Mientras tanto, su compañero de clase, Na Il Deung (Hwang In Yeob), regularmente compite con Ah Yi para recibir la máxima calificación, pero comienzan a tener sentimientos el uno por el otro. Mi principal motivación para ver este kdrama eran la magia y Ji Chan Wook, pero la temática alrededor de la "magia" fue la que me hizo amar enormemente esta historia. No tiene un toque dulce al estilo de Disney, sino más bien un toque agridulce, triste, pero esperanzador de todas maneras. Con los 3 personajes simpaticé mucho, cada uno tiene un trasfondo que los hace muy valiosos como personajes y con los cuáles puedes empatizar o incluso sentirte identificado. Durante toda la serie solo deseé conocer a alguien como Lee Eul, alguien que me recuerde lo que es vivir, tal como él lo hizo con Ah Yi.

Mi única razón para no darle 5 estrellas, pese a ser uno de mis kdramas favoritos del año pasado (2022), es el final.

Podría decirse que es abierto, aunque no totalmente, porque te la da las suficientes pistas para interpretar que al final Na Il Deung y Yoon Ah Yi se encontraron años después.

Los finales abiertos me encantan la mayoría de las veces, pero con este en especial, quizá por su toque nostálgico y agridulce, si deseé que fuese más conclusivo.

Para los que leyeron o leerán el wentoon, podrán encontrar un final más satisfactorio.

Pista: encontrarán algo en el buzón mágico al final <3

the absolute cutest part for me was in the original past, Yichan chased after Sekyung, got rejected, lost his hearing, and THEN dated Cheongah. i was really worried about the butterfly affect (or, in Eungyeol and Eunyoo's case, the bull in a china shop affect) making it so if those things didn't happen, he wouldn't have ended up with Cheongah, but here he goes still choosing her 🥺 here he goes punching abelists for her 🥺 here he goes learning sign language and teaching his friends to greet her 🥺🥺🥺 here is Yichan, who fell in love with Cheongah dispite them being in "diffrent worlds", and immediately showed her off. AND THEY DID ALL OF IT basically by themselves 😭💔💔

+ 5 bonus points for Eunyoo getting happy when Eungyeol told her he started liking "Sekyung" after she came back from the US, so he truly only fell for Eunyoo and not her mom

SUMMARY: Is it remotely possible to have a successful professional life and a fulfilling personal life?

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Nice apartments, wedding dresses, bold chaebols, servitude for survival, childish parents, professional growth, puppy love, true selves, double lives, stylish winter coats, hot Americanos, height differences, product samples, and long-distance longing.

HOT TAKE: First off, the title of this show is upsettingly confusing to me since every woman in this show KNOWS about the crises happening around her. Communication is actually refreshingly great, so even after finishing it I have no idea who 'never knew.'

Although Rowoon gets to really shine here since his character is a little serious, a little silly, and a whole lot of 'green flag,' he can't help the painfully slow-pace of the plot or the sudden ep 15 plot flip. Why wait so long to introduce a conflict, writers?

Look, I'm not gonna lie. I started this drama for a very superficial reason: Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang are one of the most gorgeous couples I've ever seen. And tbh, that's one of the things that kept me watching until the end. The first half was pretty fun, thanks to their will-they-won't-they dynamic and some really funny supporting characters and recurring gags. Unfortunately, it began to drag around the middle part, and then it got more and more boring with each passing episode. By the time the final episode came out, I no longer cared about the plot, the characters or anything else (although the ending itself was quite nice). With all that in mind, I can't help but think My Demon would have worked much better as a movie.

I'm rewatching this drama right now and let me tell you something the first time i saw this episode it was my favorite one ( 3-4 ) and this time too. Nothing can replace this scene for me.

It's such a beautiful romantic drama with many sad episode. It has the same vibe as "Now We Are Breacking Up"

EPISODE 8 IS ENTIRELY TOO CUTE 😭😭😭

if i had a son who loves his parents the way Ha Eungyeol loves his, nothing in the world would be able to dim my spirits 😖 watching him look after Yichan this whole time was adoreable, but there's something SO touching about the way he takes care of Chungah.

when he cried for her, my heart felt like it was getting crushed. imagine meeting your mom as a teenager, helpless in such a shitty situation? how could they not even let her speak sign language? he's already physically protected her from her "mom", fought bodyguards for her, become her sign language tutor, and become her friend. even way before he ever met Chungah's 18 year old self, he's been trying to keep Yichan away from his teenage crush until he can meet Chungah, so she will be his first love. he's been protecting her feelings this entire time 🥺

and the ROMANCE 🤧 Yichan is slowly going to Chungah, who is already so far gone she's drawing his name inside a heart in the fog on her bedroom window, and Eungyeol and Sekyung-idal slowly going to each other 🥺🥺 Eungyeul's confession at the end that was partly because of his feelings for Sekyung-idal, and partly because of his determination to pair Yichan with Chungah 😖 these guys deserve everything good in life

Twinkling watermelon has ended and now I don't know what to watch. My Mondays and Tuesdays aren't going to twinkle anymore now :(.

My thoughts on the ending : Keeping all the criticism about the ending aside, I think this was the best possible ending for everyone. Ha Eun Gyeol's family isn't struggling anymore as Ha Yi Chan and Yoon Cheong Ah are both successful, happy and charming as ever. Most importantly they are still in contact with their bandmates (their friends learned sign language for them and that's the cutest thing ever :( ). Ha Eun Gyeol doesn't feel 'burdened' anymore and can finally do what he always loved. On Eun Yu isn't suffering anymore either as she changed her mother's future which ended up changing her present as well. And Ha Eun Gyeol and On Eun Yu ENDED UP TOGETHERRR!!!
