I think Nam Yoon Soo was so unbothered and relaxed because deep down he knew he really acted circles around 90% of hallyu’s male stars months after giving a goddam kidney to his apa.

BREWING LOVE
GENRES: Romance, Comedy, Drama
SUMMARY: Sparks fly between a man who deeply feels everyone’s emotions and a woman who has lived her whole life ignoring hers for the sake of everyone else.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Bus stop meet-cutes, emotional burdens, plucky children, good bosses, meditation rooms, secret passageways, perfect pets, corporate jealousy, extended montages, aunties, halmeonis, and toast sandwiches.
HOT TAKE: Just like the beer made throughout this show, every episode in this drama is refreshing and goes down smooth. Due to the ML's ultra-empathy, the communication in this show is super constructive, collaborative, and maintains solid plot-pacing.
There are a few points of despair amongst the characters such as dealing with loss, emotional neglect, and coming to terms with sins of the past, but even those are dealt with honesty, earnestness, and friendship.
This show has a LOT of montage sequences (perhaps to make up for the fact that there are few flashbacks), so if you find yourself wishing the show would just GET ON WITH IT, don't beat yourself up for using that fast-forward button to keep your interest piqued.

The Eighth Sense is going rough and tough on The draft, binge drinking, fat phobia, homophobia, sexism, beauty culture, mental illness and class differences. And Jae Won is not light-skinned. Y’all need a RAINBOW RICE CAKE CLUB !Is it still Hallyu if it’s emptying the clip like that ?!!

HIERARCHY
GENRES: Drama
SUMMARY: A bunch of rich kids go to school, bully the non-rich kids until one of them dies, and then kinda get away with it even after justice is served?
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Fancy cars, classrooms that look like brutalist Hogwarts, ice cream, vacation homes, illegal recordings, cell phone charms, drugs, murder, art studios, absentee parents, hunting, emotional survival, and locker room pecs.
HOT TAKE: But really really, what was the point of this show other than to flaunt nearly a thousand brand names over seven episodes?
We start off with a murder mystery of an innocent student, get caught up in the class wars of a rich prep school and are forced to endure mediocre relationships, love triangles, and rivalries. We kinda get justice for the murder, but in the mean time are forced to choose which rich bully we hate the least which is a game with literally no winners.
I am justifiably annoyed that there is a post-credit sequence at the end of this series teasing yet another mystery I don't care to solve. Please, Netflix, leave this drama where it is. We don't need more.
Also, Kim Jae Won, YOU NEED TO BLINK. I can kinda look past the fact that you only have one expression for every emotion, but at least blink so we know you're human.
