HONESTLY. i agree with prev anon minedai community rlly feels like it’s own separate thing a lot of the time i get so shocked when people who aren’t mainly minedai posters acknowledge it LMFAO it’s pretty rare. we’re kind of in our own stuck in yakuza 3 bubble if that makes sense while everyone’s moving on with the newer games

Playing Bomb rush cyberfunk has been a crazy experience so far because i feel like I've been enjoying the game just as much as I'm not doing so
#which is crazy because i went in with the impression that this would be jet set radio but better#and really? the biggest thing is doing for me rn is making me wanna play old-school Jet set radio again#who the fuck looked at Jsr and thought “Hey you know what would make this game even better? 300 different inputs”#which makes it impossible for me to play this solely on the controler (the main way i play games since i suck ass at the keyboard)#because it just doesn't have that many buttons#so at times i gotta be fucking double welding this shit with both the keyboard and the controler and it's awful#because I don't have that good of a motor coordination or whatever the proper term is#on top of that. why did we need a fighting mechanic? that's so fucking unnecessary when Jsr already had a gret way of dealing with that#which was by integrating the grafitti mechanic with the fighting by having it be the way you damage opponents#just adjust that to make it take more hits/graffitis in the fight and boom. you're done. perfectly functional#all it does is take away 3 BUTTONS in a game that already has a shit load of inputs#and ik these same buttons are also used to doing tricks on rails but like. that's such an useless addition#because I'm not actually doing anything like this isn't pulling a move on a fighting game. no skill is needed. I'm just mashing buttons#so you might as well not have both of these machanics and have the buttons be set to do other. more important comands#like the one to manually continue a combo on the ground after getting off of a rail. i gonna hold control on the keyboard and move#my joysticks at the same time whenever i need that and it fucking sucks#so yeah whenever i play it again I'm definitely gonna try mapping my controler to my liking and we'll see how it goes#unrelated to the gameplay i just gotta say. sorry but the songs are so mid#if i knew how to mod things i would replace every single one of them songs from jsf and jsrf. absolutely no doubt about it#like the songs in the jsr games are so unique and distinct from one another. even the ones that have a similar style. which makes them#incredibly memorable like i still remember a good chunk of them from the top of my head and i haven't played that game in months#bomb rush cyberfun songs just feel so samey and forgettable#a similar thing can be said for the environment designs and especially their colors imo#everything within the same area feels incredibly samey and not memorable. and you may think “Carol it's a whole area of course it's gonna#look similar to itself“ and to that i say. yes. cohesion is important but take a look at Kogane and Bento from jsr and you'll see#how despite being the same area and having the a coherent color pallet and overlay applied to it their locations are distinct from eachother#and memorable to the point where i can recall how to traverse thought each area and where they lead to easily#in bomb rush it feels like I'm just looking at the same place everywhere in the map#on a good note! i like the story so so much it's definitely what's gonna cary me through playing the whole game#because jsr really needed more story and fleshed out characters that aren't just different designs you can play as

Smiler and Alice went first, making a pale orange smiling pumpkin and a white cat pumpkin respectively, while I kept Victor busy looking at the handful of pumpkins Petey had included in the display. He then took over Smiler’s station once Smiler was done (they carved a Masterpiece of a pumpkin! Victor’s and Alice’s were just Excellent, which, still great), while Smiler chatted with Alice and checked out a pumpkin themselves. Once everyone was done, I made sure all the pumpkins were lined up on one side of the display, properly preserved (so they won’t ever rot), and lit up –
Then had Alice take a picture of them all together! :D Which proved to be a BIT tricky, as my initial attempts to get her lined up had her looking at the pumpkins from a very awkward angle, and then when I got her straight on, Victor’s elbow was in the corner of the shot. XD I just zoomed in as much I could while keeping all three pumpkins in-frame and took my wanted snaps, playing around with filters and sizes a bit as I do. (What can I say – I like variety. And the medium picture size.) And once THAT was all settled…
-->It was time to turn off autonomy for a little bit and set up the tripod for some group pictures! :D Which, again, proved to be a little trickier than anticipated – I initially set up the tripod in front of the display I’d made with the mini-cowplant and the falcon, but when I sent the trio over there, the interaction first just canceled out, then the camera just kept beeping for ages while the three lined up around the SIDE of the tripod. And then I accidentally canceled out the interaction AGAIN by accidentally moving the camera trying to get Alice to try the picture again. I decided that they probably didn’t have enough room with the camera facing the side wall display and turned it around so the backdrop would be the specters-in-jars display and the stairs up to the bathroom, prompting Alice to try one more time. Again, the camera timer beeped for AGES, making me worry that something was wrong –
But I did eventually get to take my pictures! Whew! I promptly had fun putting everyone into various poses (silly, romantic, and just plain random) and taking a variety of small and medium-sized pictures. :D Gotta commemorate the moment, after all! And I will never stop loving that the tripod allows me to take group pictures of the three. :D It’s great, it really is.
-->With the final goal of the date (well, sort of – the date ended at Gold level right before the actual picture-taking took place, but it was MY final goal for the date anyway) sorted, and Victor and Alice’s energy flagging a little, I figured it was time to wrap up the holiday. I thus had Alice put away her camera and tripod, directed Victor and Alice to share an intense kiss (since Victor and Smiler had locked lips earlier), then sent the trio back home –

Sebastian Vael is such a profoundly lonely character
#like some of this is just the limitations of the DLC and I do get that but like#accepting the material as presented (tho acknowledging it's told through Varric's very biased POV)#Seb tries SO HARD to connect with the Kirkwall Crew#(with the exception of Anders who he's still shockingly polite to all things considered)#yet his attempts at reaching out for friendship are either outright rejected (Aveline...VARRIC especially)#or at best politely accepted without much depth in return...Like he can be a friendly acquaintance to them but not a truly close friend#(his relationships with Merrill and Fenris for example)#and again it is not for lack of trying on his part! man is using all of the tools he has to connect with these ppl!#and he himself clearly cares about them!!#just something about this guy who was outright rejected by his family for being too much#too hedonistic too emotional too impulsive#and sent away from the only home he's ever known to a city where he knows truly no one#and has to cut off as much of his former personality/behavior as possible to try#and earn redemption/righteousness be what his family wants#the way he has to constantly earn Elthina's approval but it never stays nothing he does is ever truly good enough#and how other than her and Hawke (presuming they actually take the time to get to know him which like..a lot of players don't)#he never truly knows anyone in Kirkwall he's always a stranger in that city#i forget what my point was but I love Sebastian he makes me so fucking sad#yes I'm playing DA2 again it's fine i don't have a problem i can stop whenever i want mind your business lol#dragon age#sebastian vael#dragon age 2

Personally, I envisioned The Flash's series finale involving a scene with Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco all teaming up in the field again, with Iris on comms in the Cortex, Kamilla and Joe helping somehow from the S.T.A.R. Labs van, close to where the O.G.s are doing their thing, the JV Squad being Somewhere Else, idc where, just not in this scene, Mark being long gone past the point of anyone mentioning or thinking about him, and Starlight by Muse playing in the background.
#The Flash#O.G. Team Flash#Killblaine#and then the music changes eventually of course but Starlight would be GREAT for getting the action started#O.G. Team Flash can either all be fighting the villain(s) together or they can divide and conquer#maybe it starts out like the would-be season 6 finale and then transitions into something more like the season 4 finale#(next-to-last episode of season 4?)#(whenever they stormed A.R.G.U.S. idk)#or maybe they start out split up and then all come together for a fight scene#maybe Kamilla's job is directing Cisco through a large facility where he has to hack/take something#and Caitlin is either off freeing hostages or fighting off villain henchmen trying to get into the building#while Barry confronts the Big Bad head-on and fights them/keeps them monologuing long enough for Caitlin & Cisco to do what they need to do#Caitlin has ice powers in this btw#with the turn the show took a few seasons back it wouldn't have been doable anymore#but I'm still attached to the idea that Frost was just Caitlin's repressed side#and Caitlin would eventually figure herself out and come into her own#taking on Frost's powers and confidence and becoming a balanced combination of both sides#who likes dressing like a high school principal AND a badass club-going gal#(RIP Caitlin's versatile style)#also yes this goes along with the scenario(s) I imagined for the Reverse Flash's last stand#whether or not he's a part of the season-long plot he'd still be a vital part of the finale#and be taken down in a way that makes sense and is significant to his history with Team Flash (in particular Barry and Cisco)

#dot post#ignore Morg#morg rants#9/10 times when I see authors write ''compromise'' as a theme they do it wrong#what you're writing is SUBMISSION you fucking fascist#If I am ''compromising'' on something I have either found a solution where everyone can get what they want#or I am being compensated in proportion for NOT getting what I want#this can take the form of a MUTUAL submission but you need to make that abundantly clear or else I'll think you're a wannabe petty tyrant#a character submitting to someone's wishes to [whatever] and finding out they like it is not a compromise#A compromise is ''if you go with my to this party I'll spend the same amount of time playing the game you like but I don't with you''#And if they like the party hey nice but you still need to like. Do shit THEY want to do you know?#I see it in romance I've seen it in childrens' media (a LOT) and I see it when the writer wants to write a ''difficult'' character#but actually instead just wrote an extremely believable Autistic or ADHD character who is actually extremely in the right#basically all the time but is punished by the narrative#ugh I wrote two versions of this rant and this is the less inflammatory one#but I really want to emphasize that most of the time when ''compromise'' is a recurring theme or gets a lot of attention in a work#is when I decide that I would never trust the author or the work's fans with even the tiniest bit of power or ground given#other people can make that mistake#I'm sure I've seen it done right before but that's the thing; if you do it right it registers as something much more egalitarian#and it doesn't end up STICKING OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB#Whenever I see another fucking ''learning how to woman like a womanly woman womaning'' story I start feeling homicidal#gender is actually a horror that we accept as mundane and as someone who LIKES other horror#I think that gender needs to become as niche and uncomfortable and ''weird'' as something to care about and participate in#Yes that's the spark that set off this rant it's gender#it's always fucking gender shit I am haunted by the fucking mirages people see when they look at me#I should go to sleep because now I'm tired AND annoyed
