Im okay!! Some incredible University related things are happening atm, which is exciting (potentially going to have a studio flat to myself basically for free which will mean uni is completely stress free money-wise, which is truly incredible and will make uni life survivable), and I have finished a maths AS Level (idk how to put this into generic terms but its between a level and gcse - A level being the qualification you get before uni)

CAN I TELL YOU THIS THING I LEARNED ABOUT EGGS?!??

Sooooo I always wondered how eggs get fertalised, cause how does the sperm penetrate the shell, and I went to an online lecture that explained exactly that!!!

Sooo the sperm from the male chickens inseminates the yolk of the egg before the shell is made. Unlike in humans, where if multiple sperm meet the egg the egg will not progress to the next stage, multiple sperm are actually nescassary for the survival of the egg!! Only one sperm cell provides its genetic information, but others that enter are theorised to be important in stimulating the next stages of development. Other sperm that don't enter the yolk then form the outer lining of the wall of the yolk (literally the thing you pierce when you let the yolk run in a fried egg). As the egg then travels further down the hen, the albumen (the egg white) forms around the yolk, and the shell forms around that!! ITS SO INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!

Also snake eggs are soft and chicken eggs are hard because chicken eggs need to be harder to protect the embryo as it forms. also the lining of the shell regulates gas exchange and water intake in chicken eggs, which allows them to survive in both humid and dry environments! Whereas snakes tend to live in regions withh more constant climates, and so dont need this mechanism to cope with chnaging climates. Also chickens have been selectively bred to produce eggs even when they arent fertalised - they wouldnt do this naturally because it is an extreme waste of energy.

i'm not doing great, exams start officially in 3 weeks and if i want to pass this year i need to do really well & im not looking forward to summer break simply because the small amount of friends i have will all be travelling while i stay behind :(

because of all this stress, my brain is also breaking a little bit & i cant remember anything anymore and also we have a maths teacher again :( which is not fun bc im too good at math & they always go way too slow for me, which means im stuck counting how many squares are on my graph paper or something to not go insane with boredom

BUT good news!!! just found out yesterday that i can go walk around the nearby swamp!!!! (i thought people werent allowed to go in)

and im hopefully almost done with school? just one more year after this :)

ARMYs are really just burnt out and I don’t think the rapid fire pace of releases has helped anything. It’s amazing as a fan to get all this music, but the expectation to chart everything I think is unrealistic and kind of overwhelming. People just don’t have that kind of time, energy, or money to go all out for every comeback when they happen every other month, sometimes several in a single month. It especially doesn’t help if ARMYs aren’t feeling the song, and I don’t think they’ve felt quite a bit of CH2 music.

I have longer thoughts on all this, but I just have so much annoyance towards some chart ARMYs and their unrealistic expectations and their refusal to acknowledge that the current organized fandom streaming power isn’t what they think it is. Another big wave of HL victimization (but sometimes TH is also included??) from ARMYs and it just opened the doors for so much resentment and hatred to be thrown towards jkk but especially Jimin. It was really disturbing to go and block these people & find I had 5-10+ moots following each time. It’s really out of control.

I’m just tired of this RL discourse while they ignore the twenty elephants in the room that explain why the streams are where they are (and no it’s not because “ARMYS hate RL”.). Instead they just throw these tantrums that further divide an already deteriorating and toxic fandom. I don’t know what it will take for them to understand that a fandom that doubled with Dynamite is going to prefer pop music, and that the majority of ARMYs are in fact not zombie streamers but fans who casually listen to the music that appeals to them. Not to mention the fact that a lot of ARMYs aren’t even active right now, so many of them have been dropping off and waiting for BTS to return as a group.

It really just keeps getting worse and worse in ARMY spaces. I’m pretty sure active ARMYs are about 90% diet solos at this point. It’s extremely messed up what a lot of them can get away with saying and not get canceled or called out for. It’s also just this hyper-fixation on drama, shooter accounts, NewJean’s, MHJ, raging against whatever fandom approved villain of the month, trending pointless hashtags for random reasons, and then being shady and resentful because of these arbitrary goals they set that are often influenced by using Jimin as a goalpost.

"Kid, it's Qrow."

Jaune ignores him, going to put a steadying hand on Weiss's shoulder. "Look, I'm sorry you have to find out this way, but the thing about guys is... we're all dorks. And Neptune is our king."

"...I see." Weiss nods, and Ruby goes back to her own texts, "Is it a bad sign that I still like him, even though he's flawed?"

"I mean, he didn't realize you wanted to keep seeing him after the dance until you cried at him for flirting with other girls," Nora comments, "You kinda already knew that he wasn't perfect."

"I suppose that's true... In that case, I'm going to respond in kind! Nora, I require your assistance!"

You take his optimism + Lu Guang's ability to see the bigger picture and you get Lu Guang going back in time even if he deep down doesn't believe a death node can be avoided, both mad with grief and inspired, hoping against all odds that his friend is right and there's hope even if you can't see it

y'know, i keep making a habit of swinging my bat at hornets nests, but i have to say i'm getting so, so tired of people complaining about shows not making perfect sense when they aren't even close to done. we're four episodes into this season of doctor who. we're four episodes into this season of bridgerton. and yet in both fandoms i keep seeing people whine that such and such didn't make sense or it wasn't explained all the way and by god you guys i think maybe explanations might come later in the season. this is something most viewers will recognize as being called a 'plot.'
