Xenity and Gender in the Abstract
(An essay under the cut.)
Can you imagine a gender experience that is not feminine, masculine, neutral, epicene, outherine, or even genderless? What if, instead of any of those categories, you used far more unconventional ways to explain your gender? The concept of atrinary identities was explained in a previous essay, but I also briefly mentioned the experience of being xenine - that is, any gender quality outside of the human scope of genderedness. Instead of using human concepts to explain gender, xenity exists in the realm of the abstract and the other. Xenine identities may also be called xenic.
Xenity can be experienced in a number of ways - through concepts based on emotions, colors, textures, plants, animals, media, sensations, and so much more. Some xenine identities might feel like a cool early morning while some might be related to a specific character from a TV show or movie. Others might be more like the deep dark ocean. And others might be best described as something eldritch and unknowable. Like any other gender experience, it really depends on the individual who uses the label. Genders that are inherently xenine are typically called xenogenders.
While these experiences don’t use human categorizations of gender, they do not inherently indicate a nonhuman experience such as otherkinity or therianthropy either. However, that may actually be the experience for some members of those communities. If someone is more animalistic, they may view their own gender as something an animal might experience - or, at least, an animal in a human’s body. It gets even more complex when that person isn’t human or animal, or even anything of this world. If they’re some sort of mythical creature, a spirit, an alien, or even the embodiment of an abstract concept, their xenine experience might be more suited to that form of nonhumanity.
Other folks - not otherkin or therian - may feel a connection to music or other forms of media, which means their xenic experience will reflect that. Xenogenders based on specific songs or albums, on video game characters, on physical pieces of technology, or even the nostalgic feeling of interacting with these types of media exist to fit this type of gendered experience.
Another way someone may experience xenity is through -coric identities, which are based on specific core aesthetics. Goblincore, cottagecore, horrorcore, and fairycore can all be xenogenders - goblincoric, cottagecoric, horrorcoric, and fairycoric respectively. While an aesthetic-based identity sounds like it may play into one’s gender expression more than anything, these are actually more often literal genders. Xenogenders may also be based on other types of aesthetics, anywhere from lolita to gothic to pastel to neon. Aesthetics can be just as flexible as genders.
Xenity doesn't just have to relate to xenogenders. Since it's a gender quality, it can be applied to any other existing gender or lack thereof. You can be a xenic man, a xeno-aligned agender person, or someone who is demixenogender with a connection to other genders. Your presentation or expression can also be xenic. What does that look like? Like any other type of gender expression, it is variable and individualistic - it depends on how that person chooses to express themselves! There are no rules for gender expression or how a gender quality might affect our gendered experiences.
Gender is incredibly personal and since we experience the world through a vast and varied number of sensory inputs, it makes sense that those inputs might intersect with our gender identity. Our sense of self, after all, is often shaped by the many ways we experience the world. The way something looks, feels, sounds, or is experienced through memories can all influence our genders in some way. This might very well be one of the most diverse and flexible gender concepts that exist!

Androvixenix / Axendroma
Androvixenix, also known as Axendroma, is a gender that is genderless-, male-, androgyne- and xeno-aligned. These alignments can be simultaneous, fluid, and/or fluctuate in intensity. This may manifest as identifying only partially as male, androgynous and/or xenine genders. This term is intended for those who feel simultaneously connected and disconnected from these alignments, as well as those who have difficulty distinguishing their alignment from their gender.
Summarized description: A nixic gender that is nixangi, nixvir, and nixenic, simultaneously.

Meergender: a gender that is deep and difficult to explore, reminiscent of a large body of water, while also being multi-faceted and can fit under multiple gender descriptors. Similar to ambimegender, cosmicgender, seagender and genderplus.
a alternate meergender flag which doesn’t have that many stripes and hopefully less hurtful to the eyes

Twelve for the violence ask game!
[Choose Violence Asks]
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
I could take the easy way out and choose Lorgar [I do still get asks over at @the-archpriest-and-the-outcast about how people want him to die, how they are throwing bricks through his window, some people blaming him for the fall of the imperium, etc. I just never answer them on principle. I see you all, little anons, and I'm not giving you your time in the sun] because he's still very much hated but I feel like that would take about 20,000 words and 5-7 novels for citations.
Plus he's a primarch and primarchs feel way too easy.
Hmm. This is tough because I feel like most of the ones I could choose are ones people enjoy enough if they're familiar with the faction or subfaction they're apart of. For example, I love Burias for being a bit of an idiot, but anyone who has read the WB trilogy already knows and probably likes Burias too.
Aqhet Hakoris, the TS who wanted to make a Sixth Cult for the Legion, was interesting in the short story he appeared in.
There is also the sorcerer Amhot from "A Promise Fulfilled" who I would love to read a novel on. How he treats the humans coming to Sortiarius and also the Tzaangors around him is fascinating.
Cerastes, the Imperial who is disillusioned with the Imperial faith and sees Word Bearers and thinks them divine, is also fascinating. But I wouldn't say I enjoy his character as much as I enjoy what he represents as a whole. Finally, it's a written and canon instance of the Word Bearers recruiting someone willingly. It's someone who grew distant with the Imperial Creed, and upon seeing agents of Chaos, willingly went to them instead of being like "no... THIS is the GREAT ENEMY. I DECRY YOU, warp-spawn, in the name of the HOLY GOD EMPEROR OF MANKIND!" He's from "Sacred Hate", a short story from last year's advent thing from Black Library, if memory serves.
I guess him. For now. But even then it feels kind of cheap because I don't like him for him but more for what he represents.
Unfortunately the bulk of the novels I've read don't have anyone I enjoy that is not already enjoyed by those who have read the novels. And I've read a LOT of stuff -- majority of it being from the Horus Heresy, in all honesty -- but I feel like anyone I talk about would just boil down to "they're not unpopular or disliked, anyone who has read that novel would enjoy them."
#the hermit awakens#sacred hate was a good read#so was a better place/a promise fulfilled#yeah its WB and TS centric but also#im not interested in much that isnt chaos aligned tbh#i dont like guard stuff and i dont like imperial marines#i would like to see the xenos get any lore but im not too interested in the xenos factions personally#except necrons their latest books have slapped severely#necrons stay winning#i have read 62 warhammer novels#i think about 30 of them are in the heresy#i have read every single SoT novel#and then the rest are misc ''modern'' 40k books#about to be 63 with end and the death vol III#and 64 and 65 with the eidolon/EC novels to come out eventually

Back in March I found your blog cause I was looking for some good xc3 meta. I ate that shit up. Then I saw you were into Transformers and while I've never really been into them I figured I'd give it a shot after seeing some of your stuff about it. I am now obsessed, especially with the idw stuff. What have you done to me.
B)
See, this is incredibly funny to me because among my other robot friends I am infamous for being as close to an IDW'05 antifan as there is among us. I fucking slammed face first into that continuity and bounced off it hard enough to break something permanently.
I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, though. IDW'05 went on for a long time, has a lot of branches, and people who are far smarter than me writing meta that actually deals with the themes of those comics rather than being mudslinging and competence porn like what I wanna write.
#van's answers#anonymous#you should go follow quetzalpapalotl and decepti-thots for some actual IDW meta#I am almost exclusively an Aligned kinda fox :D#Also -- thank you!#I thought nobody fucking liked my Xenoblade 3 stuff lmao#I kinda lost motivation to post any because man. The reception was so cold#but I kind of expected that since my Xeno stuff has *neeeeeever* had a good reception

Support, love, and positivity for anyone who is xenogender, xingender, xeno-aligned, xenine, or anything similar. Gender is so variable and conventional language doesn't always do a good job at describing it. Sometimes, we need to look far beyond the binary for labels that fit our unique experiences. We need to recognize that there are people with these experiences in our communities who need support and validation. Go show some love to a xenic individual today!
Do you have a favorite xenogender blog or artist that you want to share? What about specific types of media that represent the xenic experience? Feel free to share whatever you know!

I'm not bothered by the conversation so much as I am a growing approach to activism which makes it impossible to interact with other people. Which echoes a lot of that conversation I had with Ginger this week.
He refuses to have friends that are not faithful to Jesus. Like, he can have a productive conversation with a non-believer and nearly connect with them socially, but if he learns that they don't go to church or don't believe in christ, he finds it difficult to take them seriously because their words were not god-inspired.
Ginger was in a cult. I do not mean this colloquially- Xenos/Dwell is a prominent pseudo-christian cult in central Ohio that preys on college students in need of community. There are rules about who you can date, who you can hang with, they practice gay coversion therapy, and will tell you not to visit your family if they're not Christian.
There is a lot of focus on purity. Actions, thoughts, social groups- it's very controlling about what you can and cannot do.
So. When he goes out into the world with us sinners, it becomes difficult to interact with general society.
We were talking about Merve, one of our foremen, and I said: "the first time I was in a car with Merve, he introduced himself as a Democratic Catholic Pervert. And honestly- yeah that's a good summation."
Ginger didn't like that at all. "Well he's not a very good catholic with all that talk of pornography, he should be ashamed of himself- honestly shouldn't even call himself Christian."
Merve is very much a womanizer, but it's all talk. He's gross about it sometimes and it rubs me the wrong way, but in all fairness- he warned me. Outside of that, he's what I expected from a 60-something landscaper.
"Well, I think whether he's a good Christian or not is up to God, not us."
And he got a little pissy over that comment because I caught him judging.
He only hangs out with 'the faithful' at work, which consists of three guys who are religious in a similar way and it's caused a bit of a rift in the culture. It's gotten a little... preachy. It wasn't preachy before.
So I am making... parallels to this behavior and a particular strain of activism that's been affected by purity culture.
Nothing is ever good enough. If it touches racism, it's banned forever and you have to spread the word about how it's racist. Where doing things that are well-intended puts you in the spotlight for the underlying and actually bigoted reason you're doing a nice thing. And prevents you from doing the nice thing in the future.
Because yes you did a nice thing, but it wasn't enough- you could be doing more.
Yes you did a nice thing, but you did this nice thing instead of tackling this bigger issue.
Yes you did a nice thing, but it was through this program that you didn't know was funded somewhat unethically.
Yes you did a nice thing, but your motivation for doing it wasn't the goodness of your heart, it was motivated by guilt.
Yes you did a nice thing, but it took a horrible event to do it when you should have had the morals of goodness ingrained in you and you should have done this from the start.
Yes you did a nice thing, but you only did it when it started impacting your life and you should be thinking of others first.
Yes you did a nice thing but the nice thing doesn't align perfectly with my worldview.
The goalpost is forever moving backwards.
No one likes to be called 'racist.' It's a really easy weapon to use when something does something you don't like. If you look at anything closely enough, you will see it's racist roots. You could say the same for misogyny, homophobia. Our society is built on hatred and inequality. Untangling it and living a morally pure life free of ridicule is impossible.
Recognizing the roots of an action to be bigoted is the first step. The second step is knowing it when you see it. Step three is pointing it out.
But there are more steps.
Pointing it out, or calling it out, and chastising someone for ignoring or not knowing something actually isn't all that helpful. Because it leaves you to wonder- okay, now what? What can I do to remedy this situation?
Which is the next step- actionable items. Yes, I have done something wrong- I am sorry.
I am sorry. Now I will try to make it right.
I will try to make it right by donating, by volunteering time, by listening to the people who have been hurt and lifting their voices.
Part of healing from an oppressive Christian community is realizing that people are going to sin whether you like it or not. And barring harm to themselves and others, you're gonna have to let them.
If my tarot practice is derived from a 15th century racist, then it was derived for a 15th century racist. Refusing to participate in a past-time that helps me connect with my family doesn't make it not racist. It will still be racist. But I'm not sure who it's hurting in 2024 and I don't have a time machine and I'm not being given clear instructions for how to unracist it.

Prompt: Swirl 26/10/24 @rosekillermicrofic
Word count: 640
Evan fidgeted nervously, watching the man behind the bar mixing drinks - the way the muscles in his arm flexed, and he tossed the shaker from hand to hand, practically juggling the thing. He was wearing a tight black t-shirt which didn't leave much to the imagination and had streaks of neon green in his dark hair, but blonde roots peeked through slightly. The dim light caught every shining glint of metal of the peircings in his face.
Evan found him embarrassingly fit, but he lingered with his sister and her friends rather than making a move. His logic was that he couldn't be rejected if he never tried. The last thing he wanted was to fumble or, worse, find out the bartender wasn't even queer.
"I don't get it" Pandora muttered, walking back from the bar and handing Evan a vodka lemonade and taking a sip from some drink that was probably more syrup than alcohol "you won't even order your own drink, and he's not even that fit" she scolded playfully before settling down beside her girlfriend.
"You should go talk to him, the fates are in your favour" one of Pandora's best friends drawled out around a straw as he sipped on some floral drink, they were some weird hippy with waist length white-blonde hair and shared a wardrobe with her - their name was Xenophillius but everyone called them Xeno. They handed Evan a silver coin that said 'yes' on its face, flipping it over in his palm it said 'no' on the other side.
Evan downed his drink and burped, slamming the glass onto the table harder than was necessary and letting the alcohol give him courage. Though it might have been the lingering sense that Xeno would berate Evan for not taking a chance when the stars aligned in his favour.
Strutting towards the bar and waiting nervously for the man to finish serving the customer before him, Evan didn't pay them much mind too busy staring at the bartender. He stopped towards the bar and smiled the best he could.
"What can I do you for?" the man said cheerfully, leaning against the counter in a way that made his forearms look delicious. Evan couldn't help but imagine sinking his teeth into that smooth skin.
"I... uhhh... I, " Evan stuttered out, unable to find the right words to say. He scrubs a hand over his face, trying to hide the flush on his cheeks as he fumbled.
"How's about today's special?" the man grinned as he placed a small glass down on the bar and grabbed a bottle, filling the glass halfway with what Evan recognised as some sort of cream li "Chocolate and strawberry liqueur, layered with milk and topped with chocolate swirls." he slid the glass over to Evan. It was a pretty drink, layered like neopolitan ice cream. It was tasted similar to the neopolitan ice cream, too.
Evan shuffled for his wallet. "How much?" He mumbled. The bartender shook his head and smiled wider, showing off sharpened canines."It's on the house, pretty boy, " he teased before winking.
"I get off as soon as my coworker bleeding gets here. He's 10 minutes late already. Then me and you can go grab dinner or what?"
Evan did a full double take blinking heavily and jaw slack, slightly disappointed he didn't get to make the first move properly but elated that he'd managed to bag the hot bartender. "I'm.. I'm uhhh Evan, " he murmured awkwardly, offering a hand out to shake. The bartender took the hand and pulled Evan forewards, making him lose his centre of balance and tumble towards him. "Barty, but call me Bat," he muttered back, his lips close to Evan's as he grinned like the Cheshire cat. He pecked a kiss before leaning back to serve another customer, leaving Evan dazed and watching as he poured another drink.
(A/N: nonbinary Xenophillius is my fav, and so is them being absolute besties with Pandora. Also love the supportive sibling moment between them)

You know the TFA Decepticons aren’t an oppressed minority right? DJW even said their Rise Up rhetoric was a jab at how conservatives preach about Protecting Freedoms, and in the Allspark Almanac it’s explained they wanted to colonize other planets and the Autobots objected to that. The Decepticons were exiled for being military fascists.
I'd really, really love to know where I've ever said that on this blog, but since you seem very convinced that I did, let's look at the lore again. I don't feel like trawling the internet for this specific tweet/whatever form this DJW evidence has, so if you have that, I'd love to see it.
This timeline from the Allspark Almanac II pretty clearly states that the entire crux of Cybertronian society as a whole has rested on colonization, very early on in their species' history. Their "Golden Age" 8 billion stellar cycles ago is characterized by expansion that led to the colonization (!!!) of their solar system, further colonization only prevented by isolationism.
The earliest indications of the factional split that mark their history exist within the ruling class Guardians and the Malignus, defined as a "military caste". This implies that Golden Age Cybertron existed as a caste system. Which I would take a guess as not being particularly great.
And when we get to the first (again, quoted from the text here,) "military coup", it's executed by the political ancestors of the Autobots. Not a peep about the Malignus while that was going on.
This faction eventually becomes the Protectobots, and the most notable thing about them is that their leader attempted a Great Purge of "undesirable elements" from their society. I'd be hard pressed to think I'm wrong in thinking that's kinda fucked up. We're not given explicit reasons for this 17 million year war, but wars don't happen without someone to oppose someone else, and we get this in the form of the Destrons.
As for the point about colonization: my point is not that the Decepticon's motivations are not what we see in canon. Not at all. My point is that the Autobots have the same fucking motivation.
The Age of Expansion literally begins when the Autobots take power! It only ends when they butt heads with the Quintessons! Colonization, militarism, and facism, as you put it, are not traits that are unique to Decepticons.
And, according to this timeline and historical reasoning given, there is no mention of either faction's position on further expansion. The formation of the Decepticons is rooted in the divide between labor and military aligned Cybertronians. Both sections are equally responsible for the imperialistic efforts of their Empire/Commonwealth/whatever you want to call it, and make no mistake, this does continue into the present day! From both factions!
Assuming you're referring to my hefty lean towards the Cons in terms of character/exploration interest in the gist of your message, my goal here is not to elevate them to the same Good Guy Status the Autobots have by virtue of being the protagonists. I am fully and completely aware that they are a group of insane zealots that have rallied under a guy who was described by his own VA as an "elegant bully". Rather, I think what you're picking up on is my focus on the fact that the Autobots in Animated have more than their fair share of insidious shit going on.
They retain what is essentially a military dictatorship, with the position of Magnus being only theoretically beholden to the will of the Council and Guilds, as seen when Sentinel was able to fire Fortress Maximus with no approval from the Council and got nothing more than a disapproving sentence from Alpha Trion. We have no word on how their schooling institutions work, but all of it seems heavily centered on their version of the military they've concocted in the absence of warbuilds. And, just in case we forgot about Sentinel's proposed budget...
And that's not even getting into how fucked up Autobot culture is! They're unspeakably xenophobic, throw around propagandistic phrases like they're nothing ("Cogs in the Great Autobot Machine", anyone?), have an incredibly questionable justice system if Wasp is anything to go by, and this only seems to be getting worse at the end of Season 3, if Sentinel's curfews and public service announcements are anything to go by.
I'm not trying to make the Decepticons look better. I'm trying to make the Autobots look worse.
#tl:dr I don't believe I've ever said that and anyway I'm fully aware they're not#what I believe we're looking at here is an insane set of species-wide neuroses#that have been historically crystallized into two unbelievably shitty factions#nobody here is having a good time.#ANYWAY. kinda curious about what sparked this anon?#were these the vibes you got from Darkest Hour? did you just decide I seemed like I liked the Cons too much?#genuinely very interested to know#asks#tf#tfa#transformers#transformers animated#maccadam

Paraequesexual
Pronounced: para-A-ques-sexual
Definition : An orientation where one feels removed from the socially typical ways of explaining relationships in queer lexicon (aka the ways we have been conditioned to see relationships in regards to "platonic vs romantic vs sensual vs sexual).
Term and flag origin: November 2024
Flag colors inspired by the aegospike flag
Paraequesexual may enjoy sex acts in the moment or romantic acts in the moment but outside of these instances rarely or never (depending on individual) think of these acts. Romance, sex, sensuality, etc. Is just another way to make those feel good hormones go off in your head. One might see these relationships through the scope of companionship (the level of emotional depth to these companionships is up to the individual) or allies.
To typical Lgbtq orientations this is basically between aromantic, asexual, and pomosexual if someone needs an easy comparison but again, this orientation is for people who see relationships as just a way to make the feel good hormones go off in the head, NOT in the way society expects "are you romantically attracted to someone? Are you sexually attracted to someone?"
Different from aegosexual because MANY aegosexual circles are strongly uncomfortable with the idea of doing sex acts with partners in person.
Tagging people to bring attention to this 💜
