful, really. I figured someone who smells like cigarette smoke and daddy’s money could use a little bath."
Reina looked like she was about to explode.
And then, to really seal the deal, Shoto finally spoke. He stood up beside you, gaze cold, unimpressed. “Don’t touch me again.”
Reina froze.
And then, without another word, Shoto grabbed your hand, pressed a soft kiss to your knuckles, and led you out of the cafeteria—like nothing happened.

Dabi (Touya Todoroki)
The bar was loud, filled with smoke, alcohol, and the occasional low life looking for trouble.
You were in the center of the room, dancing with Toga, laughing as she twirled you around. The music was booming, your body moving to the rhythm, hips swaying just enough to draw a few lingering stares.
But Dabi? He wasn’t watching them.
He was watching you.
Sitting in a dark booth with Shigaraki, beer bottle in hand, his glowing turquoise eyes never left your form. You could feel his gaze—heavy, possessive, unwavering.
And you loved it. Until someone decided to ruin the moment.
A girl—short dress, high heels, way too much perfume—slid into the seat beside Dabi, pressing her body far too close to his.
You stopped dancing.
Toga followed your gaze, lips twisting into a grin. "Ooooh," she giggled. "Someone's about to die."
You hummed. "Maybe."
The girl leaned in, twirling a strand of her obviously fake hair around her finger. "Hey there," she purred, running her manicured nails down his arm. "You look bored."
Dabi didn't even glance at her. Didn’t move. He just took another sip of his beer, eyes still on you. But the girl? She was persistent. She leaned closer, practically pressing her chest against his arm. "C'mon, you don’t have to sit here all alone—"
That was it. You grabbed a drink from the nearest table—a full glass of whiskey—and marched right over.
Shigaraki, already amused, leaned back. "This should be good."
Dabi finally shifted his gaze to you, watching as you casually approached. The girl barely noticed you.
“Dabi, I was going to-“ you paused, giving her a once over. “Who’s she?” you asked, sipping the shot before placing the glass onto the table, crossing your arms over your chest and raising an eyebrow.
She scoffed, keeping close to him. “Does it matter to you?”
You exhaled slowly, shaking your head. "It matters because he’s my man." You smiled, but it wasn’t friendly. "So, I’ll give you two choices, sweetheart."
You raised your hand.
And in your palm, a flame flickered to life—black, hungry, swirling violently. The heat radiating from it made the air shimmer.
The girl tensed, staring at the fire as it grew.
You leaned in, voice dropping to something dark and dripping with promise. "Choice one: You stand up, walk away, and pretend you never existed. Choice two?" You tilted your head, eyes gleaming. "I see how fast your skin melts before your screams get boring."
She swallowed. The fire in your palm crackled. "Tick-tock."
Dabi grinned, finally entertained. "You should listen to her, barbie," he murmured lazily. "My girl doesn’t make empty threats." The girl scrambled away, nearly tripping over her heels.
Shigaraki snickered. "Pathetic."
You turned to Dabi, flicking your fingers to snuff out the flame. "You good?"
He leaned back, watching you with approval and amusement. "Yeah," he murmured, eyeing you up.  You smirked, sliding into the seat beside him. "I know."
Dabi finally set his beer down, stretching lazily. Then, with a slow smirk, he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you onto his lap.
His lips brushed your ear.
"You're so fuckin’ hot when you're mad, doll." He tilted your chin up and kissed you—deep, slow, possessive.
“I know.”
Tumblr media
Izuku Midoriya
Izuku was too nice for his own good. That was probably why some people thought they had a chance. But they didn’t.
Because he was yours.
The two of you were wandering through a hero merch store, surrounded by shelves of action figures, posters, and memorabilia. Izuku was in his element, eyes practically sparkling as he admired the newest All Might collectibles.
You stood beside him, watching with fond amusement as he excitedly examined a limited-edition figure. "You already have that one," you teased.
"Yeah, but this one has a different paint job!" he defended, holding it up like it was a priceless artifact.
You laughed. "You’re such a nerd." But before he could respond, she appeared.
A girl—long lashes, glossy lips, and a little too confident for her own good—approached.
She eyed Izuku like he was the latest and greatest figurine on sale and she was about to claim the last one.
You immediately picked up on her energy. And just like that, your mood shifted.
"Hey there," she smiled, stepping way too close. Izuku blinked, confused. Oblivious. "Oh, um… hi?”
She giggled, twirling a strand of hair. "You’re Izuku Midoriya, right? U.A.’s top student?"
He scratched the back of his neck, flustered. "Iuh, well, I wouldn’t say I’m the top, but—"
"You're so humble!" She leaned in, smiling way too sweetly. "I was wondering… maybe I could get your number?"
Oh, hell no. You didn’t even let Izuku respond.
Instead, you casually stepped between them, blocking her view.
"Aw, that’s adorable," you cooed, voice dripping with mock sympathy. "You actually thought you had a chance."
The girl stiffened. Izuku, finally catching on, glanced between you two, sweating bullets. "Uh—"
You turned fully to her, grinning. "Listen, sweetheart, let me save you some embarrassment." You gestured toward Izuku. "See this guy? He’s mine."
Her eyes narrowed. "Oh, really?"
You smirked. "Really. And you?" You looked her up and down. "You’re irrelevant."
The girl’s jaw dropped. The entire store went silent. Even the cashier was staring.
Izuku? Izuku looked like he wanted to sink into the floor.
"U-Uh…" he stammered, cheeks burning. "Y-Yeah, I, um… I already have a girlfriend, so—"
You interlocked your fingers with his and brushed your thumb across his scarred knuckles, eyes locked on hers in silent victory. The girl, utterly humiliated, scoffed. "Whatever. I wasn’t even that interested."
Then she turned and stormed out. The moment she was gone, Izuku let out a breath, eyes wide. "You didn’t have to be so—"
You faced him with a sickeningly sweet smile. "So what, Izu?" He gulped. "N-Never mind."
From behind the counter, the cashier whistled. You shrugged. "She asked for it."
Izuku just sighed, knowing better than to argue. And later, when he still bought the overpriced All Might figure, you let it slide. Because honestly? He deserved a little reward.

Hanta Sero
Dating Sero Hanta was never boring.
Whether it was impromptu skateboarding sessions, late-night rooftop hangouts, or movie marathons that turned into wrestling matches on the couch, he always made sure you were having fun.
And tonight? Tonight was supposed to be a chill, drama-free date. Too bad some people didn’t know when to stay in their lane.
You and him were out at a cute little arcade, battling for dominance in a heated air hockey match.
“Come on, babe, is that all you got?” Hanta grinned, his sharp teeth glinting mischievously.
You narrowed your eyes, gripping the striker. “You talk too much.” You slammed the puck straight past his defense.
6-5.
“Ohhh, shit!” you, using a completely different voice, pretended to be a crowd of people. “She’s kicking your ass, bro!”
Hanta gawked. “No way. That was—That was luck.”
You smirked. “Rematch?”
Before he could answer, a voice interrupted. “Wow, you’re really good at that.”
A girl—long legs, tight crop top, too much makeup—leaned against the side of the table, looking directly at Sero.
You already didn’t like her. “Oh, uh, thanks?” Hanta replied, confused.
She giggled, twirling a strand of hair. “You must have some really strong arms with all that tape quirk stuff you do.” She batted her lashes. “Mind if I feel?”
You raised a brow. Excuse you?
Hanta, bless his oblivious heart, just laughed awkwardly. “Uh, I think my girlfriend would mind.” She pouted. “Oh, c’mon. It’s just a touch.”
Your eye twitched. Hanta noticed, quickly stepping back. “Yeah, nah, I’m good.” But she didn’t back off.
Instead, she grabbed his wrist—actually grabbed him—and giggled. “You’re cute. You sure you don’t wanna—”
You didn’t let her finish. Without a second thought, you reached for Sero’s elbow, gave him a look and took out a set of tape—
—and wrapped her hand straight to the table.
Silence.
She stared at her taped-down wrist, blinking. “W-What the hell?!”
You smiled sweetly. “Oh, my bad! Reflex.”
Hanta just grinned, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Yeah, she’s kinda territorial.”
You tilted your head. “It’s not ‘territorial’ if you’re touching something that isn’t yours.”
The girl yanked at the tape, struggling. “Get this off me!”
He hummed, looking at his elbow. “Damn. That’s the extra-strength one, too.” Hanta turned back to you, grinning. “You wanna help her out, babe?”
You crossed your arms, tapping your chin. “Hmm… I dunno. I kinda like her like this.” The girl glared.
Hanta just laughed, wrapping an arm around your waist and pressing a quick kiss to your temple. “Gosh, I love you.”
Meanwhile, the girl? She struggled for another five minutes before an employee had to cut her loose. And by then?
You and Hanta were long gone, laughing your asses off.

Tomura Shigaraki
Shigaraki wasn’t friendly.
He wasn’t patient, he wasn’t kind, and he sure as hell wasn’t interested in making new recruits feel welcome.
The hideout was buzzing with new blood—fresh recruits eager to prove themselves. Shigaraki was bored. He sat on the couch, legs spread, hoodie slung low over his face, fingers tapping idly against his beer bottle. One tap, two taps—never five.
You were beside him, legs draped over his lap, flipping through a magazine.
It was a quiet night. Until she ruined it. Her name was Aya. Tall, slim but cocky as hell. And, unfortunately, stupid.
You noticed her immediately.
The way she strutted across the room, eyes locked onto your man like he was some prize to be won. You almost felt bad for her.
Almost.
Aya leaned over the back of the couch, pressing in way too close, her fake-sweet perfume choking the air.
"Hey, boss," she grinned mischeviously. "You look tense. Need me to help you relax?"
You didn’t even look up. Shigaraki barely acknowledged her, bored as hell. "I’d rather let my skin decay."
Toga snorted from across the room.
Aya giggled, undeterred. "Oh, come on. Don’t be like that." She reached out to grab his hand.
Wrong move.
You snatched her wrist midair, hard. The room went silent. Aya blinked, looking down at your grip, then back up at you. "Excuse me?"
You finally looked at her, deadpan. "You are."
She frowned. "Jealous much?"
You laughed. "Of what? Poor judgment?" You tilted your head, grip tightening. "You must be new if you think touching him is a good idea."
Aya scoffed, yanking her wrist back. "What, you think you scare me?"
You smiled sweetly. "Oh, honey, I don’t think. I know."
She rolled her eyes. "What are you gonna do? Fight me?"
You snorted, leaning back into Shigaraki’s side. "I’d fight you, but it’d be too easy."
Aya clenched her jaw, pissed. "Bitch—"
"Oh, shhh," you cooed, pressing a finger to her lips mockingly. "You’re embarrassing yourself, and I hate secondhand embarrassment."
Aya slapped your hand away, face burning red. Shigaraki finally turned his head, red eyes sharp with amusement. "You done?"
Aya opened her mouth, but the way he stared through her like she was dust waiting to happen shut her up real fast.
Dabi, watching from the bar, grinned. "Damn. This is better than TV."
Aya’s face twisted in rage, but she wasn’t stupid enough to push further.
She turned and stormed off.
You watched her go, then sighed. "Gosh, that was exhausting. I need a drink."
Shigaraki chuckled, finally relaxing back against the couch. His hand slid up your thigh, fingers lazy but possessive.
"Good girl," he murmured, voice dark with approval.
You smirked, letting your head fall against his shoulder. Victory tasted sweet.

The dim light of the post-race debriefing room cast long shadows over the tense faces of the Formula 1 drivers, who were assembled after a grueling race at Monza. The air buzzed with a strange energy, not just from the post-adrenaline rush, but from something darker, more primal. They were all vampires, powerful and ancient, each with their own quirks and vices, but something—someone—stood out.
Lewis lounged in his seat, the sleek lines of his jaw catching the light as he rested against the chair. His eyes, a glowing, hypnotic amber, fixated on the girl in his lap, Y/N. She sat perched there, her head resting against his chest, neck tilted slightly, exposing the delicate skin of her throat. Her eyes were half-closed, lost in a haze of pleasure and something more dangerous.
Lewis's lips brushed her neck as he whispered soothingly, "You’re doing so well, love. Just relax. It’s good for you… so good for you." His voice was a melodic purr, designed to lull her deeper into the thrall he had her under. She didn’t protest as his sharp fangs pierced her skin again, drawing from her in slow, deliberate sips.
The other drivers, scattered around the room, noticed the scene unfolding but said nothing at first. It wasn’t unusual for Lewis to indulge in a feeding post-race, but this… this was different.
Max , seated across from them, crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes, the blue of his irises glinting as he exchanged glances with Charles and Lando. Something wasn’t right.
“Mate, you’re taking it too far,” Max finally spoke up, his voice low but firm. "She’s human, Lewis. You’ve been drinking from her too much."
Lewis lifted his head from Y/N’s neck, his lips stained with crimson. He didn’t bother wiping it off, his tongue darting out to lick the blood from his fangs. His eyes flicked lazily toward Max, amusement dancing in them.
“She’s mine,” he said simply, possessively, as though that answered everything. Y/N, dazed, shifted in his lap, clearly drained yet completely unaware of how much control Lewis had over her.
Charles leaned forward, his usually soft features hardened with concern. “You’ve made her dependent on you. She can’t think straight anymore. It’s… unhealthy.”
Lewis smirked, brushing Y/N’s hair away from her neck as if showing off his work, her pale skin now littered with faint scars from where he had fed from her repeatedly. "She loves it," he said softly, almost too softly, running a finger along the bite marks. "Don’t you, love?"
Y/N, her voice weak, nodded, “Y-Yes… it feels good…” Her words were a hushed breath, as though she couldn’t quite find the strength to speak louder.
Lando, shifting uncomfortably in his chair, glanced at the others. “This is… this isn’t fair to her, Lewis. You’re not giving her a choice anymore.”
Lewis’s jaw clenched, and his eyes flared briefly with anger. “A choice?” His voice was venomous now. "She made her choice the moment she wanted to be with me. I’m giving her everything—pleasure, protection… she doesn’t need anything else."
But the room wasn’t convinced. Max leaned in closer, his eyes narrowing with irritation. “This isn’t about protection. You’re obsessed. You’re draining her, and not just her blood—you’re taking her will. There are rules for a reason, Lewis. You can’t keep feeding off a human like this. You know that.”
Charles nodded, his expression serious. “It’s cruel. She’s too weak to even realize what’s happening anymore.”
Lewis's lips curled into a dangerous smile, his fangs glinting under the dim light. "You think I care about your rules? I’m not like the rest of you. She’s mine, and I’ll do whatever I damn well please."
The tension in the room thickened, the air almost crackling with the electric undercurrent of their ancient power. The other vampires were powerful, yes, but there was something different about Lewis—an edge, a dominance that they couldn’t quite match. He reveled in it, in the control he held over Y/N, in the way she was utterly devoted to him without even realizing the extent of his manipulation.
Then, in an act that sent shockwaves through the room, Lewis bit into his own wrist, his eyes locked on Y/N’s half-conscious face.
The other drivers froze.
“No. No, Lewis, don’t—” Charles’s voice was laced with panic as he shot up from his seat.
But it was too late. Lewis pressed his bleeding wrist to Y/N’s lips, forcing her to drink his blood. "Drink, darling," he whispered in a low, hypnotic voice. "It’ll make you feel better."
Her lips parted weakly, and she obeyed, too far gone to resist. She drank from him, her eyes fluttering shut as the vampire blood coursed through her veins, healing her instantly. Her pale complexion gained color in an instant, the bite marks on her neck fading, disappearing altogether. But it wasn’t just her wounds that healed. She would be bound to him forever now, tied by the most sacred—and forbidden—act in their world.
Max shot to his feet, his face a mask of disbelief and fury. "You just—You gave her your blood! Are you insane? You can’t do that!"
Lando stood up too, shaking his head in shock. “You’ve broken the most important rule. You’ve just bound her to you forever. She’ll never be free of you now.”
Lewis remained calm, almost smug, as Y/N rested peacefully in his arms, her body revitalized by his blood. He ran a hand through her hair, brushing her cheek gently, as if daring them to challenge him.
"You all talk like you’re concerned for her," he said coolly, "but none of you could protect her like I can. None of you can give her what I do. She belongs to me now, fully."
Charles was seething. "That’s not your decision to make! She’s human! She didn’t agree to this!"
Lewis’s eyes flashed dangerously, his voice a low growl. "She doesn’t need to agree. I know what’s best for her."
The room was in chaos now, the drivers pacing, muttering angrily amongst themselves. But no one dared to confront Lewis directly. His power was too immense, too dangerous. They knew he’d crossed a line, but what could they do about it?
Max finally stepped forward, fury etched into every line of his face. "You’ve gone too far. This is bigger than just you and her, Lewis. You’ve broken every rule we have. You’ll be hunted for this."
Lewis stood slowly, Y/N still cradled in his arms as if she weighed nothing. His eyes locked onto Max’s, the challenge clear. "Let them hunt me. Let them try. They’ll never take her from me."
With that, he turned sharply, striding toward the door, Y/N held protectively against his chest. "We’re done here," he spat over his shoulder. "She’s mine, and I’m taking her far away from all of you. You’ll never see us again."
The other drivers watched in stunned silence as Lewis disappeared through the door, his power echoing in the room long after he was gone. They knew they had witnessed something forbidden, something dangerous—and they knew that Lewis Hamilton had just declared war on their world.
And there was nothing they could do to stop him.

ahhh i'm glad you like it!! and you're SPOT ON with the pampering and carrying the other peak lords do<3 whether he's in his small bird form or his big human form with large wings, doesn't matter, he's getting picked up!! (i love liu qingge playing taxi chauffeur and realizing with horror that he likes holding shen qingqiu in his arms a little too much🤭)
so so so, i was just thinking about preening, if this is a canon compliant au, and shen yuan got dropped off in another's body, he probably has no idea how to take care of his bird features, let alone his wings, like how to align the feathers, removing molted ones, dust bathing to remove excess and stale lipids so his plumage stays fluffy, or taking care of pin feathers (new pin feathers have a blood supply flowing through it, if the pin is damaged, it can bleed pretty heavily!), so he just... doesn't. no more than clumsily washing them when he bathes, anyway. and then his wings start itching, and hurting, and the feathers are all askew, and he has all these tattered clumps and pins that hurt when he picks at it and what is he supposed to do...???
naturally, people notice when the prim proper scholar's peak lord, with the perfect hair and flawless skin, has two disheveled wings trailing after him. some of them are worried it might be some sign of self-neglect (also bc it's specifically his demon features that look uncared for), and of course when shen qingqiu coughs once so to speak, yue qingyuan shows up at his doorstep; and i was thinkingggg..... different peak lords taking turns coming to his bamboo house for some casual wing care and preening..... in some bird species preening each other strengthens the trust and bond between the two, for crows it's even a big aspect of social bonding! crows preen their young, their mates, and sick or injured birds, so it's only nature that a ill-feeling shen qingqiu relies on his companions to help him when he's incapable himself...
also because i can't stop imagining shen qingqiu sprawled out across liu qingge or yue qingyuan's lap in bliss while they very carefully align his feathers and tease out molted ones, maybe freeing some matured pin feathers, feeling akin to having his hair brushed and played with while they take care of hard to reach places (thinking about how allopreening birds in nature often have less ticks/healthier plumage bc other birds reach places they can't, but shen jiu probably wouldn't let anyone touch his wings so some parts of them were always a little... messy).
some birds (like parrots) might even overpreen when exposed to strong scents, so all the peak lords quickly learn not to put on too much or heavy perfume because it makes shen qingqiu rub and dig into his wings until feathers fall out
(and i haven't even mentioned the sheer angst potential of stress plucking, but ahh this ask is already so long!!!)
OOOOH MY GOD!!! That's such a wholesome idea. I can already imagine it - and it's always a fight of who gets to preen Shen Qingqiu's wings, to the point where it actually turns into a fight (thanks to Liu Qingge) and it's almost an all-out brawl until Mu Qingfang (the only reasonable peak lord jhebus) makes everyone draw lots to see who gets to do it (- and then cheats because everyone else is so hyped up from the brawl, and his dear shixiong simply cannot deal with such stress!!). It becomes a natural thing to come up with different ways of deciding (unless Shen Qingqiu asks one, then the others just have to choke on vinegar(kiiiidding sort of)), and the peak lord who got to do it last time is not allowed to participate in the next game because that's unfair! Spitballing about how different peak lords go about offering it at first, if I may!! I think that Qi Qingqi would be actually quite gentle about it - she's used to helping out the girls with their hair and other things (shark week 😔😔), so she knows how to go about being like, "hey, I know we don't always get along but I'm going to help you out with your wings, 'kay?" and he is immediately just like "jesus christ please save me from this torment pleasepleaseplease" - kidding, kidding, he'd be much more hesitant about it because he knows that his wings are delicate and he needs to place his trust in whoever's touching them. Qi Qingqi has been...hostile towards him (because of Shen Jiu, so he can't be too offended), and this could be a moment of weakness (- jesus, bestie boo, I'm making him sound like Shen Jiu) but...his wings hurt :[ At first it's awkward, but then Shen Qingqiu relaxes and it does NOT become a gossip session (it should and it does, you can take that from my cold dead hands). Of course, Yue Qingyuan is the first to offer at all, being all like "xiao-Jiu plleeeaaasseeee 🥺" and who is Shen Qingqiu to resist those puppy dog eyes? He seems to have a history with Shen Jiu so it wouldn't be suspicious of him to deign to allow Yue Qingyuan to help out. Of course, Shen Jiu used to let Yue Qingyuan preen his wings on the streets (if we're going that route), so he's skilled and immediately makes Shen Qingqiu feel comfortable as he feels the itchy feeling in his wings FINALLY disappear with every movement the other man makes. Of course, he should be analysing so he can learn to do it himself but...he's so comfy :( When Liu Qingge first does it, it's on a mission! GASP!! Yue Qingyuan sent them on a mission together because it was a matter of both brute force that needed some form of plan involved that wasn't just "grab smash kill" (and mayyybe he wanted his shidi to bond, who cares? Shen Qingqiu has been a lot less hostile recently, and he's going to take advantage). So, they're out on this mission, and it's a LOT fucking harder than they first thought, leaving them waylaid in the forests (stereotypical I know but screw you (/j)). Shen Yuan's (for brevity's sake) wings are slowly getting worse and he's so very uncomfortable but he can't reach the worse bits so he forces himself to abandon his pride for a second and begrudgingly ask Liu Qingge for help! Obviously, Liu Qingge has no clue what he's doing and has to be guided by Shen Yuan (Liu Qingge later claims to not at all be nervous, but his hands were shaking because he didn't mind this new Shen Qingqiu and didn't reaally want to hurt him). The next time Shen Yuan needs his wings preening, Liu Qingge (literally) kicks the door down to offer to do it. He may seem overly aggressive when he manhandles the peak lord, but he's really quite gentle. I do want to yap about the other peak lords, but this answer's really long already!!! If you want me to, please let me know, because I severely want to expose myself as a Mu Qingfang and Wei Qingwei fan and PLEASE tell me more about the angst potential pretty please, I'll be like Yue Qingyuan at your door with puppy dog eyes. I'm INVESTED NOW, GOD.

She…What? Part Seven

Oscar Piastri, Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris x reader
Oscar admits to her that he’s not particularly experienced in the world of sex, yet he doesn’t feel as ashamed about it as he expected. Lando and Daniel have their usual hotel chat in which Lando reminds his friends of his impeding bedtime. Although the Australian would rather spend an evening with her

She pulled back slightly, remaining in his lap. "What do you mean, Oscar?" She whispered, eyes wide as her hands slid up his arms slowly. "I'm not really experienced with this kind of thing." The Australian's eyes were closed, hiding his embarrassment. "Ever? Or in terms of a contract relationship?" She questioned with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. Oscar's hands would have made dents in her skin if he was training any harder. "Well I've done some stuff. Just not all the way." A blush rose to his cheeks as she was finally able to see his eyes.
She slowly moved behind Oscar, wrapping her arms around his neck. "That's okay. Usually I'd be a bit of a tease and and walk away from you right now, leave you high and dry. But I don't have to tease you too much." She giggled resting her chin on top of his head, making his hair impossibly messier. "There's no need to be mean." He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest in disgust. "Hey. I'm not trying to be mean." She gasped in false offence, squeezing his arms playfully. "I'm just informing you of what you're getting involved with." She smiled, pulling away and standing up. "Then we can just talk for a while. Perhaps we can get to know each other better in that time, more than that you're a voyeur." She giggled, taking a small sip of wine, lifting the bottle up slightly. "I don't drink wine." Oscar started, getting up from the bed. "I can only have hard liquor, otherwise my trainer will complain." He finished, reaching for the bottle of whisky. "So you don't drink beer or cider either. Just the the stuff that will get you drunk quicker?" She asked in disbelief.
Oscar shook his head before speaking. "I hardly drink actually." He turned watching her slowly drink the red liquid, not once looking away from him. "That's going to change soon. Not just because you're winning races now." She smiled, moving through the room gracefully, noticing Oscar's lingering gaze. "You can speak you're mind, I wont judge you." He was finally pulled out of his gaze by her words. "I'm just taken aback." Oscar's filter slowly dissolving after a few sips of the drink. "You're gorgeous." He whispered once he was closer, reaching out to brush his fingers over her face.
Oscar was shocked with how forward he was being, yet he felt so draw in, and he didn't want to be let go. "How sweet of you Oscar." She smiled, pulling him in close, waiting for his reaction. The Australian could feel the blood pumping harshly through his body as his hands came up to cup her cheeks. He groaned quietly, finally feeling his lips against her, the level of relief he felt was unprecedented. Oscar pushed her down slowly, feeling his knee slip between her legs. He didn't know what came over him in that moment, his neurons were clearly delayed to his central nervous system. Oscar pulled back with a quiet 'sorry' before moving to the end of the bed, annoyed with himself, he wasn't one to wear his emotions on his sleeve and so sat there with a straight face, battling his thoughts. "Oscar." She repeated, trying to pull him out of the trance. "I know we said we would only talk, but that doesn't mean I'm upset with you." She reasoned, reaching for his drink and taking a small sip. He raised an eyebrow at her action but didn't move to stop her, if anything he wanted her to continue. He wanted her to completely consume him.
"What did you want to talk about?" Oscar struggled to get out, his nerves coming through. "What you like, what you want. Anything." She brought the whiskey up to his lips, waiting for him to finish the glass. He was definitely out of his depth here, almost alarmingly so. But Oscar would do anything she asked. "Okay then...I want to know more about how this relationship works, at least in your words." Oscar was always straight to the point she soon came to realise. "Well, it's really whatever you want it to be." She brought her hand up to his hair, running her fingers through the messy strands. "So what is it to Daniel and Lando?" He questioned, focusing on her lips, mainly the colour of the gloss. "You may have to ask them. But from my point of view it feels almost like friends with benefits, at least in a way. It's difficult to describe. But I've know Daniel much longer than Lando so it's a little bit different."
"In what way?" Oscar quizzed, he was clearly a person who liked research. "I suppose it's a bit more romantic with Daniel, at least in a way. He sorts out hotels, flights, holidays and so on. He's much more involved in my personal life than Lando. Not that either of them mind, it's what they want." Oscar was slightly overwhelmed with the information being fed to him, some was left up to his interpretation. "And if i wanted to be more involved with your personal life?" Oscar's eyes fell to his lap momentarily, as if he was preparing himself for the worst. "If that's what you want, then yes." A weight was lifted from the Australian's shoulders and a small smile adorned his face.
A small sigh escaped Oscar's lips before he spoke. "Okay, then how does this work logistically?" She stood up slowly, walking towards the open bottle of wine. "It depends, we all have to talk about certain things, but mostly just call or text me and we go from there. If I'm honest i wouldn't suggest waltzing into this, or any, hotel room. Then again, you like that so." She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm never hearing the end of that, am I?" She giggled and shook her head turning back towards him. "So, what do you like, or at least what do you want to try?" A wave of worry washed over him when her words finally registered, too focused on the way the robe presented her tits. "If I'm being completely honest, I've only done oral, both giving and receiving, but not a whole lot. So I'm not very good at it." Oscar's shame was apparent, he didn't think that he should be as inexperienced as he was, especially at his age. "That's not world ending, you can learn, you can experiment and find out what you like too. There's nothing wrong with that." She tried reassuring him, rubbing her hands over his arms softly. "I don't really know what I want to try."
At the same time, in Lando's hotel room, Daniel and Lando were discussing the ins and outs of the current relationship. "So, how do you feel about Oscar?" Lando questioned, jumping onto the bed in a childlike manner. "He's alright, we've had a proper chat so, I think it's all good now." Daniel started before placing himself on the end of the bed. "I was being bitter, he wanted the seat and he was concerned about me before signing so it's alright. I think if i drove that third year at McLaren it would have been a career ender for me, I don't even think RB would have me. So maybe Oscar signing was good for me. I don't know." Daniel trailed off looking at the ceiling, this was the first time he'd said such a thing out loud, and it felt good. "And how do you think he's gonna handle her?" Lando continued, rolling onto his stomach. "I think he'll be okay. She won't be as hard on him. She know's he wont be able to handle that level of teasing, I made sure of that." Daniel smirked, turning to see Lando's face.
"Oh really, it only took a few days to end her teasing."  Lando stated, looking up as if he was imagining the first time he was with her. "You had it easy. Seven months of back and forth flirting before I even had the chance to go out with her. Trust me, you're lucky." The Australian confirmed, pulling his jumper off. "So what? Oscar's gonna get her tomorrow?" Daniel laughed at his friend almost mockingly. "Oh no. She'll make him wait, tease Oscar enough to have him begging for her. It's what she does well. You know that. You just broke before I did." Daniel pulled his phone out of his pocket quickly, looking at the messages she had sent him. "That's not very nice." Lando's hand came up to his heart, clenching the shirt, trying to feign offence. "Don't be dramatic. The amount of times I got blue balls was unreal." Daniel sighed, shaking his head at the painful thought. "I didn't need to know that." Lando groaned, running his fingers through his hair. "Oh please, you've heard worse." He rolled his eyes, locking his phone and sliding it back into his pocket. "Going to bed? That's good, you don't need RB to give you a bedtime." Lando joked, lifting his head up. "No actually, I know what toys she brought so..." Daniel smirked, closing the door before he left.
Daniel hummed while walking through the hallway of the hotel, looking for room 609. He knocked loudly, excited to see her. "Hey Darling." He said in a husky voice, leaning against the doorframe. "Smooth." She laughed, pulling him into the room by the collar of his shirt. "So what did you learn?" Daniel's excitement was radiating from him as he walked towards her suitcase. "A few things, mostly that he's not that experienced." She stated, climbing on the bed, looking over at Daniel, who seemed to be in a very difficult internal debate. "Of course, both me and Lando are sluts. How could I forget." Daniel joked, walking back towards the bed. "You've got qualifying tomorrow, you need rest." She reasoned. Daniel had spent so much time and effort getting back into the sport, and she didn't want to be the reason he couldn't get a top seat. "It's fine Darling, it's not even late." Daniel emphasise his point by showing her his watch. She rolled her eyes playfully, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I can't believe you. Lando really is blind." Daniel laughed, stripping of his clothes. "You know I had to explain to him how long you were teasing me for. He didn't believe it." She stood up, slowly undoing the belt of the robe, letting it fall to the ground slowly, revealing lace underwear. She bent over slightly, reaching for the waistband before Daniel spoke. "I don't think so. Come here." He lifted his hand up, pulling her down. "And you complain about me teasing." She joked, reaching up to tug on his hair lightly. "Don't start with me, not tonight. And you were the one complaining about sleep, look at you now." Daniel hands came to rest behind her knees and he shifted his body slightly. His right hand traveled from her knee up to her thing, feather light touches teasing her. His fingers danced over her skin and his eyes shifted up, looking for a reaction. "Daniel." She scolded. "Oh government name. I really must be in trouble." Daniel's hands finally made it to her pelvis, toying with the lace before tugging on the waistband. Soon the sound of vibrating met her ears. "Danny." Her gasp bounced off the walls as her hands grasped the bedsheets. "Careful. Don't want Oscar to hear." Daniel's playful tone didn't go unnoticed. Daniel pressed the red vibrator onto her clit harshly, enjoying the look on her face. Daniel lifted the toy away from her before placing in back, teasing as much as he could. "That's it." He whispered, lifting her leg up higher, needing to get closer. She could feel the vibrations coursing through her whole body, sending goosebumps up her arms and pulling quiet moans form her lips. "Stop teasing me Danny." She spoke though gasps, eyes wide open, noticing the smirk adorning his face. "Oh but you like teasing"
Daniel was quick to push the lace to the side and line his cock up with her cunt, rubbing the tip over her clit lightly. "Always making me wait. Lucky I don't do the same to you." He uttered, slowly pushing his cock in, inch by inch. Her legs wrapped around Daniel's waist quicky, pulling him in closer. "That's it." She whispered as Daniel began to rock his hips, slowly to start, before he connected their lips. There was a level of almost unknown passion, almost as if she had manifested it. They both knew that there was a romantic aspect to their relationship, but even now, they were surprised. Daniel's hands didn't move from her skin. He wanted to be close to her, he didn't want her to ever leave him, he needed her with him. Daniel's groans and grunts filled the room as he got closer, her voice only edging him closer. "So close, Darling." The Australian gasps, pushing into her cunt fast, desperate to finish. "Gonna cum. Fuck." Daniel painted her stomach white with a loud groan, his head fell into the curve of her neck, panting loudly.
"So good to me, Darling." Daniel whispered into her skin, although those were the only coherent words the only ones she could understand. She threaded her hands through his hair, playing with his curls. "So pretty." The Australian had is eyes closed, thinking about their time together, from when they first met to six months ago. He focused on her, no matter if they were in a hotel or a beach, it was all her.
They laid on the bed in comfortable silence, just enjoying the feeling of each other. "We can shower in the morning, I just want to stay here." She whispered, pulling Daniel impossibly closer. He nodded into her skin before speaking, "Come here...Just want to stay with you." They shifted so they were covered with the quilt, Daniel's arms circled her middle, keeping her close. "What's the plan for tomorrow then?" She asked, looking up at Daniel with a sweet smile. "We'll go get some food and take a nice track walk before free practice." She nodded wordlessly, resting her head on his chest. Darkness filled the room as her eyes closed, feeling Daniel's fingers draw shapes mindlessly on her back. Just as sleep began to overtake her she felt Daniel kiss her cheek before she heard his words. "I love you, Darling."

heyy :) can i request small scenarios of s/o asking the kny hashira what hairstyle do they like the best on them?? (like braid, ponytail, bun, hair down etc etc) some fluff!!
demon slayer hcs: which hairstyles do the hashira prefer
characters: obanai, rengoku, sanemi, muichiro, mitsuri, tengen, shinobu, giyuu
warnings: i say meanie words
an: giyuu’s kinda sucked lol i’m sorry. i don’t write for gyomei
Tumblr media
OBANAI
i think obanai would prefer his partner to have a practical hairstyle
that way it doesn’t become an obstacle or even a danger if they come into contact with a demon
therefore he’d probably like his partner to wear their hair tied up in some way
whether it’s braided like mitsuri
or in a simple ponytail
as long as it’s outta the way and won’t become a safety hazard
bc with snake boy
your safety is his top priority
also!!
obanai is canonically down bad for his bae
so he’d also like his partners hair tied up so that it doesn’t obscure their face from his view
he likes to admire you
wants to see every inch of every expression that crosses your face
Tumblr media
RENGOKU
i’ve said this before in other hcs but imma restate it here
kyo is the ultimate service bf
will do EVERYTHING for you
including doing your hair
that being said
i feel like he’d do your hair exactly the same way he does his
the lil half up half down thing he got goin on?
it’s the only hair style he knows how to do lmfao
but!!
if you don’t prefer that hairstyle he would absolutely learn how to do other ones
would prob ask mitsuri to teach him how to do hair
he just wants you to be happy with the way you look
Tumblr media
SANEMI
BOYFRIENNDDDDDDD
he’s so gorgeous it makes me sick
my man’s likes long hair
now do NOT get it twisted!!
if you’re on a mission?
that hair better be tied tf up
ponytail, braids, bun, pigtails
he don’t care
but put it up
like obanai, your safety comes first
sanemi will tie your hair up himself if need be
it might get tangled… but it’ll be up
if you’re just chilling at the butterfly mansion or at his estate though…
he likes it down
he likes the way it flows down your back and frames your face
and when he’s feeling soft he likes to run his fingers through it
he thinks it makes you look more innocent and carefree
Tumblr media
MUICHIRO
he does not gaf
at all lmfaoooooo
okay that’s a lie
kinda
i feel like he doesn’t really care about the length of your hair
or the exact style you wear it in
but i do think he likes face framing bangs
not for any real reason
just that it accentuates your facial features
it draws more attention to just how cute you are
Tumblr media
MITSURI
oh you already know that y’all are about to be TWINNINGGGG
mitsuri is braiding your hair herself😤
i just know she’s so gentle with it too
she’s brushing your hair and detangling any stubborn knots
you don’t even feel the slightest tug on your scalp
did y’all’s moms ever pull tf outta your hair while they were doing ur hair when u were little?
i learned to do my own hair rly young cause she was so rough… just me? oh okay
ANYWAYS
yk when you used to plan to wear the same outfits as your friends when you were younger?
the whole “let’s both wear a skirt tomorrow” type thing?
that’s mitsuri but with your hair
and it’s every single day
queen
Tumblr media
TENGEN
he does not have to be THAT fine bro tell the animators to calm down
ik they be animating him with one hand if ykwim lmfaoo
*ahem* anyways
another one that does not gaf what you do with your hair
as long as it’s ✨flashy✨
and by flashy i mean he wants it to be something that makes you feel and look confident
cause confidence is sexy af
period
now he does want you to keep up your hair maintenance
and by hair maintenance
i mean make sure that hair dye stays fresh
those split ends? trimmed
and keep that shit washed and clean too
other than hair maintenance i don’t think he’s that picky
every once in a while he might suggest a hairstyle he thinks would suit you
but ultimately it’s your decision
also i think he’s really good at doing hair
i mean the man has 3 wives already
if you think he’s not helping them style theirs… your wrong
Tumblr media
SHINOBU
mommy? sorry… mommy?
i think she’d prefer your hair to be tied up in a bun
she likes to see your face
study your expressions
she likes being able to read you
things you like, dislike, and how you react to certain things
not only does she think you’re adorable
but she thinks your facial expressions are entertaining as well
she’s gonna help you do your hair
and she’s def the best at doing hair compared to the other hashira
she’s gonna have you looking good asf
not a hair out of place
Tumblr media
GIYUU
water boy likes short hair
not super short
like below the chin but just barely above the shoulders
idk why i just feel it in my bones
also the cute wispy bangs covering your forehead
yeah
i can’t come up with a reason for this i just think it fits lmfao sorry

jealousy, jealousy | Arthur hill
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Angst.
It started with a stupid comment, one of those offhand remarks that shouldn’t have meant anything but hit harder than it should have. We were at a party, the music pounding, the room crowded with faces I barely recognized. Arthur had been standing by the bar, laughing with some girl I didn’t know—a tall, effortlessly gorgeous blonde who had been flipping her hair and leaning in just a little too close for comfort.
When he came back to me, drink in hand, I couldn’t help the sharp edge in my voice. “Making friends?”
Arthur raised an eyebrow, his usual smirk tugging at his lips. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh, nothing,” I said, crossing my arms, the words already dripping with sarcasm. “Just looked like you and Barbie were hitting it off.”
And that was all it took.
“What, I can’t have a conversation without you getting jealous?” Arthur snapped, his tone harsher than I expected.
“I’m not jealous!” I shot back, though the heat in my cheeks said otherwise. “I just don’t appreciate you giving her all your attention while I’m standing here like an idiot.”
Arthur’s eyes narrowed, the tension between us thickening. “You’re being ridiculous.”
“And you’re being an asshole,” I retorted, stepping closer, the space between us crackling like a live wire.
The argument spiraled fast, our voices rising above the music, drawing a few curious glances from nearby partygoers.
“She’s just a girl,” Arthur said, his hands gesturing wildly. “You’re the one I’m here with. What more do you want from me?”
“What I want,” I hissed, my voice sharp enough to cut, “is for you to stop acting like I’m overreacting every time you flirt with someone.”
Arthur barked out a laugh, though there was no humor in it. “You think that was flirting? God, you’re impossible.”
“Oh, I’m impossible?” I shot back, shoving his chest. “You’re the one who can’t go five minutes without charming someone new!”
“You’re unbelievable,” he growled, stepping closer, his voice dropping to a dangerous low. “Always looking for a fight, aren’t you?”
“Maybe I wouldn’t have to if you didn’t give me so many reasons!” I shouted, my chest heaving as the anger bubbled over.
Arthur’s jaw tightened, his eyes dark with frustration—and something else. Something that sent a shiver down my spine despite the heat of the argument. He stepped closer still, his body crowding mine, and for a moment, I thought he was going to shout again.
Instead, his voice dropped, low and rough. “You know what your problem is?”
I glared up at him, my breath hitching at the intensity in his gaze. “Enlighten me.”
“You like this,” he said, his lips curling into that maddening smirk. “You love pushing me, getting me all riled up. It gets you off, doesn’t it?”
My stomach flipped, and I hated how right he was.
“Shut up,” I said, though my voice had lost its bite.
Arthur took my chin in his hand, his thumb brushing over my jaw as he tilted my face up to meet his gaze. “No, I don’t think I will.” His eyes searched mine, the tension between us shifting, turning hotter, heavier.
“Arthur—”
But before I could finish, his lips crashed into mine.
The kiss was fierce, consuming, a collision of frustration and passion that sent sparks flying between us. His hands slid to my face, his touch firm, possessive, as if he was staking his claim all over again. My fingers tangled in his shirt, pulling him closer, and the world around us disappeared.
When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against mine, both of us breathing hard. “You drive me crazy,” he murmured, his voice low and husky.
I smirked, my lips brushing against his as I whispered, “Good.”
Arthur chuckled, the sound warm and rich, and then he kissed me again, softer this time, though no less intense. The argument forgotten, we lost ourselves in the fire that always seemed to burn between us, a flame that only grew brighter when we clashed.

Hello!! I was wondering if you could make some headcanons for Sigma, Fyodor and Lovecraft with a very "masculine" fem reader... They're dating but she's usually the one wearing the pants in the relationship and the taller one, stronger too!
———﹒♡﹒ My universe, my everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
characters﹒ Sigma, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Howard Philips Lovecraft.
fandom﹒ bungo stray dogs
genre﹒ fluff, romance
This post might contain incorrect grammar/spelling and out of character, it also might be a little bit too cringe, proceed at your own risk.
Tumblr media
— ﹒﹒ Sigma ☆
Tumblr media
— Sigma is a man who seeks stability and reassurance; hence, I feel like he would feel very comforted to have somebody strong and confident by his side. Your taller height and commanding demeanor would be like a shield to him tbh, particularly when anxious or unsure.
— Privately, Sigma would be in quiet awe of how capable you are, he'd be constantly watching in wonder as you handle situations with ease, never to outwardly say such a thing. His actions would betray this, however, such as helping you when he doesn't need to.
— Fairness in a relationship is what Sigma seeks, so he would respect your strength but would still want to try to contribute in his own way. He may insist on cooking small meals or just getting organized to prove to you that he can be of service too.
— I think Sigma would struggle a bit with the attention you attract from others; your height and confidence would naturally draw eyes. He wouldn't get jealous but might feel insecure, often wondering, Why would someone like you even choose me?
— On bad days, Sigma retreats a bit, thinking you are worth someone much stronger. If you had caught his mood, in one split second he'd brush it off, saying something like, "I was just... thinking. That's all." He won't admit to feelings of inadequacy, but your reassurance definitely would mean the world to him.
— Insecure as he is, Sigma would have these moments of silent pride when you're together. He'd smile faintly when you stood up for him or dealt with some problem with ease and thought, That's my partner.
Tumblr media
— ﹒﹒ Fyodor ☆
Tumblr media
— I feel that Fyodor would find your strength fascinating but show it rarely. He'd make those random cryptic remarks about it, like, "Strength is often misunderstood. Yours is... unusual, but not unwelcome."
— Fyodor appreciates brains and strategy more than he does brawn, and for that reason, your physical prowess would not intimidate him but be viewed by him as quite useful for his plans. He often says things like: "It's good to have someone reliable for certain tasks."
— I imagine he'd test you subtly, observing how you handle difficult situations to gauge your capabilities. If you impressed him, he'd give a small, approving nod but wouldn't praise you openly, it's just not his style.
— He'd quietly enjoy other people's reactions to your dynamic, for instance, people underestimating you because of your gender or appearance and getting proved wrong, he'd find it darkly amusing and maybe even tease you about it later.
— In the manner he does seem to have reserved calmness about him, at moments when I'd have thought Fyodor would simply revel in watching you take charge, with that slight smile sit back and later say, "You're quite efficient. Perhaps too efficient."
— Fyodor's not one who gets ruffled easily, but I think he'd have moments of surprise when you show affection in your own strong, commanding way-say, pulling him into a hug or messing up his hair. He'd freeze up for a second before softly muttering, "You're absolutely insufferable." But you know that he'd be secretly into it.
Tumblr media
— ﹒﹒ Lovecraft ☆
Tumblr media
— Lovecraft is pretty indifferent to social norms, so I feel like your height, strength, or "masculine" traits wouldn't even register to him as unusual. To him, you're simply you, and that's all that matters.
— Lovecraft would appreciate your practicality and decisiveness, especially since he tends to be passive. He'd rely on you to handle most interactions with the human world while he quietly follows along, content to let you lead.
— Lovecraft might not show much outward emotion, but he'd show his appreciation through actions. For instance, he'd wordlessly help you with small tasks or ensure your space is comfortable, even if he doesn't say anything.
— I feel like he would be comforted by your presence in moments of silence. If you are sitting together, he might lean against you absent mindedly or rest his head on your shoulder, drawn by the stability you reflect.
— Despite his aloof nature, Lovecraft would notice when you’re overextending yourself. He’d softly suggest resting or stepping back, saying something like, “Even strong things break if pushed too hard.” It’d be his quiet way of showing he cares.
— He would never be angry or uncomfortable should you ever tease him about being the "smaller" or weaker partner; all he would say in response is something like, "Size means little to me. Strength is strength, no matter what shape it comes in."
Tumblr media
— Author's note
﹒﹀﹒ I just realized tumblr exist and checked it yesterday, and realized that there were probably a lot of people requesting and yet... I forgot, I'm genuinely sorry for those who requested but never receive them, if you still want me to do the request you can request again and I'll try to do them as fast as I can. Lovecraft is a little bit hard to write, but I did get used to it.

Swampbound I
Tumblr media
Adla had lived in Florida her whole life, yet the strange debris that washed ashore after storms still startled her. Broken tree limbs and splintered pieces of homes were expected, but today was different.
Tangled in seaweed, she spotted frantic turtle hatchlings, frogs, and crabs struggling to reclaim their place in the chaos. But nothing compared to the sight before her: a bloody, mangled deer carcass lying in the tall grass, torn flesh and fur clinging to shredded cloth.
Her instincts screamed at her to turn back, but curiosity pulled her closer. Kneeling down, she caught the metallic scent of blood, and a chill gripped her. Something violent had occurred.
A gator? No, they dragged their prey into the water. Maybe a hawk? But even a bird of prey wouldn’t leave this kind of mess. Could it be a bobcat? They prowled these swamps, opportunistic in their hunting. But as she examined the prints—large, wolf-like, and deeper than any she’d seen—her heart raced. Four parallel prints faded into something far stranger: two flatter, elongated impressions.
Like feet.
Human feet.
The footprints were far too big to be hers, and she knew she was alone out there. The air felt thick, the swamp unnaturally quiet, as if the world was holding its breath. Her father’s voice echoed in her mind: “Never run from a person or an animal. Running makes you prey.”
She gripped her hunting knife, steadying her wrist, eyes scanning the brush for hidden dangers but there was nothing– no one hiding in the bushes, no animal stalking her. Just thick humidity, carrying the earthy scent of wet soil and decaying leaves.
Time to head back.
As she treaded carefully over the spongy ground, the low rumble of an engine caught her attention. She hadn’t expected company—she rarely did. As a child, she’d hated the isolation of this place, but now it felt like a shield.
Rushing up the muddy incline, her boots kicked loose clumps of earth. At the porch of her old Cracker house, she leaned against the weathered wood, squinting down the overgrown path. A boxy, faded green Jeep Cherokee bounced along the uneven track.
Jesse Hampton. Of course.
Tumblr media
He stepped out, scanning the trees before his gaze settled on her. His mahogany skin glistened under the humid sun, damp shirt clinging to his chest, hair wild from the moisture. Stubble covered his jaw—unusual for him but understandable after the chaos of the storm. Even so, he was as handsome as ever.
“Addy,” he called, voice steady but laced with urgency. “You shouldn’t be out here alone.” His gaze darted behind her, searching the shadows. “I know it seems all quiet and nice, but it ain’t safe.”
She rolled her eyes, not wanting to give him more reason to worry. “You’re soundin’ just like my father.”
Jesse’s expression tightened, something unspoken hanging between them. He stepped closer, lowering his voice. “Promise me you’ll be careful. You got a light in you that draws eyes—sometimes the wrong ones.”
His words hung heavy, and a flicker of fear flashed in her eyes. “You’re fussing over nothing. I’m just fine,” she shot back, but unease gnawed at her. Jesse knew something she didn’t.
“What you doing out here, anyway?” she asked, folding her arms.
“Do I need a reason?” he countered, flashing that charming smile of his.
“You always got a reason when you show up without warning. So, what’s the scoop this time?”
Jesse owned a busy convenience store in town but thrived on side hustles, always finding a way to get by. She admired his resourcefulness, but it was a reminder that he always had some angle he was working.
“Just wanted to check on you, see how you’re faring after the storm. But if I ain’t welcome…” He paused, putting on a mock-serious face. “I can just as easily turn right back around.”
“Yeah, right,” she scoffed, turning away as she ascended the steps. “You say that every time, but you always wind up inside.” She shot him a teasing grin over her shoulder. “You don’t even bother asking to come in anymore.”
“After all the times I’ve been ‘round, why would I ask?” He leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a playful spark in his eye. “Sometimes late at night, if I remember right.”
Adla shook her head, heading toward the kitchen. “That ain’t the same thing, and you know it.”
She opened the fridge and grabbed a pitcher of cold water, pouring a glass and handing it to him. Their fingers brushed, igniting that familiar spark that always hung in the air between them.
“Why you gotta say it like that?” Jesse asked, his brow furrowing as he took a sip from his glass.
“‘Cause you gotta get it, Jesse,” Adla replied, picking her words with care. “I ain’t one for surprises. You should’ve let me know you were coming before just poppin’ up like this.” She forced a sweet smile, hoping to ease the sting. Before anything, he was her closest friend, and the last thing she wanted was to hurt him.
He leaned casually against the counter, a sly grin spreading across his face. Adla considered asking if he’d been snooping around her property—Jesse had a knack for being sneaky—but thought better of it. Questions would only lead to more questions.
“I thought I was special,” he inched closer, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Oh, really? Where’d you get that idea from?” She raised an eyebrow, her lips twitching with amusement.
“Just a hunch,” he said, tugging at a tight curl in her ponytail, the spiral bouncing back like a rubber band. He leaned in to whisper, “I figured if I play my cards right and keep doing that thing you like, I might get a little something in return.”
She fought to hold back a smile. “Like what exactly?”
“Ain’t askin’ for much. Just the freedom to come and go when I feel like it.” Jesse leaned in for a kiss, his lips hovering just shy of hers. Adla pushed against his broad chest, stopping him.
Jesse was fine as hell—fit, sharp, and always finding a way out of trouble. She liked being around him, sure, but no one—not even him—was about to think they had a hold on her. She ran her own life, and settling down wasn’t in the cards, especially when she knew other women were likely getting a taste of that same charm and quick thinking too.
“Nope, not a chance,” she said, playful but firm, shaking her head. “But since you’re already here, I could use your help with something.”
“Oh really?” he replied, his interest piqued. “What you need?”
“Help me set these traps and see what washed up after that storm,” she said, stealing a quick sip from his cup. She wanted to catch some crabs and fish to fill up her freezer, and the thought of going back into the woods alone made her uneasy.
“Aww, man,” he groaned dramatically. “I should’ve known coming over here meant I’d have to work. You’re a real slave driver, you know that?”
They settled into a rhythm, working side by side, their comfortable banter broken by the silence of the storm’s aftermath. They inspected her garden for damage while Jesse filled her in on town gossip—apparently, Mrs. Flowers had been caught in Mr. Jenkins’ house by Mr. Flowers. Uprooted mustard greens littered the ground as Adla pulled them up, but thankfully, the okra and sweet potatoes had weathered the storm. She just hoped the excess moisture wouldn’t lead to rot.
Moving on to the fishing nets and traps, they stumbled upon something concerning.
A mountain of fish heads littered the reeds where she usually set her traps, alongside crab shells stripped of their claws and backs. This wasn’t the typical damage—something worse lurked here, disturbingly messy and uncharacteristic of the area’s usual predators.
“What in the world?” Adla muttered, her heart racing as she scanned the ground for prints. “You think it was a gator?
“A gator wouldn’t leave pieces like this,” Jesse replied, his brow furrowing.
“Something else made this mess,” she finished, feeling her skin prickling as those unsettling feelings from earlier came rushing back. She described the strange prints and the shredded carcass she’d seen to Jesse, who listened closely, rubbing her shoulders to calm her down.
“You shouldn't be out here tonight, Addy. Why don’t you come stay with me?”
Apprehension settled in her gut about what the darkness might bring, but she couldn’t accept his offer. His grandmother’s old house might be just down the road, but it felt wrong to spend the night in another woman’s home—even if she had adored Adla.
Plus, sneaking around with Jesse where anyone could see was out of the question. She refused to give anyone the chance to stir up drama or question her independence. She couldn’t bear the thought of becoming the next Mrs. Flowers, her good name dragged through the mud for all who would listen.
“No one—and nothing—is going to run me out of my house,” she said, half to him, half to herself. This place was her sanctuary, the fruit of her struggles and her ancestors' labor. They had fought hard for this land, and she felt a fierce pride in maintaining it. Out in the wilderness, peace was something earned, not given. She would defend her home if it came to that.
“You don’t know what’s lurking out here, and you think it’s smart to be by yourself? That don’t make no sense, baby doll,” Jesse insisted, his usual persistence edged with urgency.
“Don't call me that. I’m not your ‘baby doll,’” she shot back, irritation flaring. She knew what was good for her better than anyone else ever could. Jesse had been testing her boundaries too much lately.
“I already told you—I’m staying. You should head out on out here before dark.”
“Don’t be like that—” he started, his voice smooth and sweet like molasses. Today, though, she wasn’t falling for it.
“Go on,” she said, stepping in close to block his path. “I’ll finish up and lock everything up tight, but I need you to leave now.”
Jesse met her eyes, noticing the resolve etched into her expression. Adla stood firm, arms crossed, one hip jutting out, her nose wrinkled just so. She had made up her mind, and he knew he’d already pushed her enough for one day.
“Alright, I’m on my way,” he agreed. “But you promise me you ain’t stepping outside tonight. Whatever you do, don’t go crossing that threshold.”
Adla frowned at his strange phrasing. “Why would I be out here? I ain’t foolish enough to roam around at night." His shoulders were knotted with tension. "What’s got you so riled up?”
“Just trust me on this,” he insisted, locking eyes with her, his expression serious. “You’ll be safe, no matter what, if you just stay inside tonight.”
Last she checked, danger didn’t give a damn about doors, windows, or any other barriers. But it was clear he wouldn’t leave until she agreed.
“Alright, fine,” she said, stretching out the words, “I’ll stay in tonight. Not like I was gonna be out and about anyway.”
“Good,” Jesse smiled, wrapping her up in his arms tight. “I’ll call you later, and you better pick up. If you don’t, I’ll be back, whether you want me to or not.” As he turned to leave, Adla couldn’t help but smile after him. Jesse could be a handful, but beneath his cool front, she knew he cared for her just as fiercely as she did for him. In the wild expanse of the Florida swamps, that bond meant everything.
He lingered in the driveway while she hurried to gather crab shells, tossing them into the compost bin—no sense letting them go to waste. He didn’t start his engine until she was safely inside with the door closed, waving goodbye from the street as she watched from the window.
After locking up, she sank into a well-deserved bubble bath, a sweet reward for a hard day’s work. The clawfoot tub, older than her but still in solid shape, had become a cherished fixture in her home. The bathroom, filled with the scent of incense and candles, wrapped around her like a familiar hug. After her father passed, her first goal had been to breathe life back into the old house, make it her own.
Reminders of him were everywhere—the doorframe where he marked her height on the first day of school, the cast-iron pans he used for dinner. But mostly, the house was hers now—weathered, yet undeniably new in its own way.
Her time in the city felt like a world away from the peace she found here. Juggling multiple jobs just to make ends meet, she was always surrounded by nosy neighbors and men who didn’t know how to take no for an answer. But the worst part was the stalker—a shadowy figure who slipped chilling notes under her apartment door. I know who you are. What you can do. It left her confused and drained, but she didn’t tuck tail and run back home until her father passed away.
The guilt of not being there at the end haunted her, so she kept busy. Her part-time job at the new bed-and-breakfast in town helped pay the bills, and on weekends, she sold her art—sculptures made from found objects—at a flea market a couple of towns over. Every spare moment was spent creating with her hands. Her life wasn’t glamorous, but the peace and was worth more than anything else.
“When You’re Young and in Love” by The Marvelettes played softly on the record player, one of her mother’s favorites. She couldn’t quite relate to the notion of being swept off her feet but it sounded good, romantic even. Her daddy had been left in pieces when her mama died, never even thinking about finding another. She yearned for a love that strong, but the idea also chilled her to the bone.
She had only a handful of pictures, but from those, Adla saw the resemblance. She inherited her father’s level-headed temperament, but her rich skin tone, flat nose, and wide, expressive eyes—all of that came from her mother. Those features made her feel close to the woman whose absence she felt deeply.
With a sigh, Adla rose from the cool water, wrapping a towel around her waist. Her earlier worries faded as she slathered on cocoa butter lotion and slipped into a floral-patterned cotton nightgown.
After her nighttime routine of checking the locks and lights, she settled in. The old wooden floors creaked softly underfoot—a comforting sound that added to the home’s charm.
Just as she was about to crawl into bed, faint sounds from outside caught her ear—rhythmic scraping and thumping carried on the wind. Strange noises weren’t rare out in the boonies, but this one sent a shiver down her spine. Something was different. She paused in the hallway, glancing toward the door.
A tug, almost physical, pulled her toward it, despite Jesse’s warnings. It was as if something—someone—was calling her, and the urge was too strong to ignore.
The door creaked as she pushed it open. Through the screen, she squinted, trying to make sense of the dim shapes outside. A flicker of movement caught her eye, and in the cool moonlight, she saw it—something massive. A shadow loomed over the porch, too large to be any regular animal.
A knot twisted in her gut. It wasn’t a bobcat. This was more like a coyote—if coyotes were massive. No, this creature looked more like a wolf, except wolves didn’t roam Florida’s saltwater jungle.
Its amber eyes glowed like lanterns in the dark, locking onto hers with an intensity that left her feeling ice-cold. Jesse’s warnings echoed in her mind. Was this creature more than it seemed?
I know this fool ain’t lookin’ at me like I’m dinner. Adla squared her shoulders. “You don’t belong here,” she hollered, “Now, git! Get on outta here!”
The wolf growled low and deep, the frightening sound vibrating through the night air. It took a shaky step forward, and she noticed it was limping. A deep, ugly gash ran from its back down to its hind leg, blood darkening the wooden porch.
She didn’t move. Something about the creature—its pain, its presence—held her still. It was more than an injured beast. She couldn’t explain it, but she felt rooted to the spot.
A wave of instinct surged through her, a primal warning that clashed with her fear.
“Don’t you dare come any closer!” she warned, reaching for the shotgun above the door, her gaze locked on the approaching creature. She raised the gun, aiming through the screen, her finger on the trigger.
If it took just one more step forward—
The wolf paused at the door’s edge, held back by something unseen, something stronger than the flimsy screen. Her eyes flicked to the threshold, recalling Jesse’s cryptic words about things not crossing certain lines.
This was it. A choice. But Adla hesitated, her finger hovering over the trigger. She couldn’t pull it.
The wolf whined, collapsing in a heap at her feet, its strength giving out. Its amber eyes, still glowing, held no aggression—only a silent plea. The sight tugged at something deep inside her, stirring memories of her own struggles.
Her father’s words echoed in her mind: “Respect the creatures out here, just like you respect yourself. Life’s tough enough without us makin’ it harder on each other.”
Adla sighed, lowering the shotgun. The wolf’s blood was already drying on the porch. Tomorrow, she’d scrub it clean, but for tonight, she’d let the creature stay. She hoped it would make it through the night.
After triple-checking the locks, she placed the shotgun within arm’s reach and settled into bed, the creaking floorboards beneath her a familiar lullaby. Yet, the strange pull toward the wolf lingered in her mind. Maybe it wasn’t just an animal, but something deeper—a reflection of her own struggles, a sign from her father. Whatever it was, she’d reckon with it tomorrow. For now, she surrendered to sleep, trusting that both she and the wolf would survive the night.

Heyyy can u plz write a season one Bellamy blake x reader griffin/Kane SMUT where they are enemies and leaders of the 100 but don't see eye to eye on anything but have too much sexual tension and attraction towards each other and decide to give into their desire for one night cause they think if they screw each other they get their attraction out of their system?
Invisible String [B.B]
Tumblr media
summary: hating him was easier than loving him. especially when clarke went through so much trouble to keep them away from each other. but for some reason, her attraction to him was much larger than her dignity
pairings: bellamy blake x caroline griffin (oc) a/n: the oc has no description, so feel free to imagine whoever you wish, I just write better when the main character has a name
tags: (18+) wells jaha lives, cursing, the nickname "princess" cause it's kind of cringey but fits their dynamic, SMUT; hate sex, (kinda) dom!bellamy, dirty talk, hate sex, hair pulling
Hating Bellamy Blake was almost too easy.
He was too cocky for his own good and was even worse at listening to orders than Caroline. He had been tormenting her, her sister and Wells since they landed.
But a long time has passed since their first days on Earth. The camp was functioning well and Caroline and Clarke found a way to work with Bellamy. After a kid died and Murphy was banished after being accused of killing some privileged kid, they formed a truce. Bellamy was the one leading the hunting trips and watching over the delinquents who were building the wall, Clarke was in charge of keeping the peace with the Grounders (the liberty of her having a thing with their Commander) and Caroline decided who got which job and worked with Raven to make radios and get in contact with The Ark.
She was not that thrilled about her mother coming down because, before she got arrested, she was not exactly mother of the year. Still, she felt guilty about the innocent people who were dying up there while there was a safe planet waiting for them.
Caroline let out a sigh and stood up, instantly drawing Raven’s attention to herself. She wiped her sweat off of her face with a rag and placed it down on the table, before saying, “I think that I’m done for today. I have to discuss some stuff with Bellamy.”
Raven snorted and raised an amused eyebrow, her tone taunting. “Oh, I bet. So much for staying away from him.”
The Griffin rolled her eyes at the reminder of her sister’s warning and wordlessly walked out of their work tent. Bellamy was very blunt with his flirting when they weren’t spitting insults at each other and when he wasn’t sleeping with half of the camp. Caroline was slightly annoyed and brushed it off quickly, but Clarke was down-right pissed. Her protective older sister was on and she was quick to tell Caroline how bad of an idea getting involved with Bellamy was. Her lecture was at least five minutes long but Caroline did not listen to a word that she said. She was not stupid. She knew that even flirting with Bellamy was a bad idea, but she was not planning on it. She liked to believe that she had standards.
“Hey, Princess.” Bellamy greeted her when she entered his tent without knocking. “You’re early.”
“No, you just slept in.” Caroline deadpanned while scanning his bare chest with a blank look on her face while he sat on the edge of his makeshift bed. “Some of us have been up and working for hours.”
Okay, yes, Bellamy was an asshole. But he was a hot asshole. If you asked her, she would say that the fact that he was annoying only made him more attractive. But that might just be her daddy issues talking.
He furrowed his eyebrows and asked, “Shit, is it really late?”
“Yeah, it’s almost lunch.” She shrugged and walked across his tent to grab one of his shirts. She absentmindedly threw it on him, silently telling him to get dressed. “I told Wells to let you sleep. You were keeping guard pretty late last night.”
She told herself that it was because he needed his eight hours of sleep if he was going to function properly. He was even more grumpy when he slept for only two hours.
Bellamy’s lips tugged into a grin and then fell open as he let out a dramatic gasp. “Was that you being nice?” She rolled her eyes and he was quick to add, “I’m sorry, I only ever saw you being nice to Clarke and Wells. Is it snowing outside?”
“Shut up.” Caroline muttered, her eyes involuntarily flickering toward his hands. “Just get dressed. We have work to do.”
He grabbed the blue shirt that she gave him but made no move to put it on. He simply raised a knowing eyebrow. “Are you sure that you want me to do that? You don’t want to keep checking me out?”
Caroline felt heat rushing to her face. Her mouth opened and closed a couple of times, but no words came out and she was desperately trying to find something to say. A couple of seconds later, she simply blurted out, “Don’t flatter yourself. You’re not that good looking.”
His smirk only grew. “Oh, so I’m not that good looking?” He stepped closer and she wished that the ground would swallow her whole. “I knew you liked me, Princess.”
“You wish,” She shot back, but made no move to step away from him. His scent was intoxicating and she could not look away from his face. His dark eyes were flickering between her eyes and her lips and she swore that they only got darker when her breath hitched.
Bellamy lifted his hand to brush some of her hair away from the face and he licked his lips, an action that only made her stare at his lips longer. He pushed his face closer to her own and just as he was about to lock their lips together, Wells’ voice rang through the air.
“Bellamy, did you take my─” He cut himself off when he looked up from the ground to see his best friend standing inappropriately close to the guy that she hated for months. His eyebrows shot up in surprise and he silently looked back and forth between the two of them for a couple of moments. He swallowed and awkwardly croaked out, “I’ll come back later. Or never. Probably never.”
Caroline watched the place he was standing at a couple of seconds ago in shock. She quickly stepped away from Bellamy and cleared her throat. “Get dressed and meet me in the map tent.”
Bellamy watched her leave the tent in a rush and chuckled to himself the second she left.
-
Caroline wished that they could simply work in silence, each on their own side of the tent. After what happened earlier that morning, the last thing that she needed was to spent the next couple of hours before lunch with Bellamy. Especially because he seemed completely unfazed. If anything, his amusement only grew every time he would catch her staring at him which would lead to her having to look away or narrow her eyes into a glare to seem annoyed rather than flustered.
He saw right through her. That might be the reason why she hated him so much. She had always tried to keep her walls up as high as possible because she was afraid of letting people in. But Bellamy could read her like an open book.
“We should move Jasper from the gate and get Miller there.” Caroline suggested as she leaned over the map of their camp. “I love him to death but he runs at the first sight of danger. There is no one better than Miller. I trust him to stay there more than anyone.”
Bellamy surprised her by shaking his head. Her eyebrows furrowed. Was Miller not his best friend? “Guarding the gate is a big responsibility, yes, but it’s also dangerous. The guards there are usually the first to go. We have to put someone disposable there.”
Caroline let out a humorless laugh and looked at him in disbelief. “Are you kidding me? No one in this camp is disposable. We put the most competent person there, no matter how much either one of us cares about him.”
The Blake shrugged. “I don’t know if losing him is worth it.”
“And losing someone else is?” She retorted and stepped away from the table and scoffed. “I cannot believe you. You talk shit about The Ark, Jaha and the privileged for sending us here and labeling us as disposable but you are not any different. For some reason, those kids out there trust you but you are willing to sacrifice any of them if it means saving your ass and the two people you care about.”
Bellamy clenched his jaw, his eyes flashing with anger the second that she compared him to the monsters that killed his mother and locked up his sister. He stepped closer to her and glared down at her. “Stop pretending that you know me, Princess. You can’t psychoanalyze everyone in your life just because of one decision they make.”
Caroline glared back at him, not intimidated. “And you can judge people based on who their parents are? That’s ironic. I would not be surprised if you were planning to tell me that I should guard the gate since you clearly hate me so much. Putting me there is the easiest way to get rid of me, right?”
“Maybe I do hate you?” His words made her falter in surprise. “How can I not? You always have something to say about every decision I make. You take every opportunity to argue with me. Whenever I think that we are starting to see eye to eye, you do another thing to drive me crazy. And I hate myself for it a lot more than I hate you because despite you being everything that I’m against I still…” Bellamy did not finish his sentence and simply stared at the clueless look on her face. After a couple of seconds of silence, he muttered, “Fuck it.”
Caroline stumbled back in surprise which led to her sitting on the desk. Before she got the chance to kiss him back, he pulled away. His breath fanned across her lips and he stared at her, trying to find any hint of disgust or hesitance. He did not find any. But this time, she was the one that kissed him. She gripped his shirt to keep him closer while one of his hands tangled in her hair. Her breath hitched when he used his grip on her cair to pull her head down in order to reveal her neck. He did not think twice before he messily started placing open-mouthed kisses over her exposed collar bone.
She moaned and spread her legs so he could comfortably stand between them. His other hand found her waist and she ran her fingers through his hair, pulling on his curls lightly to spur him on. He pushed down her shirt to reveal her bra so he could keep sucking hickies down to her breats. The hand on her waist squeezed it and he paused, squeezing his eyes shut to get it together.
“Did you─ did you ever have sex?” Bellamy asked, his dark eyes practically piercing through her soul.
Caroline’s eyes almost softened at the genuine worry in his voice. He was grounded enough to ask the eighteen year old, who spent the last six years of her life locked up, if she was a virgin or not. Luckily, after Clarke broke Wells’ heart, she was more than fine with being his rebound to keep her mind off of other things.
She rapidly nodded, tugging at his shirt so he could get back to what he was doing before.
“Words, Caroline,”
Caroline. Not Princess or Baby Griffin. Just Caroline.
“Yes.” She breathed out. “I had sex before. Now stop being so uncharacteristically considerate and kiss me.”
Bellamy did not need to be told twice. He leaned back down to kiss her and her hands quickly found their way around his neck to pull him closer to her despite them already being chest-to-chest. His tongue slipped into her mouth and easily won the short battle for dominance.
Caroline placed her hands on his chest to push him away. He gave her a confused look which disappeared when she pulled her shirt over her head. He smirked and then copied her actions, exposing his chest. This time, she shamelessly checked him out.
Bellamy was pleasantly surprised when she reached down to pull his pants down along with his underwear. Her hand wrapped around his dick and started to slowly move her hand up and down, almost as if she was teasing him. He let out a low groan and leaned his hands on either side of her. He rested his forehead against hers and kept his eyes on her as she jerked him off.
“Fuck, Princess.” He cursed, his breath hitching. He was ashamed of how close he was just from her jerking him off.
He pulled her hand away and just as she was about to ask him what he was doing, he pulled her off of the desk in order to pull her hands down. He wrapped his arms around her thighs to place her back on the table and she gasped in surprise when his fingers slipped between her legs. His fingers teased her opening until she was whining into his mouth.
“Don’t tease.”
He chuckled and dipped one of his fingers inside of her. “Patience.”
She did not argue and simply leaned back, letting him pump his fingers in and out of her while he rubbed her clit. She moaned his name lowly, aware that if they were too loud, the others outside could hear them. Bellamy almost moaned at the sight of the girl squirming and trying her hardest to stay quiet on the table. The girl who never kept her mouth shut and was a force to be reckoned with was completely at his mercy.
Before Caroline could finish, he pulled his hand away. She panted and gave him a weak glare. “You’re a dick,”
“I didn’t hear you arguing when you were moaning my name.” He shot back and cupped her ass to bring their bodies closer together. He wrapped one of his hands around his dick and slid inside of her. He let out a deep groan and she let out a high pitchen moan due to his lack of patience. Bellamy placed one of his hands over her mouth and whispered, “Be quiet for me, Princess. You don’t want the rest of the camp to hear how much you hate me, do you?”
She shook her head and her eyes rolled to the back of her head when he pulled out and roughly pushed back inside her. He was no better than her. He was cursing and groaning as she rolled her hips back into his own.
They spent a couple of minutes like that, soaking in pleasure and the thrill that they got from the fact that anyone could walk into the tent at any minute. “I’m close.” He muttered and used the hand that was not covering her mouth to rub her clit in order to get her closer to the edge.
Caroline’s nails dug into his shoulders and the moaned against his hand, almost reaching her peak. He groaned at the pain and only snapped his hips against her faster. Her vision blurred and her eyes squeezed shut when she finally fell over the edge and came around him. Her walls squeezing him like a vice was what pushed him over the edge and he was quick to pull out and finish on her stomach.
Caroline panted and leaned her forehead against his chest when his hand fell from her mouth.
"So much for hating me, huh, Princess?"
She groaned. "Clarke is gonna kill me."

"oh captain my captain" your boots echoed into the kitchen as you made your presence known, leaning with your hands on the counter.
"I'm not your captain (Y/L/N), you know that" Andy replied, not raising her head from the toast she was preparing.
"but you're my favorite captain" you shrugged your shoulders, then quickly turned to look at the door "don't tell Sullivan I said that"
Her focus was still on your previous words, so she could only mindlessly laugh at that.
Andy was used to your flattery, this was definitely nothing new, but it never failed to make her blush.
"why are you here all alone by the way?" you asked, stealing her food.
"Hughes, Bishop and Miller are on a call, the others are doing chores. And that-" she slammed her hand on the counter "-is my breakfast"
You reached for the bowl in the middle of the marble top, grabbing an apple and handing it to the brunette
"here's your breakfast, no need to thank me"
Andy raised her eyebrows at your smirk, shifting her gaze from your eyes to the fruit next to your face.
"how's your butt? Birdie told me you fell down the stairs on the last call"
The last call you were on had a big case of termites, and no one living there ever bothered to do anything about it.
So, when you were called because they heard the floor squeaking and you tried to get the old lady out, the wooden stairs failed on you.
Thankfully no one got hurt, except your butt.
"oh my butt's just fine. I don't know if I can say the same about yours"
She tilted her head to the side, silently questioning you. Her lips curled into an amused smile.
"birdie told me," and you both knew you were referring to the same birdie
"you got lucky last night, some 'handsome hair guy' gave you his number" you took another bite of her, your, food.
"well, not that it's any of your business" Andy started and crossed her arms, drawing a step closer to you.
You two were nothing, you two have never been anything but friends. Close friends even, yea sure, but not even between best friends there's usually this...tension.
A touch of a hand or a brush of a shoulder, or the look of encouragement shared before going inside of burning building; all of this was definitely not just friendly, and you could both feel it.
But none of you ever acted on it, for whatever reason.
So, even though it was none of your business, Andy wanted to made sure you knew the truth.
"his number was all I got, I didn't call him"
"ohw, are you scared to go on a date Herrera?" you challenged, lowering your head so your faces were even closer. "is it been that long since your last kiss?"
In a way, you weren't wrong. In the last few months, whenever Andy tried to get with someone, let it be a one night stand or a coffee date, it never felt right.
And she never wanted to admit to herself why it felt wrong, so she just put the dating scene aside, avoiding casual hook ups and flirting with strangers.
But you weren't a stranger.
And to say the tension was a secret would be a great lie. Everyone with working eyeballs could see it, and they all had things to say about it too.
But they don't always notice when they're interrupting a moment,
like Travis right now, barging into the room with his loud voice.
"what's for breakfast? I'm so hun- oh"
he stopped in his tracks, after seeing the position you two were in, making you take a step back from each other.
"did I interrupt something, cause I can go back and we can pretend I was never here"
"no nothing happ-, don't worry about it Travis" you waved your toast in the air, dismissing his entertained expression.
Andy brought her hands on her hips, still trying to wrap her head about what could have happened.
"and there's nothing for breakfast, it was Miller's turn but he's on a call"
The woman then turned to you, and leaned over you to grab the apple you offered her moments ago.
"you're lucky if you can make yourself a toast"
It was meant for Travis, but she never took her eyes off you, watching you take the last bite of her food, smirk on your lips.
2
Vic's posture was slouched and her lips were slightly moving as she counted the money in her hands.
You entered the break room and took a seat on the sofa across from her.
"are you handing out free cash?"
She didn't take her eyes off the bills, afraid she might lose count.
"I'm handling a bet actually, don't distract me"
At that, you let out a sound of surprise, clearly exited
"who are we betting on? I want in"
"I don't you can, since we're betting on you" Vic counted the money again, then put it in her back pocket.
"when are you going to man up and ask Andy out?"
You groaned at her words, throwing your head back onto the backrest of the couch.
"why are you even betting on that? I'm not going to, we're just friends"
It took Vic all her strength not to burst out laughing at you. And you don't think you would have blamed her either.
"alright. Who says I will?"
"oh everyone actually" she shrugged her shoulders, plainly amused by your reaction, "we're just betting on when it's going to happen"
"you're impossible" you replied, knowing damn well you would have loved this bet if it were about anyone else.
"and you're in love with Andy" she accused, slapping your shoulder.
And while you were having this conversation, Andy's day was not going very differently.
"I'm not in love with (Y/N), Maya"
Andy and Maya were assigned with cleaning the lockers room and the blonde tried to make it not so boring with some light conversation, except it wasn't all that fun to the other woman.
"oh come on everyone can see that"
"then everyone is blind" she stopped removing dust from one of the helmets to look at her best friend.
"why are you so persistent on denying it Andy?" the task at hand was long gone by now, and the two were just talking
"You used to tell me everything about Gibson or Tanner or anyone, why won't you tell me about them?"
"because-" the brunette raised her arms in the air, one of her hands still holding the rag she was using to clean the gear
"there's nothing to talk about, we're just friends"
Maya wanted to scoff, or laugh at her face, but much like Vic did, she kept to herself, returning her attention to her assignment.
"besides, why are you so sure they're into me?" she asked after a second of silence, keeping her eyes on the dirty lockers.
If you were into her, she wanted to know. Just out of curiosity, nothing more.
The other firefighter raised an eyebrow, then proceeded to shrug, before answering.
"the way they look at you, the way they talk to you, the way they look at your-" she was stopped just in time by the shirt Andy threw at her face.
"that's just...flirting" Andy tried to justify your behavior, but for some reason she didn't believe it, didn't want to
"they're flirty, I'm flirty, it's just a way to keep things interesting around here. Sorry you're too uptight to understand that"
"oh I'm too uptight?" Maya pointed a finger at herself, laughing in disbelief.
"okay so you're telling me," she put the false accusation aside
"that if you let your hair down, undid a couple of buttons, and swayed your hips, they wouldn't try to sleep with you? not even try to kiss you?" she challenged, pointing with her fingers at every part of her body she was talking about.
Maya enjoyed the hesitation on Andy's face.
"no, they wouldn't." she settled on.
"okay. Let's test it out"
"what?"
"let's test it out" the blonde repeated "and if they really don't try anything, I'll stop insisting"
Andy bit the inside of her cheeks, pondering her answer. She really wanted to get Maya off her back, but she didn't know if she was ready to face the truth.
"(Y/L/N), lieutenant Herrera wants to see you, in the lockers room" Maya's head appeared into the break room, making Vic raise her eyebrows and voice her thoughts in a teasing tone.
"wonder what the lieutenant wants in the room where everyone goes to get naked"
"you're insufferable" you glared at the woman, getting up from the couch. You would have said something else, but by Maya's choise of words it was probably something important, so you let her go.
"thanks Bishop" you nodded your head, exiting the room.
Unbeknownst to you, as soon as they were left alone, the two women instantly started gossiping about their recent conversations.
"lieutenant, Bishop said you wanted to see me?" you asked as you appeared into the room.
"lieutenant? so I'm not your captain anymore, (Y/L/N)?"
You were left with your mouth agape for a couple of seconds, you only called her that way when the situation wasn't serious.
"you..needed my help, as my lieutenant?"
"I needed your advice actually, on something not really work related" she explained, and you relaxed a bit.
"sure, ask away" you shrugged, leaning your back on one of the lockers.
"you think this is appropriate, for a date?" she opened her arms to better show her outfit, which was just her uniform. The only thing that really changed was her wavy hair, now free from the ponytail she always had at work.
You blinked a few times, before nodding
"uh I guess? perfect for an after shift day"
"do I know them?" she saw you fiddle with one of the hanging coats, but she didn't mention it, "another firefighter? someone you met at the bar, or-"
you turned to look at her, "mister 'handsome hair guy', you finally called him?"
"are you jealous, (Y/L/N)?" Andy squinted her eyes, and made a show of crossing her arms, making you follow the movement.
That was a big mistake, because now you were hyper aware of the few buttons missing from her shirt.
She took a step closer.
"why would I?" you licked your lips, and mimicked her action. Neither of you noticed, but those two steps were enough to get the two of you face to face.
"do you want me, to be jealous?" you lowered your voice, two of your fingers slipping into the loop of her pants, pulling her towards you.
"I-" her breath seemed to get stuck in her throat and her arms threatened to fall to her sides.
"(Y/N).." she whispered, and you could feel the word on your lips.
"Aid car 19. Medical response requested" the loud voice echoed into the silent locker room, but it didn't interrupt your staring contest.
"I'm on aid car today" you explained, and you knew you could get an earful from captain Sullivan if you didn't run to the truck right that instant, but you couldn't get your legs to move.
And Andy wasn't helping at all.
"I know"
"Aid car 19. Medical response requested"
"(Y/L/N), you ready?" you heard another voice yell from the other room.
This time, you took a step back.
"coming Warren" you yelled back, making sure he heard you.
"I have to go" you said, with more urgency then before, and all you got back was a distant nod.
"you'd look great in anything, by the way" you added once you had one foot out of the door, then shut it quickly behind you, missing the blush that covered Andy's cheeks at your comment.
3
The sound of the big door opening and the motor of the engine shutting off made your ears perk up, and you turned to see half the team getting out of the truck.
The captain instantly went to his office, but that's where he always was when he wasn't on a call, so that didn't surprise you.
What surprised you was that a certain brunette didn't even spare you a glance, going up the stairs.
You furrowed your eyebrows at her behavior, but you couldn't catch her attention as the man on the phone was still talking your ear off, and you were trying really hard not to be rude.
"and I'm sorry that happened, sir, but you can't call the fire department for something like this" you pinched the bridge of your nose, hoping to end this as soon as possible.
When he repeated the same problem for the third time you restrained a groan, leaning back on the chair, making someone laugh behind you.
You craned your neck to look at her, then motioned for her to come closer with your hand.
"there's nothing we can do sir, if someone stole your car you need to call the police, not us"
Maya laughed again at your words, leaning on the counter beside the phone.
"yes, yes, hope you can get it back, yes, goodbye" your tone grew more impatient with every word, until you finally ended the call, slamming the phone back on the table.
"desk duty is so fun right?" she mocked you, and she was less then effected by your glare.
"yea sure, that's what I dreamed about when I applied to be a firefighter" sarcasm laced your answer.
"hey uhm" you stalled for a second, Maya was acting normally, but it was very weird for Andy to ignore you, unless she wasn't in the mood to interact with anyone
"did anything happen on the last call?"
You saw her shake her head, almost confused by the question.
"I don't know, Andy seemed weird. But, she probably didn't see me" you tried to reason, but Maya nodding her head made you rethink what you said.
"nothing happened, but you should go talk to her"
Even though her words did nothing but fuel your confusion, you briefly thanked her, then went up the stairs.
You mindlessly played with your fingers as you paced back and forth in the hallway; despite Maya's words, you still didn't know if bothering Andy would be a great idea.
Maybe she wanted her space, that's why she ran straight to her room, or maybe she didn't have the courage to ask for the help she needed.
While your head was busy thinking about different scenarios, your feet made the decision for you, stopping you in your tracks, and your knuckles tapped two times on the wooden door.
Andy heard you calling out her name, and much like you did moments ago, debated whether or not to let you in.
A whole minute has passed with her biting her lip in thought, and keeping her eyes everywhere but on the door itself.
And when she finally made her decision, she was afraid it was now too late.
"come in"
To her surprise, you had been standing there the whole time, turning the handle at her words, and stepping slowly into the room.
She moved to one side of the bed, to make room for you. And you mimicked her position, leaning your back on the wall.
Since you didn't know what she needed just yet, you meant to stay silent, but she was the first one to break the silence.
"she would have died"
She kept her gaze ahead, even when your head turned to look at her.
"if the team followed my lead, she would have died."
"what are you saying Andy?" you whispered, noticing how she took her time to form words; and when she did, her words were hardly coherent.
"on the call, Sullivan asked me if I had a plan, and I had one. But we ended up doing as he said" she paused, her gaze falling to the hands on her lap "and thank god we did, because if we waited like i suggested she would have died. And it would have been my fault"
"but she didn't"
"yea because I'm not a captain, (Y/N)" for the first time she looked back at you, with furrowed eyebrows and a pleading look in her eyes.
"I've been so fixated on thinking I should be the captain because my dad was, that maybe- maybe I don't deserve it" she concluded, lightly shaking her head.
It was no secret that having Sullivan as a captain has been hard on everyone. You could handle a strict leadership, sure, you were used to hostile situations anyway, but this team has always felt like a home, and someone suddenly entered the family, altering its balance.
And it was definetly no secret that the one who has suffered the most from it was Andy. She had to see her father step down, and the station she grew up in being commanded by someone else, someone who knew nothing about any member of the team.
She tried not to let it show, always claiming she accepted the change, and just wanted to make a good impression on the new captain.
But you could see how it was eating her alive.
You reached for her hand, linking your fingers together. You didin't say anything, waiting for her to look at you, and she did.
"we don't know what could have happened" you whispered "maybe you would have changed your mind halfway through, or you would have taken your teammate idea and changed the plan. You would have saved her, I'm sure of it"
Judging by her silence, you thought she was considering your words, until you heard her take a sharp breath in, and her hand in yours briefly loosened it's grip.
She was finding it harder and harder to keep eye contact, she felt the corners of her eyes burning, and if it were anyone else right now she would have just asked them to leave.
But you weren't anyone else, and she found herself hanging onto your every word, your tone showing a warmth only the touch of your hand could recreate, and with the way you were looking at her, she has never felt more naked, more vulnerable.
"you don't know that" she breathed out, sounding almost defeated.
"no I don't" you admitted, because you didn't. "but I know that you would have done anything in your power to save everyone, like you always do, as a captain or a lieutenant or as a person. I would follow you into a building on the verge of collapsing if you told me to do so, which could happen tomorrow" she lightly chucked, knowing this was a very plausible scenario.
Your tone became serious again, "because I know you pondered every other possibility, and I trust you to make the right choice." your tongue came out to swipe against your lips, and Andy couldn't help but follow the action with her eyes
"I mean it when I say you're the best captain this station could ever have"
"(Y/N)..." she didn't know why she called your name, you were right there, but you were the only thing on her mind at this point.
You were so close to her, she just head to tilt her head and she would feel the lips that uttered such comforting words on hers.
But when she scooted closer, or maybe it was your doing, you blinked rapidly, almost as if you just realized what was about to happen, then cleared your throat.
"you should get some sleep"
You almost regretted your words as you took in the hurt expression on her face. You would have wanted nothing more than to allow her to zero the distance, to finally give clarity to this weird relationship between you two, but you didn't want to take advantage of her vulnerable state, and confuse the need of comfort with love.
"I'll see you after my shift?" you forced yourself to ask as you got up from her bed when she made no move to talk.
"yea" she only noticed you getting to her door when her hand started to get cold again.
"thank you"
"anytime" you replied softly, then closed the door behind you.
4
You took another sip from your cold beer, while you leaned your back on the wall.
You stopped interacting with the others a little while ago, just content with listening to them talk.
To be honest you weren't really following what they were saying, all became a blur to you after the second, or the third beer, but you could recognize their light tones and careless laughs, making you feel at ease.
You could make out Travis and Jack's voice, with some interventions from Dean here and there, probably warning them not to get their feet on his coffee table.
You could also make out the sound of the water by the deck slowly moving with the wind.
The one sound that came crystal clear to your ears was a certain brunette's laugh as she talked with her friend a few feet away from you.
Even if Andy, and Vic for that matter, caught you looking in their direction multiple times, you could just say that you were looking at the water behind them, not that they would believe you. Vic definitely wouldn't.
As you raised the bottle to your lips you found your mouth empty, and a little frown took over your face.
You didn't bother warning the others, it's not like you were participating in the conversation, and headed inside.
And once you were back in the house the lack of the wind running through your hair made your cheeks feel really warm, making you realize they were probably red on the outside.
You actually went inside to get another beer or something to eat, but once your eyes landed on it, you couldn't resist the couch in the middle of the room.
"careful with your head like that, you might throw up"
it was only a few seconds of you sitting on the couch with your head leaned back in the air over the headrest until you heard her soft voice, and her heels coming closer to you.
"and you followed me to make sure I wouldn't?" you changed position, guided by her hand on the back of your neck, and saw her sitting next you.
"it was more so you wouldn't get another beer" she chuckled, turning so her middle was facing you.
"I wasn't going to get another beer" you lied.
She began speaking again, about what you didn't know, you weren't even sure she was talking; you could just see the way her lips moved, lips that had much more lipstick earlier this evening, she must have removed it by accident with a napkin after eating.
Her makeup was still on point though, you saw her subtly checking it with her phone before, but you were too far away to tell her it was perfect.
You were used to her wearing make up, she did that for a night out or, in this case, when you had little parties at Dean's house.
But there was one thing you didn't see often.
"what are thinking about?" her words finally entered your brain, making you blink rapidly.
Your voice came out slightly unsteady, but Andy was the only one to notice
"your hair"
"my hair?" she raised her eyebrows, cackling.
Between the alcohol turning your gears and her laugh stopping them, you struggled to find your next words "yea it's-" you scooter closer, one hand reaching to twirl a lock of her hair between your fingers "-different, I like it on you"
She got out a small "thank you" as she saw you playing with the ends of her curly hair, and she could feel your breath on her collarbone from the way you were leaning into her.
"sorry, I don't want to ruin it" you apologized, letting your hand fall next to her thigh.
When you raised your head to look at her you found her really close to your face, lips mere inches away from each other.
"it's okay" she reassured in a whisper, but she had a feeling your head was somewhere else.
In a bold act, probably guided by the alcohol, you propped yourself up on the couch to get even closer to the brunette, and closed your eyes.
You opened them again when you felt a hand on your chest, Andy's fingers gently grabbing the fabric of your shirt.
Her mouth was still agape, trying to grasp the right words.
"you're drunk" she whispered, but it felt more like an inconvenience rather than a statement.
She didn't give you time to reply and just got up from the couch, excusing herself as she went back outside.
Even after you were left alone, your eyes were still on the same spot were Andy was seated, trying to translate abstract thoughts.
Then, letting out a big sigh, you resumed your position on the couch.
And suddenly, the alcohol in your system wasn't nearly enough to stop you from realizing what you just did.
And how Andy reacted.
You felt the couch dip beside you, and it was only then you reopened your eyes, finding Maya next to you.
You two sat silently for a while, she didn't drink as much as you did, but you could see the light redness on her cheeks and her relaxed eyebrows.
She probably came in here to get away from the voices that seemed to get louder every second; as some of them tended to get loud when drunk.
You cleared your throat, but your voice still came out in a whisper.
"I almost kissed her"
And if you weren't so distracted you would have slapper her for the surprised laugh she let out
"you what?"
"I almost kissed her" you repeated, this time louder "and she pulled away"
While you were looking at the ceiling you missed the way the blonde fully turned her body towards you, adjusting one leg under the other. She squinted her eyes, almost hoping you were so drunk it was all just incoherent blabbing
"what do you mean she pulled away?"
"she pulled away, she rejected me, she refused me, she turned me down- is it clear now?" you asked sarcastically, placing the empty bottle that was still in your hand on the coffee table in front of you.
The blonde furrowed her eyebrows, deeply confused with this turn of events.
"...Andy?"
"yes Maya, Andy. Who do you think I'm in love with?" normally you would have never let something so big slip, especially when she was in the other room, but you were too drunk and confused and hurt and tired to care about filtering your words.
Thankfully she didn't make it a big deal, and tried her best to comfort you. Truth was, Maya herself didn't know how to help you, she was so sure Andy had feelings for you that she couldn't think of any reason why she did what she did.
So, when they all got back inside to end the night and Andy saw you sleeping on her shoulder, and offered to drive you home, Maya tightened the hold on your shirt, stating you didn't need it, and you could just sleep at Dean's for the night.
You made sure to thank Maya the morning after at the station, while feeling a pair of eyes on the back of your back.

After the "accident" at Dean's house, you expected Andy to treat you differently, or even to avoid you, but to your surprise she acted normally around you.
Or at least she tried to.
While you tried to pretend nothing ever happened that night, for Andy's sake, Andy couldn't stop thinking about it.
It was not the first time you almost kissed, so it shouldn't bother her this much; but it was the first time she pulled away.
This time there was no call, no one entering the room, no one interrupting them but herself.
She tried telling herself that you didn't really want it, that you were too drunk to actually realize what you tried to do, but it was all just an excuse not to blame herself.
Every time you looked at her she couldn't get the image of your eyes closed and your red cheeks out of her head, every time you talked to her, Andy couldn't stop thinking about how you so softly complimented her hair, and it was becoming harder and harder not to confront you.
But thankfully, with your line of work, she was able to put personal business aside and just treat you like a coworker.
"(Y/L/N), Bishop, what's the situation?" your lieutenant asked through the radio.
She was assigned by the captain to the hoses outside the condo with Montgomery and Hughes, while you and Maya had to go inside the building to check where the smoke was coming from.
"we're on the fifth floor for now, there's still no fire but I'm starting to smell the smoke" the blonde replied, before shutting down the communication.
"you know what I was thinking about" she started, casting you a quick look and seeing your raised eyebrow through the mask before continuing "Andy's been acting weird around you"
"yea I wonder why" you sarcastically remarked, ignoring her laugh.
"no I mean, good weird. She looks at you more from across the room, she always seats beside you during breakfast, she asks you how you are during a call" she finished, referring to what she did a few seconds ago.
"she asked us" you clarified "and she is not acting any different, you're seeing things"
Not that Maya told you, but after that night Andy came to her to confide in her best friend, and finally told her the truth.
"I think you should tell her how you feel, maybe she just needs to hear you say it" she encouraged you, now that she knew both sides she couldn't help but try to push you in the right direction and end this endless pining.
Without stopping, you answered "oh you want me to be direct? Sure" you mimicked her action, shrugging your shoulders "do you remember when I tried to kiss you and you pulled away? yea well, I wanted to tell you that I really like you, in case you wanted to turn me down a second time."
You scoffed at your own words and turned a corner, but when you saw her stopping in her tracks you also stopped, confused.
"there's the smoke" she announced, making you look at the apartment at the end of the hallway, and while she ran towards the door, you opened your radio.
"captain, we found the source, east side of the building. We're going in"
Turns out the apartment belonged to a single mother and while she was distracted by her kids the stove she was cooking breakfast on caught on fire, and the flames instantly engulfed the door, forcing her to hide in the other room with her two boys.
While Maya helped the woman and the kids evacuate the building, you stayed behind to extinguish what was left of the fire.
After receiving confirmation that there wasn't anyone else left in the apartment, you got out of the building to finally get some fresh air.
You sat at the back of the engine, with the oxygen mask covering half of your face. You were looking in front of you at the smoke slowly disappearing when suddenly someone blocked the sun from hitting the side of your face, making you look up at her.
"you're using our vics' masks" Andy leaned on the door of truck, but made no move to grab the device.
"oh I didn't know-" you went to take it off your face, but her hand on your wirst and her laugh stopped you.
"I'm kidding, they used it while you were inside." she explained with a smile. But then it seemed to falter for a second "are you okay? Maya said it shouldn't have taken you that long to extinguish the fire. I could have sent someone up to help you."
You closed one eye and furrowed your eyebrows when her new position exposed you to the sun once again, but you kept on looking at her with the other eye.
You found it cute how she offered you help without realizing she couldn't have made that decision by herself anyway.
"don't worry about it captain, I was just checking for any gas leaks" the fake title rolling off your tongue as sweetly as the last time you used it a couple of weeks ago.
She saw you putting the oxygen mask behind you and let her gaze fall to the ground. When she finally told Maya how she feels about you, the blonde never revealed what she knew about your own feelings, and only told her to "go for it", which didn't help. at all.
"what's up with you?" your fingers reached for her belt loops and brought her closer. Andy widened her eyes slightly in surprise but when she noticed your relazed eyebrows, she realized you just moved her to block the sun.
"what do you mean? I'm fine" she knew it was useless with you, but she still tried to play dumb.
"I know you Andy, I can see when you're lost in your thoughts"
You gave her time to answer but she took it to look at your features.
The full face mask you wore before made your hair messier that they normally were, and your uniform had now dust and ash traces. Since her body covered the sun from hitting your face she couldn't see the brightness she was used to admire in your eyes, but they still held the same softness they always held while you were looking at her.
What she couldn't really take her eyes off where your cheeks. Being close to the fire made your body temperature grow, and gave your cheeks the same hue they had the night at Dean's house.
And that made Andy think.
Maybe your action weren't completely controlled by the alcohol.
In a spur of confidence, Andy grabbed your rosy cheeks, bringing you closer to her. And suddenly, much to your surprise, her lips where on yours.
You put one hand behind you so you wouldn't fall on your back with the force she was using, while your other hand went to reach behind her neck.
Andy could almost taste the smoke you inhaled minutes before, but the fact that you were kissing her back was enough to make up for it.
When she pulled away and straightened her back from the uncomfortable arch it was in, you slowly reopened your eyes and you honestly couldn't tell who looked more surprised.
"I thought-" the hand on your cheeck was making it just that bit harder for you to think "when I tried to kiss you-"
"you were drunk" she replied "I wasn't sure you really wanted it and I didn't want to finally kiss you when you wouldn't be able to remember the next day"
You kept looking between her eyes during the explanation, your hand going back to her waist mid speech.
"I will definitely remember now" you remarked, before pulling her in a second kiss.
Before you could detach yourself from her lips, you heard someone's footsteps coming towards you, then a loud cheer sounded from behind Andy.
"I see you two finally did it"
"and now I don't have to keep your secrets anymore" Maya added, following Vic.
"wait you knew? why didn't you tell me, Andy?" Vic looked between the two women,
"because you suck at keeping secrets Vic" the woman next to you answered, crossing her arms. She shifted her weight, slightly leaning into you hand still resting on her side.
"you really do, Vi" you chuckled, backing Andy up.
"yea whatever you know what?" she pointed at the both of you "I still won the bet, so thank you anyway, love birds" Vic proudly announced, but before getting in the back of the engine, she turned to the blonde once again
"and you're not getting anything, since you already knew"
At that, Maya groaned, following her "oh come on, that's not fair"
Their argument got lost on you as you turned back to look at Andy, who looked both amused and confused. She probably wasn't aware of the bet.
You got up and kissed her cheek to bring her attention back to you.
"do you want to drive?" she asked after a second, knowing that with her as lieutenant you'd sit next to her.
"yea, I'd like that. And,"
you took a step forward, your lips hovering hers "we can talk about this later?"
She nodded with a smile, but when she tried to close the distance, Travis honking from the aid car startled her.
He was a few meters away, so he wasn't able to see what was happening, or he would have never interrupted.
But Andy decided right this moment that she didn't want to get interrupted by anyone anymore, so she put her arms around your neck, and leaned in to kiss you again.
"let's go back, before we get another call" she spoke up once she separated from you, then walked past you to get into the passenger's seat.
And as soon as you started the engine, you heard Andy's incredulous voice, making you laugh out loud
"why did no one tell me about the bet?"

— IT MUST’VE BEEN DIFFICULT BEING THE SUN.
[♡]: that was the only thought running through marcille’s mind as she watches you gingerly patch up a tear in one of her dresses. she watches fondly as your fingers nimbly thread the needle through deep blue fabric with such care and gentleness, she almost envied it. well, what choice did she have but to envy it? what choice does the moon have but to want the sun’s warmth?
Tumblr media
RISING SUN.
That’s what you were. Something bright, something inviting, almost tempting. Marcille felt drawn to you, she always had. There was just always some quality about you that drew her in, a radiance that seemed to guide her steps to draw closer and closer to you. It was nearly instant, the inviting sunshine that pulled at her, caused her to come closer until she extended her arm out towards you and introduced herself. It did not help that you smiled so brightly and sweetly. You grabbed her hand, warmth spreading from your body to hers, shook it firmly. Marcille had to try really hard not to think too much about you after that.
For a while she really wouldn’t tell why, she couldn’t tell what specifically about you kept tempting her. She felt it, nearly every moment of your time together in the dungeon, a small part of her that would always keep you close. Marcille would walk next to you, she would try and make small talk with you, she would offer to help you. The more she let herself bask in your light and warmth, the more she felt drawn to stay, until she was comfortably resting by your side, a sunny friendship that made her heart feel fuzzy.
High noon.
That’s what you were, hot and looming. You were always close with Marcille, something she would never fully figure out the reason for. But you were there, at the corner of her eye, staying by her side at a comfortable distance, watching her tie braids in her hair, putting your bedroom adjacent to hers. The tug she had initially felt when you two first met only grew, flames that only consumed her inside, filling her with sunshiny warmth. It was hot, nearly dangerously so, hot, blazing noon heat. Marcille began to overheat, cheeks would flush when your fingers would brush against hers when you walked together, brain would malfunction when you would worriedly bandage her minor injuries, stomach would twist in knots when you would smile at her. A smile so bright and sweet.
Marcille was half-scared she would explode. Or melt into a puddle.
Heat, dangerously hot heat. With the warmth came hesitation, the fear of being burnt if she stood too close, if she lingered under sunlight too long. The idea felt more like a promise than a threat, a guarantee that getting closer to you would end in failure, leave her brunt bright red, leave her howling in pain into empty space.
She liked you, there was part of her that screamed that obvious fact to her face as much as she wanted to suppress and deny the idea, let it die down to a passing thought. In her heart Marcille knew she still longed for the sun, she still craved for your hot touch, your bright smile, your warm company. She willed it in such a way, it was no longer simple friendship. It was something deeper, heavier. It was something that went past her niceties, that stemmed from the pits of her heart.
It was an aching sort of craving, a hunger that left her immobilized. It was the temptation of a forbidden fruit, of a light that would burn.
She saw the way you were with other people. People like the men in your party. Marcille had nothing against them, but still there was a small part of her that boiled green at the way you were around them because it was the same way you were with her but different. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it but there was a difference. Something small she could feel on the tips of her senses.
Marcille saw the way you were. She saw the way you giggled at Laios’ antics as he clumsily poked at some strange plant in the dungeon. She saw the way you praised Chilchuck’s handiwork, a compliment that proved only how observant you could be. She saw the way you teased Shuro for his awkwardness in the party during meal times. It might’ve begun to piss her off had it not been you. Marcille, as jealous as she might get around the boys, could never truly bring herself to feel so terribly when it's something about you. How could she when your laugh was like the warm summer breeze, your care like fireplace warmth, your smile like starshine.
Gods! Marcille wanted to tear her hair out. It was such a pain to be hungry, to so desperately crave for light, for warmth. It was a pain to be hungry for something you know you can never have, you could never even begin to imagine the taste of.
She kept her distance, an orbit just at arms reach. The same politeness and gentleness as the beginning, with the new caution for heat. She allowed herself to bask only in the reflection of your light.
Setting sun.
That’s what you were as you gingerly patch up a tear in one of Marcille’s dresses. Strangely it felt so domestic despite the other party members that crowded around your small campsite, despite the terribly difficult fight everyone was still recovering from, despite her keeping her usual far away distance. Her gaze lingered on you, studying the way your fingered moved with such grace and tenderness, she might’ve gotten jealous of the way you treated the needle had she not remembered you had personally offered to come and patch it up for her (a fix she definitely could’ve done — or normally would’ve gotten Chilchuck to fix for her — but could she really pass up the opportunity?).
Marcille watched quietly and carefully, musing at the way you chatted with Namari as you worked, the small smile that evolved into a snort and a chuckle at something Namari said that Marcille didn’t quite care enough to hear. She smiled fondly at your direction, a soft sigh escaping her lips.
Chilchuck nudges her as he moves to sit by her side near the campfire. She paid him little attention, not bothering to glance his way as she spoke. “What do you want?” Something a bit more curt than usual, but Chilchuck doesn’t care enough to be bothered.
“It’d be easier to just talk to her, you know,” he said plainly as he opened up his waterskin to take a sip.
Marcille snorts, finally turning to him with her brows furrowed in skepticism. “Right, because you’re so suddenly an expert at forming bonds?” She jests, causing the muscle under Chil’s eye to twitch slightly.
He sighs in satisfaction once he’s finished taking his drink. He points an accusatory finger at Marcille, it catches her off guard. “I’m just saying you should talk to her at least. I’m sick of hearing you sigh and giggle when you're just… staring… at her— it’s creepy!” Chilchuck says in a scolding manner.
Marcille’s cheeks turn red at the comment. “Wh—” She begins but your soft laugh cuts through the air and her ears pick up on the sound immediately.
No doubt Chilchuck has too, but he chooses to sigh at the elven girl. “All I’m saying is communication is important.” He stands and dusts off the back of his pants. “So get it together, Marcille. Do something about… this,” He gestures a hand vaguely at Marcille, “because I’m really, really getting sick of this nonsense.”
As he walks away, Marcille watches and grumbles something about how he should mind his own business, but she feels a presence appear next to her. She senses warmth.
Rising moon.
That’s what she was. Something alluring, something enigmatic, nearly mysterious. You had never met an elf before, not saying it was a bad thing but it definitely helped shine an interest on Marcille. Of course, it didn’t help that she was pretty. You were nervous, of course you were. You were fresh meat in a new environment, your next few days would be spent underground, enclosed by damp stone walls and all sorts of beasts. She had stepped closer to you, extended a friendly hand for you to shake. She had told you her name, a sweet sounding lullaby that gracefully left her lips.
You smiled warmly at her, feeling instantly at ease with her kindness, her softness. There was something that drew you to her, a force that tugged at you to come a bit closer to take a better look at her. She was soft, gentle. It was like the breath of autumn wind, something cool, something calming. You couldn’t quite place it, but you could tell something about her tempted you, lulled you into a drowsy state. So you smiled warmly at her, shook her hand and told her your name in return, a small hope kindling inside you that this acquaintanceship would lead to something more.
Midnight.
That’s what she was, dim and looming. You quickly grew close with Marcille, after all, she was the first friend you made among the Touden party, what reason did you have not to be close to her? Besides, she was admirable. In your eyes, she shone brightly, a soft light amidst the void of night. Marcille was a reliable member of the party, always looking for things to help out with (though sometimes she would complain first despite doing it regardless), which was admirable. She was smart too, well-versed in all sorts of spells and knowledgeable in different academic topics, which was admirable too. She also was very careful in her own way, taking time to make sure she was neat and tidy, putting the effort into adorning her silken blond locks with braids and bows, ridding her beautiful features of any spec or dirt, which was admirable… in a way… Well, in the way you were able to just admire her grace, her softness. Truly she had this air of softness to her, like she was constantly followed by a halo of light, a soft glow that was calming in its own way.
Marcille was truly admirable like, that you supposed.
But still, it felt like all you could do was admire her. Despite the closeness that developed between you two, there was always this invisible force that kept you apart, a tension that seemed to hinder you from stepping forward. That, or it was distance. She felt far away to you, something you could only be stuck admiring, like painting in a museum or light on the horizon. The allure of her would always draw you near, you'd sit next to her during meal times or secretly place your bedroll closer to hers, you'd walk side by side and chat when exploring, you'd help her brush the back of her hair, but there was this feeling from the pits of your guts, a self-instilled omen of misfortune for you if you continued to allow yourself to be drawn to her.
Well, after all, you saw how she was with Falin. You had nothing against Falin, you could never even be truly mad at either of them, but whenever they were together you felt… sad. It was quite acidic as envy, but it was cold, and dark, and quiet. Of course you knew the pair had been friends since they were young, years far before your addition to the Touden party, a story Marcille always smiled about when she'd tell you; her years at the magic academy were some of her favorite stories to tell you, you're favorites only because Marcille was the one telling them. Suppose it was some form of jealousy, but really it felt more akinned to despair.
Falin and Marcille were close, far closer than you could even imagine you and Marcille could become. When Marcille wasn't with you, she was undoubtedly with Falin — or rather, when Marcille wasn't with Falin, she was with you. It felt that way at least.
But, regardless, you were no evil witch, no lunatic magician. You wouldn't even dare explicitly drive a stake between the friends, as much as you desperately wanted to be in Falin's shoes. All you did was what you had already been doing, keeping yourself at arms reach, keeping a safe distance from you and her softness, her light, her mystery. You watched from afar, as she'd laugh alongside Falin, as she'd grab her hand, as she'd leave you in searing cold.
Setting moon.
That’s what she was as you sense her gaze linger on you as you patch up one of her dresses, an act you did with such care and love, you were practically kissing better the rips in the deep blue fabric. You feel it, practically burning gently on your skin like firefly kisses, how her emerald eyes stay fixed on you, preying on how your fingers move, studying how you brush hair out of your face. You catch her gaze from the corner of your eye, the hazy look on her porcelain skin, the way the firelight illuminated her features. You try your best not to think of it too much, knowing you’d turn bright red at just the thought of her, instead focusing your attention at carefully sewing her dress, focusing on threading the needle to create perfect invisible stitches to make it look brand new, focusing on how Marcille would smile when you handed her the finished product, focusing on the thought of how she’d go on to wear the dress with your needlework on it, a secret love letter etched into the blue fabric—
“You ‘kay?” A deeper female voice calls from beside you, fortunately and quickly breaking you free from your thoughts.
“Wh- Hm?” You hum, still trying to scramble out of the lingering remnant thoughts of Marcille.
“Yer.. turnin’ red.” Namari notes as she bends a bit closer, looking at the pink dust on your cheeks.
“It’s nothing..” You softly say, instinctively sneaking a glance at Marcille before you turn back to your work.
Narami is unimpressed. She catches the shift of your eyes towards the party’s battle mage and she sighs, taking a seat next to you. “Ya thinkin’ ‘bout her again?”
Instantly a small smile breaks on your face at the mention of Marcille, you chuckle, snorting a bit before you turn to meet Namari’s face. “Am I really that obvious?” You ask but there’s no sense of embarrassment or fear, Marcille did always make you feel at ease.
She mirrors your chuckle. “‘Course.” She says plainly. “Though, I doubt anyone else noticed.” She looks up. “Chil might’ve though.”
You follow her gaze to see the half-foot next to Marcille, she seems annoyed and a bit flustered too. You let out a small laugh and resume your work on the dress. “Of course, Chilchuck’s noticed. What doesn’t he?”
Namari snorts. “Bet he was the first to notice… whatever the both of ya got goin’ on with each other.”
Your brows furrow and your hands freeze. “What’s that meant to mean?”
Namari blinks at you, almost shocked at your confusion. “Like how Marcille and ya are… Ya know…” She makes a gesture, her fingers interlocking with each other. “Ya know?”
“What?” You ask, voice a pitch higher, the initial blush on your face quickly returning. “Wh-what is that even meant to mean, Mari?”
The dwarf shrugs. “I mean- well, if ya don’t know then there’s maybe nothin’— I don’t know!” She says defensively. “I’ve just heard Chil complain ‘bout ya two, is all.”
“Complain about what?”
“Says he’s tired’a seein’ ya two keep google’ at each other an—”
You sit up straight, causing her to pause abruptly. You look at her incredulously, eyes wide, mouth slightly agape, brows furrowed. “Two of us?” You ask in a loud whisper. “Two of us?”
Marcille feels your warmth next to her, she feels her world begin to shine in radiant light. She turns to you, a little awestruck as she usually is when she looks at you, especially when you smile the way you’re smiling at her right now.
“Finished your dress,” you say sweetly, softly, like the sweet kiss of morning sunlight through the curtain.
She smiles at you like moonbeams across the ocean. “Thank you,” she replies. Your fingers touch when you pass the clothing to her, a featherlight brush against her like fate was teasing you with a small taste of what you craved.
You sit next to each other in silence, the same comfortable silence weighed on by that thick tension. Marcille smooths over the area where you stitched, fingers gingerly tracing over the invisible lines where your thread passed through her dress. You swallow thickly as you watch her, eyes following each gentle stroke of your fingers. You envy the fabric.
“Marcille,” your voice causes her to look up at you, your face catches the firelight like the honeyed rays of the sun.
“Hm?” She hums in response, head tilting to the side in curiosity. “What is it?”
You lean towards her, brows twitching and you try and muster your courage. “Do you… Do you… like me?” you ask timidly.
Oh, Marcille feels like she would die right now.
Her face instantly flushes red and she jolts upright. “What?” She nearly yells.
You blink, trying terribly hard not to let your heart feel heavy. “Have I… gotten the wrong impression?”
“N-no! That— It’s—” She sighs. Suppose there isn’t really a way to talk out of it now. She opens her mouth to speak but you beat her to it.
“N-Namari told me to ask. She says it’s been pretty obvious.” You explain timidly, your gaze drifting away from her as wring your hands together. “She said… I was pretty obvious about it too…”
“About…?”
“I…” You take a deep breath, “I like you, Marcy.”
And it was like the world had suddenly shattered. That invisible force that held you two apart finally vanished with the air, leaving you two to allow each other to be pulled into one another like magnets.
Marcille’s eyes shine brightly, hopefully even. She leans closer, one hand gripping tightly against her dress, the same one you had so carefully taken the time to fix for her, the same one she had envied. The other hand lingers in the air, fingers twitching as she hesitates one final time, the final remnants of the tension between you two still trying desperately to cling on.
“Th… I— I like you too…”
You smile, the same smile when you first met, so brightly and sweetly. Relief washes over you, like you had just suddenly been doused in ice cold water. She reaches out to you with her free hand, very slowly making its way to cup your cheek.
“I think… I’ve liked you for a long time now,” Marcille says, punctuates it by saying your name so sweetly, like it was devised for her and only her to speak.
Her thumb smooths over your cheek, caressing your face in such a tender manner. You lean into the touch, moving your own hand to go over hers. You two stare at each other for a bit, tunnel visioning only into each other, allowing everything else around you to blur into distant colors.
You lean forwards, closer to her, and you hear a small gasp leave her lips when she realizes what would happen next. You smile fondly at the noise.
Then the sun and the moon finally meet in total eclipse.
