With severance season 2 around the corner it’s time for me to share the time I accidentally watched 4 minutes of an episode on mute and thought it was a brilliant way to show the sensory deprivation experienced by the innies

giving birth sucks tbh. not only do you and the baby you’re birthing almost die, usually you shit yourself and often you tear your taint. then you have to push an organ out of your body (placenta) and if even a little of that remains in your body, you can hemorrhage to death or develop an infection that essentially rots your body from the inside out. even if you had a relatively “easy birth”, you bleed for weeks on end. even after that stops, your body and brain is changed for the rest of your life, the pregnancy leeched minerals from your bones, that can cause osteoporosis later. minor urinary incontinence is not uncommon, brain scans of people who gave birth show permanent changes in their brain, you’re never quite the same.
I say all of this not to say giving birth is disgusting but it is a harrowing and visceral experience. society downplays how fucking awful it is and makes it out to be a ~magical~ experience but it isn’t a magical transformative experience for everyone. it can be an extremely traumatic experience for someone who wanted to carry a pregnancy to term, much more so for someone who did not want to be pregnant in the first place or someone who knows their baby won’t survive the birth. anyway, abortion is a right. pregnancy and birth aren’t just inconvenient, it’s fucking awful.

I'm trying to work through this whole 'Gulf of America' thing.
And it's like.
It's stupid.
It's stupid. It's a stupid thing. But it also doesn't actually hurt anyone directly, so on one hand it feels like a red herring, a distraction, a slight of hand to keep people from focusing on all the shit that does directly affect people.
But it's also being used as virtue signaling, as a loyalty test.
This is a way to easily identify dissent, and it's stupid, and I hate it.

I understand the value of artistic liberties but what exactly is Yugio's haircut supposed to be. I've wondered this since childhood

I hate hate hate antitheists.
"religion is blind obedience to gods!"
Jewish culture is looking to the sky and asking "hey what the fuck?? Stop being such a dick?"
Navajo religion has Coyote, whose main role is to be a little shit.
Traditional Mayan religion has gods like Buluc, who was feared and not really respected, and was considered more of a powerful threat than anything else.
That's not to mention religion types outside of monotheism and pantheism, such as animism (which has no "gods").
"religion is about condemning people you don't like to hell!" Most religions don't have a hell at all.
"religion is about controlling people!" MOST RELIGIONS DON'T EVEN HAVE SET MANUSCRIPTS OR COMMANDMENTS.
YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT CHRISTIANITY, AND MAYBE ISLAM SOMETIMES. STFUUUUUUUUUUUU

people who for very silly reasons want to market prepared food products without preservatives in them who then discover why we started putting preservatives in prepared food products in the first place (because without a preservation method food quickly grows stale, and frequently also moldy or downright toxic) is a consistently good bit. like people really seem to think we put Evil Chemicals in food on purpose for no reason.

FOR PARENTS OF YOUNG KIDS IN THE US!
Someone over on bluesky posted this and I figured I'd better repost it here. It's the pre-RFK 2025 vaccination schedule for babies and young children, ya know, just in case it mysteriously disappears. Save this and give it to your child's pediatrician; tell them this is the schedule you want your child on.
