After two and a half years of this job being way too close to what I enjoy writing to actually write anything, I’m finally starting to feel an itch to dream stories. I don’t think I’m quite ready. I’m still adjusting, still working out how to be human when I’m around regular people. But the fact it’s coming back slowly is a relief. I thought it would be gone forever.

On the bright side I now have a much better understanding stings, stake outs, bugging hardware, jail security, court house layouts, and can very accurately describe looking death in the face. The key is not to blink. You’d be surprised what a smile can get you out of.

btw todd’s reluctance to join the dps because he doesn’t want to read (which is then accommodated for) and is scared to put himself out there (which is also worked through) being read as todd not wanting to go AT ALL, and thus neil making the proper accommodations (“todd anderson, who prefers not to read, will keep the minutes of the meetings”) and encouraging him to step out of the box that stifles him being seen as ‘forceful’ or like he can’t take no for an answer makes me insane with rage

Okay so there was this officer I was riding with a few weeks back and I really want to make an OC based on him but… plot. I don’t know how to bring him into my already outlined plot.

I already have given Dick a new TO and Riviera, is nothing like this guy. I don’t want to get rid of her either.

Maybe this is the spark of inspiration to make me go buy a new laptop. I don’t think work would approve of me using theirs for writing. I can see my bosses face now if I got subpoenaed.
