I long for a fictional place. I feel homesick for a place that exists primarily in the fandom of this media. It’s barely a footnote in canon.

It’s where the main character’s mother is from. It was a sister-village to the main focus of the show. The princess from this country wed the ruler of the one the media focuses on. We know nothing besides what their primary weapon was and that it took two nations to take them down.

The fandom has made a culture for this place. A vibrancy, a way of life. Styles and symbolism and techniques. Family and village traditions. Cuisine, artwork and imports. Sports and martial arts and weaponry. But most importantly love, for each other, the village, the very land and sea they walk on. So much that it feels as though the village itself is alive and breathing through its people. A love of life, and an understanding of death.

I long for a home that doesn’t exist. Not in real life, and not in canon.

How does izuna get erased from everything when he was one of the strongest people of that time, an equal to Tobirama, and his death was the literal catalyst to the peace treaty and the village’s creation?

I've been drawing some of Gai's main students in the au recently! My boi ends up with a proto-genin team :>

All of them are considered hopeless by the Uchiha in one way or another but here are their vibes individually:

Ichigo - (9) the youngest, he’s a talentless nobody who’s only survived this long through luck alone, he is extremely bad at controlling his chakra to the point that he’s not even competent at most jutsu. He’s ok at fighting with kunai but that’s about it. His lack of skill isn’t the only reason he’s been put on Gai’s squad however, he also finds it impossible to connect with others and since the sharingan awakens through loss an orphan with no connections in the world has a low chance of ever even getting a single Tomoe. Personally wise he’s a reckless troublemaker, always up for a challenge and always happy to learn new techniques, he’s just never had a proper teacher as he’s far too much trouble for most to handle.

Yuki - (13) the oldest, he’s a quite skilled ninja, mastering multiple jutsu from different chakra natures, he would have had a bright future in the clan if it wasn’t for the fact he was born with very poor eyesight that has only gotten worse over the years, it’s unlikely he would be able to properly use a regular sharingan even if he ever manifested it so he believes his only hope is to gain a mangekyou sharingan - since its powers are based on the individual he may be able to use them with his limited vision. (Also since he’s already going blind he would not mind the cost of it) Personally wise he’s quite shy and reserved - even at times a little naive. He finds communicating with others confusing and difficult, leading him to usually try copying the vibe of the people he is around.

Awaki - (11) pretty much the brain cell of the group. She was an incredibly talented ninja, she prided herself on her nin and genjutsu abilities (she’d even invented several jutsus). That all changed when, at the age of Nine, she was in a fight and lost one of her hands. She was completely devastated - and to make a bad situation worse - she hadn’t managed to activate her sharingan like she assumed she would have. This situation led the uchiha elders to believe she may have an emotional threshold for activation that is far higher than normal people. Since she wasn’t able to weave the complex hand signs she used to be known for she was encouraged to retire, but she refused to let it stop her, she taught herself how to weave simple jutsu with one hand and now using scrolls is the main way she fights (as it allows her to prepare attacks before hand and simply unseal them when she needs them). Personally wise she’s very serious and strict with herself and others, she also absolutely hates people treating her like she can’t take care of herself. Over all though she is very good at keeping calm and level headed in stressful situations.

thank you Borsht for writing me a sweet message about lbh appearance (i'm so sorry that i've accidentally deleted it and can't do a proper answer post)

so i wanted to go deeper with comparing lbh and lbg appearances (how i draw them ofc) as well as explain why my lbh looks so tired and sad. With my designs i want to show characters' inner world so i tend to mix up some canon things.

Luo Binghe is an amazing example. I was trying to show how he is affectionate to his shizun, his shizun-mirroring behaviour. He wears the same clothing style as sqq, even tho his fighting style is way more aggressive and screams for tighter clothes. He is also a little bit more tanned bc it's hot in demons realm where he spent a lot of time (as well he doesn't care if he gets tanned). He is exposing his collarbones and tends to ignore the inner layer - as demons do. His hair is spiky and shaggy and tied into a messy bun. He isn't going for fancy clothing and his look is kinda messy - he is strong enough to show everyone that it isn't about his appearance (maybe he doesn't care with all that politics and shizun resurrection and countless fights who knows). Lbh is lost and he doesn't know what to do, he feels grief and sorrow and aggression. But his aggression goes mostly in, rarely out. Lbh harms himself first and others second. He tries not to murder people (he actually killed some tho and that's sad). I added scars on his arms to show how he actually hates himself, willing to feel pain over and over again. He destroys his world of dreams, he harms himself every freaking day. Xinmo harmed his mind so much because he was already unstable and it also drunk a lot of his own blood, getting even stronger. But still lbh has potential to heal wounds, let scars close and new skin grow on top of them.

Now it's Luo Bingge turn. He is mirroring sqq from PIDW (sj) in every tiny little detail. He hates him so much that desided to fully copy shizun while tearing apart him and everything he likes. Sqq loves to spend time among women - lbg will build his own harem, sqq is stiff and haughty and cruel and... - lbg will copy his behaviour so well. Lbg wears fansy clothing, his messy hair is tied nicely always always perfect in each detail. He looks stiff, strong and dangerous. He has pure jade skin and shiny eyes. He has no scars cause he doesn't need to harm himself while he can torture people he hates. Wow, he is also mad but in a destructive, cruel way. He will never be happy, having no chance to cure - no one can help him neither in his own world nor in others.

to sum this all up i really wanted to show that they'd chosen the path of selfdestruction instead of cultivation, but their paths were different and it affected not only their personality but also their outer look. I might eventually change the designs i went for, but i like them for now.

Naruto 405 // Iruka and Naruto

I'm always so emotional when I think about Iruka and Naruto relationship. He's always been there for Naruto since the start, and the first one to care and actually believe in Naruto, and be worried for him always. I love his character so much, to me he's the real father figure for Naruto ❤️

I never actually watched Shaman King growing up so i had to google it and i guess i kind of see it?

However you're totally right in the sense that my art style definitely was heavily influenced by anime!

Dragonball Z, Naruto and Trigun especially had a hold on my soul in middle school.

Anyways while looking at the Shaman king characters online I found a character that looked so early 2000's anime edgy that I just had to draw him :
